Chapter 276
Presiden's wild wife
âI donât need his love.â What kind of love was that? Only the one who was obedient to him would get his approval and affection.
That was ridiculous.
Yolanda opened her mouth. What Logan had said was unbelievable to her. In her mind, Logan would never say that. And he was more and more different with the one she knew.
Being quiet, Elena held Loganâs hand tightly, âWe should go. Arenât you going to meet Roger? Itâs late.â
âOkay.â
âElena!â Yolanda shouted out hurriedly, âAren't you afraid that youâll ruin him?â
Elena blinked her eyes and did not know what Yolanda meant at first. But then she realized Yolanda was referring to Logan. She smiled broadly, âThen itâs not up to you.â
Yolanda blushed as she was angered by Elenaâs indifference. âYou are so arrogant just because youâre Loganâs wife. If it werenât him, do you think you really have the right to be haughty in front of me?â
âYouâre right.â
Elena replied bluntly, âI never say I have nothing to do with him. Iâm his wife. And itâs reasonable that he would try to protect me. Are you feeling jealous of me?â
âAre you out of your mind? Why would I be jealous?â
âWell, then Iâm wrong. I wonder maybe you are being disgruntled because you donât have a boyfriend and you are not the spoiled child in the Browns.â
âElena! What are you saying?â
Yolanda rounded her eyes, as if she wanted to eat Elena alive.
Elena gave her a smile, âNothing. We have some urgent business to attend to, so we need to go.â
Yolanda still wanted to say something. But George grabbed her hand with a scowl, which stopped her, âGrandpa...â
âLogan, you may go now.â
âOK.â
Logan nodded his head, âJacob, bring in the supplements we bought for George, then we donât need to come to send the supplements next time.â
Jacob nodded and went out to take the stuff.
Yolanda also left in anger. George looked at the upstairs and then stared at Logan, saying in an undertone, âLogan, I know what youâve done recently, and I know you must have done these for some reasons...â
âGrandpa, youâre overthinking it.â Logan denied with a smile, âAll I want to do is to expand the business of KL. Itâs not that complicated.â
George gazed at him for a while, then he said with a sigh, âOK, then. Have it your own way.â
After they left the Brown's Villa, Logan squeezed Elenaâs hand and said, âI drive you home at first. Then Iâll go home after I come to meet Roger.â
âOkay.â Nodding, Elena knew he would spend much time talking with Roger when they saw each other, especially about his legs.
When Logan came to Roger, Roger looked at him with guilt in his eyes. Logan observed his look and then said, âRoger, you still think that the operation failed was because of you?â
Roger did not have any response. But there was something in his eyes showing that Logan was right.
âJacob, go out. And do not let anybody come in.â Logan said in a cold voice.
Following Loganâs order, Jacob walked out and closed the door.
Roger was bewildered, âWhat are you doing?â
âRoger, I want you to pretend that you never see what youâre going to see. And do not even mention it in front of anyone...â Logan said with his deep eyes.
Roger was still puzzled. Then Logan stood up and pushed away his wheelchair.
âLogan!â
Roger was so shocked and excited that he almost fell from his chair, âThatâs unbelievable! When do you recover?â
âThe first operation did not fail. It was a successful operation. But I lied to you.â
Roger asked with sharp eyes, âYou keep it secret from the Browns on purpose?â
âTo some extent, yes. But it is over now. All have been settled.â Logan said casually, as if he was talking about todayâs weather.
Rogerâs heart jolted, âIs there anything I donât know? What happened to you recently? What youâve done attracts considerable attention in H City.â
âNothing, itâs all over.â
âIs it because itâs too complicated, or because I canât know?â
Logan gave him a smile, but he did not answer. Then he asked, âThatâs not important. I just want to ask you, have you met Joanna Lake?â
âJoanna?â
Frowning, Roger seemed recalling, âIsnât she Elenaâs mother? Why do you mention her abruptly?â
Logan was surprised. But then he hid his feeling before Roger knew it, âNothing, I suddenly think of her and want to ask you.â
Roger looked at him with suspicion. But Logan was quite self-possessed as if he had not asked Roger that question.
âLogan, I donât know what had happened to you these days. But I want to tell you, no matter what happens, I will always stand by your side.â He patted Loganâs shoulder and repeated the words he had said to Logan countless times.
Loganâs lips compressed into a thin line. He kept that in mind, then he raised his head and asked Roger again, âAre you familiar with Edward?â
âYes, we are good friends for decades. We know everything about each other. Thatâs also the reason why I want to introduce him to you.â
Logan said with a scowl, âEverything?â
âYeah!â
Roger answered briskly, which made Logan frown deeply.
Roger looked at his face and then asked, âWhat happened? Is there something wrong with Edward? But he doesnât tell me.â
âNo.â Logan shook his head and said with indifference, âI terminated the agreement. The Fords thought something went wrong.â
Hearing that, Roger was more confused, âWhatâs the matter? Logan, is there anything that you donât want to talk? You can tell me everything. And I wish you can trust me whole-heartedly.â

Logan interrupted his word, âNo, I terminated the agreement because we couldnât reach a consensus. Itâs my problem. The Ford Group has nothing to do with that.â
âImpossible! Youâre not the one who tend to go back on your word. Youâll never sign the contract with them and then suddenly change your mind.â
Roger stood up in excitement. But Logan suddenly gave him a smile and shook his head, âYouâve thought better of me. There is one reason. My wife was abducted by Kent several days ago. I did these because I didnât want to have any connections with him.â
