Chapter 464
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 464 What I Seek Is Your Sincerity
This was far more serious than consuming raw food,
Josiah sat up, slowly buttoning his vest. His voice had softened somewhat. âMmmâhmm.â
Lysander sighed. âPeople with stomach issues should really avoid alcohol, The pain youâre feeling is highly likely from your stomach acting up.â
Bewildered, Tiffany asked, âLysander, can you treat him?â
Lysander said, âHeâll need to see an expert for this. Itâs best to consult a specialist in internal medicine.â
Tiffany blinked in surprise, asking curiously, âLysander, how did you know that Josiah has a chronic stomach condition? Did you just diagnose it? Thatâs quite impressive.â
Admiration filled her gaze.
To prevent any misunderstanding, Lysander quickly waved her hands and clarified, âYouâre overthinking it. I⦠Iâve heard about it from the elders before. My father and Madam Susan are old acquaintances.â
Tiffany believed it and said, âI see. Lysander, youâre really meticulous.â
Luckily, the one they encountered was Tiffany.
Lysander subtly let out a sigh of relief, turning to the uncooperative Josiah. She advised, âMr. Guerra, I suggest you go to the hospital as soon as possible for a gastroscopy. After that, we can discuss the appropriate treatment based on the advice of the specialist.
Josiahâs complexion appeared even paler than before. Maintaining his composure, he said, âForget it. I donât have time. I have another appointment this afternoon.â
Lysander studied him for a moment before finally saying. âThis is your own body. If you donât take care of it, no one else can help you. The decision is yours.â
Tiffany couldnât help but worry. âJosiah, you almost passed out from the pain before. What if your stomach hurts again later?â
Josiah brushed it off. âI have gastric medicine at home. Iâll just take some.â
Tiffany was concerned about his health and continued to persuade him, âItâs still early. Let me you to the hospital. We can head to the office afterward. It wonât interfere with your work.â
Josiahâs tone grew solemn. âI told you. Itâs not necessary.â
Tiffany was timid, too shy to muster up the courage to persuade him any further.

Lysander turned to the flustered Tiffany and added, âMs. Lanister, if youâre still feeling uneasy, keep an eye on him for a while longer. If his stomach pain worsens, donât hesitate to call an ambulance.â
Despite her concern, Tiffany had no valid reason to keep them any longer. She nodded, saying, âAlright, thank you.â
âYouâre welcome, Lysander said, turning toward Adrian. âLetâs head back firstâ

Adrian had wanted to leave for a while now, and without a word, he promptly followed her.
The two of them quickly arrived at the door, just one step away from stepping out.
âWait a moment.â
Unexpectedly, Josiah rose from the couch, steadying himself with the help of the coffee table next to him. âDidnât you tell me before that your relationship with Dr. Sutton is nothing more than friendship? How come youâre now able to share a candlelit dinner?â
Tiffany was utterly baffled, unable to fathom how Lysanderâs affairs with her boyfriend had anything to do with Josiah.
âJosiah, isnât Dr. Sutton Lysanderâs boyfriend?â
âSince when?â
âAh, isnât that so? Iâve always thoughtâ¦â
Upon hearing Josiah making such remarks in front of Tiffany. Lysander immediately halted, retorting without turning her head, âThis is my business. Since when has it become any of yours, Mr. Guerra?â
In contrast to her, Adrian did turn his head to ask, âIâm rather curious. How did you know we were having a candlelit dinner, Mr. Guerra?â
With a snigger, Josiah said, âThatâs a question you should ask Dr. Thorne.â
Adrian was filled with confusion.
When Lysander explained it to him, her tone was considerably softer. âWhen you were out shopping, Mr. Guerra and Ms. Lanister happened to leave together and bumped into me. Thatâs probably when they saw the table you had set.â
Adrian seemed thoughtful. âI see. It seems that you and Ms. Lanister have a pretty good relationship, Mr. Guerra. As soon as you finish work, Ms. Lanister comes over to keep you company.â
Josiah coldly said, âDr. Sutton, I am currently speaking with Dr. Thorne.â
Adrian chuckled lightly, gesturing for him to go ahead.
Josiahâs lips were twitching, as if he had a lot left unsaid, yet he ultimately remained silent, simply staring at Lysander inâ silence.
In that moment, Adrian found himself caught in the middle, left with no choice but to halt in his tracks.
Tiffany stood by the couch, utterly bewildered by the turn of events. She held her breath and dared not to speak rashly, her gaze filled with concern as she watched Josiah.
After a long while, Josiah finally spoke, his voice tinged with resentment. âLysander, werenât you trying to get me to agree to let Zachary continue working at Guerra Group? What, you canât keep up the act just because I havenât done so yet? Is your patience really that thin?â
Lysander hadnât expected him to bring this up out of the blue. With a hint of indifference in her voice, she said, âIâve sought you out many times, pleaded with you on numerous occasions. If youâre unwilling to hel, thereâs nothing more I can do.â

âSo, youâre just giving up? You wouldnât care if Zachary continues to pester your family?â
âIf youâre unwilling to help. Iâll just have to find another way.â
âWhat way? Seek out Adrian and hand him a hotel room card, just like you always do?â
Lysanderâs expression changed instantly. âJosiah, what exactly are you trying to say?â
âI already told you that day at the billiard lounge that what I wanted isnâtâ¦.
Considering that Tiffany was still present, there were certain things that couldnât be said too explicitly. Hence, Josiah promptly changed his tack.
He rephrased, saying, âWhat I want is your sincerity.â
Lysander smirked in response, too weary to engage in further conversation with him.
Josiah interpreted her silence as a tacit agreement and brought up the issue that had been troubling him for the past day. Today is the final day to make the payment at the sales office. You know very well your parents canât afford this amount. Are you still not planning to ask me for help?â
Nearly twoâthirds of the day had already passed.
This time, Adrian interjected in a calm manner, âMr. Guerra, you donât need to worry about this.â
Josiah gave him a cold glance, âThis is between her and me. Itâs none of your business.â
Unfazed, Adrian stared back at him and said, âI transferred the money to Lysander last night. The matter has been satisfactorily resolved, so I guess you could say itâs part of my business.â
Upon learning that Lysander had actually borrowed money from Adrian, Josiah incredulously asked her, âDid you really ask him for a loan?â
âIâll repay it as soon as possible.â
âThatâs not what I meant!â
Lysander took a deep breath, âLast night, I tried to call you. I actually wanted to ask if you could⦠But you didnât answer, and there was an unexpected situation at home that couldnât be delayed. I had a conversation with Dr. Sutton, he was willing to help when I was in need, for which I was extremely grateful.â
Josiah had been holding back his anger, but the fury building up within him was becoming unbearable. He felt as if he was about to explode. His lips were pressed, and after letting out a cold snort, he said in a hoarse voice, âNo wonder you decided to cook today. It was all to thank him for the loan.â
