Chapter 1547 - Willing to Give up Everything for Her Sake

Huang Zhian had his hands and legs cuffed, making every movement difficult for him. Coupled with his arm having hung suspended for some time, he no longer had any strength left to resist right now.

“Let go of me! Quickly let go!”

Seeing that Pei Ge was now safely in her man’s embrace, he cursed, “You sl*t! I should’ve killed you!”

He Xing was in a difficult spot, for the man ordered them to capture this guy and to interrogate him. With a shocking incident coming to light, he had no choice but to suspect that the man had a pair of eyes which could see things others could not. “Was everything he had said earlier recorded?” asked Ji Ziming while examining the injuries of the woman in his arms.

“It’s been recorded. Not only do we have a recording of his voice, we even have a video of him.”

“Great. Submit it all to your superior to have this guy sentenced. He doesn’t have anything to do with us now. Remember: Don’t let anyone know that my wife’s injured. This can only be done in the dark; the fewer people who know about this, the better it is.”

The man instructed calmly before carrying Pei Ge out of the interrogation room. “I’ll send my wife to the hospital now. Handle this situation well; I’ll get people to check on this case’s progress.”

“Yes, sir. Have a safe journey to the hospital. Madam’s injury needs immediate attention.”

The police officer took a quick look at the woman’s neck but was met with the man’s cold orbs. He quickly shifted his gaze from her to the guy being subdued by his subordinates. “Take him down. No one can visit him without my permission. Huang Zhian, just wait for the court to mete out your sentence!”

“Ptooey! Old crook, you’ve got no right to do this to me. Let me tell you—”

Pei Ge could not bother to listen to the guy’s words as her mind was full of when her man had saved her. She had seen the love and worry in his eyes. He actually hid it so well that she even doubted his love for her.

She even doubted if she had loved the right person; thankfully, though, everything reverted to its norm.

“Don’t be afraid; you’ve got me. I’ll bring you to the hospital right away.”

He walked so fast while he was carrying her, such that he was close to flying. The distance between the police station’s entrance and the car felt so far. Seeing blood seeping out of her fair neck, his eyes were dyed red.

As for that Huang Zhian, who had dared hurt his woman, he would certainly make him pay for it!

“I’m okay; don’t be anxious.”

The woman sounded feeble, making her words seem like her parting remarks to him.

“Don’t think anymore; I’ll bring you to a hospital right away. Stop speaking for now and conserve your energy as I send you there fast.”

He could not bear to listen to her feeble voice. Compared to the anxious atmosphere earlier, he was more afraid of something bad happening to her now. She seemed so vulnerable in his arms that his heart hurt so much.

The car sped to the nearest hospital, and with a call from him, all the traffic signals were paralyzed to show only the red light. His car, which was the currently only one speeding on the road, was like a fish flying on the surface of the ocean, leaving all the others behind. It took him less than five minutes to get from the police station and the nearest hospital to the emergency room.

Sitting outside the emergency room, the man was restless and worried. He had the strong urge to dash inside and check on her injury.

The doors to the emergency room finally opened and the emergency light dimmed. Nurses in pink uniforms wheeled his woman out as her doctor walked toward him while removing his mask. The man blatantly ignored the smile in the doctor’s eyes.

“Sir, your wife is fine now; she’s bleeding so much earlier only because her skin was torn. Please be at ease.”

“Is she really fine now?”

He was still worried. He only sighed in relief when he saw the nurses wheeling his woman into a VIP ward.

“It’s fortunate that the cut in her throat was shallow, causing only quite the bleeding. Your wife is truly fine now; just wait for her to wake up.”

“Alright. You may leave.”

After saying that, he walked straight into the VIP ward. Pei Ge was deep asleep and did not sense his tight grip on her hand. How he wished that he could replace her and be the one who was lying hurt in bed right now.

“Ge Ge, why are you so dumb? Didn’t you know that that guy wanted to lure you there? If we couldn’t get him to talk, we could always investigate it ourselves. Why try to save him until you end up like this...”

The rest of his questions were lost when he felt choked.

The phone rang; the call was from a stranger.

“Sir, this is He Xing. We’ve been interrogating Huang Zhian, but he just wouldn’t talk no matter what. I could only give you a call because of this. Is madam better now?”

The superintendent was standing not far from Huang Zhian, so the man could hear the guy’s screams. Every shout of that guy was blocked.

He spoke. “She’s alright. Since you’re unable to get anything from him, just hand him over to your superior. He’ll know what to do.”

He Xing hurriedly agreed.

He was transferred here from a county, but he did not wish for this transfer, as before he came to this precinct, others had told him that there was someone called Ji Ziming in the capital. The man hung up and turned to look lovingly at his woman. He was willing to give up his expensive cars, his millions—even his entire wealth—as long as she stayed by his side.
