The Charming Ex-Wife ( Lysander and Josiah ) Online Novel
Chapter 401 Did It Hurt
Burn wounds arenât quite the same as other sharp object wounds.
The area is large with numerous ruptures, making it more susceptible to infection than the average wound.
Josiahâs back was almost entirely a mess of raw wounds, with his upper arm and shoulder also showing varying degrees of lacerations. Some of the wounds had even spread to his collarbone area.
She gestured toward the couch. âSit down.â
âHmm?â
Lysander had already opened the first aid kit, searching for wound treatment supplies. âSit down: otherwise, I canât reach.â
Josiah obediently settled down on the couch. âAre you going to take care of my wound?â
Lysander looked up. âYou think I canât do it?â
âNo, Iâm just afraid the sight of the wound might frighten you.â
âI am a doctor. Iâve long been accustomed to seeing all kinds of wounds. Where is the ointment you had the service staff bring over last night?â
âIâll grab it for you..â
Lysander gently guided him to sit back down. âTell me where it is. Iâll go get it myself.â
âItâs on the nightstand in the bedroom.â
Lysander made a trip to his bedroom and sure enough, she found the ointment on his bedside table.
She glanced over a few types of medication, finding them to be fairly suitable for his condition.
âThese are prescribed by the doctor?â
âYeah.â
âHow did you apply the ointment on your back by yourself?â
âI havenât applied it yet, I was planning to do it today when Ms. Collins brought the doctor over.â
Lysander set the medicine aside and bent over to examine the wound on his back closely. âThe area of the wound is too large. Antiâinflammatory medicine alone wonât do much good. It would be best to go to the hospital as soon as possible for an IV drip. Otherwise, if the infection doesnât subside, it could lead to other complications.â
âThen,
Iâll tonight. After taking you to the hospital later, I need to make a trip to the office.â
Lysander uncapped the bottle of disinfectant and casually remarked, âSure, as long as you donât mind

âIf the infection reaches the dermal tissue, thereâs a high chance it will leave a scar.â
âIâm a man. It doesnât matter to me whether or not I bear scars.â
âSuit yourself, then.â Lysander had prepared the cotton swab. âThis disinfectant is rather harsh, and given the large area of your infection, a thorough disinfection is required. Itâs going to hurt quite a bit, but Iâll try to be as quick as possible. Just bear with it.â
Josiah nodded. âAll right,â
Lysander began treating his wounds.
A sharp pang of pain surged from his back.
Josiah slightly furrowed his brows, his muscles suddenly tensing.
Lysander could feel it, but the force she used did not lessen. The wounds needed to be thoroughly disinfected of all damaged tissues, so being gentle simply wouldnât do.
By the time all the wounds on his back were completely disinfected, a total of three bottles of disinfectant had been used.
Lysander said, âThereâs no medical gauze here, so I can only do a simple bandage for now. Once we get to the hospital, you should head to the burn department. Let the nurses there take care of you properly and get you on an IV drip as soon as possible. Before the wounds are fully healed, you absolutely cannot get them wet. If youâre thinking about taking a bath⦠you might want to hold off on that for a while and just bear with it.â
Josiah clenched his teeth and simply responded, âOkay.â
He was a clean freak.
The wounds would take quite a while to heal, and it was easy to imagine how much discomfort he must have endured these past few days.
Lysander looked at his current injuries, even doubting whether he had secretly taken a bath that night in Stounia.
âAll done,â Lysander said. âDonât wear too many layers these days. Try to keep it airy.
âAll right
âDid it hurt?â
After a moment of contemplation, Josiah admitted, âIt did.â
Lysander chuckled. âI thought youâd insist it didnât hurt.â
âIâm only human. Of course it hurts, but.. these past few days, Iâve been living as if in a haze. Yet, itâs this sharp pain that makes me feel as if Iâve come back to life,â
