𝐀𝐓 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 . . .

Many of the students gather in the hallways of Swellview Jr High School as they chattered and laughed like usual after the bell had rung to dismiss them for today.

A H/c haired teen makes his way down to the first floor of the school with a persistent bianca on his trail as she followed him down the stairs.

"Come on? please just tell me." The girl begged desperately while the male shook his head and Y/n sighed.

"No." He replies as he stepped over to the water mountain by the wall on the left and he reaches his hand over to push the button on the side.

He leans down to the water's level right about to take a sip when Bianca tugs him back to spin him around to face her by placing a hand on his shoulder.

"But I tell you all of my crushes..!" She whined unfairly to him as Y/n straightens up as he shot her a knowing look when she pouted in front of him.]

"Are they really crushes if it's a new person almost every week?" He told her with a slight furrow his brows as he tilts his chin upward and her lips pursed at the question before rolling her eyes.

"Besides, aren't you dating blake?" He asked her curiously but also in accusation as he moved to cross his arms over his chest. She blinked before shaking her head and a grin quickly replaces the pout on her face..

"Correction! We're seeing each other, which is very different from dating." She explained with a playful hum and then she reaches over to grab his arm as she held it.

"Now tell me which girl you like and I'll stop asking you." She mentioned as she grinned at him encouragingly and laughed casually.

"I just want to help you out." The brunette girl insisted as Y/n stared at her for a moment when she had asked him an easy question.

A simple and easy question he still couldn't quite answer and also found difficult to explain for the other opposite party.

Y/n found himself lost in thought and zoning out when he had forgotten that he hadn't actually told her about his sexuality yet.

She presumes he's straight and interested in girls like every other boy in Swellview as he almost found himself back at the orphanage internally.

His thoughts a bit preoccupied by the bad memories and backlash he received from kids he thought were his friends.

His lips parting to speak as he averted his gaze to the floor and he found himself hesitating.

"Right.. Uh.." He mumbles as he felt his stomach churning and his brain going fuzzy at worst possible outcomes that could occur.

He truly didn't want to lose Bianca as a friend or make her uncomfortable in any way and he cleared his throat.

"Bianca, I need to--"

"Hey Y/n! Hi Bianca!" Jasper shouted from across the the hallway as Y/n's shoulders stiffened at the sound of his voice startling him before he sighed and Bianca turned around.

The two spotting Jasper waving at them with Henry and Charlotte standing beside him as they walked towards Bianca and Y/n.

Y/n glancing at the other two before his eyes fell on Henry and then he moved his gaze back to the curly haired boy.

"Oh, uh.. hey guys." He greeted awkwardly when they approached and he finally felt Bianca's hand on his arm loosen as he also let out a quiet breath of relief.

"Are you guys coming to the Meat Ball this Friday?" Jasper asked them as the H/c haired teen blinked and then rose his brows in confusion.

"..Meat Ball?" Y/n repeated as he frowned and Charlotte nudges Jasper on the side and he turns to her before gasping in realization as he looked back at the teen.

"Oh right..! I forget you've only been here for almost a year at this school." He mentioned with a knowing nod as Charlotte sighed while shaking her head and she faces Y/n.

"The Meat Ball is a school dance our school holds almost every year to show our gratitude to the middle east or asia for its delicious varieties of meat. And giant meat balls are our main dish." She explained as Jasper nodded beside her and Y/n nods in understanding.

"Ah.. Got it." He commented as he managed a brief smile and the curly haired boy grinned in response.

"Well? Are you going?" Jasper asked him eagerly as Henry glances between his friends and Y/n with anticipation wondering if the teen will accept the offer to go.

"Well I kinda just wanted to uh.. you know--" Y/n began nervously as Bianca pondered before gasping as well and she turns to him.

"Oh right! You didn't get to come to club soda with us for valentine's day did you?" The brunette questioned with a bright smile as Y/n fumbles to form any excuse he could think of.

"That's righttt! He didn't." Jasper added as he pointed at the H/c haired teen while the other two watched and Bianca squealed.

"This is perfect! Come on, It'll be fun." Bianca pleaded as she began to beg and Henry glances at Y/n.

"So will you?" The girl asked him again as the teen looked at each of the four and his lips slowly parted to speak.

"Yes! Can you believe it?" Henry exclaimed excitedly as he paced around his living room with Charlotte sitting on the couch playing a game on the transparent tablet.

"He said--he was going to the meat ball and not on some random mission Schwoz will send him to this time. Oh man.. this amazing! That means he can go as my date." He explained as the blonde smiled widely at his own words and Charlotte glances up at him with a knowing look.

"Yeah, I was there. You know...listening." She told him with a long pause in between her words as she rolls her eyes and she furrowed her brows.

"Are you sure you're gonna ask him? I mean.. you did tell me you kissed his cheek that same night when you three captured the rest of the Wall Dogs. You'll end up chickening out." She told him as she squinted at him curiously and the short boy turns to give her a small frown.

