30. Convincing Raina

Adhiraj POV-

I was coming out from my father's cabin conversing with our family advocate.

Mostly I am doing my official work from home itself as it was decided that I should join office after the announcement of me taking over the CEO position.

Today I was called here to discuss some legal matters..

That lawyer also went away after a minute.

I was walking to the exit, I looked around, the floor was almost quite with just a little bit of sound, early office hours are just like this.

I went towards the elevator but a sight caught my eyes...

Raina was standing near the coffee machine waiting for her coffee, her nose buried in a file. The man passed her the mug which she took without looking at it.

Her fingers accidentally touched the bottom part which was steaming hot , her eyes widened and she pulled her hand really quick. Her face scrunched like a kid who got hurt while playing.

A chuckle escaped my mouth , she was blowing small puff of air on her finger.

I shook my head at her carelessness, I moved towards the elevator but as soon as it opened someone entered in it and to my surprise that girl was Adya.

I entered behind her and she was also stunned to see me there.

Door closed and we were alone in the lift. She asked surprised, "Bhai sa... You..??? Here..??"

I shrugged, "Yeah... Some matters came up.."

She nodded her head.

I asked looking at front of us, "So??? You didn't give letter to her??"

Author's POV-

Adya closed her eyes in frustration , she took a breath and turned to face her brother, "Why are you so adamant on pushing her away?? By the way, I have already found a perfect place for her."

Adhiraj raised his eyebrows on her, "Ohh really..??"

Adya nodded her head, "Yeah.."

Adhiraj said, "That's good then.."

He wore his goggles and exited the lift.. Adya sighed in relief.. Her brother didn't know what she was planning.

After a bit of insisting her parents agreed to her demand. Now only she had to convince Raina about it and she had done her half work in that field.

Raina was lying leisurely on the couch placed in living room and staring at the ceiling...

Someone knocked the door, she got up and reached the door, Adya rushed in as soon as she opened it .

"Adya..? You? Here?", Raina closed the door and came towards her.

Adya slumped on the couch and motioned to sit on the chair placed nearby, "Yes Raina...All good? "

Raina nodded and settled on the chair.

After a bit of chatting, Adya said what she wanted to, "I have something important to talk."

Raina blinked her eyes waiting for her to speak something.

Adya sat straight and cleared her throat, "Raina, straight coming to point, I want you to shift with me."

Raina was bewildered at her sudden commanding tone , "Excuse me, what??"

Adya realised that she should have tried to represent her point more softly.

Adya smiled awkwardly, "Oh.. I mean that now Neha is on medical leave, you are alone here so why not you come to my house??"

Raina shook her head, "No Adya, I am perfectly fine here."

Adya again said, "Raina.. Please come , what will you do here all alone."

Raina didn't know what to say but again she replied politely, " I am fine here, and I don't want to trouble you."

Adya looked away thinking how to convince this headstrong girl sitting in front of her. Not finding any other way she decided to do the last thing she could do.

She took her bag and pulled that white envelope out, she put that on her hand.

Raina was confused but nonetheless she opened that letter.

Adya was looking here and there but a loud voice startled her, "What the hell is this??"

Adya looked at Raina who was shocked. Adya tried to calm her, "Raina.. Listen to me."

Raina looked up at her tearing her gaze on that paper, "What should I understand?? Can anyone tell me why am I getting fired?"

Adya pulled her beside herself on the couch and made her sit.

Raina again asked, "What is my mistake Adya?"

Adya took her hands in between her palms and said, "First, listen the whole matter Raina.."

Raina nodded , her mind still dwelling on those printed words.

Adya started cautiously explaining that how she was attacked a day earlier and how it was related to Adhiraj and why she was getting fired and how she can stop it.

"That's why I am telling you to come with me", Adya tried to convince her.

Raina threw her hands in air, "That's insane Adya... What does it mean? That I will have to hide??"

Adya shook her head, "No Raina. We just want you to be safe, that's it. And Adhiraj sir will handle the matter soon, after that you will be free to live your life without any tension."

Raina was irritated by now, "But going to your house?? Isn't it too weird?? And what is the guarantee that your home is safe for me? "

Adya said calmly, "To answer your last question... Yeah, my house is absolutely safe for you, at least better then living alone in this apartment and about your first query, if it is looking so weird to you then you have only one option left, that is to go back to Mumbai. "

Taking a deep breath, "I talked to Akshit this afternoon."

Raina's head snapped on her direction. When Adya saw her looking with wide and tensed eyes she said, "Don't worry , I haven't said a word about that incident."

This calmed Raina a bit but again a question popped up in her mind , which she didn't hesitate to vocalise in front of Adya, "Then what did you talk to him?"

Adya replied, "I said that you are alone here so it will be good if you accompany me to my house. He was okey with it and he even said that if you are facing any problem here then he won't hesitate to drag you back to Mumbai. Now it's your decision, My home or Mumbai. I will be okey with whatever you will decide."

Adya looked at Raina who was pacing in living room . Raina didn't know what to do. She felt like screaming at Adya.

She thought, "What was the need to call Akshit?? God..!! What I will do now?"

Just like that almost fifteen minutes passed . Adya's neck was paining by now after looking at her moving left and right.

Raina's gaze fell on a notebook and pen kept on the small wooden table. She had noted almost every information in it she gained in few days.

"I can't go back now when I have possibilities of knowing the truth. I can't.. And with Akshit's constant insistence on going back, I wont be able to focus."

She turned to Adya, "Okey."

Adya didn't understand, "Okey???"

Raina said again in strong voice, "Okey, I will come with you."

Adya stood up and clapped her hands happily, "That's great."

Raina said with a tensed expression, "But I need to pack my things."

Adya nodded understanding her problem, "Okey.... I will came back after two hours... I think this much time will be enough for you, then we will go to my home sweet home."

Adya was visibly excited and happy.

Raina also smiled lightly concealing her tensed face.

Now Raina is going inside the Royal Palace, what will happen?

Nor Raina neither Adhiraj knew about Adya's plan.. 😌😌
