Chapter 326
Spoiled by the President
Janet had taken into consideration the conversation she previously had with Nell.
Hence, she knew that the trip back to Jincheng was a must.
Only, she could return but the child should not be brought along for the journey.
Firstly, the child had just recovered from an illness and was still an infant. There was a possibility that he might relapse.
Secondly, Janet was worried that Ethan had not budged in acknowledging the child into the family. The child would be the receiving end, caught in a crossfire or clash between them.
Nell listened to Janetâs concerns and shared the same sentiments.
She nodded and said, âJan, donât you worry, Iâll take good care of Sunny. Just go back and focus on dealing with your affairs. I can guarantee you that your child will be in one piece when you return.â
Janet gave a grateful smile.
âI trust you.â
She paused and darted a longing stare at the child before handing him over to Karen. Janet got up and responded, âItâs getting late. I should head back now. Let Karen stay and help you with Sunny. Sheâs been taking care of the child and understands Sunnyâs character. She has the experience.â
Nell nodded in agreement. She instructed Aunt Joyce to make arrangements for Karen and the child before getting up to send Janet off.
âWhat time is your flight tomorrow?â
âEight in the morning.â
âDo you need me to send you there?â
âItâs okay.â
Janet hesitated for a moment and sighed.
âI hope all goes well for this trip. Honestly, Iâm really tired of the year-long silent treatment but I will not compromise on the child. I donât ask for my father to forgive me but I hope he can let go and allow me to take the path Iâve chosen.â
Nell listened with a heavy heart.
Nevertheless, she gave her an encouraging embrace.
âItâll go well, I believe in you.â
After sending Janet off, Nell returned to the room and especially went to check up on Aunt Joyceâs end.
Aunt Joyce had ushered Karen and the child to a guest room and was making arrangements for their upcoming stay.
Fortunately, the house had many baby gear due to Lizzyâs frequent stays.
Moreover, Janet had instructed Karen to bring over necessities so the visit was not too out of the blue.
Once all arrangements were made, Nell took a look at the little bubba.
The bubba was sleeping soundly that even now, he showed no signs of waking up.
The tiny munchkin laid on the cot like an adorable little angel.
With the sight hitting her in the soft spot, she tucked him in and informed Karen, âKaren, Iâll have to trouble you to watch over him tonight. Iâll get a maid experienced with children to come to help you tomorrow. That way, you both can take turns in taking care of him.â
Karen smiled. âItâs okay. Iâve been with Sunny for a while now and Iâm used to it. Itâs fine even if itâs just me alone.â
Nell grinned without continuing the conversation.
With the arrangement done, she went up to look for Gideon.
Gideon was in the study. He asked when she entered the room, âIs everything settled?â
âYes.â
Nell gave it a thought before speaking, âThere are two more days to the New Year. I guess Jan will only return after the New Year celebration and Iâm free for the next few days. I was thinking of having Lizzy come over to stay with us. She can also keep Sunny company.â
Gideon had no comment toward the suggestion.
âSure, you can make the arrangement.â
The next day, Nell went to the Leith Residence.
Lizzy was overjoyed by Nellâs presence.
Her eyes lit up when she found out there was a little brother waiting for her.
âOh, my. Did you and Daddy finally give me a little brother? Does that make me a big sister?â
Unable to hold back her laughter, Nell daubed on her tiny nose and playfully answered, âDonât be silly. Heâs the son of your Aunt Jan. Your mommy and Aunt Jan are best friends so heâs like your brother.â
Lizzy came to a realization.
âMommy, when you are going to give me a real little brother?â
Nell, â...â
Hum...
At the side, the old madam and old master burst out in chuckles. The old madam replied with a smile, âYour mommy and daddy will be able to give you a brother if you donât constantly bug them about living together.â
Lizzy unhappily pouted.
âItâs been a long time since I stayed with Mommy. Isnât it long enough? If thatâs the case, I donât want it anymore.â
Sulking, she then turned her little face and snorted.
Nell thought the child was just adorable. She grinned. âThere are more than twenty days in the winter break. You can come over and stay with Mommy for the entire holiday. Arenât you happy?â
Lizzyâs eye lit up at once but quickly threw a look of doubt.
âReally? Youâre not lying to me?â
Faced with the childâs doubtful eyes, Nellâs chest tightened.
It somehow tugged at her heartstrings.
This child had been through so much. She never knew a mother since she was young and although Gideon loved her so and had all the patience in the world, he was just too busy. The old madam and old master spent the most time with Lizzy.
Hence, she must feel insecure deep inside.
Letting out a soft sigh, Nell kneeled and embraced the child. She said in a gentle voice, âYes, really. When your body is all better, you stay with Mommy every day and never will we be apart, okay?â
Lizzy was overjoyed.
âOkay, I know Mommy is the best.â
Sitting at the side, the old madam watched the scene unfolded with tears in her eyes.
She had to say, Nell was awesome.
In the beginning, she thought that Nell would find it hard to accept this child.
However, it seemed that she selflessly saw Lizzy as her own.
While immersed in her thoughts, the old madam chimed in. âNelly, come with me.â
With that, she got up and went upstairs.
Nell got up and although she was puzzled, she went along.
The old madam took her to her bedroom.
There was an old maid by the last name, Lindbloom, who tended to the old madam in the Leith Residence. Everybody called her Mama Lindbloom.
She had been by the old madamâs side since she was young and had the old madamâs full trust.
During this time, she was tidying up the old madamâs room.
Mama Lindbloom stopped where she was at when they entered the room. She smiled. âOld Madam, Missus, youâre here.â
The old madam nodded. Without shying away, Old Madam Quinton informed her, âHelp me to take out the old sandalwood box from the drawer.â
Mama Lindbloom acknowledged and went over.

However, from the bottom of my heart, I really like you, my granddaughter-in-law.
With you around, I can entrust you with Deon and Lizzy wholeheartedly.â
The way the conversation was heading made Nell frown.
