Chapter 68
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 68 BLAIRE I felt like a bomb just dropped in front of me when I saw Sebastian standing a few meters away from us. My hand immediately pulled Blaze tightly, trying to protect him. I knew this was about to happen, but I wasnât expecting it to happen this soon.
I gulped as I watched his eyes turn dark while switching his eyes between me and Blaze. I was holding my breath while waiting for him to say something. When he didnât, I quickly took that chance to put Blaze away from the situation.
I kneeled in front of my son until our eyes were on the same level. I cupped his cheeks as I gently caressed them. âBaby, why donât we go back to your room, huh?â
âHmm,â he said as he looked back at Sebastian. After a couple of minutes, he shrugged his shoulders. âOkay, mom,â he said.
I let out a sigh of relief before I grabbed his tiny arm and gently pulled him towards the elevator.
âBlaire.â
I heard Sebastianâs threatening voice behind me. I shut my eyes for a second as I took a deep breath before I turned in his direction. âWeâll talk later,â I said before walking briskly towards the elevator.
As soon as I said that, Sebastian quickly followed behind us. He got in the elevator as we did. I noticed Blaze giving him a confused look. I felt Blaze gently tugging at the hem of my shirt. He also makes his hand gesture as if heâs making me lean over to him. I did what he asked me to do and leaned my ear closer to him.
âThereâs a stranger following us, mom. I think we should call the police,â he whispered.
I pursed my lips, trying to hold my laugh upon hearing what Blaze said. He even looked at Sebastian and squinted his eyes towards him, as if heâs letting Sebastian know that he knows what heâs doing.
âItâs fine, baby. Let mommy handle it,â I replied before gently tousling his hair.
The elevator pings as soon as we reach our floor. We immediately got off and walked straight to Blazeâs room. I can still feel Sebastian following us. So when we reached the door of Blazeâs room, I let him in first before turning toward my back. Sebastian wasnât expecting that, so he was surprised and was kind of startled when I stopped him from entering the room.
âYou stay here. Iâll talk to you later,â I said.
He was about to open his mouth to respond, but before he could even say anything, I quickly shut the door. As soon as we entered the room, my phone rang. I answered it when I saw Sylviaâs name flashing on the screen.
âDid you find him?â she asked as soon as I answered the call.
âYes, weâre already back in his room.â
âThank God! Iâll be right there in a minute,â she said before hanging up the phone.
I put my phone back into my pocket before I turned towards Blaze, who was now lying on his bed. âDonât do that again, okay?
What if something bad happened to you? You just got out of surgery,â I told him as I fixed his blanket, âIâm sorry, Mommy. I was so excited to see you when I heard Sylvia say that youâd be coming back. I missed you so much,â he explained while pouting his lips.
âI understand, honey. But what you did was dangerous. Something wrong could have happened to you while youâre out. Next time, no matter what happens, please wait for me to come to you,â I reminded him.

Chapter 68 âYes, mommy. Iâm sorry I let out a loud sigh before planting a soft kiss on his forehead. âGo and take a rest now.â
Just in time after I finished tucking Blaze on the bed, Sylvia came inside the room. âAhmmm... Thereâs a gorgeous man right outside our room. Are you aware of that, Blaire?â she immediately informed me as soon as she stepped in.
âYes, Iâm well aware of that,â I answered.
I havenât even given her any information, yet by the widening of her eyes, I can already guess that she has already formulated some answer in her head.
âIs he...â she quickly halted her words when her eyes landed on Blaze, who was silently watching her.
Iâm glad that she didnât pursue what sheâs about to say next.
I just smiled at her without confirming anything. âCan you look after Blaze for me?â I asked her. Before I went out, I whispered something to her. âAnd please make sure that Blaze isnât going to come out of this room until Iâm back.â
âI got it, Blaire,â she assured me.
I gave her an awkward smile before taking a deep breath. I lost count of how many times I did that just to calm myself down. But no matter how many times I do it, I still donât feel like Iâm ready to face him. But regardless of whether Iâm ready or not, thereâs no way I can avoid this anymore.
Despite feeling unprepared, I mustered the courage to slowly open the door and step outside the room. To my surprise, Sebastian was there, leaning against the wall opposite the door, his presence both unexpected and unsettling.
He was just glaring at me while both of his hands were inside his pockets.
âIs he mine?â
Itâs the first thing that comes out of his mouth. I fought the urge to wring his neck at that moment. How dare he ask me that when I have never had other men in my life than him? The nerve of this guy.
I was so pissed that I didnât think thoroughly about my answer. âNo, he isnât yours,â I said without breaking eye contact. I wanted to applaud myself for lying without stuttering.
âReally, Blaire?â he said, clenching his jaw. âSo, you wouldnât mind if I swab his mouth for a second, then do a little DNA testing to make sure, right?â he added sarcastically.
âDonât you dare, Sebastian,â I warned him.
âYour response was enough for me to confirm that heâs mine. Are you aware that youâre pregnant before you sign our divorce paper?â Anger was evident on his face.
âWell, you didnât bother asking while you-handed me the paper. So I figure, why bother telling you?â
âThatâs selfish, Blaire!â
âDonât you dare talk to me about selfishness, Sebastian. Youâre the one who chooses your first love over your wife. Pardon me if I donât see you fit to be a father. I would never put my son in a position where he needs to beg for his position in life. Youâve made your choices, Sebastian, and so have I. And I chose to protect my son.â I thought Iâd forgotten about the pain that he had caused me.
But yet, blurting it out loud brings all the pain, as if it just happened yesterday.
âHeâs not just your son, Blaire! Heâs half mine. You canât just decide for him. He deserves to know who his father was! You didnât even tell him he was in a hospital? How dare you, Blaire?! Youâd rather choose to give yourself to me than ask for my money and tell me that my son is sick.â
