Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 76 BLAIRE âYouâve got to be kidding and watched as police carsured to myself as I looked outside the window and watched as police cars pulled over in front of the gate. âShe really didnât know when to stop.â
Catherine followed through with her threat. Well, Iâm not actually surprised. Knowing her, sheâll do anything in her power to get what she wants. My father spoiled her too much.
I turned to the bed where Blaze was sleeping. Iâm just relieved that Blaze didnât have to witness this commotion.
I continue watching from the window, assessing whether the staff can handle the situation. Iâm exhausted, and I donât want to see Catherine again. I had enough of her for the night.
This is among those rare moments that I wish Sebastian was here so heâd be the one to handle his raging wife. They waited a few minutes outside the gate before the guard let them in. It seems like they have no choice but to allow them in after one of the policemen handed the guard a paper.
I let out a loud sigh before I decided to go out and face them. As I walked down the stairs, I could already see the smug look on Catherineâs face while she was followed by a few uniformed men.
âI told you, this isnât over,â she said, crossing her arms in front of her chest and arching her brow.
I just roll my eyes at her before shifting my attention towards the men standing behind her. âGood evening, gentlemen. What can I do for you?â I greeted.
They were all surprised as they looked at each other with confusion written all over their faces. âGood evening, Miss...â
âBanks. Sheâs Miss Banks.â Catherine finished their sentence for them, strengthening her claim as the woman of this house.
âHow can I help you, officer?â I asked, ignoring Catherineâs bitter remark.
âGood evening, madam. Weâre here to serve you this warrant,â he said as he handed me a paper.
âMay I know what the charges are?â I asked casually, despite having a hint of what is this all about. Though I accepted the paper that he gave, I didnât bother opening it since I 111 O 10.34 Wed, 28 Feb Chapter 76 already had an idea what it was for.
âTrespas sing and physical assault, madam,â he answered.

+5 Thatâs the only time that I decided to open the letter. Upon checking, this seems legit. Though the timeline and how fast she was able to get a warrant seem suspicious, She probably used her connection to have this release, considering the time and her lack of evidence.
This time, I donât think I would be able to use my bluff. I donât have any proof that this house still belongs in my name.
âWhat are you waiting for, officer? Drag this woman out of this house!â Catherine ordered.
Two of the policemen grabbed my arms on both sides as they started to pull me out of the house. My immediately quickly went to my son, who was currently resting upstairs. I panic w thoughts about Catherine discovering the truth about my son get into my head. I canât imagine what sheâll be able to do to my son once she becomes aware of it.
I donât care if I go to jail. I just need to make sure that my son is okay. I was about to run upstairs to get Blaze when someone caught our attention.
âWhatâs going on here? Why are there policemen in my house?â Sebastian said, frowning as he entered the house. âWhat are you doing here?â he added upon seeing Catherine.
âWhy shouldnât I? Iâm your wife. I have every right to be here!â she replied.
Sebastian was left speechless as I watched his jaw tighten. However we want to alter the truth, sheâs right. He decided to ignore Catherine and turned to one of the officers in charge.
âWhatâs happening here, officer?â he asked.
âMrs. Foster filed charges against Miss Banks. Sheâs accusing her of trespas sing and physical assault,â the office answered.
He then turned towards the officer who was holding me. âLet her go, or Iâll make you the one facing charges,â he threatened. He then turned to the officer in charge once again. âIâd like to apologize for the disturbance Catherine made, officer. But it seems like thereâs a misunderstanding going on here,â he said. âClifford,â he called out his name. Thatâs when I noticed him standing behind his back.
Clifford nodded and excused himself. We all stayed silent as we waited for Clifford to come back.
10:35 Wed, 28 Feb Chapter 76 G âHere you go, sir,â he said as he handed Sebastian a folder.
èªå®¶62%å âOfficer, this house, well, in fact, belongs to Miss Banks. You can see it for yourself,â he said as he handed them the envelope.
âSo, Iâm afraid your trespas sing charge was already out of the picture. As for the assault, I believe using a reasonable amount of force to remove a trespasser from your home isnât illegal. Not unless you and your fellow officers have different opinions,â he said with his eyes so sharp that they could cut through anything.
The lead officer opened the envelope and started reading what was inside. I quickly saw how his face changed upon reading what was on the paper. He cleared his throat and put the paper in the envelope before putting up a fake smile.
âIâm sorry, Mr. Foster. We didnât mean to cause any harm. We are just doing our job. based on the complaint,â he explained.
âWell, youâre clearly not doing your job properly,â Sebastian answered.
The officers lowered their heads in embarrassment. âAgain, we apologize for the inconvenience, Mr. Foster. Weâll go ahead,â the lead officer said.
âWhat? It canât be! You have to arrest her!â Catherine objected. âHeâs clearly making it up. Iâm pretty sure that document was forged,â she insisted.
âYou are free to have it authenticated, Catherine. But before then, I will ask you to leave,â Sebastian said. âOfficer, will you please escort this lady as you leave?â
âYes, sir,â he answered. âMaâam, letâs go.â He then held Catherine as he tried to make her leave.
âNo! Iâm not going anywhere! I am your wife, Sebastian! I have every right to be here!â she insisted.
Sebastian stayed silent as he watched Catherine being dragged out of the house by the police officers that she brought with her.
âSebastian! You canât do this to me! Sebastian!â Catherine continued to scream loud enough to awaken everyone in the house.
Sheâs being so hysterical that the police officers had no choice but to carry her.
Sebastian holds my arm gently. âCome on, letâs get inside,â he said.
I followed him, but my eyes remained with Catherine. Iâm not sure why, but my heart goes with her even in this kind of situation. I canât blame her entirely for her actions. Sheâs right. Sheâs Sebastianâs wife, and she has every right to be on Sebastianâs property. She has more rights than me. I shouldnât be here.

