Chapter 467
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 467 They Need To Mind Themselves
They were seated, one on the couch, the other on a chair to the side. The chair was originally a bit higher than the comfortable couch, but due to Josiahâs considerable height advantage over Lysander, they appeared to be on the same level.
The distance between them had inexplicably lessened significantly.
Seeing her silence, Josiah gave a smirk. âWould it be too much trouble to pour me a cup of warm water, Dr. Thorne?â
Lysander paused for a moment, then stood up. However, both the coffee table and the dining table were completely empty.
âWhereâs your cup?â
âThere should be some disposable ones in the cupboard.â
Lysander furrowed her brows. âYou didnât even buy a cup?â
Josiah scoffed, âI donât have Mr. Housewife at home to prepare and provide everything for me.â
He is being sarcastic again.
Lysander said, âConsidering youâve helped Old Mrs. Everhart, Iâll gift you a cup as a token of appreciation.â
Josiah raised an eyebrow. âSeems like youâre not surprised at all.â
âItâs not hard to guess.â Lysander said, âMadam Susan hasnât been involved in the affairs of the Guerra family for many years. She probably doesnât even know where the familyâs private jet is parked, Thereâs no way she could have arranged everything in such a short time.â
âWhen did you figure it out?â
âWhen I came over to have a meal at your place.â Lysander paused for a moment, then added, âAt Madam Susanâs house.â
Josiah lowered his gaze. âI would like to drink some water.â
Lysander stood up and said, âIâve boiled some over at my place. Could you wait a moment?â
âAlright.â
Lysander quickly made a trip to her own home, only to find the door locked.
Upon glancing at her phone, she noticed a message from Adrian. He had written to inform her that something urgent had come up and he had to leave early. Tiffany also received a call from her father asking her to come home. So, Adrian had conveniently dropped Tiffany off on his way.
Upon entering, the dining table was indeed still adorned with the same spread of dishes from earlier.
However, they had essentially all gone cold.
Lysander felt that it was a shame. She had put so much effort into preparing the dishes, but in the end, not

She rummaged through the storage locker and found a new ceramic cup.
After disinfecting it with boiling water, she filled up the cup to bring over to Josiah.
When she returned, Josiah had already laid down.
He was lying on his side on the couch, curled up with one hand resting on his stomach.
Hearing her footsteps, he slowly sat up, furrowing his brow as he asked, âWhy were you gone for so long?â
âI bought a cup but hadnât sterilized it with boiling water⦠Are you still feeling unwell?â
âA little.â
âWhere is your medicine?â
Josiah said nothing.
âWhere is it?â
//
âAt the office.â
Lysander furrowed her brows.
Josiah said, âI forgot it this morning when I rushed back. So, it was left at the office.â
Lysander recognized the crux of the matter. âSo, youâve been feeling unwell since yesterday?â
Josiah gave a bitter smile. âItâs been a while now. Iâve been attending many social events lately, drinking more than usual.â
Lysander spoke in a deep voice. âHas Guerra Group encountered any problems recently? You didnât use to have so many social engagements.â
âBefore, when there were no social obligations, I could go home. But now, I find going home to be dull. Itâs better to stay out and find something to do.â
âThereâs a pharmacy downstairs, Iâll go buy it for you.â
Josiah grabbed her wrist. âIâll be fine with just some warm water. Itâs rare for you to sit here and talk to me, so please donât leave.â
Lysander stared at him for a few seconds before finally deciding to sit down.
However, she didnât forget to slip her wrist out of his palm. âYouâre about to get married, so mind yourself.â
Josiah chuckled, releasing his grip on her wrist, his arm naturally propping himself up on the couch. He leaned casually against the backrest. âYou donât seem to mind at all that thereâs another woman with me.â
Lysander responded quite seriously, âWhen I was still Mrs. Guerra, I did mind.â
She was referring to Lysanne.
When I vsanne suddenly entered their lives she too burl wanted to protect her own marriage

However, it was futile.
Josiah sat up slightly. âWhen I saw you at Skywatch that day, Aiden told me that you had come to catch me cheating. For a moment, I⦠was quite pleased.â
âI was there to look for
my sister.â
âYes, I found out later,â Josiah said with a bitter smile. âI even deliberately staged an act with Amelia in front of you. But in the blink of an eye, you left with your sister, completely disregarding the woman by my side.â
Lysanderâs eyelashes fluttered as she thrust the warm water into his hands. âDrink it while itâs warm, or itâll cool down soon.â
Josiah accepted it, first taking a small sip, then he tilted his head back and drained it in one go.
He glanced at the pattern on the cup, then looked at her. âDid Mr. Housewife buy this?â
Lysander was rendered speechless.
âItâs clear at first glance that this cup is part of a coupleâs set; the male part.â
Lysander had only noticed that Adrian had purchased a pair when she found the cup.
It had a puppy print on it, one that resembled White Coat.
One was pink, the other blue.
Josiah suddenly clicked his tongue twice, lifting his cup as if it were a treasured possession. âIâll have to place it in the most conspicuous spot later just to irk Adrian when he sees it next time.â
Lysander scoffed at him, âStop being so childish! Iâll take the cup back after you use it. It was bought by someone else, what gives you the right to claim it as your own?â
Lysander took the cup from his hand and placed it on the dining table next to her.
How much longer until the seafood you ordered arrives?â
âIâm not sure, but it should be soon,â he replied.
âCheck the food delivery app, and see where itâs at.â
Josiah frowned in annoyance. âI ordered a lot, and it needs to be cleaned and prepared. Itâs only natural that itâs taking a bit longer.â
âSo weâre just going to wait around?â
âMy chair isnât covered in thorns, itâs not like sitting on it would hurt you.â
Lysander was rendered speechless.
âWould you like to sit on the couch instead? Iâll make some room for you.â
Lysander sniggered. âThatâs not necessary.â

Josiah hadnât really expected her to sit next to him. With a slight smile gracing his lips, he continued to feign sleep with his eyes closed.

Lysander looked toward his kitchen, which was seemingly unused, and asked, âDo you seasonings or sauces at home?â

âThere should be. We were just missing some ketchup before, so Martha should have already bought it.â
âThat will do.â
In the midst of their conversation, Josiahâs phone vibrated.
He swiped open his phone, took a quick glance, and within a few seconds, he locked the screen and tossed the phone aside.
âTiffany?â
âNo, itâs Amelia.â
âWhatâs your relationship with Ameliaâ¦â
âSheâs a friend.â Josiah had an epiphany. âWhy, do you care?â
Lysander said, âIâm just a bit surprised. I never expected you two to be friends.â
Amelia appeared to be quite the socialite, and on several occasions, she had heard Aiden Sutton referring to her as a âsocial butterfly.â
Before our marriage, Josiah had always stayed chaste for Lysanne. Even after our wedding, he was an incredibly devoted husband, so how could he possibly have a friend like that?
