Josiah slightly lifted his chin and said, “You can eat while you listen.”

Lysander delicately placed the bowl, which was wrapped in a heat–protective layer, onto the writing desk. Then, she took out the cutlery and tasted a mouthful.

After consuming the creamy chicken noodle soup, her previously tense stomach had significantly relaxed.

The desk. cluttered with a computer and numerous files, was far from spacious. A large pile of documents were stacked on the side. Seeing that Lysander had already sorted them out, Josiah reached out to tidy them up, saying. “We need to tackle things one step at a time. I believe your immediate priority should be resolving the issue with the competitive tendering”

“If you’re content with the status quo, you could let them be. Competition breeds motivation, so they’ll find a way to prepare their proposals. When the time comes, all you need to do is review the proposals submitted by both parties, take the best of each, and reassemble them,” Josiah admitted.

“If I’m going to do something. I’ll do it to the best of my ability,” Lysander stated.

Then, I can adjust the project team members. As for the other details, I can address them once these two issues are resolved.”

Lysander was so efficient that she took less than half the expected time to rectify the flawed plan provided by the planning department. Along with this, she also organized and labeled the materials prepared for the proposal.

Her gaze never left the screen for a moment as she said, “First, let’s reorganize the team, then have them. prepare the proposal. Making full preparation will not delay one’s job but quicken the process.”

Ever since Lysander began revising the plan, the previously silent Josiah glanced at the page she was reviewing and commented, “You’re a fast learner.”

“You taught me that the most important aspect of leadership isn’t mastering every aspect of the business, but managing those who are experts in different areas. Today, I’ve learned another strategy, which is to let them balance each other out, compete fairly, and create a virtuous cycle. Their focus should be on surpassing each other instead of targeting me.”

A hint of tender satisfaction crossed Josiah’s eyes. “Yes, you’re absolutely right.”

Lysander turned her head, intending to ask him if he had any experience in competitive tendering. But before she could voice her question, she noticed the bowl he was holding in his hand.

Josiah maintained his usual composure, holding the bowl in one hand and a spoon in the other. It was only after he set down the bowl that he said in a light and indifferent voice, “I wasn’t really hungry initially, but seeing you enjoy your meal so much made me think that the soup must be quite good. It would be a shame to let it go cold and wasted, so I might as well finish it. Are you still hungry? Do more?”

Josiah then looked up and met Lysander’s gaze.

Lysander shook her head and said, “No, I’m full.”

“I’ll finish this, then.”

As he spoke, Josiah tilted his head back, finishing off the remaining half bowl of soup she had left.