"Chicken out? I've never chicke--" He trailed off when they heard the front door open as the two turn their heads to look at Piper who strolled inside.

The door closing behind her as they watched the little girl approach them with a shiny decoration laying on the top of her scalp.

Henry blinked when his younger sister walked past him as she stops between both him and Charlotte.

"Uh.. what's on your head?" Henry slowly asked her as he frowned at her in confusion while crossing his arms and the little girl faces him.

"A glass hat! I just got it." Piper announced as Charlotte moved to stand up behind her and she gestures at the hat on her head.

"Oh yeah, I've heard of those." Charlotte spoke as Piper nodded at her in agreement and Henry raised his eyebrows questioningly.

"What is a glass hat?"

"It's a hat...made of glass." Piper briefly explains and made a small pause in her words and Charlotte looked at the boy.

"A lot of celebrities are wearing them."

"Okay! Well, congrats on your glass hat, but Charlotte and I are having a conv--" Henry said as he gestures between him and Charlotte as the little girl gasped to interrupt him.

"Guess what!"

"What?"

"--Don't care." She blurted as she carefully walked around the coffee table making sure the glass hat doesn't fall from her head and left him standing there in disbelief.

Henry then shook his head again with a sigh and he walked toward Charlotte as he places a hand on her shoulder and the two sit down on the couch.

The blonde looked behind Charlotte as he watches Piper move into the kitchen and then he turns back to the girl beside him.

"As I was saying, I do not chicken out." He told her in a low voice as he frowned at her offendedly and Charlotte rolled her eyes.

"I'm gonna ask him, you'll see.." The blonde mentioned confidently as she sighed at his words and threw him a knowing glance.

"Really? You're seriously gonna ask him before you even tell him about..you know." She stated while motioning her hands at him and Henry froze before averting his gaze.

"I don't know what you're talking about." He shortly replied in denial as he gave her a small shrug and she groaned at him before continuing.

"I'm talking about your Wall Dog friend, Veronika? That graffiti girl you mentioned kissing and complimenting her long eyelashes--In front of Y/n." Charlotte explained as she gave him a short recap and he winced at the memory.

"That--!"

He moved to stand up as he cleared his throat and then turned to face where she sat on the couch.

"That was undercover kissing." He spoke in a low tone as the girl squinted and she moved to stand to her feet as well.

"What?" She questioned as she furrowed her brows and the boy huffed as he moved closer while making sure Piper was still busy in the kitchen.

"I was being Kid Danger and my job was to get information out of her." He murmured as he took a step back with his hands on his hips and she scoffed.

"And what information were you trying to find out? What her mouth tastes like?" She whispered accusingly as she raised her eyebrows and the blonde threw his head back in annoyance while rolling his eyes.

"AHH!" Piper let out a loud shriek in the kitchen after inspecting the inside of her glass hat closely and the two raised their heads to look.

"There's a smudge on my hat!"

"Hey, where's the glass cleaner?!" She yelled out as Henry pondered for a moment and then he nudged his head.

"Check the garage." He told his sister as the little girl nods and she neatly places her glass hat on the counter top as she left the kitchen to go to the garage.

"Okay, this whole thing is about Y/n, not Veronika." Henry began as he turned towards Charlotte and his arms fell back to his sides as she squints at him.

"Uh-huh.. and Y/n is acquainted with Veronika." She mentioned and his lips parted to argue back before firming shut knowing she had a point in the argument as she let out a breath.

"And when was the last time you saw Veronika?" Charlotte added as she questioned the blonde's whereabouts and the boy hesitated.

"I don't know... Maybe last week, once!" He answered swiftly as the girl tilted her head while giving him another knowing look.

"..or three times. I don't remember! But I was only meeting with her to ask her more questions about Y/n's past." He huffed as he scratched the back of his neck nervously and walked past her.

Charlotte shook her head in disapproval as the front door opened and Jasper quickly walked through the door.

"Hey, Charlotte!" He greeted as the girl looked up and watched the curly haired boy rushing past her to approach Henry as she threw her arms up lightly.

"Henry, I've been thinking about your mom's chili all day!" Jasper confessed truthfully as he stood in front of the blonde and Henry slowly squinted his eyes at him.

"Okay..?"

"Is there any left? Can I have some!?" Jasper pleaded the boy desperately as Henry blinked and he nodded while pointing in the direction of the kitchen.

"Yeah, there's some left in the fridge." The blonde explained as Jasper's eyes lit up with thrill and excitement as he grinned.

"Awesome!" He answered as he moved past him and he jogged toward the kitchen happily.

"Chili, chili, chili, chili." He sang a tune to himself as he stopped in front of the fridge and Henry turned towards Charlotte with a puff of his cheeks.

"You know, I don't think you're being very fair here." Henry commented as the two continue to debate in lowered voices and Charlotte frowned at him.

"Henry, hiding things from Y/n isn't gonna solve anything. It's better to tell him about Veronika rather than just keeping it a secret forever." She mentioned as Jasper moved around inside the kitchen after grabbing the food container with Mrs. Hart's leftover chili.

