Chapter 41
Struggle in Ancient Times
This magnificent school, Liao Ming felt he had made the wisest decision in his whole life to send youngest son study here. There were few students in their village, but very little of them could study with youngest son and only his son was admitted as a scholar.
This was indeed a worldly difference between his son and other peopleâs sons. He wanted to keep the schoolâs image in his mind, then ran back to the village to brag away with those people. Let them knew, the grandiose school his son taught now.@@novelbin@@
Liao Tingyu accompanied his father to walk around the school. Liao Ming gradually became quiet after being so excited. They came to the front building where the students read and being taught. Although, the class hadnât started yet but some students already wandering here and there reading their books.
Liao Ming saw the well-dressed clothes of those students; their clothes were beautiful and newly made. Some even wore a jade pendant, hung a pouch and long tassel. He looked at his own son; there was no accessories on his body, the clothes were already old and the colour couldnât be seen after washing so many times. Even though, there was beautiful embroidered patterns by his wife, old clothes were still old clothes.
Liao Ming felt his heart was sore and his mood was a little down. They walked to another place, he quietly said, âYoungest son, why donât you go and buy new clothes? Um, you also get some accessories. You can buy a new hair crown; you have different status now. Itâs time to change it.â
âOkay. Father, I know it.â Liao Tingyu only wore a headband on his hair with a little jade on it. At that time, mother Deng gritted her teeth to buy it. It was fine to wear it as a student but now he already a teacher and the headband almost a year old. The colour faded away, even jade wasnât that bright anymore.
Liao Tingyu wasnât someone who treat himself bad, so he agreed immediately.
Liao Ming took his ox cart and went back home alone. At first, Liao Tingyu wanted to keep his father and ate here but Liao Ming didnât want it. You have to pay for food here, a simple meal was five wens. It was better to go home and ate his wifeâs cooking.
.
Liao Tingyu didnât care much about his attire, but his father mentioned it. Well, he had to care about it now. Liao Tingyu opened his closet and looked at his own clothes; then he found out he was a little shabby.
Anyway, he looked like a gentleman with handsome face but his clothes were painfully so-so. How could he be dragged down by clothes? However, back then he went out with Zilan and his clothes was worse than this but Zilan didnât dislike him.
Hehe, Liao Tingyu hugged his clothes and smiled foolishly. If someone saw him, they probably thought a young and handsome man turned stupid.
Liao Tingyu took out his private money and looked at the contract under the silver taels. Well, they were still a few days before he could get money from the bookstore.
.
Liao Tingyu went out to buy clothes and hair crown. A person relied on his good clothes and good horse; this was a good wisdom.
Once he put on the new clothes, he really felt energetic. He confidently stepped out of the store amidst the compliments from the staff.
.
âHuang-xiong, you are still so busy.â Liao Tingyu walked around Huang Haoâs study room and saw he was working hard.
Huang Haoâs brain wasnât very good but he was thinking vigorously. Liao Tingyuâs voice interrupted his train of thought.
Huang Hao looked at Liao Tingyu in dismay, âWhy are you making noises so suddenly? Didnât you see I was busy with something? What was the thing that I thought just now? Ah! itâs all gone!â Huang Hao roared from the depth of his soul.
Liao Tingyu listened to his angry voice and touched his ears uncomfortably, âYou are a big man, arenât you ashamed screaming like that? Itâs not like the sky is falling. How have you been these days?â
Huang Hao didnât care much, anyway Liao Tingyu rarely said a good thing for him.
âYou came at the right time, come here. Help me settle these accounts. Donât me any penny or you will pay it.â Huang Hao felt that Liao Tingyu was too smart, it was a shame this labour force couldnât be used by him.
Liao Tingyu sat on the shopkeeperâs seat while Huang Hao leisurely read a novel, âI donât know how this writerâs brain work? Itâs so interesting, Liao-xiong, do you think people can really fly?â
Liao Tingyu who turned his ears deaf: â¦â¦ âItâs six thousand wens.â
âHey, Iâm talking to you. Why are you ignoring me?â Huang Hao said dissatisfied.
âRemember, you have to pay me one tael for this.â Liao Tingyu said confidently, âAnyway, Iâm hungry. Letâs eat something, I want roast duck.â
âI understood, good sir, you wait a bit. I will get it.â Huang Hao replied respectfully and put down his book.
He went to his uncleâs restaurant casually, âShopkeeper, bring me a roast duck, stir fried vegetables and two bowl of white rice. Iâll take it home.â
