Kashi was sitting on the hospital bed. She was eating the fruits that Prisha had cut for her. Shivansh was walking outside the ward. He was worried. He had called Digvijay ji to come there. Because Kashi wouldn't go to the Pratap palace.
Digvijay ji was also sitting inside the ward. " Thank god my child that you are alright. I was so worried for you." said Digvijay ji while caressing the head of Kashi, " Yeah, I am fine uncle." said Kashi.
Digvijay ji and Prisha looked at each other in confusion. Digvijay ji exchanged a confused glance with Prisha, who was standing nearby. There was something off about the way Kashi addressed him.
" Beta, are you sure that you are okay? Because you call me Kaka right." said Digvijay ji. He knew that Kashi has lost her memory so she wouldn't call him Baba, but Kashi never called him uncle since childhood.
Kashi suddenly flinched and forced a smile on her face. " Sorry Baba. My tongue slipped." said Kashi, " Okay. Take care. We will go to Ajmer today only." said Digvijay ji. Kashi nodded. He came out.
He looked at Shivansh. " I am sorry Shiv, but I have to take her back to Ajmer. It would be better for her." said Digvijay ji, " Sure Papa, take her safely." said Shivansh. Digvijay ji nodded. In the other side, Prisha and Vedant were standing.
" I am sorry Kuver sa, but I have to go and take care of my best friend." said Prisha. Vedant gently squeezed her hand, offering her a warm smile. "Don't worry about me, Prisha. I understand. Kashi needs you right now. Take care of her." he said, his voice filled with genuine understanding and support.
Prisha nodded, her eyes misting over with unshed tears. She leaned in to kiss Vedant's cheek before turning back to the ward, her heart heavy with worry.
The drive to the airport was silent, with only the hum of the car engine filling the void. Kashi stared out of the window, her face expressionless, while Prisha kept stealing glances at her, trying to figure out what was going on. Digvijay ji sat in the front seat, occasionally looking back at Kashi through the rearview mirror, his mind racing with concern.
When they finally arrived at the airport, the hustle and bustle of the terminal seemed to snap Kashi out of her trance. She became jittery, her eyes darting around nervously as if she were being watched. Prisha noticed the change and gently placed a hand on Kashi's arm. "Kashi, are you okay?" she asked softly, her voice filled with concern.
Kashi flinched at the touch, her eyes widening as she looked at Prisha. "I'm fine, Prisha. Stop asking me that." she snapped, her tone sharp and defensive.
Prisha withdrew her hand, startled by the sudden outburst. She bit her lip, her worry deepening. Kashi had never spoken to her like that before. This wasn't just memory lossâsomething else was wrong, something that Prisha couldn't quite put her finger on.
As they boarded the plane, Kashi's behavior became even more erratic. She gripped the armrest with both hands, her knuckles turning white. Her breath came in shallow, rapid bursts, and her eyes were wide with fear.
Prisha leaned closer, her voice gentle and soothing. "Kashi, it's just a flight. You've flown so many times before. There's nothing to be afraid of." she said, trying to calm her down.
But Kashi wasn't listening. She shook her head vehemently, her voice trembling. "No, Prisha, you don't understand! I feel like something bad is going to happen. I don't want to be here." she whispered, her eyes brimming with tears.
Prisha's heart ached at the sight of her friend in such distress. She reached out to hold Kashi's hand, but Kashi pulled away, retreating further into her seat.
Prisha's worry turned into dread. This wasn't the Kashi she knewâthe Kashi who was always composed and brave. This Kashi was fragile, paranoid, and completely unlike herself.
The plane ride was tense, with Kashi barely saying a word. When they finally landed in Ajmer, she seemed relieved, but her anxiety didn't fully dissipate. As they arrived at Digvijay ji's palace, the familiar surroundings did little to comfort her.
The staff greeted them warmly, their faces lighting up at the sight of Kashi. They had all been worried sick after hearing about her accident, and seeing her alive and well was a huge relief.
But their relief quickly turned to confusion when Kashi responded with cold indifference. "Why are all of you standing around? Don't you have work to do?" she snapped, her tone icy.
The servants exchanged puzzled glances but quickly dispersed, their cheerful expressions fading into confusion and hurt. Meenal, the head maid who had known Kashi since she was a child, approached her cautiously.
"Kashi beta, do you need anything? We were all so worried about you." Meenal said softly, her voice full of concern.
Kashi's eyes narrowed, and she folded her arms across her chest. "I don't need anything. And stop hovering over me like I'm a helpless child." she retorted, her words dripping with irritation.
Meenal's face fell, and she stepped back, clearly hurt by Kashi's harsh words. Digvijay ji, who had been watching from a distance, quickly stepped in to diffuse the situation. He placed a reassuring hand on Meenal's shoulder and gave her a gentle smile.
"It's alright, Meenal. Kashi has been through a lot. Give her some time to adjust." Digvijay ji said kindly, though his own heart was heavy with worry. He had never seen Kashi act this way before, and it was deeply troubling.