"..The thing is that--I'm not sure if Y/n even wants anything to do with her." The blonde explained as Jasper opens the container and he looks up as his eyes land on the glass hat across him.

"She's a Wall Dog now who vandalizes buildings and paints graffiti. And Y/n is his own hero who puts criminals like her in jail.." Henry added as he shifted awkwardly in his spot from one leg to the other.

Jasper reaches over to grab the makeshift glass that he immediately assumed was a bowl at first as he used it to serve himself some chili.

"..And you think it's right keeping the other person from reuniting with someone they knew? Especially when the other person wants to see them again so badly." Charlotte stated as she tried to sway and convince him into doing the right thing.

Jasper held the glass in his hand that he poured chili into as he placed it inside the microwave and then set the time.

"Maybe Veronika wants closure.. that's all." She explained as she stared at him and his gaze met her own as he took a deep breath and then he exhaled.

"I guess you're right.. maybe I should tell him." He murmured as Charlotte nodded in agreement and Piper returns to kitchen with the glass cleaner in her hand.

She stops walking as her eyes land on the empty spot where she left the glass object and she sets the glass cleaner to the side.

She blinked in confusion as she walked a couple steps further into the kitchen and approached Jasper.

"..Have you seen my glass hat?" She questioned and the curly haired boy turned to look at the girl as he raised his eyebrows in wonder.

"Your glass hat?"

"Yeah.. I left it right here." She tells him as she gestures toward the spot on the counter she previously left it on.

Jasper squinted as he pondered for a moment before chuckling lightly in response.

"I saw a bowl." He retorted as he shrugged and took a step back to walk around the counter as he looked down his phone.

"A bowl.." She mumbles as the boy was already walking away and she frowned in thought.

She paused as her eyes widened like saucers and she quickly ran after him as she spun him around.

"Did you use my glass hat as a bowl!?" She exclaimed accusingly as Jasper raised a brow and he looked up at the ceiling.

"Uh..."

"Where is it?!" She shouted hurridly as the curly haired boy frowned and he gestures towards the chili heating up in the microwave.

"It's in the microwave!" He replied as he frowned in response to her yelling and she gawked at him.

"What?! It's not microwave safe!!" She shrieked and screamed at him in disbelief as his lips parted to argue.

"Well, how was I supposed to know--!" He began as he leaned his hand against the counter and the microwave crackled before it explodes.

The explosion sending both of them to the ground, including Henry and Charlotte who heard the sound and felt the shaking impact from across the living room.

There was a small silence afterwards as a couple seconds past and Piper slowly moved to stand to her feet as she quickly runs over to the burned microwave.

Her hands reaching inside as Jasper stumbles to his feet as well and he makes his way over as he watches her pull out two shards of broken glass.

He stood there awkwardly as he glances up at her angry expression and he felt his shoulders stiffen.

"..I'm sorry I broke your hat." He replies quietly as Piper stared at him angrily with rage building up in her chest.

Henry walked through the entrance of Swellview Park in his Kid Danger uniform as he looked around the public area before taking out his phone.

He was close to swiping at his lockscreen when Veronika suddenly hops down from above as she lands right in front of him and he let out a startled scream.

"AH!" He shouted in surprise as he nearly drops his phone in his hand by her sudden appearance out of thin air and she smiled mischievously.

"Hi." She greeted the short blonde as she snickered at his reaction and Henry hesitantly looks up at the clear dark night sky above them.

"..Where'd you come from?" He questioned as he turned his head to look at her with a very confused and concerned expression.

"Doesn't matter.. so what's up?" Veronika asked him as she chuckled and raised her eyebrows at the boy curiously.

"Oh, uh nothing..."

"I was just curious about something and--" Henry's words trailed off when he glances down when he notices how the moonlight seemed to hit the shiny cold steel metal of the spray paint can tucked into her back pocket and he frowned.

"Wait a sec.. are those cans of spray paint?" He asked the Wall Dog as Veronika looks over her shoulder to see what he was looking at and then she turns to him.

"..yeah, so?"

"You promised! I thought we agreed no more graffiti." He told her as the girl shrugs carelessly and a smirk crawled to her lips.

"Sorry, It's just in my nature." She explained as the sidekick shook his head in disbelief and he stepped closer.

"You know, I could've taken you to jail with the rest of the Wall Dogs." He reminded as the Wall Dog's amusement falters and she tilted her head.

"But you didn't."

"I let you go on two conditions, that you'd stop spraying graffiti all over Swellview and that I'd help you find the person you're looking for." He proceeded to explain as the girl rolled her eyes at him and she scowled.

"Yeah--And so far you haven't kept your word. So why should I do what you tell me to if--!" Her loud shouting cut off by an old man closing his book as he stood up from his spot on the bench to interrupt them.

"Hey! Hey, you kids. Over there!" The old man shouted at the two as he came into view and the two turned around to face him.

"Yes?"

"Are you two bickering?" He asked while pointing his cane at them as Henry and Veronika glance at each other silently.

"..Well, yeah."

