It was almost midnight, Naina and Yuhan were sitting in Naina's room and talking. When there was a knock on the door. They both got startled. " Who could it be at this point at night?" said Naina.
" You have to check first." said Yuhan while looking at her. " Okay. You go and hide in the washroom." said Naina while getting down. Yuhan went to the washroom and closed the door but not complelety.
He wanted to see who it was. There was another knock on the door. " Coming. Wait." said Naina and then came to the gate. She opened the lock and opened the gate. She was shocked to see Kashi there.
" Bhabhi sa, you here?" asked Naina, " Yes, I wanted to give you something. " said Kashi, " What is it, Bhabhi sa?" asked Naina, " Can I come inside first?" asked Kashi, " Yeah sure, come." said Naina.
Kashi came inside. She looked around the room and saw that Yuhan's eyes. Suddenly Yuhan closed the door. Kashi chuckled in such a way that no one heard. Naina looked at the washroom making sure that Kashi didn't see Yuhan.
Kashi held her hands behind her back. She slowly headed towards the washroom. " BHABHI SA, let's sit on the coach and talk. " said Naina. Kashi looked at her and nodded. " Yeah sure." said Kashi.
They both sat down on the coach. " Bhabhi sa, what is it? Is everything okay?" asked Naina, " Yes Naina, everything is okay. This is for you." she said while taking out a box. " Thanks Bhabhi sa, but you gave me a gift in the morning." said Naina.
" This is special gift. " said Kashi. Naina took out a box from the packet and then opened it. She got shocked as a lumba rakhi was kept there. She looked at Kashi in shock with her mouth open.
" Bhabhi sa, what is this?" asked Naina. Kashi held her hand with a smile on her face. " This is for my Bhabhi. Because I couldn't have given it to you in front of your brother but I can give it in front of MY BROTHER." said Kashi.
Yuhan startled inside the washroom. He was also confused how did Kashi knew that he was there. He opened the door and then came out of the washroom. Naina got up. " How did you know that me and Yuhan ji are..." said Naina.
Kashi got up and held the shoulders of Naina. " I knew because I had seen you both together a lot of times. " said Kashi. Yuhan came to Kashi. " Don't tell that idiot about us. He would get angry." said Yuhan.
" Okay Bhaiya." said Kashi when suddenly the door of the room opened. They looked at the door and got shocked because Shivansh was standing there. " Shiv." said Yuhan. Shivansh came inside and stood.
Naina was looking down. " Do you think that I am a fool or what? I am the Hukum sa of Rajasthan and I don't know what MY SISTER AND BEST FRIEND IS UP TO. " said Shivansh. Naina flinched.
" And you." said Shivansh and then pointed at Yuhan. " If you dare to hurt my sister, then I will not leave you." said Shivansh. Naina smiled. " Thanks Bhaiya." said Naina and then hugged him.
Yuhan looked at Shivansh. " Excuse me, this goes same for you too. " said Yuhan, " Oh shut up." said Shivansh while hugging his sister. Yuhan rolled his eyes.
" So, when are you going to make this thing official?" asked Shivansh, " Right now." replied Yuhan, " No, not right now." said Naina, " Yes right now. Come on." he said and then held the hand of Naina and headed out.
" What is happening here?" asked Kashi, " For that, we have to go behind them." replied Shivansh. After that they both walked behind them.
As Yuhan pulled Naina towards the main hall, Kashi and Shivansh followed closely behind, their expressions a mix of amusement and anticipation. The palace was mostly quiet at this hour, with only a few dim lights illuminating the grand corridors. However, the stillness was about to be disrupted.
As they reached the main hall, Dada Hukum, Bhairav, Akshita, and Anita were seated together, engaged in light conversation. Dada Hukum was reminiscing about old times, his voice filled with nostalgia, when suddenly the doors to the hall swung open. The elders turned their heads in surprise.