As Meenal and the other servants retreated, their spirits dampened, Prisha stood in the background, watching Kashi with a growing sense of dread.
This wasn't the Kashi she knewâthe kind, loving woman who treated everyone with respect and compassion. This Kashi was cold, distant, and almost unrecognizable.
After a long day of strange behavior from Kashi, Digvijay ji gathered everyone in the main hall for dinner. The table was set with all of Kashi's favorite dishes, prepared lovingly by the kitchen staff who were eager to cheer her up.
But as soon as Kashi entered the dining hall, she frowned, her displeasure evident. "Why did you make all this?" she asked, her voice devoid of gratitude.
The staff looked at each other in confusion. Meenal stepped forward hesitantly. "We wanted to make you feel at home, beta. These are all your favorite dishes." she explained gently.
Kashi's frown deepened. "I don't care about any of this. Next time, don't make decisions for me." she said coldly, before turning on her heel and walking out of the room.
The atmosphere in the hall became tense, the staff unsure of how to react. Digvijay ji sighed deeply, feeling the weight of the situation. He couldn't understand what had happened to the sweet, caring Kashi they all knew. This new version of her was distant and harsh, and it was breaking his heart.
Prisha, who had been watching the entire interaction, felt a knot form in her stomach. She couldn't stay silent any longer. After dinner, she decided to confront Kashi, hoping to get some answers.
Prisha knocked softly on Kashi's door before entering. She found Kashi sitting by the window, staring out into the darkened garden below. The moonlight cast a pale glow on her face, making her look almost ethereal.
"Kashi, can we talk?" Prisha asked, her voice gentle but firm. Kashi didn't turn around. "What is it, Prisha?" she replied, her tone flat and devoid of emotion.
Prisha hesitated, trying to find the right words. "You've been acting differently since we got back. I know you've been through a lot, but... this isn't like you. You're not yourself, Kashi. I'm worried." she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Kashi finally turned to face her, her expression unreadable. "I don't know what you're talking about, Prisha. I'm fine. You're overreacting." she said dismissively.
But Prisha wasn't convinced. She stepped closer, her eyes searching Kashi's face for any sign of the friend she once knew.
"This isn't about me overreacting, Kashi. You've been rude to everyoneâyou even snapped at Meenal, and you never do that. Something is wrong, and I just want to help you." she pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion.
Kashi's eyes flashed with anger. "I don't need your help, Prisha. I'm fine, and I wish everyone would just stop treating me like I'm broken." she said sharply, turning away again.
Prisha's heart sank, and she realized that pushing Kashi any further tonight wouldn't get her anywhere. She decided to back off, at least for now, but the doubt in her mind had only grown stronger.
"Alright, Kashi. I won't push you. But please know that I'm here for you, no matter what." Prisha said softly before leaving the room.
As she closed the door behind her, Prisha leaned against the wall, feeling a deep sense of unease. Something was very wrong, and she was determined to find out what it was, even if it meant facing some hard truths about her best friend.
The following morning, Prisha found Kashi in the garden, pacing restlessly. She seemed agitated, her movements sharp and impatient. Prisha approached her cautiously, not wanting to provoke another outburst.
"Kashi, do you want to go for a walk? Maybe some fresh air will help clear your mind." Prisha suggested, trying to sound casual.
Kashi paused, looking at Prisha with narrowed eyes. "Why? So you can keep an eye on me? I'm not a child, Prisha." she snapped, her words laced with suspicion.
Prisha felt a pang of hurt but forced herself to stay calm. "No, Kashi, that's not it. I just thought it might help you feel better." she replied gently.
Kashi stared at her for a long moment, her eyes cold and calculating. Then, without a word, she turned and walked away, leaving Prisha standing alone in the garden, her heart heavy with worry.
As the days passed, Kashi's behavior continued to deteriorate. She was increasingly hostile toward the staff, lashing out at them for the smallest things. She even started treating Meenal, whom she had always been closest to, with disdain. The once warm and loving atmosphere of the palace was now filled with tension and unease.
The servants, who had always adored Kashi, now walked on eggshells around her, afraid of provoking her anger. Meenal, in particular, was heartbroken by Kashi's coldness, but she tried to remain patient, hoping that her beloved Kashi would come back to her senses.
Digvijay ji noticed the growing distance between Kashi and everyone else. He tried to talk to her, to understand what was going on, but she shut him out as well, brushing off his concerns with indifference.
Prisha, meanwhile, kept a close eye on Kashi, her suspicion growing with each passing day. She knew something was seriously wrong, but she didn't know how to confront Kashi without pushing her further away. For now, she decided to stay quiet and observe, hoping that the truth would reveal itself in time.
But as she watched her best friend slip further and further away, Prisha couldn't shake the feeling that the Kashi they all knew and loved was slipping awayâand in her place was someone they barely recognized.