"Sort of.." They mumbled together as the old man shook his head and he scoffed at the two.

"Well stop it!" He huffed in disbelief as the blonde stared at him silently in shock and Veronika found the situation oddly amusing.

"This is a park! Not some football field!" The old man criticized as he lectured them for being too loud and Henry bravely took a step forward.

"Sir...this park is for all citizens of Swellview to use and enjoy and if this young lady and I want to talk loudly.." Henry answered as he gestured between him and Veronika and the Wall Dog nodded in agreement.

"Then we have every right to--" His words cut off by the old man grabbing a nearby rock and throwing it at his chest as the blonde paused before turning to Veronika.

"Let's go somewhere else to talk." He tells her as the Wall Dog nods as Henry walked the opposite direction and she followed him.

"That's right! Just cross off." The old man berated in frustration as he watches them begin to leave the park.

"And sadly, according to city officials, there were no survivors." Mary Gaperman spoke behind the news desk beside Trent Overunder who shook his head slowly.

"Got to be more careful." He added with a firm of his lips as there was a short pause before he continued on with the next topic and he turned to the camera.

"In other news yesterday, Swellview's own Captain Man was att*cked again by the elderly woman who's come to be known as "The Mad Granny." He announced with his hands clasped and sitting on top of the desk.

"It happened at a junior high school yesterday as Captain Man was speaking to kids about the importance of climate change." Mary clarified as Trent turned to her and nodded in agreement as the clip of incident started to roll.

"You see, climate is like our weather.." Captain Man called as he talked into the small earpiece and microphone hanging close to his mouth while he spoke with the students.

"And when it comes to weather, the last thing you want is change.. Because change is bad." He mentioned as he looked at each of them while pointing a finger at everyone standing in the hallway.

"Now, sometimes change can be good--like changing your underwear. That helps everyone." The taller hero explained as he remained unaware of the grandma sneaking up behind him as she shuffled closer and closer.

"But with climate, change is our enemy.." He commented with his back turned towards the mad granny as the old woman took the opportunity to smack him with the pink umbrella.

"What the--OW! AHH!" Captain Man shouted when he felt the object hitting his head as he fell to the ground and the grandma continued to smack him repeatedly.

He screamed and shouted as he reached for the camera recording the entire thing.

The clip ends as it showed Mary and Trent laughing behind the news desk after watching the video.

Their laughter dying down as the man cleared his throat and he chuckled in amusement before continuing.

"Anyway.. speaking of Captain Man, he'll be on hand tomorrow in Swellview Park, where the Vice Mayor will be hosting the official dedication of Swellview's first public bathroom that was built way back in 1898." The man explained as he turned his chair slightly to face Mary.

"Mary, you know that bathroom." He added knowingly as the woman nodded with an awestruck expression.

"I do.. so many memories." She whispered as she remembered those times while looking off into the distance and Trent gave her a puzzled stare.

The people in Swellview have now gather outside the park public restroom where the ceremony was being held.

As most of the citizens took their seats on the chairs upfront while the others stand around to grab snacks from the food stalls available.

Henry and Ray show up together in their superhero suits as the man glances around cautiously while looking over his shoulder a couple times.

"Dude, stop being so paranoid." Henry told him while holding a nearly half finished lemonade drink in his hand as he turned to the man.

"Oh, easy for you to say! You don't have a crazy old lady running around, whacking you with an umbrella." The hero snaps at him as he looked around and then shook his head.

"Relax.. As your sidekick, I got your back today. I'm watching everything like a hawk." Henry told him while looking down at his drink as he reached his hand over the lid to swirl the straw between his two fingers.

Ray watches as the blonde lifted his drink up to his eye level while still stirring and looked inside the cup.

The man has enough as he snatches the drink from the blonde's hands and Henry watches him throw the straw to the side in shock.

He hands the boy his drink back as the sidekick kept his eyes on the taller male and the two make eye contact.

Henry moves his hand up to take off the lid as he pops the drink open and he slowly lifted the cup to his lips.

"Stop that!" Ray scolded him as he gritted his teeth and began to shoo him away with his hands.

"Now, go! Survey the park..! Make sure the Mad Granny's not here." He ordered as he ushered him to leave and the blonde took a few steps forward with a sigh.

"And tell *H/n* to go keep an eye out as well." The hero told him as he emphasized on the teenager's hero name and he frowned.

"I know he's not working today but we need all the eyes we have to catch this crazy grandma." He added as the blonde doesn't hesitate to nod at his request.

"Okay!" He spoke as he began to walk away to go scope the area and he looked around the crowd for anything unusual or skeptical.

"--Yeah. I'll take some popcorn in a souvenir toilet." The curly haired boy spoke in front of a popcorn stall as he gestured at the souvenir with the dollar bill in his hand.

Henry made a huge circle around the park as he walked out from behind the face hole cutout board of Kid Danger, H/n and Captain Man.

He lifts his drink to take a long sip as his eyes wandered and he nearly spits out the lemonade in his mouth when he spotted Y/n talking to Blake.

