Chapter 189
Presiden's wild wife
Logan was thinking with a serious look. Elena touched his face gently, âAlright. Donât think too much. It doesnât help at all. Anyway, itâs none of our business.â
Logan replied with a nod. But he was still confused.
When they arrived home, it was dark outside. Logan wanted Elena to have a rest first. But Elena didnât want to sleep alone.
âI can wait for you.â
âYou donât have to. Itâs too late.â He said in a mild tone.
Elena was finding excuses, âWell, I am hungry now. I havenât eaten anything tonight.â
Logan looked at her. He gave in, âAlright. Iâll cook for you now.â
âNo, thanks!â She stopped him, âYou must be tired now. Iâll do it.â
Then she went to the kitchen. Logan followed her, âItâs cold now. Youâd better not use the cold water.â
Elena opened the fridge. When she saw the food inside the fridge, she smiled to him, âWell. I think neither of us needs to do the cooking.â
She took a step back and let him have a look. The fridge was filled with ready-made food. âIt must be Mia. She did this for us.â
Logan nodded, âThen heat it in the microwave. Call her tomorrow. Let her know that she doesnât have to do this for us these days. She should take good care of her family and herself.â
Elena put the food into the microwave, nodding, âOK.â
They had all the food that night. After the meal, Elena didnât want him to get back to work. So she persuaded him to have a good rest.
The next day, when they woke up, they found that someone paid a visit to them. It was Grandpa George. Elena was so surprised, âGrandpa? Why are you here?â
Grandpa George was happy to see Elena. âYou get up too late! Iâve been here for the whole morning.â
âWhy do you have the key to my house?â Logan asked in a cold tone.
Grandpa George smirked, lying, âWell...I...I asked Mia to give me one.â
âYou duplicated it in secret, right?â Logan caught Grandpa George in a lie.
Grandpa George looked embarrassed, but quickly, he composed himself, trying to look serious, âForget it. I heard that Emma committed suicide, didnât she? What happened?! Tell me now!â
Elena was a bit shocked, âHow do you know it?â
âCome on! Itâs breaking news! How canât I know it?â Grandpa George answered.
He went to the hospital for a body check. And one of his acquaintances working in the hospital told him that his grandsonâs wifeâs family committed suicide and now was staying in the hospital. He was so shocked. He wanted to know more about it so he rushed to them at once.
Logan frowned, saying in an indifferent tone, âWhy are you being so gossipy? Itâs none of your business.â
âBad boy!â Grandpa George was irritated by his cold attitude, âIf you donât tell me, I will ask Mason instead! He will tell me everything!â
Elena didnât want him to know too much. So she gave him the runaround, âItâs about the Bushes. Leave them alone. Iâll send you home now.â
âNo! I wonât go anywhere before you tell me everything!â Grandpa George didnât agree. It seemed that if they didnât tell a word, he would never leave their house.
Logan was sullen, âGrandpa. Go home now! Iâll tell you when time is right.â
âWhy canât you just tell me honestly? What do you want to hide from me?â
âGrandpa!â
Logan was irritated by Grandpa Georgeâs stubbornness. His face even darkened. He repeated, âGrandpa. Go home now, please.â
Grandpa George turned to look at Elena, but saw her pale face. Seemingly she wouldnât tell a word to him.
He was so confused now, but he couldnât do anything to get the answer from them. âIf you donât tell me, Iâll go to Mason. I believe that he knows the truth!â
âGrandpa...â Elena tried to persuade him, âCould you please go home now? Donât worry about it. After everything settles down, we will tell you later in detail. But not now. We donât know what really happened, either.â
Though Grandpa George wasnât happy about it, he agreed with Elena at last.
Elena said patiently, âDonât worry about it. And donât ask anyone about it, especially Mason. Just live your life as usual.â
Grandpa George looked at them with confusion. He sensed that there was something wrong. But he couldnât tell.
Logan said in a cold tone, âWait a minute. Iâll ask Jacob to send you home.â
âNo, thanks. I have my own driver.â Grandpa George refused Loganâs kindness. Then he said in an unhappy tone, âElena. I know you are a good girl.
You are sensible and kind. But youâre just too tender, which will be your weakness. You canât just keep everything to yourself. You might get hurt for this.â
âGrandpa...â
âAlright. I know what you are going to say. âI will tell you later.â Right? Just as Logan said! Is it funny to piss me off?â
Elena felt a bit guilty. But she was unwilling to talk anymore. She hadnât told him the truth that she wasnât Masonâs biological daughter, or what Emma did to her.
Grandpa George waved his hand, âOK! I wonât push you! Now Iâll go home and leave you alone. Alright?â
âOh!â Grandpa George added, âI wonât stay at home. I will ask Cornel to book a flight ticket for me. I will go abroad!â
Logan looked at him helplessly, âWhat do you want to do?â
âWhat can I do? I am unhappy and now I need to relax myself. Itâs a good idea to travel abroad!â
Elena nodded, âGreat. Then I will arrange the trip for you.â
Grandpa George was pleased by Elena, nodding. Then he left happily.
After he left, Elena felt relieved, âHow did Grandpa know about it? Did everyone know? I am afraid that...â
âTake it easy. Grandpa knows what to do.â Logan didnât worry about it.
Elena didnât doubt his words and decided not worry too much.
While Emma was in the ward now. Mason went out to get breakfast for her. And the care worker wasnât there, either. So she was left there alone. Her blank eyes seemed to light up.
She lowered her head and looked at her heavily dressed wrist. The next second, she curled her lips, smiling meaningfully!