"What is happening at this hour?" Dada Hukum asked, his voice carrying the authority of his years. His sharp eyes landed on Shivansh, who was leading the group.
"Papa, there's something important that needs to be discussed."Â Shivansh began, his voice calm but firm. Akshita, sensing the seriousness in her son's tone, leaned forward. "Shiv, what's going on? Why is everyone up so late?" asked Akshita.
Yuhan, still holding Naina's hand, stepped forward. "Dada Hukum, Bhairav Uncle, Akshita Aunty, Anita Aunty... I have something to say." His usual confident demeanor was slightly softened, revealing the sincerity in his voice. Naina squeezed his hand, her own nerves evident.
Bhairav exchanged a glance with Akshita before speaking. "Yuhan, what is it? You know you can tell us anything." asked Bhairav.
Yuhan took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "I've been wanting to say this for a while now, but I didn't know how to bring it up. The truth is... Naina and I have grown very close over the past few months. We care deeply for each other." said Yuhan.
Akshita's eyes widened slightly, and Anita covered her mouth in surprise. Bhairav remained silent, his expression unreadable.
"And tonight, we decided that it's time to make our relationship official. With your blessings, I would like to ask for Naina's hand in marriage." Yuhan said.
There was a moment of stunned silence in the room. Dada Hukum, who had been listening intently, slowly rose from his chair. His gaze moved from Yuhan to Naina, then back to Yuhan.
"Yuhan beta, I've always considered you as part of this family, just as your father was like a brother to me. But this... this is a big decision. Are you sure about this? Do you both understand what marriage entails?"Â Dada Hukum finally spoke, his voice soft yet commanding
Yuhan nodded confidently. "Dada Hukum, I am certain. Naina is the person I want to spend my life with. I promise to take care of her, to cherish her, and to make her happiness my priority." he said.
Naina looked at her grandfather with hopeful eyes, her heart pounding in her chest. "Dada Hukum, I love Yuhan ji. I know this is sudden, but he's the one for me. Please, give us your blessings." said Naina.
Dada Hukum looked deeply into Naina's eyes, searching for any doubt, but found none. He then turned to Bhairav and Akshita, silently asking for their opinion.
Bhairav, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up. "Yuhan, you've been like a son to me, and I've always trusted your judgment. If Naina is happy, then I'm happy. You have my blessings." said Bhairav.
Akshita, though surprised by the suddenness of the situation, smiled warmly. "Naina, you've always been my little girl, and seeing you so sure of your choice makes me proud. Yuhan, take care of her, as Bhairav ji said. You both have our support." said Akshita.
Anita, who had been holding back tears of joy, clapped her hands together. "Oh, this is wonderful news! Yuhan, Naina, you two will make a beautiful couple. We should start planning the engagement right away!" said Anita.
Shivansh and Kashi exchanged a glance, both relieved that the family had accepted the news so well. Shivansh turned to Dada Hukum, awaiting his final word.
Dada Hukum, who had been silent for a few more moments, finally smiledâa small but genuine smile. "Naina, Yuhan... If this is what you both truly want, then who am I to stand in your way? You have my blessings. But remember, marriage is a journey that requires patience, understanding, and compromise. Always support each other, no matter what." he said.
Naina's eyes filled with tears as she rushed to hug her grandfather. "Thank you, Dada Hukum. Thank you so much!" she said. Yuhan bowed slightly, his respect for the elder evident. "Thank you, Dada Hukum. I won't let you down." said Yuhan.
As Naina and Yuhan received blessings from the elders, Kashi and Shivansh stood by, proud of their siblings. Kashi leaned towards Shivansh and whispered, "Looks like everything is falling into place." said Kashi.
Shivansh nodded, his gaze softening as he looked at his sister. "Yes, and I'm glad to see Naina happy. She deserves all the happiness in the world." said Shivansh.
The night continued with laughter, blessings, and the beginning of new plans. The family, united in their love and support for each other, felt the warmth of the bonds that tied them together, stronger than ever.
