8.Friends and Dinner

Her eyes widened in shock, " You? What are you doing here?"

That man removed his hoodie and said, "Thank god! You still remember me."

He gave her a mischievous smile.

Raina was very angry on seeing him and like her hand had the mind of its own, she slapped him hard.

He held his cheek and stared at Raina with shock who was seething in anger.

Raina entered her apartment and as usual, Dia had kept the door open.

"Careless girl.", Raina muttered after seeing her watching TV while munching on waffles.

She stood behind her and glanced at the TV, "What are you watching so keenly that you even forget to lock the door?"

She said still not acknowledging her presence, "See. Akshit's interview is going on."

Raina now noticed the program.

The journalist asked, "So Mr Nagar what are your plans??"

A dashing man in his early twenties was settled in front of the host answered, "You already know that my family business is settled in France, so I am planning to shift it back to India soon and I will also pursue my carrier as a singer. "

"After being an internet sensation for few years, do you think that you will get a place in music industry?"

"Well let's see what the future has stored for me and I am ready to work hard for my passion."

"You already belong to a billionaire family, so why do you want to struggle for a singing carrier when you are already the CEO of your family business?"

"Singing is my passion, my love whereas business is my responsibility. You can't compare them, both have their importance.", his question left the anchor marveling over him.

"Who supported you most in your life?", the host read the question.

"My family was always there for me but I lost my parents in my teenage years, I was in shock and depressed for almost a year then my grandfather supported me. I stopped singing but my two friends brought me back to the world of music, even they are the ones who gave me the idea of singing on YouTube. These three people are my strength and weakness both.", nostalgia hit him hard.

Dia said while seeing him, "God!! He is so cute. I want to go inside this box and pinch his cheeks."

Akshit Nagar. (26 years old)

A voice came, "No need to go inside the TV, I am here with my cheeks at your service ma'am."

Dia jumped and turned to see the same man standing on the door frame, "OMG!! Akshit. When did you return from Paris."

She went and hugged him.

He said while hugging her back, "Today morning."

Dia broke apart from the hug and hit him on the head. He hissed in pain, "Ouch!! dude. First Raina slapped me hard and now you too. "

Dia asked amused, "She slapped you?"

Akshit pouted, "Yeah. I went to her office to give her a surprise. First, she came half an hour late and when she saw my face, her angry mode turned on."

He pointed at his slightly red cheeks.

Raina rolled her eyes at that.

Dia said, "Even I am angry with you. What is this? You came directly after eight months. I thought you will not even come for your b'day."

Akshit said, "How can I not come. It is our rule from past years. I was busy with business so I couldn't come but now we will meet often as I am shifting here."

He said cheerfully and walked to Raina who was still sulking.

He held his ears, "Sorry. I am very very sorry. Please forgive me as I am forgiving you."

Raina narrowed her eyes, "Excuse me! What did I do to be forgiven and who asked for your apology."

He countered, "You slapped me. "

She shrugged, "So? It was your punishment. "

Dia gets irritated with their banter and shouted, "Okey guys, enough! Stop this sorry game. What's up with you guys? Always fighting. You both are adult now so behave like one."

Akshit pouted and whispered to Raina, "Now she started scolding us like her students."

Dia said with a blank face, "I heard that. "

The other two exclaimed in unison, "Oh No!!!"

With that Raina ran to her room and Akshit ran to Dia's room to fresh up.

Raina came from her room wiping her hands with a towel and slumped on the sofa beside Akshit.

Dia asked coming from the kitchen, "So guys let's go for dinner. What say?"

Raina was not in the mood to get ready again and go for dinner, that's why she said, "Not today dude, I am very tired to go outside. Let's order something."

Akshit said, "No way. I am not going to eat anything from outside. Please, cook something here. For past months, I didn't eat Indian homemade food."

Dia said raising her hand in the air, "Then tell Raina to make it. I am cooking dinner for the past two days."

Akshit looked at Raina with puppy eyes pleading with her silently. Raina huffed, "Okay. I will make it just because you came after a long time. What do you want to have?"

Akshit exclaimed, "Laal Mans."

Raina raised her eyebrows at his demand, "Are you sure? I mean will you handle it? Last time you started crying."

Akshit said, "Ohh! That? Actually, at that time I couldn't control spices nicely but that dish was very tasty, a little spicy, but delicious."

After that Raina started cooking food while Dia was seating on the kitchen counter talking nonstop while Akshit was helping Raina. After one hour, the food was ready. They set up the table. Everything was looking mouth-watering.

( Laal Maas is a Rajasthani dish. It is a meat curry in which meat is cooked in a sauce of yoghurt and hot spices such as Red Mathania Chillies. It is typically very hot and spicy)

(Indian Chappaties or Roti)

After five minutes, Akshit's eyes were filled with tears but he was continuously eating, "Dude! This is so tasty. Yummm!!!"

He moaned relishing the dish.

Dia was having the food along with the cup of ice cream so that she can maintain the taste but Raina was having food normally. As soon as they finished the food, Akshit dragged them to the car for ice cream.

Raina was trying hard to control her laughter because Akshit was behaving like a maniac. He was hitting the steering wheel, "Oh My God! My mouth is burning. Dia!! Why the hell did you eat the last ice cream all by yourself, you should have saved some for me."

Dia countered, "Did you tell me to save for you earlier? No! And what were you saying? I can handle spices very well." She said mimicking him.

Raina shook her head at their antics.

Okay!!! Who was saying Akshit is bad?