'..Y/n?' He swallowed quickly as he pulls the cup back down and he watches the two interact for a moment.

The two were standing on the other side of the park as they chatted together and Henry immediately throws his drink into a nearby trash can.

He moves his hand into his pocket to reach for the mini binoculars he brought as he held them over his eyes to spy on the two.

Henry watches as Y/n tried to explain something to the Blake while he popped some popcorn into his mouth from his own souvenir he bought.

They both talk for a bit before the H/c haired teen offered some of his popcorn to Blake as the other male smiled and he nodded as the two began to share.

The interaction not sitting right with the blonde as he continued to point his binoculars in their direction in disbelief.

"They.. They're sharing popcorn..!" Henry sputtered almost as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing and he quickly pulls binoculars down with a pout.

He turned his attention away from Blake and Y/n to go find Charlotte as he moved through the crowd.

He finds her talking near the left side of the public restroom with three other kids that went to their school as he stomped over.

"Uh-huh! It was hilarious." She tells them as the sidekick pushed past them and he approached her.

"Pardon me." He spoke firmly as Charlotte turned to look at the blonde with furrowed brows.

"Why are you interr--ouh!" Her words trailed off as she yelped when he suddenly grabbed her by the arm and dragged her away, leaving the other three she was with a little confused.

The crowd began to settle around with food and drinks in their hands as the mayor finally walked up to the podium.

"All right! Thank you all for being here to witness this official dedication of our city's very first public restroom built way back in 1898." The man explained into the microphone as the citizens cheered and clapped while the photographers took pictures.

"And now I give you our very own Captain Man." The mayor called as he took a step back from the podium and the crowd began to cheer for the hero as well.

Captain Man walked out from the right side of the public restroom as he waved and greeted everyone.

He steps up on stage as he shook hands with the mayor first before turning to greet a woman with a bright pink button up shirt and the other men who sat on stage and wore business attire.

The taller male then turns around to face the crowd as he approached the podium and he glances up.

He nearly does a double take as his soul almost left his body when he swore he recognized the old woman in the crowd.

"Oh god, the Mad Granny!" He yelled as he pointed a finger at the grandma accusingly and he reaches for the laser in his pocket.

"Eat this, lady!" Ray shouted as he shot her with a very strong green laser to her temple and she screamed in agony.

The crowd gasped in horror as some of them covered their heads out of sheer panic and they witness the grandma wailing in pain while covering her face.

The mayor quickly making his way over to her side to check on the woman before realizing something and he turned to look at the hero.

"This isn't the Mad Granny..! It's my mother!!" He exclaimed as the male stiffened on stage made an 'O shape with his mouth.

"...Oh. Well, then no need to apologize." Ray mentioned as the mayor continued to console his mother sitting at the front of the crowd.

Henry guides Charlotte back to his previous spot as he turns her in their direction and he pointed at them.

"Look! That blarf guy is at it again and this time sharing popcorn with Y/n." He complained as he clicked his tongue in disgust and the girl shoots him a look.

"...It's blake."

"Okay, first of all. I don't care!" He hissed as Charlotte rolled her eyes and she frowned at the sidekick.

"He's a super nice guy! And you're obviously exaggerating like the last time.." She explained as her words clearly struck a nerve for the boy and the blonde scrunched his nose.

"Who--cares if he's nice!?" He snaps back as he puffed his cheeks and he shot a glare at both Blake and Y/n.

"He can't BE next to him!"

"Why not? You two clearly aren't dating and you haven't been honest with him lately." Charlotte remarked as she crossed her arms over her chest with a raised brow.

"And frankly, you don't deserve him." She replies honestly and the blonde gaped at her response in pure shock as he fumbles to answer.

"I-I too can be honest! I just..." He trailed off as he made a slight pause to collect his words before continuing.

"--Haven't found the right time to tell him anything." He said as he gave her another poor excuse and the girl sighed in disapproval.

A man in the crowd begins to wrap the old woman's eyes with a blue blindfold as the hero turned to the mayor.

"..Can I go ahead and get started?" Captain Man finally asked the mayor who was sitting on one of the chairs on stage and the man in the suit gave him a weird expression.

"Yeah, sure." He replies as the hero nodded and he turned away to face the crowd as he cleared his throat and stood in front of the mic.

"Bathrooms go by many names." The taller male commented as photographers moved their cameras up to take pictures every now and then.

"Such as, the restroom. The John. The Head.." He listed as many of the citizens began to listen to his speech.

"The Potty and the Toidy."

"Tinkle town." The hero went on and on as the citizens nodded their heads in agreement when he named the restrooms formally.

He continued to give his speech as Piper held her phone up to record and take pictures of Captain Man.

The curly haired boy then ran over to her as he calls her name and tapped her shoulder while trying to squeeze his thighs together with a visible grimace.

"Hey, Piper. You know where there's a bathroom?" Jasper quickly asked her as he kept his voice in a low tone and she turned around to look at him.

"Don't talk to me! You broke my glass hat." She tells him as she gave him a frown and he winced.

