Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 71 BLAIRE I was relieved when the doctor finally announced that Blaze was out of danger. Though he may still need to stay for a couple more days in the hospital, he confirmed that the operation was successful. I feel like a heavy weight was lifted from my chest. Iâm glad that Blaze was finally out of danger.
Itâs been three days since my last encounter with Sebastian. I havenât heard anything from him since he left the hospital. Iâm not really sure whether thatâs a good thing or not. I have a feeling that heâs planning something. Thatâs why Iâm trying my best to get Blaze out of the hospital. We need to leave as soon as possible. I donât trust Sebastian at all. His silence could also be a warning, like a calm before the storm.
âI need to fix some documents for Blazeâs discharge. Iâm also going back to the hotel to pack my things so Blaze and I can leave as soon as possible once I settle the bill. Donât let anyone get inside the room without my permission, Sylvia. If something happens, call me immediately or call the police.â
âUnderstood, Blaire. Is everything alright? I understand itâs not my business, but I canât help but feel concerned about you and Blaze. Over the time Iâve been working with Iâve grown quite fond of both of you.â
you, âThank you for your concern, but you have nothing to worry about. Weâre fine,â I answered.
âThe man from the other day, was he...?â She didnât manage to finish what she was about to say when her eyes landed on Blaze, who was busy playing with his toys.
I blew a loud sigh before nodding gently as confirmation.
âOh, you poor child. I hope you sort everything out,â she said.
âI will, as soon as we get out of here.â
âYouâre leaving?â She frowned.
âI canât stay here, Sylvia. I donât trust Sebastian. He might take Blaze away from me.â
âHe canât do that, Blaire. Youâre his mother. Iâm sure the law is on your side,â Sylvia convinces me.
âYou have no idea how powerful my ex-husband is. He has the power, connection, and money to turn the tables. If I fight him head-to-head, I have no chance of winning. Running away from him is my best chance to keep Blaze safe.â

âI know Iâm in no position to give my opinion, but I wanted to ask: are you sure that it was the best for Blaze? I mean, someday, he might need his father,â she said.
Iâm well aware of that. Thatâs why Iâm trying my best to be enough for Blaze so he wonât feel the need to know who his father is.
âIâm doing the best I can to provide him with everything. We donât need him,â I firmly replied.
I trust that you know whatâs best for both of you. I wish you good luck and happiness, Blaire,â she said before giving me a tight hug.
Thank you, Sylvia. I wish I could bring you with us,â I said.
âJust give me a call whenever you need me. Iâll come by if I can,â she replied.
Iâm touched by the genuine kindness that she showed us from the beginning. Iâm glad I found a person as good as Sylvia.
âIâll go ahead. Iâll be back as soon as I can.â
Take care, Blaire.â
I turned to Blaze, who was lying down on the bed playing with his toys. âHey, sweetheart. Good news! That doctor says youâre free to go.â
âReally, mommy? Yey! Iâm so excited!â he responded in glee. âI canât wait to go back to our house. I miss my friends,â he added.
âYouâll see them soon, honey.â I lied. Iâm not sure going back to Hawaii is the best option right now. He already found me there once, and Iâm sure thatâs the first place that he would look for us the moment we disappeared. âBut right now, I need to settle things in the hospital, and then Iâll be picking up my things from the hospital. As soon as weâre settled, weâre flying back home.â
Take care, mommy. Iâll be good this time. I wonât get out of my room without permission,â he promised.
âYouâre such a good boy, sweetheart. You listen to Sylvia, okay? Iâll be right back as soon as I can,â I said before planting a soft kiss on his forehead.
I offered Sylvia a gentle pat on the shoulder before grabbing my bag and proceeding to handle the necessary tasks to expedite our departure from this place. Itâs a relief that Sebastian hasnât made any further moves since he left. I intend to seize this opportunity to break free from him once and for all.
Returning to my hotel, I swiftly gathered my belongings without bothering to check for Sebastianâs men. If he wishes to confront me, he knows where to find me. Thereâs no O 10:12 Fri, 16 Feb G G Chapter 71 need for him to resort to sending his men after me, as he did last time.

