"Itna peene kisne diya ise?" Abhijeet questioned Radhika, barely controlling his anger.

Who let her drink so much?

He reached their university as soon as he can and to his utter surprise Kavya was completely wasted. She wasn't even in her senses to stand on her own.

Radhika and a drunk Kavya were standing in a corner with both of them about to pass out at any movement. Kavya had her head resting on Radhika's shoulder.

"Pi hum sab ne hai but iski thodi zyada ho gai. Please gussa mat kariye." Radhika tried explaining Abhijeet.

We all have had drinks but she had a bit too much. Please don't get angry now.

He shook his head at the girl's condition. She was tipsy herself, surely not in any condition to take care of her best friend.

"Tum dekh raiho Kavya ka haal?" Abhijeet said as he grabbed Kavya's wrist and pulled her to himself. He wrapped a hand around her frame and took all of her weight on himself. He looked down at Kavya who slowly rested her head on him.

Are you even looking at her condition?

"Mai thodi der nahi thi aur isne itni pee li, woh bhi bina kuch khaaye." Radhika said as she looked at Kavya who nuzzled her head in Abhijeet's chest.

I wasn't next to her for a few moments and she drank so much, that too on an empty stomach.

"Mai isse ghar le ja raha hu. Aao tumhe apne ghar drop kar deta hu." Abhijeet offered.

I'm taking her home. Come, I'll drop you to yours as well.

"Nahi! I mean, isse aap uske ghar nahi le jaa sakte." Radhika said as he didn't meet eyes with Abhijeet.

No! I mean, you cannot take her to her place.

"Kyu nahi?" Abhijeet asked with a cocked up eyebrow.

Why not?

"Woh, humne iske ghar par jhooth bola tha k wo mere ghar rukne wali hai." Radhika confessed.

Cause we lied to her family. They think she's having a night out at my place.

"Amazing. Aur kuch?" Abhijeet sarcastically said but got mildly surprised when Radhika nodded her head in yes.

Anything else?

"Kya?" Abhijeet questioned. He was getting annoyed at the stupid stunt these two pulled.

What?

"Isse mai apne saath apne ghar nahi le jaa sakti." Radhika said, still not meeting Abhijeet's eyes.

I cannot take her with me to my place as well.

"Kyu?" He questioned.

Why not?

"Mere parents humara wait kar rahe hai. Maine to ghar pohachne tak normal ho jaungi par isse kaise le jayenge?" Radhika said pointing at Kavya.

My parents are waiting for us. I'll be sober by the time I reach home but how will I take her inside?

"To ye cheez peene se pehle nahi sochni chahiye thi?" Abhijeet said, getting irritated at both the girls' carelessness.

Shouldn't you have thought about this before drinking so much.

"Mujhe thodi na pata tha ke Kavya madam itna sara pi legi. I thought 2 drinks lenge aur phir 2 ghante mai utar jayegi to ghar par problem nahi hogi." Radhika said and lightly flicked Kavya's forehead.

How was I to know that Kavya ma'am would drink so much. I thought that we'll have about 2 drinks and in 2 hours we both will be sober so we won't have any issue going home.

Abhijeet pulled her away from Radhika so as to not get her hurt.

"Kamal hai. Ab mai kya karu? Krishna ko pata chala to tum dono se zyada mujhe sunayega ke maine usse bulaya kyu nahi." Abhijeet said.

Amazing. Now what am I to do? If Krishna finds out about the whole scene, he'll give me an earful for not giving him a call.

"Ek kaam kar sakte hai." Radhika suggested.

We can do one thing.

"Kya?" Abhijeet questioned.

What?

"Aap ka jo penthouse hai, waha vese bhi koi nahi hota. Aap isse waha le jaiye aaj ke liye. Kal subhe mai driver ke saathe usse wahi se pick kar lungi aur uske ghar drop kar dungi as if hum dono puri raat saath me hi the." Radhika suggested.

You have a penthouse where no one lives anyways. You can take her there for tonight. Tomorrow morning I'll pick her up with my driver and drop her off to her place as if we were together the whole night.

Abhijeet scrunched his eyebrows and fell in thoughts. It would be highly inappropriate if he took his best friend's sister to his penthouse at 3 in the night especially when she's drunk.

"Kya soch rahe hai Abhijeet? Koi aur option nahi hai hamare pass." Radhika said as she kept a hand on his shoulder.

What are you pondering over, Abhijeet? We do not have any other option before us.

"Sach bolne ka option zaroor hai." Abhijeet said with a sarcastic smile.

We do have the option of telling the truth.

"Kyu marvane pe tule hai aap? Please help kardene. Aaj ke baad aisa kabhi nahi karenge, kabhi bhi nahi. I solemnly swear." Radhika said.

Why do you want us to be dead? Please help us. We'll never repeat this in the future, ever.

"That I'm upto no good." Kavya mumbled in a low tone but it was clear enough for the other two to catch on.

"Ye koi time hai 'Harry Potter' quote karne ka." Radhika shook Kavya's body and an involuntary smile formed on Abhijeet's lips as he looked down at her face.

Is this the time to quote 'Harry Potter'.

"Abhijeet please." Radhika requested.

"Okay fine. Par kal subhe time par aa jana isse lene." Abhijeet pointed at Kavya.

Be on time tomorrow morning to pick her up.

"Pakka. Thank you so much." Radhika said with a smile on her face.

