Jeff sat there for a while longer before heading out as well.

He lived in a large, antique-looking mansion. The front had a few rooms while the back had a large flower garden with beautiful exotic flowers and plants. There were even a few hundred-year-old trees. Scattered in the center of the garden was an ancient rhyme.

Jeff walked along the stone path until he reached a fake mountain in the middle.

After pressing some buttons on the mountain, the fake mountain made of jagged rocks split open to reveal a hidden passageway.

He continued walking in along the path.

The air inside was a little chilly and a cool breeze blew.

Jeff continued down a winding stone path for another two minutes or so and the scenery began to brighten up.

In front of him was a large stone house surrounded by ice. In the middle of the house was a crystal coffin, completely transparent.

If anyone else were here right now, they would have the shock of their life.

Inside the coffin lay an old, white-haired lady.

The more disturbing fact was that the old lady looked exactly like Vickie except for her gray hair and wrinkled face. At first glance, you could tell that she was at least 70 or 80.

She silently lay there with a serene expression on her face. Jeff walked over to her and stared at her peaceful face before reaching out to gently caress her hair.

“Zeezee,” he whispered endearingly.

It was a strange sight to behold—A young man looking at an old lady in a coffin and affectionately calling her by a nickname. To him though, it was nothing odd.

The corners of his lips curled up as he stared at her. He softly said, “Give me a little more time. Very soon, you’ll get to wake up again my Zeezee.

The old lady remained asleep. It almost seemed like she had passed away.

Jeff carefully groomed her hair like it was as precious as silk while mumbling to himself, “That man will surely fetch all the things I can’t obtain myself.

Zeezee, once we get 12 pieces of the heavenly jade silk, you can awaken again. When the time comes, I’ll take you to see the current world okay?

“Do you know that this world is so different from the world we used to live in? There are so, so many new and strange things to see. When you’re awake, I’m sure you’ll love it.

“Zeezee, I love you. And I’ll always be here waiting for you.”

He then leaned down and kissed her on her forehead before turning to leave.

Since they had cleanly divided the territories amongst everyone, Gideon and Nell had no reason to stay any longer.

Plus, their own internal affairs were equally chaotic and they could not afford to stay out forever. As such, they made preparations to head back.

The Leiths and the Grahams used to be very close, but due to economical clashes, their relationship became strained. The world used to fear that a war would break out between the two global leaders.

To think that working together on this matter would foster an odd bond between the two families instead of making it worse.

Nell could tell that Gideon did not hate Gregory as much as he used to.

As for Gregory, he saw that Gideon and Nell had put in a lot of commitment to help rescue Vickie. He began to see them in a new light.

In the past, the two would never even be caught dead in the same room, but now, there was a lingering sense of remorse that they should have done this sooner.

Both parties were smart. They knew that between working together and going against each other, it was clear that working together would be much more beneficial.

They were now at least tacit toward each other and Nell could not be happier about it.

The night before Gideon and Nell were scheduled to leave, Gregory hosted a small party for them.

It was held in the chateau, but it was much more lively than usual since it was not just Gregory, Vickie, and the Leith couple but even Liam and Janet rushed back from Country F for it.

Janet was also supposed to head back in the next few days, but after talking to Nell over the phone and finding out that they were leaving the next day, she switched her flight to join the party.

Since they were going back together, it made sense to meet up beforehand, so they went straight to Lin City from Country F.

Everything was bright and lively. The chateau even looked like a lantern.

Massimo even brought a few friends over, and of course, his little girlfriend. The two were not official yet, but it was obvious from the way they acted that they were quite sure of each other.

Vickie even teasingly asked him when the wedding would be over dinner.

To think that he managed to flip the question back to her by countering with a, “I’ll get married the moment you get married.”

Vickie sputtered incomprehensibly with a beet-red face and went quiet.

On the other hand, Gregory was very pleased.

The corners of his mouth lifted into a coy smile. “Do you mean it? Once we have the wedding you’ll immediately have yours?”

Massimo was a ride or die kind of guy. He would do it if it meant winning a bet.

He immediately placed a bet. “Of course! I’m a man of my word. If you do it today, then I’ll do it tomorrow. How about that? Is that a deal, Gregory?”

Vickie glared at him, worried that Gregory would do something rash. “Don't listen to him and his cr*p!”

She then quickly switched the topic.

“This steak is really good, Nelly. Try it.”

Vickie then placed a piece of steak on her plate.

Nell smiled. “I really can't eat anymore, I’m so full.”

Gideon gave her a look. “How can you be full when you only ate a little bit? Eat a bit more.”

Nell had been trying to lose weight because she felt a bit chubby, but Gideon kept finding excuses to get her to eat more.

Nell was unable to refuse him, so she was the most silent at every meal.
