Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 73 BLAIRE âYou canât be serious?â I asked sarcastically.
âOn the contrary, I have no time for jokes, Blaire.â
I clenched my fist, trying to hold back my anger. I know heâs cruel, but I never imagined that he could be this cruel. âIâm not leaving this place without my son,â I insisted.
âThen, you are free to stay for as long as you, love,â he replied.
âDonât call me that!â I roll my eyes at him in annoyance.
âWhy? You donât seem to have a problem when I call you that while you were beneath me, moaning my name,â he teased.
I rolled my eyes in response. I shouldnât let charm affect me the way it usually does. This wasnât just about us anymore. If I donât play my cards well, I might end up losing the game that we were playing. I need to be smarter and wiser.
âIf youâre after Blaze, then be prepared to battle it out in court. Until then, he stays with me,â I asserted before pivoting away.
Staying in close quarters with Sebastian longer than it should wasnât the best idea. I need to maintain my distance from him.
âAre you sure about that, Blaire? Do you really want to fight me in court?â he challenged.
âI may not have much chance of winning against you, but Iâd rather fight and lose than do nothing at all,â I answered bravely.
âMotherhood seems to suit you, Blaire. Youâve grown even braver and stronger than usual,â he remarked.
âItâs because I was left with no options. I have to be brave and strong for the both of us,â I replied.
âIâm sorry,â he said, barely a whisper.
angst is I immediately saw the changes in his eyes. What was once full of arrogance and now filled with sorrow and regret. For a brief second, I felt the urge to comfort him. He may not be the best husband that I could ever have, but thereâs a chance that he could be a good father to Blaze. Despite my reservation, Iâm still more inclined to protect my son than to take the risk and let him enter my sonâs life. I donât care if I get hurt along the way, but I canât afford to risk my son going through that pain of abandonment and rejection.
1/6 Chapter 73 âIf you truly regret it, Sebastian, youâd allow us to leave,â I countered.
He remained silent for a minute, staring into my eyes as if he were meticulously weighing all his options. Iâm silently praying that his answer will be in my favor.
âThis house is big for the three of us. Iâm not taking Blaze away from you. Iâm actually offering you to stay with us,â he said when he finally answered.
+5 I blew out an exasperated sigh. What am I expecting? Of course, he wouldnât back down that easily.
âMy answer is no.â
âIf thatâs the case, then you are free to go, Blaire. But Blaze will stay in this house whether youâre here or not,â he said with finality.
âWeâre leaving. You can try and stop me, but Iâm bringing Blaze with me,â I replied. before barging out of the room.
Iâm kind of bothered that Sebastian remained calm as I walked out of the room. He was just watching my every move. His actions sent off the vibe that he was not bothered at all. It was as if he were telling me that no matter how hard I tried, I had no other option but to stay.
âBlaze, weâre leaving!â I announced. I offered my hand to him, which he quicklyâ accepted. We walked together towards the door, but as soon as we reached the door, Brad blocked our way. âReally?â I squinted my eyes as I turned towards the stairs, where Sebastian was currently watching us from the railings like a g od, and we were at his mercy.
âAs I said, you are free to go, Blaire,â he reminded me.
âBrad, get out of the way,â I asked Brad calmly.
âIâm sorry, Miss Blaire. Iâm afraid I canât do that,â he responded.
I was ready to fight him with myself when I felt a gentle tug on the hem of my shirt. âMommy, whatâs happening? Iâm scared,â he said with his eyes filled with fear and confusion.
I glanced at Sebastian, noting the raised eyebrow and the slight tug at the corner of his lips, as if he were daring me to make my next move.
It frustrates me that I canât be so careless with Blaze around me. He still had no idea who Sebastian was, and by making a scene, Iâm afraid that it would raise questions that he might not yet be ready to hear. Aside from all of that, he just got out of the hospital, and it hadnât been long since he got out of surgery. The stress of this situation might 2/6 09:58 Sat, 17 Feb Chapter 73 G 79%

I picked up Blaze and hugged him tightly. If I have to push Brad as hard as I can to get past him, I will.
Blaze wrapped his arm around my neck as he whispered, âMommy, Iâm scared.â
âHold on, baby.â
As I moved to push Brad aside, a pair of men in black suits suddenly appeared, seemingly out of thin air, effectively barricading our path forward. Their imposing presence sent a shiver down my spine, and I instinctively took a step back, my heart pounding with apprehension. Thereâs no way I can get past this group of men blocking our way.
âMommy, I canât breathe,â Blaze whispered while clutching his chest.
My eyes widen in panic. I turned to Sebastian with horror in my eyes. I was too shocked to speak, but itâs a good thing that he managed to read my face He quickly grabbed Blaze from my arms and assessed him for a second. He then turned to Brad and gave him an order. âCall Magnus and bring him to Blazeâs room,â he said.
âYes, Mr. Foster,â he said before moving immediately.
Sebastian quickly went upstairs, carrying Blaze. His lips were starting to get pale, and he couldnât even lift his head. Iâm starting to panic right at that moment.
As soon as we reached the room, I was surprised when the doctors were already here. The room that we went to was full of medical equipment, as if Sebastian had brought the whole hospital to his house.
Sebastian gently placed Blaze on the bed, and without delay, the medical team sprang into action. They swiftly assessed Blazeâs condition, swiftly connecting him to an oxygen supply and a monitoring device to track his vital signs.
âWhatâs happening to my son, doctor?â I asked, growing increasingly anxious. âCan somebody please answer me?!â Despite raising my voice, the medical team remained focused on their urgent task, leaving my questions unanswered.
âLetâs go outside, Blaire. Let them do their job. They will do everything to make sure Blaze is okay,â Sebastian said as he gently grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the room.
