Chapter 231
Spoiled by the President
âYou still havenât earned me back the money you lost, so why would I be so stupid to divorce you? Silly girl.â
He sounded frivolous yet it sent chills down Celineâs back.
For whatever reason, listening to his words felt like a venomous viper was crawling up her back, slowly moving towards her neck. It was as though it would bite her at the next moment.
She was shocked. She felt his fingers slide down her face and move towards her lips, so she lifted her hand and pushed it away.
âYou sick bastard!â she scolded.
âHaha!â Jason chuckled.
âIf I am a sick bastard, you are the wife of a sick bastard. How does it feel, staying with a sick bastard? Are you afraid?â
Celine tried her best to maintain calm, so she looked at him with a smirk. âI can play husband and wife with you but let me warn you, stay away from me from today onwards, donât you ever lay your fingers on me again.â
She then crawled up and headed to the bathroom.
Jason stood up with a shallow smile on his face. He fished a little handkerchief out and wiped the fingers that had touched Celine earlier before he threw it into the garbage.
âServants! Tidy up the young mistress room and buy whatever she needs.â
After that, he left Celineâs room.
The bathroom was not usable after last night, Celine simply washed her hands and then headed to the guest room.
The servants would tidy up her room and buy her a new mattress as well as all the necessary things.
By the time everything was tidied up, it was already at night and Celine was finally able to return to her room.
During dinner, one of Jasonâs assistants called Celine. He told her that Jason would be staying in the other villa for the time being and would not be back.
There were two servants around Celine when she answered the phone and they could not help but feel pity for the young mistress.
They had only been married for days yet they had already started to live separately.
What really happened? Why could they not talk it over as husband and wife?
However, Celine dully grunted and hung up the phone for dinner.
She was so calm that it was not like her at all.
The servants were worried about her but after observing her for a night, other than being less talkative than she normally was, there was nothing wrong with her.
With that, the servants slowly rested their minds.
At night, Celine sat at the balcony, enjoying the night breeze after dinner.
Suddenly, her phone started to ring and after a quick glance at the caller ID, she quickly answered it.
âYou finally call me.â
The voice from the other end of the call belonged to a woman. The voice softly coughed and said weakly, âIâm sorry, I havenât been feeling well lately, so I didnât have time for you.â
Celine did not show any reaction on her face. âNow do you have the time to help me?â
The owner of the voice was slightly surprised before saying, âOf course, what do you need me to do for you, just tell me.â
âI need you to kill someone for me.â
The owner of the voice was shocked this time as she did not expect Celine to ask for something so bizarre.
âWho?â
âNell Jennings.â
...
Gideon had to go on a business trip for the next few days because something happened to a foreign project.
A conflict had arisen between his company and the local investors, and the person-in-charge of that had fallen sick timely. It was because no one was able to take charge of the situation that Gideon was forced to fly there himself.
Moreover, since Nell had completed the promotional tour for the movie with Tim, she had much more free time at hand.
She was able to help him tidy up his luggage before taking him to the airport herself.
Gideon was happy that his wife was there to send him off. Before he left for the plane, he told Nancy to take good care of Nell.
After she had sent her man away, Nell looked at her watch. Upon realizing that it was still early, she went back to the company.
Xinghui was developing well. Even though its scale was smaller, the artists under its management were steadily rising. On top of that, considering that they had a big investor like Anning International, their future was self-explanatory.
Lucy had participated in several movies throughout the year which skyrocketed her exposure. Her Weibo followers had increased from 3 million to 10 million.
Due to that, Nell had planned to search for Lucy a better script and give her the responsibility as a female lead.
Other than that, several other artists had just completed their online variety show, which was scheduled beforehand. Even though they were not able to secure top positions in various competitions, they had managed to make the audience remember them.
They did not gain overnight popularity but they were able to capture attention, granting them a little over a million fans on Weibo.
Even though it was not a lot, as a bunch of nameless newbies, they were improving.
Happy with how the company was doing after a quick check-up, Nell then went back to Anning International.
Since it was getting late, she brought Nancy along and called it a day.
âNelly, are we going home?â asked Nancy as she drove the car.
âNo, letâs go have dinner.â
Nell would never give up on the rare opportunity to wander around the city.
So they went to the nearby Taoran House for dinner and visited the mall for some shopping.
Nell had heard that Nancy was an orphan, and other than a little brother who was still in high school, she had no one left.
It was early September, the time when a new semester would start for most high schools. Nell accompanied her shopping and bought a lot of stuff as well as clothes for a high school boy. She even gave Nancy a day off to spend time with her little brother before school started.
For that, Nancy was happy. She took the flight that night and went back.
On the second day, Nell went to work as usual.
While she was meeting a client in the afternoon, she bumped into Celine.
It was pure coincidence. In fact, she was meeting her client in a coffee shop before she saw Celine sitting at the booth seat further away.
Nell found it strange but was not overly concerned.
Maybe she was overthinking but she had a feeling that Celineâs gaze felt a little strange today.
Celine looked colder and more resentful.
Nell simply took it as a sign of self-hate, so she did not spare any extra attention on Celine.
After the meeting, she did not return to the company right away. Instead, she hopped on a ride and visited a famous pottery shop on the east side of the city.
She did not know what her man was thinking when he gave her a pot vase a few days ago and said that he had made it himself.
Truth be told, she was not overly fond of the vase. It was not that she did not like pottery but it was poorly made.
Other than the absurd sharp, the painting on it was as ugly as it could be.
However, her man told her that the people that he had painted on the vase represented her and himself along with three more children.
He told her that it represented their future.
As Nell looked at the three poorly painted children on the vase, Nell offered them a moment of silence.
The worst thing was Gideon did not think that the vase was poorly made.
He had even asked her to buy one back for him as he said that it was good manners to return a gift.
Since he had already given her the vase, Nell felt it was inappropriate to do nothing.

With all options exhausted, Nell decided to return the favor and make one for Gideon.
With that in mind, she got into the car and decided to take a nap, but a while later, she realized that something was not right.