"I said I was sorry..! Now, come on. I really need a bathroom." He pleaded as the little girl gestures towards the one up front where Captain Man stood.

"There's one over there."

"That's the one they're dedicating. They won't let anyone go in there." He explained as he grunted and she furrowed her brows at him.

"Okay, just go around the back and use the girls' bathroom." She replied as she shrugs her shoulders and she turned away to listen to the speech.

"But that's for girls..! I'll get in trouble if I go in there." He mentioned as Piper sighed loudly before turning around to face him again.

"Noo.. I'll come stand guard and let you know if someone's coming." The little girl explained as Jasper doesn't hesitate to nod in agreement and he winced.

"..Okay! Thanks! Come onn." He said hurriedly as he handed her his popcorn souvenir he bought earlier and he ran off as Piper follows.

"It was 30 years ago, my dad had taken me fishing." Captain Man spoke in the background as the sidekick points his binoculars back at Blake and Y/n.

While Y/n was listening to Ray's speech, Blake leans forward to whisper something into Y/n's ear as the H/c haired teen listened and then stifled a laugh.

"Oh, mann!" Henry whined as Charlotte remained standing beside him and she turned her head to glance at him.

"What?"

"The guy blarf just whispered something to Y/n and he laughed." He fussed as he lowered his binoculars down and he scoffed under his breath.

"That jerk.. I bet it wasn't even that funny." He murmured in a slight huff as the girl rolled her eyes next to him.

Piper and Jasper make their way around the public restroom as they stop outside the girls bathroom.

The curly haired boy whimpers and grunts as he continued to put his bladder on hold and he hurriedly turns to the little girl.

Piper ushers him to go inside with a small nod of her head to give him reassurance that she'll stand outside.

He nods as he quickly heads into the girls restroom without a second thought and she waited for a moment to make sure he was fully inside before turning to walk away with a smug and revengeful expression.

"That's when my dad told me about Swellview's oldest public restroom. This bathroom was a--" Captain Man announced as Henry lifted his binoculars back up to keep spying on them.

"And now their elbows are touching! What do they think this is, their honeymoon?!" Henry rambled in frustration as he throws an arm up in disbelief and Charlotte turns to look at the crowd up ahead.

"Uh, Kid Danger.. Isn't that the Mad Granny?" She asked him as she nudges his side and he turns his attention towards the front where he indeed spotted the old woman with his binoculars.

"We must all be thankful." Ray added as he remained umaware of the grandma stumbling towards him and Henry sets his binoculars down with a wince.

"Uh-oh."

Y/n had noticed her as well as he thought for a moment and then turned to blake to excuse himself before walking away.

"And in the words of the great Sammy Davis Junior--" The taller male said as he was interrupted by the mad granny smacking him upside the head yet again with the umbrella.

The hero shouted in pain after being caught off guard with his back turned as he fell to the floor and the crowd gasped while the granny continued to beat him.

Piper arrives immediately back to the girls restroom with two police officers as she pretended to be terrified.

"He's in there! I told him it was for ladies only, but he went in anyway.." She explained to them worriedly as she held onto the souvenir in her hand and she grimaced.

"And I think he has a knife!" She added in horror as the two police officers give each other a nod before storming into the girls restroom to grab the boy and he let out a boyish scream.

Piper hears this as she calmly turned to walk away with a look of satisfaction and she sneered.

"That's for my glass hat.."

The hero continued to grunt and get beaten in front of the crowd as the photographers kept taking pictures.

Y/n eventually arrives after changing into his hero costume as he moves towards them.

The old woman turns her head and sees him approaching as she took this as an opportunity to flee.

She drops the umbrella on Ray as the taller male attempts to grab at her leg and she quickly slipped through his grasp to run away.

"Ugh! Come onnn!" He exclaimed angrily as he groaned and gritted his teeth as Y/n ran up to check on him.

"--You alright?" He asked him as the taller male nodded and lifted his head to look up at the H/c haired teen.

"I'm fine! Go after her." He ordered as he reaches a hand backwards to rub his back and Y/n nodded.

Y/n runs off to go catch up with the old woman as two civilians move closer to help Captain Man up.

"I'm okay."

"I'm ookay." He uttered as he rubbed the back of his neck and the blonde weaved through the crowd to go stand next to him.

"Hey! Don't worry, I'm here." Henry reassured him as the hero turned his head to look at the boy with a bitter expression.

"...Thanks."

Henry and Charlotte sat on each end of the man couch which was rotated to face the direction of the monitors as a video of the ceremony played in the background.

"We must all be thankful. And in the words of the great Sammy--" Ray stops pacing around the mancave as he pointed the remote at the monitor to play the clip in slow motion.

"Sammy... Davis... Junior--! Agh!" The taller male shouted in the video as he was knocked down by the old woman's umbrella and then video paused.

"See, what we learned there is that when an old lady wants to beat me..!" Ray calmly began to explain as he spun around and gestured his hands at himself while slowly walked towards the couch.

