Chapter 6
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 6 BLAIRE I went upstairs to find my room. I have no plans on sharing the same room with Sebastian. Thereâs no point in doing that since we already got. divorced. Despite his claims that weâre still husband and wife, I have already forgotten that I once used to be his wife.
But the little voice inside my head couldnât help but be sarcastic. âDo you? Have you really forgotten everything about him?â
I hate it when even my subconscious is more honest than myself. No. matter how hard I tried to deny it, he still has an effect on me, just like he used to before.
âCandice, can you please clean the guest room for me? Iâll be using that while Iâm here,â I said to one of the maids.
âMadam Foster?â she replied with obvious confusion.
âAnd also, please refrain from calling me Madam Foster from now on. Call me Miss Banks, or better yet, just call me Blaire,â I ordered her.
âM-Madam? âI donât think I can do that,â she said with hesitation.
âFine. Call me whatever you like. Just donât call me with that h orendous name again,â I said before heading towards the guestroom as I pulled my luggage.
Candice then quickly followed me. She has no choice but to clean the guest room since Iâm already there. Maybe she finally figures out that I have no plan to share the room with my ex-husband.
I tried to help them out as they were trying to clean up the room. They tried to talk me out of it, but I insisted. They were probably wondering what had gotten into me. I must admit, one year ago, I didnât know anything about doing things around the house. I was used to having people do everything for me. But since I left, I have learned how to take care of myself without relying on anyone.

Chapter 6 It was already late in the afternoon when we finally finished fixing the room. I wasnât planning on putting my clothes inside the drawer since I have no plan of staying here for long. But I forgot to tell them not to touch. it, and theyâd already put it out of my luggage before I even noticed. I was too tired to put it all back, so I decided to let it be for the time being.
âMadam... I-Iâm sorry. Iâm not really comfortable addressing your informally,â Candice apologized. She had a tray of bread and juice on her hand when she went back to my room.
âItâs fine, Candice. You can always call me Blaire,â I replied.
âI think that sounds better given the fact that I might be in trouble if Mr. Foster hears me calling you Miss Banks and not Mrs.
Foster,â she said, followed by a chuckle.
âWhatâs wrong with that? Iâm no longer Mrs. Foster since our divorce, so I donât think youâre doing anything wrong,â I insisted.
âIâd rather not try my luck with that, Miss Blaire. You know how ruthless. Mr. Foster can be,â she insisted.
âWell, Iâd rather not talk about him. How have you been, by the way?â I asked, trying to change the topic.
Candice has been a good friend of mine since I moved here to theterâs mansion. She helped me get through the times that Iâve been stru a new wife to Sebastian Foster. We became close friends as I tried t familiarize myself with my new environment.
âIf youâll ask me, everything has changed since you left, Miss Blaire. T whole house has become awfully quiet. And it was barely a house since one is staying here other than us,â she started.
âWhat do you mean?â I asked curiously. I couldnât help but be intrigued.
âMister Foster was barely staying at home. Heâs always in his office, working. If I didnât know it better, I would assume that he doesnât like staying at his own house,â she answered.
âOr maybe heâs staying with his mistress all this time. Iâm not here as 975 Chapter 6 anymore; he should have just brought her here,â I uttered in annoyance.
âMistress? Is that the reason why you filed for divorce?â she asked curiously. âOh! Iâm sorry! Me and my big mouth! I shouldnât have asked that. Iâm really sorry, Miss Blaire,â she quickly apologized.
I just gave her a sweet smile in response.
âI donât know what happened between the two of you, and I have no right. to know the details. But if thereâs something that I can assure. I can definitely attest to it: he was staying at his office, drowning himself at work. Clifford told me everything. Heâs with Mister Foster all the time,â she said.
âIâm sure itâs not all the time, Candice, I told her. I was not sure if it was her or myself that I was trying to convince.
âThatâs one thing Iâm sure about, Miss Blaire. If Clifford and I werenât in a relationship. Iâd get suspicious about how close those two are. They are beside each other all the time,â she replied.
âReally? You and Clifford?â I was surprised to know that those two were in a relationship.
âYeah, it just happened,â she said, shrugging her shoulders with a timid smile. âBut enough of us,â she quickly dismissed. âAs I was saying, the house has never been the same since you left, and neither has Mister Foster. He certainly misses you, Miss Blaire.â
11 I was out of words. I donât know exactly what to say after hearing that. of me wanted to believe everything Candice said. But a larger part of n still has doubts about it. Especially when I saw it with my own eyes.
Just when I was starting to doubt my decision, Sebastian arrived at home. with some news. I went down not to greet him but to talk to him about ou arrangement while I stayed at his house. But I wasnât expecting to see my stepmother and my stepsister with him waiting for me in the living room.
I raised my eyebrow when my eyes landed on the trail of luggage coming inside the house. âWhatâs going on?â I canât help but ask.
âOh, dear! Thank you, Go d; youâre here! We were so scared!â my Clugter d stepmother Elena said before grabbing me into a tight embrace.
My face remains straight. Though Iâm still confused about whatâs happening. I canât help but feel suspicious that I wonât like where this is going.
âWhat are you doing here, Elena?â I asked coldly.
âThatâs not how youâre supposed to talk to your mother, dear, she replied.
I tried to stop myself from vomiting. She has done nothing to call herself my mother. The evil stepmother is more suitable for her.
I was about to speak once again when Sebastian butted in. âA group of ment attacked your house, Blaire. We suspected that it had something to do with your fatherâs debt. I assume that it wouldnât be safe for anyone to stay in your house in the meantime,â
he explained.
âIâm sorry if we become a nuisance to you, Sebastian. We have no one to turn to. All of our friends turn their backs on us,â Stacy said. âIâm sure Blaire wouldnât mind if we crashed in, right?â she said as she shifted her eyes towards me.
I suddenly had an urge to rip off that smile from her face. I canât help but wonder whether the attack was all real or whether she planned it all along so she could have a reason to stay at Sebastianâs house.
âOf course, I wouldnât mind. This isnât my house to decide. Since Sebastian brought you all here, it seems like it has all been decided,â I replied with the most fake smile I could give. âEnjoy your stay.â I added before turning my back on them. I canât stand being in the same space with the three of them. I feel like I am suffocating.
What happens here only fuels my desire to leave this place as soon as possible.