With my belongings in hand, I made my way to the reception desk to check out. After completing the necessary procedures in just over an hour, I decided to head back to the hospital. As soon as I stepped out of the hotel, I found a cab already waiting outside the lobby. I hailed the cab and quickly got in, eager to return to Blazeâs side.
As we took our journey to the hospital, I suddenly felt nervous. I donât know why, but I sensed something I couldnât truly explain.
Itâs probably what they called a motherâs intuition.
âSir, can we go a little faster? I need to get to the hospital as soon as possible,â I told the driver.
âIâm sorry, maâam. But I think thereâs an accident along the way, so it might take longer than it should,â the driver explained.
The hospital was quite far from where we were, and with the heavy traffic, it seemed wise to wait until we could move through the congestion.
While waiting to get through the heavy traffic, I dialed Sylviaâs number to check on them. I tried to convince myself that I might be overreacting and that there was no reason to worry. But as seconds passed and Sylvia hadnât answered my call, Iâm slowly starting to panic. Sheâs not the type to leave her phone unattended. I took a deep breath when the call ended without her answering. I tried to calm myself while silently praying that everything was fine back there.
After taking a few deep breaths, I attempted to reach Sylvia once more. Unfortunately, she still hadnât answered the call. At this point, I was certain that something was definitely wrong.
Iâm tapping my feet as I bite my lower lip, trying to come up with a plan to get out of this traffic. Luckily, the queue of cars began to move, including ours. After fifteen minutes, I finally reached the hospital lobby. I immediately handed a few dollars to the driver before I grabbed my belongings and got out of the car.
I went straight ahead to the elevator and pressed the floor where Blazeâs room was located. My heart was thumping loudly as each floor passed. I walked briskly as soon as the elevator door opened. I didnât notice that I had been holding my breath while approaching the door.
My heart sank as my suspicion was confirmed. I was out of words as I found Blazeâs room empty. I turned towards the nurse station to ask whatâs going on.
âWhere the fck is my son?â I felt guilty as I watched the horror on the nurseâs face. I didnât mean to be rude, but my son is missing, and I have no time for pleasantries.

âMiss Foster, please calm down,â she said.
âNo! You donât get to tell me to calm down when my son is missing while under the care of this hospital! So, can somebody please tell where the fck is, my son?â
âMiss Foster, your husband has arrived to handle everything and discharge your son from the hospital.â
My eyes widen in shock. It didnât take much for me to know whoâs behind all of this. I knew Sebastian was planning something, but I never imagined that he would resort to this kind of tactic.
âYou did what?â I was too stunned to speak. I canât believe this is happening right now. Iâm panicking, but at the same time, I was trying to keep my head clear so I could plan my next move. Iâm not entirely surprised that Sebastian managed to get my son out of the hospital without my consent. He has the power, money, and connection to do his bidding. I wouldnât be even surprised if he managed to buy shares in the hospital in order to execute his plan.
Just as I was about to raise my voice at the nurses once more, a man in a black suit approached me.
âMiss Foster,â he uttered in an attempt to catch my attention.
âWhat?â I snapped at him, frowning in annoyance.
âThis is for you,â he said before handing me a phone.
It took me long enough to figure out that the man in front of me was working for Sebastian. I sna tched the phone from his hand and quickly put it in my ear.
âSebastian...â I uttered his name while gritting my teeth, trying to hold my temper. âWhere is my son?â
âHeâs fine,â he replied calmly.
âIâm not asking you how he is. Iâm asking you, Where the fck did you bring my son? I will sue you for kidnapping!â I threatened him.
âYou canât sue me for taking my son,â he replied.
âHeâs not yours!â I shouted.
âI think we have already passed that phase of denial, Blaire. Iâm his father, and he should stay with me. You are free to stay with us if you want,â he said.
âNever,â I firmly replied. âTell me where you are so I can take my son.â

10:12 Fri, 16 Feb u G G Chapter 71 âGo ahead and try,â he said confidently. âBrad will drive you here.â
âI donât need your dog to drive me. I can do it myself. Send me the location,â I said. I didnât mean to be rude, but the stress of the situation is bringing out the worst in me.
He chuckled. âYou should be nice to Brad. Heâs the only one who can bring you to Blaze. I donât think Brad will appreciate you calling him names.â
Sebastian was really testing my patience. I think for a minute, contemplating my options. But it seems like Sebastian has no intention of backing down.
âWhen I get there, Iâm going to take my son, Sebastian.â I didnât wait for his response. I immediately hung up the call and handed it over to Brad. âIâm sorry. I didnât mean to call you a dog.â I quickly apologized. He has nothing to do with the rift between me and Sebastian. It wasnât fair for me to take out my anger on him.
âI understand. No offense taken, Miss Foster. Please follow me,â he said. âLet me take that for you,â he offered before he grabbed my things from my hand. He then led the way to the elevator. Once we got in, he immediately pressed the basement parking button. âKindly wait here, Miss Blaire. Iâm going to get the car.â
While Brad left to get the car, I had some time to assess the situation. Iâm thoroughly thinking about my next move. I canât let Sebastian win without giving him a hell of a fight. I need to think of something.
