Explain it to me!

As Char sat down and allowed Mia to speak she seemed to have zoned out into her own little world. She couldn't imagine herself without Mia. Mia was her best friend, her soulmate, her everything all in one.

Tears dripped down her face and Mia noticed this. "Look Char I'm so sorry for everything I've done to you, I shouldn't have run off when I did and ignored you, I should've stayed and explained everything."

"Well... why won't you explain it to me, if we are going to work you need to tell me the truth so I can help you." Char said with tears still trickling down her face.

You see Mia didn't really know how to put it into words what happened to her and why marriage triggers her so much. It wasn't just what happened between her and Reece, it was also to do with her parents.

Mia began explaining everything to char. It first started with her mum and dad and how her mum abused her dad so bad he left them both. Mia never knew what she did to deserve being left with a monster of a mother. Why didn't he take Mia with him. It's something that always broke her heart but she tried so hard not to show it on the outside. From the day her dad left she vowed she'd never get married and the first sign of any relationship trouble she'd leave. But then came Roger who played on Mia's weaknesses. Roger knew Mia wanted to find her dad and he used that against her.

"I know where your dad is and if you want to know where he is you need to follow my lead and do what I say" Roger said in a creepy tone.

This tone is something that always imprinted itself in Mia's mind.

Roger used to make Mia be with Reece and force her to do things she didn't want to do. She was forced to love him but for her it was all pretend just to find her dad. After an explosive argument with Reece she said "look Reece I'm not actually in love with you I just need to find my dad that's all!" And somehow this all got back to Roger, like he had some secret spies watching her every move.

From that day Roger manipulated Mia and her every move, he wouldn't let her do the things she wanted to do, he trapped her and she was drowning in a place she couldn't escape. Something she promised herself she wouldn't ever let happen.

One day Roger became really aggressive and told Mia if she didn't marry Reece she wouldn't ever see her dad again. Her dad was something Roger held over her to manipulate her into doing what he wanted. After years of planning the wedding, the dread hit Mia's stomach, she was about to do this just to see her dad again. Mia was never allowed to talk about the wedding to Reece and she never knew why until she was walking down the aisle.

She was in her flowy white elegant dress looking for Reece in a panic, where was he! It was only Roger stood at the end of the isle.

Out of panic she whispered to Roger "where's Reece?!"

Roger raised his voice "well you see, why would my son ever want to marry a woman like you." And Roger went on with publicly humiliating Mia until she ran down the aisle to get away from the nightmare she was living.
