Chapter 345 I Do Not Believe In Coincidences
âYou really are considerate, Dr. Sutton.â
âThanks f for the compliment.â Adrian turned toward lysander. âAre you okay?â
Lysander gave a nod.
Lysander: Why did you come out here?
âI noticed youâve been gone for quite a while, and I was worried something might have happened to you, so I came looking,â said Adrian with a light chuckle, âNow, I see you ran into someone you know and got caught up in conversation.â
Lysander gave a nod, shaking the bag in her hand slightly. Lysander: Iâve got the medicine.
Adrian gave a nonchalant hum. âWhy donât you come over here? My umbrella is a bit larger.â
He extended his umbrella toward her, positioning it next to the one in Josiahâs hand, creating a path for
her.
After some thought, Lysander nodded and prepared to walk over.
Josiah abruptly pulled her back. âShe can stay right here.â
Adrian pointed to Josiahâs completely soaked back. âIâm worried that you are so focused on shielding Lysander with the umbrella that you end up getting drenched yourself, Mr. Guerra.â
Josiah slightly furrowed his brows. âWell, Iâm already soaked; it doesnât really matter anymore. The is quite heavy, so letâs not get you wet too, Dr. Sutton.â
Lysander briskly shook off Josiahâs hand and moved under Adrianâs umbrella, continuing forward without a word.
Adrian gave a soft chuckle, subtly shifting the umbrella toward her as they began to walk back together
âWhere did you run into him?â
Lysander: The pharmacy.
âA chance encounter?â
She nodded.
Adrian let out a snigger. âI donât believe in coincidences.â
Upon reaching the mansion entrance, Lysander was the first to step inside.
Adrian stood at the door, closing his umbrella. âSo, Mr. Guerra, youâve decided to tag along as well. What, fancy a little tour of my place?â
Josiah raised an evebrow. âThatâs right. Is this a good time?â

âNo problem, but letâs do it another day. Itâs too late now; we should all be resting.â
âIâm not sleepy yet. Since weâre already here, why not just do it today!
âBut Lysander has been busy all day today and is already very tired.â
Josiah said, âShe can sleep, while I have my tour.â
âIâm just worried that you would come across some upsetting scenes and consequently have sleepless nights.â
Josiahâs face darkened slightly. âUpsetting scenes?â
âMmm-hmm.â
Josiah sneered, âIâm not worried. Lysander knows her limits.â
Adrian chuckled. âMr. Guerra, youâre overthinking it. Lysander certainly knows her boundaries. However, some of the items in my house are my personal treasures, things you canât buy in the market. Iâm just concerned that it might make you feel uncomfortable after seeing them.â
âHow valuable is this treasure? Iâd actually like to broaden my horizons.â
After a moment of contemplation, Adrian tilted his head and said. âAlright, if thatâs the case, please come in, Mr. Guerra.â
The two men entered the mansion, one after the other.
Meanwhile, Lysander was boiling water in the kitchen
When she saw those two figures, she had a strong premonition-she wasnât going to any peace in coming days.
Sure enough, within a few seconds, Josiah saw the largest painting hanging in the living room.
Pointing toward the oil painting behind the couch, Adrian asked, âDo you find it appealing?â
Josiah stared at the painting, his lips pressed tightly together.
The oil painting depicted Lysander from behind during her student years.
She was unsure whether Josiah would be able to recognize it, or perhaps, he had never even been to Harborbrook Medical University and thus wouldnât know about the small campus path.
âNot bad.â Josiahâs voice betrayed no emotion. âDid you paint it yourself, Dr. Sutton?â
âI did.â
âThe resemblance is uncanny,â said Josiah. âThis must be from nearly a decade ago. She hasnât changed much since then.â
