32. Eventful Dinner

Raina was laying on the comfy bed? her hands covering her eyes.

With a huff she got up and took a look at the time. Dinner time was very close.

Her cloths were wrinkled and sweaty, she badly needed a refreshing bath.

She changed into a decent and comfortable calf length dress.

She was circling the rubber band around her ponytail when Adya entered after knocking the door.

"Let's go.",she signalled her to come with her.

Raina nodded and followed her out of the room silently.

Raina saw a big door, she assumed it to be dining room as chattering could be heard clearly but Adya held her hand and drag a little away from the entrance.

Raina chose to stay silent, Adya stopped in her tracks.

Raina was standing behind Adya, she heard her saying, "Maa sa, Baba sa.. My friend is here."

With that she stepped aside revealing Raina under the gaze of the Royal couple.

Uday Singh Rathore and Vasudha Rathore looked at the beautiful girl standing with a stunned expression on her face.

Her hands automatically folded in respect and she greeted them, "Khamma Ghani."

Those Rajasthani words rolled out of her tongue with ease and fluently.

Both greeted her back. Adya said, "She is the one I was talking about."

Uday Singh placed his hand on her head and smiled a little, "Welcome in our home kid. Have a happy stay here. You are my daughter's friend, so just like my daughter."

Vasudha said, "Yes. Feel comfortable here , don't hesitate in telling if you need something. And let's go, it's dinner time."

Raina nodded her head like a child, Uday Singh removed his palm and walked away with his wife.

It was feeling like a deja vu to Raina, she felt the same comfort, same assurance and same firmness in his voice.

Suddenly a man in his early twenties came and shouted in Adya's ear, "Jiji sa...."

Adya jumped in fear, but when she saw Adhvan laughing his heart out, she whacked his head.

Adhvan hissed in pain, he rubbed his head, soon his eyes fell in Raina, so he composed himself.

Adya also remembered that Raina was watching them.

Earlier his face was not clear due to slight darkness but when Adya pulled him towards her, Raina recognised him in an instant- the same man who came along with Rohan that day to pick Adhiraj and her from that village.

Adhvan was also mirroring her expression.

Adya said with a smile, "Raina. Meet my younger brother Adhvan. And Adhvan meet my friend Raina. She will stay here with us."

Adhvan's head snnaped in her direction. He wanted to say something but there was another person standing with both of them.

He just stared at Adya who was looking at Raina, she squeezed his arm which she was holding .

Adhvan grasped what she was saying, he quickly looked at Raina who was looking at them already, little nervousness could be seen on her face.

He forwarded his hand, "Hiii Raina."

Raina also placed her palm in his hand thinking that he didn't remember her , she greeted him back, "Hello.."

Adhvan nudged Adya, "Let's go for dinner."

Adya nodded and three of them walked towards dining room, Adhvan was making small talks and Adya was trying to include Raina as much as she could do.

Raina entered the well lighted dining room, almost twenty people were seating around the rectangular table.

Adya pulled her along and made her seat beside her. Her parents settled on the head chair.

Raina nudged her, "Why there are so many people??"

Adya whispered back, "I will tell you later."

Servants came and placed the dishes on the table.

Raina's hand was going towards the fork but stopped in mid way , she heard some footsteps.

She turned her head a little, Adhiraj was walking towards them with a disciplined posture.

Looking different in black t-shirt and grey trousers, he came there and greeted his parents. People present on the table also greeted him and he settled on his chair returning the gesture.

Raina shifted back hiding behind Adya. She didn't wanted him to find her there.

Adhiraj was having small bites of food while talking a little with his parents and other elder men.

Involuntarily her eyes again went to him who was oblivious of her presence till now, for a minute Raina drooled over his biceps which were flexing due to his hand movements, his black t-shirt was also clinging over his broad shoulders and his way of speaking was attractive too. Raina cleared her throat slowly.

Adya was also chatting with other girls partially forgetting her, and she was thankful for less amount of attention on her.

"Hukum, who is this pretty lady with you today?", a woman asked Adya with a genuine smile.

Raina closed her eyes cursing her fate, did she feel thankful too early?

Adhiraj also heard her question, he looked in the direction of Adya with interest but Adya was covering the girl , Adya shifted a little allowing him to look at the girl.

His grip on the spoon was tightened after seeing Raina seating there with her eyes casted down.

Adya informed, "She is my friend, she is new in this city so I invited her."

Woman nodded her head again asked directly to Raina, "What is your name young woman.??"

By that time Raina knew that Adhiraj was looking at her, she took a breath and replied, "It's Raina Kashyap Bai sa.."

Another lady asked her, "Kashyap?? Never heard of this surname.. Where are you from?"

Raina smiled politely, "Kashyap is not my surname, it is my second name to accompany my forename and I am from Mumbai."

That lady again said, "Living away from parents must be hectic for you. Right? I remember my daughter used to call me twice a day when she went away."

She chuckled at end remembering her daughter's antics.

