Chapter 1673 A Small Moment

When they’d gotten to their first choice of lodgings it was revealed that had enough rooms for everyone to get their own. Kat and Lily obviously requested they share a room, and Meg did try to make the same request… but she was overruled. Kamiko looked like she wanted to ask to stay with Kat and Lily but couldn’t quite bring herself to do so. Normally Kat would’ve encouraged her and said it was fine… but Kat had plans for that night.

No not the sexy kind of plans, but hopefully it would be romantic. First step was waiting for everyone else to go to sleep… or more realistically just Lily and hoping the others wouldn’t bother her. When Kat snuck out of the room and headed for the street Meg was sitting at one of the tables just… sipping on something. She winked at Kat but didn’t stop her.

Which… counted as enough of a success that Kat just put it out of her mind. Wasn’t worth worrying about really. Once outside Kat stopped a few different people and question them on the various date spots around town, especially ones for the night. This did lead to a few people hitting on her but glaring at them with literal fire in their eyes did dampen that enthusiasm.

Once she’d established quite cleanly what the best spot was going to be Kat headed back upstairs and gave Lily a bit more time to rest. Kat ended up waiting until midnight in the end. It was just… thematically appropriate and a great excuse to gently kiss her girlfriend awake. Slowly trailing kisses along Lily’s neck, Kat found her girlfriend stirring. Kat was certainly happy that Lily hadn’t bothered to transform to sleep like normal. So teasing her out of her sleep was much easier.

Though maybe not? When Kat made her way to Lily’s mouth she found the smaller girl straddling her and pawing around in… slightly indecent areas. At that point Kat knew Lily was still at least half asleep. *While I don’t mind this… Lily would definitely think it’s too far now.* Kat mentally confirmed to herself as Lily squeezed her rear.

Deciding that was enough Kat pulled Lily’s hands away and bit down gently on Lily’s lip. The little jolt of pain through Lily’s eyes open and was a great way for Lily to become just coherent enough to realise what she was doing.

Lily jumped backwards transforming meanwhile and landing on the floor. Only to have her feet slip out from under her where upon she collapsed onto the ground, head knocking loudly on the wooden floorboards. [Kat WHY!]

Kat wanted to chuckle at the emotions Lily was sending her way. Lily was desperately trying to be angry… and failing. Instead she was rather worked up, eager to continue… but underneath all of that she was feeling a touch betrayed. It was buried deep, and Kat could tell that Lily would squash that feeling quickly if Kat pushed her to continue… but that wasn’t something Kat was willing to do. So she just explained properly. "I just wanted to wake you up nicely in recompense for getting you up in the middle of the night. You… rolled with it a bit too well,"

Lily transformed returning to her human shape. Blush extending all across her face as she pouted at Kat. "It… it was enjoyable but I don’t… I’m not… I… hmm… I don’t know if I’m ready and… and maybe one day you will have to push me… but I think today’s not that day. I mean… it was nice yes but… even that sort of thing… well I’d rather it be a choice not just… you know,"

"It’s fine really. I realised that quickly enough and stopped you from doing anything indecent. You only got off one good squeeze… and you’ve done that before anyway," said Kat with a shrug.

Lily froze, "Wait… what? When?"

Kat chuckled, "Lily… you’ve used my ass as a pillow before. Do you really think you haven’t squeezed it a bit when half asleep and trying to get comfortable,"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

*Huh hadn’t thought she could even blush MORE than before but that just shows me wrong…* "Why… um… er… why did you wake me up so early?" asked Lily in a desperate bid to change the subject.

"Well, I thought we could go on a proper date. Meg plans to go to the interrogation early tomorrow and we were politely uninvited which means we’ll be heading off to… deal with bandits most likely. I’m not sure what to do about that whole thing and we will talk about it… but for right now? I wanted us to make some good memories," Lily looked about ready to pass out. "Date spots. I found a great date spot,"

"Oh thank god," announced Lily. Then she froze upon realising what she just said. "Um… wait… I mean… I said early it’s not like I’d really be against it… and that… um… but… I implied force… and I was thinking you were… but I mean…"

Kat laughed and stood up so she could pull her girlfriend into a hug. Carefully wrapping her tail around Lily so she had her hands free to pet her girlfriend’s ears Kat murmured. "It’s fine, it’s fine. This is going to be a proper date, and I didn’t expect or want anything like that. You know it’s not what I’m after, and I’m never going to feel the need to push you on it,"

"Sorry… I mean… I know that here," said Lily as she bopped her head against Kat’s shoulder. "But not… hmmm… didn’t think that quite through…" trailed off Lily as she realised what would be necessary to indicate her heart.

Kat just continued to hum softly for a while until Lily calmed down and Kat unwound her tail. "Ready to head off now?" asked Kat.

Lily nodded and went to walk out… only to realise that she was in pyjamas. Squeaking in embarrassment Lily fiddled with her storage ring as she ran into the bathroom. Kat waited for the few moments it took for Lily to change and then the pair step out of the room, and were soon on the streets.

Now that it was nighttime the streets were ’dark’. Sort of. Instead of just leaving things black or dimming the main lamps they’d instead tinted everything a dark blue. It was sort of weird to look at but it did give the impression of night time somewhat. It was also dimmer then the day lights which helped, and only every second one was turned on in a sort of checkerboard pattern. Sort of because in a few spots a bulb was skipped or two or more were lit adjacent to each other, but for the most part it was checkered.

It took some time to walk through the mostly empty streets but soon Kat reached an out of the way alcove that wasn’t marked in any way and slipped inside with Lily following behind her. You needed to crouch down to get inside the entrance but it opened up somewhat into a curvy tunnel. Left and right, left and right, and then there was suddenly a little booth carved into the wall with a sleepy looking person manning the desk. Kat dropped off a gemstone startling the individual.

The clerk tapped it against the wood a few times before shrugging and gesturing them forward without saying a single word. Lily wasn’t sure what was happening but she trusted Kat enough not to even bother asking.

A few more turns and they came to the real surprise… a crack in the wall. "You might want to use your Memphis form for a moment. Oh and keep your eyes closed. It’s a surprise," Lily shrugged and did as asked, hopping into Kat’s hands.

Then Kat slipped through the small gap in the rocks. Her horns were the most annoying part and Kat nearly needed to swap into her water form to make it there… but soon enough she managed it. Carefully putting Lily down on the ground Kat said, "You can look now,"

Lily transformed and opened her eyes to a wonderous sight. They were standing on what seemed to be a glass bridge suspended in a cavern positively covered in crystals. The whole area looked to be a magical geode of some kind larger then she’d ever seen. It was multiple stories tall but the size alone wasn’t what made it magical.

The crystals all shone, sparkled, and shifted. Each one their own special galaxy all by themselves. Some were mostly one solid colours with just the gentlest hint of a current that swirled around slightly lighter and darker areas while others were rainbow cacophonies that exploded and reformed as you looked at them. It was breathtaking and the clear walkway helped allow you to see everything all around you. Lily truly did forget to breath as her entire mind focused on gulping down this wonderful sight, burning as much of it as she could into her memories.
