Chapter 422
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 422 Changing Girlfriends Every Day
The expression on Lysanderâs face subtly shifted.
She had always been aware of Susanâs attitude. During her last visit for dinner at their home, it was Susan who had called Josiah back. Later, Susan had insisted that he should escort her home.
Under the table, Daphne had taken hold of her hand, applying gentle pressure.
Lysander turned around, only to hear Daphneâs firm voice telling her, âJust focus on your meal; donât worry about anything else.â
Lysander shot her a glance that implied she knew what to do.
âMr. Guerra, youâve returned!â Eleanor greeted him. âAnd who might this be?â
Josiah had returned, but he was accompanied by a woman.
It was yet another unfamiliar face.
She wasnât a social butterfly from Skywatch, nor was she a female college student from the billiards hall. Rather, she was a refined urban beauty, appearing to be in her midâtwenties, with a rather impressive demeanor.
Daphne mumbled to herself, âVan Cleef & Arpels.â
Lysander didnât understand. âWhat?â
âThe earrings and necklace this woman is wearing are classic fourâleaf clover designs by Van Cleef & Arpels.â
âAre they expensive?â
âDefinitely not something the salaried class could afford.â
Lysander nodded, indicating she understood.
Susan wasnât surprised by the arrival of the new girl. Clearly, she had been mentally prepared. She smiled. politely and said, âTiffany, you came? Itâs been a while, and youâve become even more beautiful.â
âIâve been abroad for quite some time and only recently returned home. I made it a point to visit you immediately. Hereâs a small token of appreciation I brought for you. I hope you like it, Madam Susan.â
Susan gratefully accepted it with a loving smile. âYouâre so thoughtful. Thank you.â
âActually, I canât take all the credit for this gift. Josiah accompanied me the whole of today to get it.â
Josiah gave a snort, sounding like he was complaining at first, but upon closer hearing, there was a hint of indulgence in his tone as he said, âSo you do realize what I did.â
Tiffany Lanister playfully stuck out her tongue. âWell, itâs been so many years since Iâve seen Madam Susan. I have no idea what she likes now, so naturally, I need you, her dear son, to help out.
Susan opened the package, delightfully pulling out the contents. âA scarf! Itâs so beautiful.â

âJosiah mentioned that youâre currently on medication. Iâm not a medical student and donât quite know what might conflict with the medications, so I didnât dare to bring you any supplements recklessly. This scarf is of excellent quality. I bought two â one for you and one for my mom. I picked the color and pattern for hers while Josiah selected yours.â
Susan raised an eyebrow, turning her gaze toward Josiah. âSince when did you become so adept at choosing gifts for women? This pattern is indeed quite nice.â
Josiah said. âI remember seeing you have a shawl with a pattern quite similar to this one, so I guessed your might like this style.â
âOh, that shawl, Susan chuckled, âI really do have a fondness for that shawl.â
The mother and son were engaged in lightâhearted chatter, creating a pleasant atmosphere.
Eyen Howard had a few words of praise. âSusan, all these years of you doting on Josiah have not been in vain.â
Susan expressed her annoyance, âHeâs just copying others. That shawl was a gift from Lysander. Heâs merely plagiarizing her aesthetic sense.â
Astonished, Howard glanced at Lysander. âYou bought that shawl?â
âYes, it was during Madam Susanâs birthday last year.â
As Howard joined the conversation, Tiffanyâs attention was drawn to him. She sweetly called out, âMr.
Thorne.
Howard responded, âHello. I didnât know you were coming today, so I didnât bring any gifts. Iâll make it up to you another day.â
Tiffany politely said, âAs the younger one, itâs only right that I should be the one bringing gifts to you. It doesnât make sense for me to ask you for gifts. By the way, has Mrs. Thorneâs health improved?â
âWell, she had another brush with death recently. Thankfully, she received treatment in time, but she still. needs to take it slow and recuperate.â
âThen, Iâll visit her at the hospital another day.â
âNo worries, I understand you young people are busy. Youâve just returned from abroad, so spend some more time with your parents. We can talk when youâre free.â
Tiffany squinted her eyes and asked, âBy the way, whereâs Lyss?â
âSheâ¦â
Howard knew that Lysander and Lysanne were at odds, causing him to hesitate when replying.
Josiah answered lightly. âShe should be arriving soon, right?â
Upon hearing those words, the smile on Tiffanyâs face faded slightly. âOh, is that so?â
Eleanor hurriedly said, âMs. Lanister, please take a seat. Iâll get you an extra set of tableware.â
âAll right, thank you. Eleanor.â

Susan said, âEveryone, please take a seat. Our home has suddenly become quite lively today with so many visitors.
The apartment, unlike a mansion, was constrained by space limitations. As such, the dining room could only accommodate a rectangular table for six.
The layout of this apartment was actually quite similar to the one next door.
Back when Lysander and Josiah were staying next door, the two of them rarely cooked at home.
Her schedule was utterly erratic when she was busy, so she typically ate in the hospital cafeteria. On the rare occasions when they had time to dine together, they usually ate out before heading home.
Therefore, they hadnât even purchased a dining table. Instead, Lysander had placed a small bookshelf
there.
Studying medicine required an extensive number of books. She kept the ones she frequently used on that bookshelf. It was incredibly convenient to have them readily available for use.
Susan took her seat at the head of the table while Howard, being an elder, was also accorded respect and thus sat separately at the other end of the table.
Daphne, with Lysander in tow, took a seat to the left of Susan. Josiah, unconcerned with the others, pulled. up a chair and sat down on Susanâs right. Following suit, Tiffany settled down next to him.
In no time, Eleanor had set out a new pair of tableware for Tiffany before she started serving the dishes.
Tiffany gazed at the array of dishes, a joyful look on her face. âItâs been a while since Iâve had such authentic Ecronian cuisine. Eleanor, your culinary skills are as impressive as ever.â
Josiah served her a piece of pork rib. âFeel free to have more if you like it.â
âNo, no, Iâm on a diet. Just a piece will do. I really canât eat too much,â Tiffany hastily replied.
Lysander, whose hand had been resting under the table, suddenly felt someone touching her.
Turning to the side, she noticed Daphne signaling her, urging her to check her phone.
Lysander moved her phone under the table, and sure enough, she saw a WhatsApp message from Daphne.
Daphne: Just what is Josiah doing? Has he been influenced by Aiden? Is that why heâs changing girlfriends every day?
Lysander replied with a bewildered expression.
She didnât know what exactly Josiah was planning.
Daphne: Wait a minute, it seems like this woman knows both your exâmotherâinâlaw and your father. Could it be
thatâ¦.
âLet me introduce everyone.â Susan took the initiative to start the conversation. âTiffany, you should know Mr. Thome, so I wonât introduce him. This is Mr. Thorneâs biological daughter, who was lost when she was a child, and they only recently reunited with each other. She is now a very accomplished obstetrician.â
Tiffany rose politely and greeted, âHello, Ms. Thorne. Iâve heard that studying medicine is quite challenging. Any girl who can pursue it must be exo vionally outstanding!â

Lysander also rose to her feet to shake Tiffanyâs hand. âThank you, Ms. Lanister. Itâs a pleasure to meet
you.
âLysander, this is Tiffany Lanister. Her father is the chairman of Riveron Corporation. Heâs an old friend of mine and your fatherâs. However, she was raised overseas and only returns to the country during winter and summer breaks.â
Daphneâs eyes widened instantly. âRiveron Corporation? Isnât that the one that recently collaborated with. the Guerra familyâ¦â
