“Pei Ge, do you believe me or not?”

Qu Jingwan’s eyes brightened as she looked at Pei Ge. “Or did you guys already know?”

Qu Jingwan leaned back and continued, “That’s right. What else can you hide from your eyes in the capital? If my granny really did something that made you guys feel embarrassed, I’m afraid you guys would have already come up with a countermeasure.”

Pei Ge merely nodded her head and quickly ran into the elevator.

After the incident at the hospital, Ji Ziming did not return home for a night. He stayed at the police station the whole night. Although Pei Ge was at home, she was really nervous and did not rest well.

“Madam, the CEO is not in the office.”

The elevator doors opened and Pei Ge was about to enter the CEO’s office when she was stopped by the secretary at the door. The secretary said with difficulty, “The CEO should still be in the police station.”

Pei Ge’s heart was in her mouth. What was going on? She had specially paid attention to the news this morning and thought that Ji Ziming would be at the company by now, but he was not there.

Ji Ziming raised his head and looked at Pei Ge. His eyes lit up like stars in the dark night sky. They were so bright that they could only be seen in Pei Ge’s eyes. His eyes were actually so gentle when he looked at her.

Pei Ge walked forward but did not notice that Ji Ziming was being put in a spot. Instead, she felt that he was making things difficult for others. A man in a police uniform sat beside him as he nervously searched for something on his computer.

There was a picture of a woman lying on the computer desk.

“Come, sit here.”

Ji Ziming waved his hand and signaled for Pei Ge to walk over. The moment she reached his side, she was pulled into his embrace by Ji Ziming, who was sitting on the sofa. Although his actions were rough, they were gentle.

“Be more mindful. This is the police station.”

Pei Ge said softly but did not look at the people around her.

It seemed that Ji Ziming was the only one in the room who could speak. Everyone else had their backs facing them nervously.

“Do you know who that woman is?”

Who the dead woman was had nothing to do with Pei Ge.