For sure.

"Kavya chalo." Abhijeet nudged her to walk but she simply let out a grunt in response.

Come one.

"Utha lena isse please." Radhika said and Abhijeet huffed. That was the only option left right now so he did.

Pick her up please.

Keeping one hand under her knees and the other on her back, he effortlessly picked Kavya up in his arms. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and further nuzzled her head in the hollow of his chest.

"Chalein?" Abhijeet asked Kavya who just hummed in response.

Shall we?

"Chalo." He replied to himself and started walking towards where his car was parked with Radhika following behind him.

Let's go.

Once they reached his car, he unlocked it and Radhika opened the passenger side door. Abhijeet carefully placed Kavya on the seat and closed the door.

"Tumhara driver kahan hai?" Abhijeet turned towards Radhika.

Where is your driver?

"Call to kar diya tha mene. Aata hi hoga." Radhika said and immediately after saw her car from afar.

I have already called him. He must be on the way.

"Aa gaya. Aap jaiye abhi, agar usne dekh liya to sawal poochenge. Mai keh dungi Kavya apne ghar chali gayi." Radhika said and Abhijeet nodded.

He's here. You must leave, if he sees you he'll ask questions. I'll just say that Kavya went home.

He was mentally facepalming himself at the ease at which she was fabricating lies.

"Theek hai. Ghar pohche ke call kar dena." Abhijeet said and sat in his car. He started the engine and left before Radhika's driver noticed his car.

Okay. Give me a call when you reach home.

He noticed how Kavya was rubbing her palms in the length of her arms and so he turned on the heater in the car. Given the hour at which he was driving, the streets were practically empty and he raced towards his penthouse.

He had bought this penthouse of a building downtown which he used to get away from his family and friends from time-to-time. Only elected few knew of this location. It was more of an investment as he himself rarely used it.

As they reached the building, Abhijeet parked in the underground parking and walked towards passenger side. He opened the door and picked Kavya up again and closing the door, walked towards the lift.

With a bit of inconvenience, he pressed the button of his floor and walked out once they reached.

He put Kavya down yet kept an arm around her to provide support. He thankfully had the key to this apartment with him and so he opened the door after unlocking it.

"Aa jao, Kavya." Abhijeet looked down at her and tugged at her wrist to pull her inside.

Come one, Kavya.

"Nahi. Mujhe utha lijye." She mumbled, still a bit tipsy and threw her arms around his neck.

No. Pick me up.

Letting out an inaudible sigh, he picked her up just like before and walked inside. He kicked the door close and walked straight towards the kitchen.

He gentled placed her on the high-chair by the kitchen island and poured her a glass of water. Since she was seated, her head reached his and she once again nuzzled her nose in the crook of his neck.

Abhijeet took a sharp inhale of air as he felt her breath hit his neck. He was wearing a shirt with the first two buttons undone and for that he was mentally cursing himself.

"Kavya, idhar dekho, meri taraf." He lightly shrugged her shoulder and heard her let out a chuckle.

Kavya, look here, look at me.

"Aur kaam hi kya hai mujhe. Aapko dekhne ke alawa aur karti hi kya hu mai." He heard Kavya said and furrowed his eyebrows at her choice of words.

And what is my work if not that? What else do I do except looking at you?

"Ye piyo." He said as he tipped the edge of the glass towards her lips. She smiled at him and drank the water.

Drink this.

"Koi kuch bhi de, pi nahi lete." Abhijeet said as he kept the empty glass on the table.

No matter what anyone gives you, you shouldn't drink it.

"Aap zeher de to bhi pi lu mai." Kavya said as she stared into his eyes.

I'll even drink poison if you make me.

"Kya matlab?" Abhijeet asked.

What do you mean?

"Haan. Aap ko hi apna sab much man liya hai. Jab mai hi aapki ho chuki hu, to aapko apni jaan dene mei kya harz." Kavya said as she cupped his cheeks.

Yeah, you are everything to me. When I am wholly yours myself, then what's the problem in giving you my life?

Abhijeet stood there shocked to his core at her words.

"Tumhe pata hai tum kya bol rahi ho?" Abhijeet asked and Kavya nodded her head with a smile.

Do you even realise what you are saying?

"I love you Abhijeet. I always have." Kavya confessed and offered him a smile.

"Jab se hosh sambhala hai, aapse pyaar kiya hai. Aapke alawa kuch nahi dikhta mujhe, kuch nahi pata mujhe. Utni shaamein humne saath nahi bitayi jitni raatein meine aapke khwaab dekhe hai." Kavya said with a bitter smile on her face. Abhijeet was too stunned to speak so all he did was listen.

Ever since I've gained consciousness of the world, I've loved you. Apart from you I don't see anything, I don't know anything. We haven't spent as much time together compared to the number of nights I've spent dreaming of you.

"Lekin mujhe pata hai aap mere liye aaisa nahi sochte. Aap itne kaamyaab, honhaar aur sacche hai jab ki mai? Mai to kuch bhi nahi. Mai layak hi nahi aapke." The rest of her sentence was cut short as Kavya was pulled to a strong chest. His arms around hers and their faces closer than ever.

But I know you don't feel the same for me. You're so successful, talented and truthful while me? I'm nothing. I'm not worthy of you.

"I love you too, Kavya. More than you'll ever know." Abhijeet and the next thing he knew was her lips on his.
