Chapter 2398
The Protector levi garrison
Chapter 2398 Divorce
âAre you sure youâre not mad, father? You want me to charm him?â Queenie asked hesitantly.
âYes, and this is your final chance. You need to get to it now! If youâre even one step late, someone else is going to take him for herself,â the divine brigadier urged.
âWhat? But father, whatâs so good about Levi? Why do you want to marry Queenie off to him? And on top of that, you want her to make the first move?â Edmund asked curiously.
âAlright, shut the f*ck up and get the f*ck out.â The divine brigadier chased his stupid son out. He did not want to hear Edmundâs voice anymore.
Edmund was flabbergasted. His father used to love him to bits, but he seemed to have changed a lot after he came back.
Queenie suggested, âFather, I know why youâre doing this. You want me to marry him because he has great genes, right? You want to get more geniuses out of him, but wonât this make us into a laughing stock? This is a stupid idea. If you really want more new blood, you can always ask Levi to get his wife pregnant again. Youâll get more geniuses, and I wonât have to marry him. Thatâs two birds with one stone.â
The divine brigadier let out a long sigh. The children arenât the ultimate goal here. âQueenie, you have no idea whatâs at stake. Just listen to me for once, will you?â the divine brigadier advised her.
God, she has no idea about the whole situation. Youâll lose out on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if you refuse.
âI can go along with the plan, father. But at least give me a reason.â Queenie still needed a reason to convince her to go along with the plan.
The divine brigadier didnât want to tell her everything, but he could give her a hint. âWhy donât you stay with him for a while. See how he is. Youâll know what makes him special soon enough. Youâll see why I want you to marry him then.â
âIâm sorry?â
âThatâs your mission. Stay with him for a month or so. Not that hard, right? If youâre still unwilling to marry him, then weâll put a stop to this plan.â
Finally, Queenie agreed to it, âAlright. I can do that.â
âThen go to him, now. And keep a close eye on him. Youâll find your answer soon enough.â
Queenie left The Cardinal Hall to see Levi, while Edmund was still out of the loop.
At the same time, Levi came back to the manor, but everyone there glared at him murderously the moment he showed up. The look in their eyes said, âHow dare you show your face here?â
âI can explainââ
Before Levi could say anything, Aaron interrupted, âNo. Just get divorced from Zoey. Times have changed, and none of you have to rely on each other now. Since you have a brighter future waiting for you, just sign the papers and go on your own way. Weâll give you the freedom you want.â
Everyone agreed, âYeah! Sign the papers!â
Leviâs disciples and friends agreed. âNow that we have come to this, you should just sign the papers. Weâll respect your choice.â
â¦
Levi couldnât believe that everyone wanted him to get a divorce. On top of that, all the people he trusted the most were also asking him to sign the papers.
âNow calm down. Let me explain. That old git wanted to marry Queenie off to me, but I never agreed to it. He lied to everyone, and Queenie would never agree to it. Thereâs nothing between us, I swear,â Levi explained, but it sounded flimsy to everyone.
Zoey laughed. âDo you think anyone would believe that? Thereâs no way the divine brigadier would lie. He wouldnât stoop so low for someone like you. Thereâs no way he would. And tell me the truth. What did you do after you left?â
âI went to see that old git. And I beat him up to punish him. Heâs barely hanging on now.â
The news came as a shocker to them, and everyone was understandably petrified.
âWhat? Did you beat up the divine brigadier? Youâre joking!â
Nobody believed him, of course.
âYou can take a look for yourself if you donât believe me,â Levi persuaded.