Raina looked at her for a minute and then she said, "My parents are no more so living at any other place doesn't make much difference for me."

She didn't wanted to say that but words just came out from her mouth.

Everyone, literally everyone was looking at her now... Raina cleared her throat to ease the thick air surrounding her mind.

Another woman who was a complete chatterbox exclaimed, "Oh.. So sad, you must be living with your relatives , after all growing up alone in this world is so tough."

Adhiraj pulled his lips in thin line, he wanted to stop this conversation right then but he could not just told that woman to shut her mouth.

He looked at Adya who was also looking baffled at the new revelation.

Her eyes turned to Adhiraj naturally, whenever she faced any problem , first person she remembered was Adhiraj..

He signalled her to stop all this but Adya's mind was not working.

Raina smiled a little at her but her tone was perfect contrast to her soft smile, it was cold, "Aunty, I have been living my whole life on my own. I don't live with any relatives because I don't have any. I was brought up in a child shelter home or you can say an orphanage till 18. But that also doesn't means that I don't have caring people.. By God's grace I got some beautiful friends and Adya is one of them."

Adhiraj didn't thought that she would answer her so boldly.

Raina's firm voice didn't allowed anybody else to open their respective mouth again.

Finally God showed some mercy on her, her phone went off. Raina checked it, Akshit was calling her.

Even Raina was not in the mood of staying other minute there, she excused herself politely and went out of the room. Adya sighed in relief.

"I want reason Adya. " , Adya was cornered by her brother after the dinner.

"Bhai sa, to be very clear, I did this only for her safety. She will be safe here the most.", Adya said calmly. Adhvan also nodded his head.

"You see what happened at dinner. Right?", Adhiraj raided his one eyebrow.

"I know Bhai sa. But didn't you see how Raina shut her mouth, and I don't think so that they will again dare to ask her any question.", Adya chuckled saying the last part.

"If you have invited her to say at your home then take care of her needs. She is our guest , she should not face any problem again. Make a note of it. Anyways ,I am retiring to my bed.", Adhiraj said seriously looking at both of his siblings.

They nodded their head.

Raina cut the call. Akshit and Dia were literally eating her brain from past ten minutes.

Both were asking about Adya's home but she didn't tell them about Adya being the Royal to them.

She didn't have much energy left in her today and she was going to need it most in her two bestfriends's case.

She was standing in a balcony which she found in the end of corridor. This place was really very peaceful. Air was flowing smoothly and the twinkling moonlight was like cherry on the top.

It was on little height, she could see various parts of palace enlightened with yellow lights complementing the palace very well.

She walked backside still looking at the vast sky , she turned her right side abruptly not noticing the approaching man.

Raina used her reflexes to it's maximum point to stop herself banging his chest.

Raina took a step back and placed her hand on her chest to ease her quicken breathing.

Adhiraj asked, "Are you okey??"

Raina nodded her head.

Adhiraj tucked his hands inside his trousers pocket and said after a minute when he noticed her calming down, "Ms. Raina, I am sorry for the inconvenience at dinner time."

Raina shook her head, "Why are saying sorry, it was not your fault."

Adhiraj nodded his head and said, "It's late Ms. Raina.. You should go to your room."

Raina started going past him so do Adhiraj but she turned and called him loudly, "Sir!!"

Adhiraj turned his head to look back, Raina came towards him and asked more like accused, "Sir.. Does kicking someone from their respective job due to personal reason sound fair to you??"

Adhiraj thought that she won't dare to ask this question to him directly noticing her silent behavior around him but to whom he was kidding?

She stays silent most of the time but whenever she speaks , she has a point and one can't back away without giving her answers.

He didn't know but a smile came on his face, he took a step forward and said, "No. It doesn't. But Ms. Raina, I hope that you already know the truth."

Raina meekly nodded after seeing him taking another step towards him.

Adhiraj smile was turning into a smirk slowly, "Then I don't think that you have any problem with that. Do you?"

Raina shook her head in negative nervously.

Adhiraj was enjoying her surprised face alot, he again took a step towards her, "And even if you felt hurt by it then my sincere apologies."

Raina took two steps back to create a decent distance between them. Adhiraj noticed that her back was going to hit the sharp edge of pillar.

He quickly held her elbow and pulled her towards him , he made a disappointing face, "Careful, you could have hit your back pretty badly."

She looked back at the pillar not noticing their closeness.

Adhiraj clicked his fingers to gain her attention, when she looked at him he said, "Three things can't be hidden, sun, moon and TRUTH. Truth is bound to come out."

Raina gazed at him with beating heart, his eyes were speaking more then his words, seriousness and sincerity twirling in them gave a chill to her.

'Is he pointing at something else', she couldn't help but to think that.

He said releasing her from his grip, "Good night Ms. Raina. Take care of yourself and don't be so clumsy."

His smirk was clear to her, she muttered seeing his back, "I am not clumsy."

She also turned and started going towards her room but his words were still ringing in her ears, "Truth is bound to come."
