Chapter 417
The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 417 Some Other Woman
Zane replied. âI can do that, but let me be clear. âThings might not turn our well even if you came.â
Lysander simply said. âI appreciate your help.â
With a sigh. Zane agreed.
Lysander found a nearby café and sat down, waiting and looking up recent property prices in Harborbrook.
After comparing numerous options, she concluded that the designated relocation building had the best location and offered the highest value for money.
Although it required a considerable investment, it was indeed worth it.
Lysander finally grasped the meaning behind Zacharyâs words at that moment. Josiahâs name sure does bring
convenience.
Harborbrook was a radiant metropolis. While the future of housing prices was uncertain, one thing was clearâthey wouldnât decrease. The cityâs excellent location and promising development prospects ensured significant potential for appreciation.
Josiahâs decision to relocate the building here was likely not solely due to its proximity to Central Hospital. He must have considered various other factors as well.
In the afternoon around three oâclock, a message from Zane arrived.
He simply shared a location with Lysander.
Upon closer inspection, Lysander recognized the place to be the very same bar where Adrianâhad taught her how to play pool last time. Mirage.
Why did Josiah suddenly decide to go there today?
Without a second thought, she immediately hailed a cab and headed in that direction.
Just like Skywatch, Mirage was also exceptionally lively that night.
As soon as she pushed open the door, she was met with a cacophony of noise. Inside, there were at least twenty people, both men and women.
Zane had been keeping an eye on the entrance. When he saw her come in, he subtly gestured for her to proceed further inside.
Lysander gave a slight nod in gratitude and slowly made her way in the direction he had pointed out.
She soon found her target at the pool table at the very back.
Josiah was standing by the table with a few of his buddies who were leaning on their pool cues, anticipating a good show. A young girl dressed in a hoodie and jeans also stood next to him.
dressed
Lysanderâs first reaction was to wonder whether this girl was the same one Zane mentioned who had answered Josiahâs phone in the morning.

Or perhaps he had dismissed the one in the morning, and this is a new one.
The girlâs cheeks were rosy, and she was simply dressed in a white hoodie and jeans, her black hair cascading down. Next to Josiah, she appeared exceptionally petite.
It seemed as though Josiah was teaching her how to play pool. His tall stature hovered over her as he spoke to her. Their hands, both resting on the same pool cue, were so close that they almost touched.
The men standing across the pool table couldnât help teasing Josiah mischievously when he didnât make any further advancements. âJosiah, who teaches pool like this? You should hold her hand, like everyone dors.â
âExactly! Josiah, you should be a responsible teacher. Verbally instructing her wonât be enough.â
âShe doesnât know how to play yet. If you donât teach her properly, sheâll find someone else to teach her
sqon.â
Josiah looked up at them and chided playfully. âEven smoking canât shut you guys up.â
Everyone erupted into laughter.
The girl seemed quite young. Even if she wasnât a student, she couldnât have been out of school for long. Hearing those guysâ words, she shyly lifted her eyes to glance at Josiah, but he wasnât looking at her.
Josiah fixed his gaze on the pool cue, seemingly focusing on teaching her. He whispered, âDonât listen to their nonsense. Playing pool requires concentration.â
The girlâs face was flushed. âAm I too foolish?â
âNot at all. Itâs only your first day of learning. Take it easy; thereâs no need to rush.â
-Could you teach me again? I always seem to miss the mark,â she asked.
Josiah bent down. âAll right. Look. The main reason youâre having trouble aiming is because youâre not lowering your line of sight.â
The girl leaned forward further. âOh, is this okay?â
âBend a little more.â
âOkay.â The girl continued bending down, almost nestled in his arms.
âAll right, this is enough.â Josiah propped his left hand on the pool table for support, his right hand gripping the cue in her hand. âWith the cue ball, the colored ball, and the pocket all in one straight line, adjust your strength, then make your shot.â
The girl, unable to resist the charm of a composed, gentle man like Josiah, blushed. Following his guidance, she struck the ball, but a sudden tremor in her hand caused the cue tip to veer off. Consequently, the cue ball that was supposed to hit the target ball deviated from its intended path. âIt still didnât go in. Whatâs going on?â
The guys who were watching/burst into laughter right away.
Aiden, having had a bit too much to drink, chuckled goofily, his gaze unfocused. âThey say a good teacher has exceptional students. Looks like vou failed, Josi I assumed sheâd succeed on the first try.â

The girlâs face flushed even more as she stammered, worried that Josiah might be upset. âNo, no. Itâs not your fault. Itâs me. I just canât seem to get a hang of it. I think Iâm just not talented in playing poolâ¦â
Josiah gestured for the waiter to reset the pool table to its previous arrangement. âThatâs okay. Letâs try again.â
Someone immediately teased, âYou sure are patient, Josiah. You better focus, little lady.â
âItâs not every day you get the chance to be coached by Josiah. You might not get another chance like this if you donât pick it up now. Heâs a busy man after allâ¦â
The girl genuinely wished the ground would swallow her up. Instinctively, she found herself shrinking into Josiahâs embrace.
Josiah, holding the cue, scanned the people around him nonchalantly and spoke with his arms crossed. âIf you guys are bored, why not play against me for the next round?â
They all shook their heads no hearing that
They were all exceptionally shrewd.
Recently, Josiah had been acting rather out of sorts. Although no one knew why, there was an unspoken agreement among everyone to avoid mentioning it.
Hanging out with him was fine, but they surmised theyâd be in serious trouble if they ended up crossing Josiah
One particularly curious guy decided to change the subject as he recalled the last time he saw Josiah. âI remember seeing you leaving with Amelia last night. How come youâre with this innocent young girl today? Aiden, did you introduce her to Josiah?â
Gazing at him with a grin, Aiden casually shoved his hands into his pockets. âYouâre making it sound like Iâm a pimp. Given Josiahâs qualifications, leading a monastic life is the last thing he should do. He had some emotional baggage before this, but things are different now. He can live his life however he pleases.â
When men gathered, they always spoke without any reservations.
Josiah seemed oblivious to what they were saying. Once the pool table was reset, he gestured to the girl standing in front of him to hold the spot on the cue stick where his hand had been. In a deep voice, he said, âCome, letâs try again.â
His friends tactfully chose not to disturb him when he ignored them. Instead, they teased Aiden with a sly grin. âArenât you
afraid Lysanne will find out what youâve said? You better be careful, or she might teach you a lesson when she comes to spotcheck on Josiah.â
Aiden shrugged dismissively, shaking his head. âSpotcheck on Josiah? She wonât dare to do so now.â