"And you're not paying attention!" He stated as he let out an irritated laugh with a forced smile and Henry lowered his head when the man steps closer.

"What happens to old Ray?" He asked the boy who had turned his head away to avoid eye contact and his legs bounce underneath the man table.

"You get beaten.." The blonde murmurs quietly under his breath as the man moved behind his seat and leaned his elbows against the top of the couch.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Ray questioned one more time as he cups a hand over his ear to hear the boy and Henry lifted his chin upward.

"You get beaten." He replies again as the taller male nodded and a forced grin crawled to his features.

"I get beaten!! Yeah!" Ray scolded and he pointed the remote back at the monitor as he played the remaining seconds of the clip.

"..And the beat goes on." Charlotte commented as she removes her arm off the top of the couch and she sighed.

Henry shakes his head as he moved to stand up and he approaches the monitors silently as the video comes to an end.

Charlotte and Ray gave each other a silent glance before the girl looked down and the taller male returns his attention back to the blonde.

"You know, Henry, when I picked you as my sidekick, it was because I thought I could always count on you to be by my side." Ray mentioned as he places his hands on his hips and walked over to stand in front of him.

"I mean, it's in the name! Sidekick.." He tells the younger boy as he emphasized on the word 'sidekick' and Henry turns around to face him.

He leaned his weight back against the half circle desk as he crossed his arms over his chest and averted his gaze.

"Why'd you let me down?" Ray asked him curiously as he frowned in disappointment and the blonde lifting his head to look up at the hero.

"Because... I got distracted." Henry managed to say as the man blinked and raised his eyebrows at him in confusion.

"Distracted? Distracted by what?"

"More like whom.." Charlotte retorted behind them as she remained sitting on the couch and blonde rolled his eyes at her.

There was a brief silence as Henry hesitated for a moment before he sighed and his lips parted to speak.

"I...I saw Y/n there."

"Y/n? Of course he was there! Almost everyone in town was for the ceremony--" The taller male replied as the blonde shook his head and his brows furrowed.

"That's not what I---forget it." Henry said as he gave up on trying to explain and he huffed in frustration.

Charlotte sets her drink to the side as she moved to stand up and she made her way over.

"Y/n was with some guy from school." She explained as the man turned to look at her and he tilted his head.

"What, you mean with that super handsome new guy?" Ray questioned as Henry scoffed and squinted at the taller male.

"He's not super handsome."

"I was told he's super handsome." Ray claimed as the blonde raised his eyebrows and he straightened up.

"Who told you that?" He questioned as the man awkwardly turned his head towards the girl and Henry followed his gaze in disbelief.

Henry threw her a look of betrayal as the girl coughed into her hand and she averted her gaze nervously.

"Wait. So why do you care exactly?" The hero suddenly asked him as he moves his attention back to the short boy and Henry shrugs in response.

"I don't."

"Then what was all that about?" Charlotte questioned as Henry's lips firm slightly and he turned away.

"Nothing.."

"Then why were you so--" Ray trailed off as the blonde doesn't let the male finish as he spun around to face them.

"Because I like him!! There! Is that what you wanted to hear?" Henry exclaimed as he threw his arms up and he squeezed his eyes shut.

"I really, really like him!" He tells them as his cheeks flushed a bright pink and he places a hand on his forehead.

"I like him..! Like a lot. A lot." Henry added as he swallowed the lump forming in his throat and he moves to the side to slump back into the red chair near the monitors.

"..Ah, Life is hard." He whined as he brought both of his hands up to cover his face in embarrassment.

Charlotte shakes her head slowly as the man sighed and he steps forward to stand in front of the boy.

"Look, kid. Nobody knows the joy of many relationships better than I do." Ray explained as he gestures at himself and Charlotte somewhat nodded in agreement.

"So if you really feel that way then what's stopping you? Girls.. Guys. Whoever you want to date." The man commented as Henry places his hands down on his lap.

"But when you're Kid Danger, you have a responsibility. Don't let me down again." Ray lectured as he pointed at him and then uses the remote to open the large gear shaped door.

Henry watches him leave as the blonde slowly moves to stand up and he let out a long sigh.

"All right.. I know what I have to do." He murmured as the girl approached him and she crossed her arms over her chest.

The H/c haired teen laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling with his earbuds in his ears as he thought about the situation that occured earlier.

𝐅𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊;

Y/n weaved through the citizens as he ran quickly to catch up with the granny and he stayed hot on her trail.

The old woman runs fast for her life as she makes way through the trees and hedges that were in her path.

Y/n shook his head in annoyance as he decides to take another path and he followed her despite the obsticles he came across.

He hops over a bench as he nearly bumps into an elderly couple and they nearly gasp as he winces at the close call.

"Sorry!" He shouted as he ran off and then spotted a familiar pink sweater ahead as he hops over a short garden hedge.

The old woman looked over her shoulder and she growled as she continued to go straight.

Her gaze landing on a tall chain fence up ahead as she ran towards it and she comes to a stop to try climbing over it to escape.