I donât know whatâs going on with her and Sebastian. But whatever it is, I shouldnât be part of any of it.
âIâm sorry about that. I wasnât expecting her to show up.
+5 I sna tched my arm from him and confronted him. âWhat were you expecting, Sebastian? You brought your mistress into your house. How do you expect your wife to react?â
He was taken aback. He probably wasnât expecting my outburst as well. âI will fix this,â he answered.
âHow? How can you fix this chaotic situation?â I snorted. âAre you going to imprison us on an island?â I asked sarcastically.
âI promise you, Catherine wonât be able to disturb you again,â he said, ignoring my sarcastic remark.
âYouâre completely missing the point, Sebastian! Catherine has every right to be mad right now. I know it because thatâs how I felt when you brought her to our house and chose to cheat on me with her! Donât you understand?âKeeping us here wonât fix anything!â
âThen, what do you want me to do?â he yelled in frustration. I can see the pain in his eyes when I remind him of what he did. He clearly regretted what he did, but it wonât change the facts about what happened in the past.
âWe canât continue living in the past, Sebastian. We canât pretend that by trapping us here, everything will miraculously fall back into place, just like before. Weâre ruined. Our family was ruined. Imprisoning us here wonât make me change my mind. Iâve already accepted the fact that our relationship is over. What happened on the island was my last gift to myself. I may have loved you still, but that was not enough to make me stay. Iâm not living only for myself now. I have Blaze, and I need to protect him. I canât afford to have Catherine always at my throat, threatening the peace I was dreaming of for my son.â
He let out a loud sigh. My chest tightened when I saw the tears running down his cheeks. He was sobbing. âWhat do you want me to do, Blaire?â His voice cracked as his tears continued flowing from his eyes.
I wanted to hold him. However, I know that it wouldnât change anything. It will only give us false hope that everything will be okay.
We will never be a complete family. We already lost that chance a long time ago. So many hurtful words had been said, and many unforgivable sins had been done. We can never take that back.
âSet us free, Sebastian. Thatâs what I want you to do. We will never stop hurting each other unless we set each other free. Let us go,â I pleaded.

5 Itâs breaking me inside, but I know that itâs the only way for us to be happy. I love him, yes. I still love him despite everything that happened. However, that love wasnât enough to erase all the pain that he caused me. I may be able to forgive him, but I donât think Iâd be able to move forward with him around.
âI want to be a part of my sonâs life, Blaire. I want to give him the life that he deserves.â
âAnd what life would that be? A peaceful life away from this chaos is the life that he deserves. Will you be able to give him that?
As long as Catherine is in the picture, Blazeâs will be in constant agony. Iâm sure as hell that Catherine wouldnât stop after the stunt she pulled tonight.â
âI can assure you.â
âYou canât assure anything, Sebastian!â I cut him off. âCatherine will not stop as long as weâre here. Now that she knows Iâm back, she will do anything to ruin me. What if she finds out the truth about Blaze? Who knows what sheâs capable of doing to me and my son? This isnât about us anymore. Think about Blaze!â
âHeâs the one that Iâm thinking about; thatâs why Iâm trying my best to fix everything. I wanted a life with my son and with you.
Catherine and I were over even before you came back. I have been asking for a divorce for years. Iâm trying, Blaire. Iâm really trying,â he replied.
I took a loud breath. âThereâs nothing to fix, Sebastian. Our relationship was so damaged that itâs already impossible to fix.â
âNo, no, no. Please donât say that. I know you still love me. And so am I. Iâm willing to wait until you find it in your heart to forgive me. I donât care how long it takes. I will stay here beside you and try to amend everything.â
âBut thatâs the thing, Sebastian. I already forgave you. If thatâs what you were asking for from me, then Iâm telling you, I forgave you. However, that doesnât mean that we can pick up where we left off. That part of our lives ended a long time ago. Thereâs nothing left to fix.â
I was stunned when he suddenly fell on his knees, begging and crying. âPlease donât say that.â His voice cracked as he held my hand tightly while kneeling in front of me.
âIâm sorry, Sebastian. Please, let us go. Iâm begging you.â I forcefully removed his hand, holding mine. I wanted to leave as fast as I could. If I stayed for another minute, I might be back with my words. It pains me to watch him lower himself and beg me to give him another chance. But Iâve already given him enough chances, and he blew them.
I walked away, leaving him kneeling on the floor. I tried my best not to look back because I knew for myself that I might be running back to him if I did. I have to do this. This is for the best. /