As soon as we stepped outside, I yanked my arm away from his grip. âDonât touch me,â I snapped through clenched teeth. âThis is all because of you!â I shouted, directing my anger squarely at him. âIf you hadnât taken my son from the hospital, none of this 3/6 09:58 Sat, 17 Feb G Chapter 73 would be happening! Are you satisfied now? Is this how far youâre willing to go just to make my life miserable? What did I do to you to deserve this?â Iâm pouring out all my anger and frustration thatâs building inside me towards Sebastian.
âI didnât take him out of the hospital, Blaire. Canât you see? I brought the hospital here to make sure that heâs well taken care of.
Do you really think that I will put my sonâs life in danger just to spite you?â
I was taken aback. It took me a moment to register that he had converted his guest room into a safe haven for Blaze, complete with medical equipment and standby doctors.
5 âWe may have our differences, but I would never put my sonâs life at risk just because of our unresolved issues from the past,â he said. âI understand your concern, but rest assured, Blaze is in capable hands,â he reassured me, attempting to soothe my anxiety. âI know this isnât what you had in mind, but letâs be honest, Blaze will be safer here than wherever youâre planning to take him.â
It seems like Sebastian won the first round. What he said makes perfect sense. But the game hasnât ended. I still have a few tricks up my sleeve. I just need some time to think about my next move. For now, I agree that itâs best for Blaze to stay where he can be attended, given his current situation.
âThis isnât over, Sebastian,â I warned him.
He just chuckled as a response, as if he wasnât even bothered by my threat. âIâm looking forward to it,â he said, flashing his ever-
dashing smile that can melt a thousand hearts.
We exchanged silent glances for a moment, assessing each otherâs expressions. The quiet was interrupted by the creak of the door opening, and the doctor came out of the door. Itâs the only time that I manage to get a good look at the doctor who has been taking care of my son. I noticed how charming and handsome this doctor is.
âBlaze is doing fine for now. We still need to monitor his condition, but heâs already out of danger. I suggest that we avoid exposing him to any stressful situations and refrain from doing strange activities,â the doctor advises. âThat includes traveling,â
he quickly added while staring directly at me. âAgain, no stress,â he continued, but this time he was looking at Sebastian.
âWhy are you looking at me?â Sebastian complained, frowning.
âWe both know youâre the one whoâs giving stress to these two,â he replied.
âIâm paying you a hefty amount of money to take care of my son, not give your unsolicited opinion,â Sebastian said.
âWhatever, bud! Iâm just here for the gossip!â he said with a playful smirk on his lips.

+5 âNice meeting you, Blaire,â he said as he turned in my direction before reaching out his hand.
Though I was a little bit confused, I accepted his hand. âNice to meet you, doc,â I replied.
âMagnus. Please call me Magnus. And Iâm the most incredible cardiothoracic surgeon in the whole world.â
âStay away from her if you still want to live,â Sebastian threatened.
âI want to see you try, buddy,â Magnus responded.
I rolled my eyes while listening to their banter. I canât tell if theyâre good friends or the opposite. I canât stand listening to them, so I took the liberty of getting inside the room to check on my son.
âHi, mom,â Blaze greeted me with a weak voice upon seeing me.
âHi, honey. How are you feeling?â I asked him.
âIâm feeling better now, mom.â
âIâm glad youâre okay now.â I felt relieved knowing that my son was finally out of danger.
âMom, who are those men? Are they bad? Are we in trouble?â Blaze asked, his eyes reflecting a mix of curiosity and concern.
I took a deep breath before I gently leaned closer to him. âEverything is fine, honey,â I assure him as I gently caress his cheeks.
âHow do you feel about staying here for a little while?â I inquired, hoping to soothe his nerves.
âWe can stay here, mommy,â he asked as his eyes immediately lit up. It seems like Blaze grew fond of this place during the short span of time that he was here.
âOnly for a few days,â I told him, forcing a smile on my face.
âThatâs okay, Mommy! As long as youâre with me, Iâm happy wherever we go!â He exclaimed, wrapping me in a warm embrace.
I didnât notice Sebastian walking toward us. âHow do you like your room, Blaze?â
We both turned at once in his direction. âAre you a friend of my mommy?â Blaze asked curiously.
Sebastian and I looked at each other, weighing the situation. âYou could say that,â Sebastian answered without giving Blaze much context.
5/6 09:58 Sat, 17 Feb Chapter 73 I let out a sigh of relief upon hearing his answer.
âYour house is huge and beautiful,â he commented.
Q 79%
âThank you. But being in a house this large can sometimes make you feel lonely when youâre here all by yourself. Would you like to accompany me?â Sebastian asked him.
Blaze frowned and pouted his lips as if he didnât understand what Sebastian was talking about. âHow do you mean youâre alone?
You have a lot of people working for you who leave here,â he said innocently.
I canât hold my chuckle. Sometimes, I forget how clever Blaze is for someone his age. He possesses knowledge and understanding that sometimes surprise me.
Sebastian glared at me when he saw me laughing. âBut they are not my family,â he responded, trying to salvage the argument.
Blaze pouted even more, âBut weâre not your family either.â Heâs more confused than he was before.
âBlaire, a little help here?â he said, asking for a rescue.
âFriends are family, right, honey?â I uttered.
âOh, yes! Youâre right, mommy!â Blaze chimed in, his agreement accompanied by a wide, infectious smile. âOkay, mister. Weâll stay with you for as long as my mommy wants to be here,â he added, his enthusiasm evident in his voice and expression.
It appears that my only choice at the moment is to comply with Sebastianâs plans. I must devise a plan swiftly, or else weâll both fall into Sebastianâs trap.