Y/n had finally reached up to her as he quickly hops up to grab one of her legs and he tugs her down harshly.

The old woman loses her grasp on the chained fence as she slips and he lets her fall on the grass below them.

He panted heavily to catch his breath as he scrunched his nose at her and she grunted at the pain shooting up her back.

She manages to roll over to get up as she moves to stumble to her feet and then she runs towards him to attack him.

Y/n prepared himself as he dodges one of her incoming attacks and he reaches to grab one of her arms to restrain her.

She twists herself around when he grabbed a hold of her as she elbows him in the gut and she took a step back.

He quicky recovers from the blow as he began to throw a couple kicks at her as he made a small note that the mad granny can fight on her own.

He acknowledges this information as she swings one of her legs out at him and he pushes her leg back.

He leans backwards when she throws another one at him as she moves a bit closer to punch him.

He grabs her hand as he spun her around and kicked her up against the fence as she let out a hiss.

She lifted her head back up as their eyes meet for a moment and she lunges forward.

Y/n was caught by surprise as she manages to grab him and rotated their positions as he was the one now up against the fence.

He tried to push her off as he places a hand on her face to poke her eyes and she continued to pin him down.

One of her hands manage to trail down his torso as she finds the healing injury and she gripped the specific area harshly.

The H/c haired teen inhaled sharply at the pain as he winced and he gritted his teeth. She kept a painful grip on it before letting go and she pushes him to the side.

He lands on the ground with a grunt as he watches her quickly climb over the fence and he hurriedly got up.

She jumps over the chained fence as she hops onto the other side and she turns to glance back at him for a split second before she successfully escaped.

He watches her for a few more seconds before hitting the fence with his fist in frustration.

The flashback ends when he heard a knock at the door through his earbuds as he snaps out of his thoughts.

He reaches his hands up to pull them out as Y/n sat up and the knocking continued before a voice spoke on the other side.

"..Y/n? Are you in there?" The blonde called as his voice was muffled behind the door and Y/n blinked before raising his eyebrows in curiosity.

He moved to stand up as he went to the door and he hesitated before opening it.

He was met with Henry's familiar blonde locks of hair and brown chocolate eyes as Y/n's e/c colored ones stared into them in confusion.

"Henry.. what are you doing here?" He asked him as he frowned at the short boy curiously and Henry hesitated before finally speaking.

"I need to talk to you."

𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 . . .

10:30 PM

"And so, there's this person I really like.. and I really want that person to like me a lot too." The sidekick explained truthfully as he stood on the opposite end of a sketch pad while the Wall Dog drew a picture.

The two of them standing back at the Swellview Park as the blonde looked at her and he continued.

"Even if it means I have to be truthful to them in the end." He commented as he stays silent and then he squinted at her suspiciously.

"You know, I feel like you're not listening to me." Henry mentioned as the Wall Dog places the last finishing touches on the sketch pad and then grinned.

"..and done."

"What's done?" The blonde questioned as he furrowed his brows and the Wall Dog smirked as she grabs the sketch pad.

She spins it around to show him a perfect caricature of the two of them and Henry turns his head away in disbelief.

"It's you and me together playing frisbee!" She added with a proud smile and Henry looked at her with a frown.

"But Veronika--"

"You don't like the frisbee?" She questioned and the blonde blinked as he quickly shook his head.

"I don't care about the frisbee." He tells her as the girl looked at the drawing and then glanced at him worriedly.

"I can make it a ball."

"It's not about the activity!" He exclaimed as he let out a small sigh and then he stepped closer to the Wall Dog.

"Look.. I'm saying that I can't come to meet you here anymore. I haven't been honest with you lately.." He admitted truthfully as the two stared at each other silently before she spoke.

"What? What do you mean..?" She asked him with a frown forming on her features as his words catch in his throat and then he continued.

"I really wanted to tell you for so long but.."

"I just didn't know how.." The blonde finally managed to say in a low murmur as the two hear footsteps approaching and Henry glances up to look over her shoulder.

Veronika was confused by what he meant as she turns to look at what he was staring at as she saw someone walking over.

Y/n moved towards them in his normal clothing like Henry requested him to wear rather than his hero suit as the Wall-Dog raised her eyebrows.

She scrunches her nose as she turns to look at the sidekick and Henry turns away from the teen to shoot her a glance.

"Who is..?" Veronika asked as her eyes narrowed at him in suspicion and Henry doesn't hesitate to move to stand between the two as he cleared his throat.

"Veronika.." He calls as he raised his hand and slowly gestures toward Y/n with a genuine expression evident on his face.

"This is Y/n."

"You know.. the one you've been telling me about?" He murmured sheepishly in a soft tone as Henry watches Veronika nearly stop breathing as she processed what he had just said.

"...what?" She questioned as she slowly turned to look at the sidekick before snapping her attention back to the teen.

The H/c haired teen met her gaze as he slowly nodded his head to agree with the blonde and his lips parted to speak.

"..Hi, Veronika." He greeted calmly as he took a step forward and he nudges his head towards her.

"It's been a while."
