Chapter 1507
The Protector levi garrison
It could be said that not a single person in the entire world would be willing to believe him right now, and conversely, in view of his major dereliction of duty, the retention of his position of Crown King itself came into question.
Without sufficient evidence, it would be impossible for him to expose the Four Basilisks.
Furthermore, to try to pit himself against the Four Basilisks who had been hailed as heroes by everyone would be going up against all of Erudiaâa tall order in itself!
âGo on, Levi! Letâs see what else youâve got!â
âDo you think anyone would believe you?â
The Four Basilisks regarded him smugly.
âItâs better to stay grounded, young man. Donât be so covetous,â the Western Spirit said as he patted Levi on the shoulder.
âWeâre sorely disappointed in you, Levi! To think you would attempt to claim credit for yourself!â
âAlright, enough of this! We want to know why you did not go and eliminate the Avengers as we have commanded. What exactly were you thinking?â
In response to being interrogated, Levi was relaxed and smiling. âBetween the Avengers and the Northern Demon, I saw the latter as the greater threat, hence I went to the Ether to face him.â
The observers were all rendered speechless.
âAre you deliberately trying to anger us by still harping on the notion that you were the one who defeated the Northern Demon?â
âIt was clear that you have failed in your duties and committed a serious error of judgement, and still you pretend to have done Erudia a service and try to credit yourself for someone elseâs effort while you are at it?â
The rest of the room was quietly seething as though Levi had pissed off everyone simultaneously.
âPlease open up your eyes and consider the discrepancies, and you will see that thereâs more to this than meets the eye. I, Levi Garrison, ask for no reward nor recognition for defeating the Northern Demon, only justice to be done!â Levi railed.
All the rank and file of the Dragonites howled at Levi in rage. âThis is a very disappointing day!â
âWhy havenât you realized the error of your ways, Levi?â
âHow am I wrong?â Levi scoffed.
âAre you still in the opinion that youâve not erred?â
âHave you eliminated the Avengers?â
The crowd continued to subject him to fervent interrogation.
âBut Iâve removed the far greater threat, which is the Northern Demon!â Levi stated as he regarded the crowd with equanimity.
âYouâ¦â
The council members were almost driven to a fit by Levi who continued to stand firm in spite of everything.
âYou are incorrigible!â
âStarting from now, you shall be subject to confinement! Take the time to reflect, and you shall be released whenever you realized the error of your ways!â
Levi paused before he started to laugh. âConfinement, I can do, but I will not repent as Iâve done no wrong, to begin with!â
âIf you will not acknowledge your wrong-doing then you can no longer serve as Crown King! And you would also be punished severely!â
âGuards. Take him to his cell and leave him there to sober up!â
âFine by me!â snorted Levi.
And so Levi was sent to the detention chamber hidden within Oakland City, an oppressively small room measuring all of a hundred square feet in size.
A guard even offered him some advice. âPlease loosen your lips, Crown King. With your contributions toward Erudia, our superiors will not make things difficult for you so long as you demonstrate that you are remorseful.â
Levi replied with a smile, âJustice shall prevail! As my conscience is clear, I believe the truth would reveal itself in time!â
That drew a chuckle from others. âHowâs that possible? Everyone knows that the Four Basilisks killed the Northern Demon. What evidence do you have against them?â
