“What?” She felt that she must have heard wrongly. It looked like her attire even needed the man’s approval.

“Do you not hear me?” The man’s eyes darkened as he narrowed his eyes at her. In his low and cold voice, he said, “I don’t like it.”

She rolled her eyes at him and could not help but ask, “Then, should I be wearing long sleeves, long pants, and high boots?”

“Then, you should properly savor this honor. Wait here for me; I’ll be back fast.”

“Mhm.” She nodded gravely, as though her life were in his hands. As the man got up off the sofa and picked up his suit coat, she found that her stomach was not cramping in pain anymore. At that moment, she was being coddled in his love. If not for the small pain in her stomach reminding her, she might already be lying in his embrace and speaking sweet-nothings with him.

“The supermarket downstairs should have that, right?” After he was done putting on his suit coat, he put on a baseball cap that he had retrieved from the office wardrobe. The low-hanging baseball cap surprised her. Is this still the man I know?

“Why? Do I look weird?” Noticing the change in her expression, he faced the mirror and adjusted his attire again.
