Taylor stared at her straight in the face, “From the moment I first saw your picture, the second I met you in person, I knew something was going on between us. We must have some past connection.”

Clara lowered her head, “Mr. Atwood, your gut may be off. I don’t have any feelings for you, and I am not into you”

“You’re lying”

“Tim not!” Clara turned around, “Since I’ve seen you today and you specifically asked me out, I’ll just tell you straight. I’m in love with Emmett, my heart’s all his. Forget about any past connection we might have had, even if there was one, that’s water under the bridge, I admit you said I might have had feelings for you, but…with time, I can’t cling to a relationship with no future. I need support and a man to be by my side.”

Taylor felt like a knife was twisting in his chest.

“You’re in love with Emmett?”

“Yes, I love him very much.”

“No way! I don’t believe it.” Taylor took a few steps back. The last time I saw you look at Emmett, there was no love in your eyes. My gut tells me you’re not a woman who settles.”

Clara laughed, “Gut feeling? Is that how you always judge things? Is a gut feeling evidence?”

“Emmett is good to me, accepts all my quirks, nurtures my interests, and is willing to be kind to my child. Why can’t I love him? As for you, Mr. Atwood, since you’ve lost your memory, that’s a chance given by the universe for you to erase the past and start over. Why bother guessing what happened in the past?” Clara turned around, I gotta go, I hope you won’t ask me out like this again, my hubby could get jealous.”

With that, she turned and walked away Taylor stood there, his headache getting worse…

After a moment of dizziness, he sat on the ground, his secretary calling, “Mr. Atwood, are you alright?”

I’m fine, let’s go back to the office.” Taylor waved him off.

“Go back to the office like this? We should go to the hospitall Teresa will worry!”

“If I go to the hospital, she’ll be terrified Taylor frowned, “It’s okay, I just lie in the office for a while.”

-The secretary couldn’t change Taylor’s mind, so he nodded and helped him into the car.

Before Taylor could gather his thoughts, Wanda called.

“Mr. Atwood, they’ve agreed to meet with you! When are you available?”

“Is it a man or a woman?”

“A woman.”

Then let her set the time and let me know in advance; I’ll be there.” Taylor was still a gentleman.

Wanda laughed, “Okay, I’ll tell her that! But she has one request..she hopes you can keep this a secret and don’t tell anyone! After meeting her, act like you’ve never seen her before, and if you meet in the business world, don’t recognize each other.”

“I understand ”

‘Great, I’ll tell her to arrange the time.”

After hanging up, Taylor rubbed his forehead.
