Chapter 34
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 34 BLAIRE I was walking back and forth while twiddling my thumb inside our room. I was hoping that Sebastian would come here so we could finally sort things out. We need to have that talk as soon as possible, or Iâm going to start losing my mind. After a few minutes of waiting, I was startled upon hearing a soft knock on the door. I slumped my shoulder in disappointment because itâs clearly obvious that it wasnât Sebastian who was on the other side of the door. He wouldnât be knocking if it was him.
I took a loud breath before walking towards the door. When I opened it, I found Celia standing outside my room.
âHi, Miss Blaire,â she greeted me with a soft smile.
âHi, Celia,â I responded.
âThereâs an invitation for you, Miss Blaire. It arrived the other day, but I didnât get at chance to give it to you,â Celia explained.
âItâs fine. Thank you,â I said as I reached for the card.
âAre you going?â she asked when I was about to close the door.
I met Celiaâs gaze; her revelation about the gala invitation caught me off guard. âI didnât mean to pry, but I notice that it was an invitation for tonightâs gala. You and Mr. Foster were invited,â she mentioned, her eyes filled with a curious blend of concern and curiosity.
A puzzled look settled on my face as I processed her words. âWell, you know how it is. These invitations can be a bit last-
minute,â I responded, mustering a smile that I hoped would divert her attention. Attempting to deflect further scrutiny, I added, âIâm a little under the weather lately. So, Iâm not sure if I should go.â The lie slipped from my lips with practiced case.
Celiaâs gaze shifted, assessing my appearance with a discerning eye. âNow that you mention it, you kind of look a little pale. And it seems like youâve lost a lot of weight these past few weeks, she observed, her concern genuine.
âItâs nothing, Celia. Iâm fine, I reassured her, downplaying the severity of my condition even though the truth lingered in my wearied eyes. âBesides, I donât think I have anything to wear since I got this invitation late,â I added, grasping at excuses to shield the real reasons that kept me from attending.
Celiaâs expression softened with understanding, and she offered a sympathetic apology. âIâm sorry,â she said, though the responsibility for my predicament wasnât hers to bear.â
16 Chapter 34 you But it didnât take long before her face lit up like a light bulb. âI know a place where. can get a nice gown. Mr. Foster gets his suit from that place. Letâs go!â she said, pulling my arm excitedly.
I wasnât planning to go to that gala, but Celia insisted on bringing me to that boutique. So, I decided to go along with her for now.
Iâll think about whether I should go or not later.
When we get to the garage, I notice that Sebastianâs car is not there, so I figure he already went to work without letting me know.
I feel my heart tighten as I think about Sebastian. It seems like he totally forgot about us the moment he found out the truth about why Catherine left on the night of their engagement. I already feel like it wonât be that long before he decides to end our relationship. I tried to shake it off my head and not let it bother me. I will try my best not to assume anything until I get a chance to talk to Sebastian.
We head towards the car. Celia takes the shotgun seg while I take the driver seat.
Sebastian usually insists that I ask anyone in the house to drive me around whenever I need to do something outside, and heâs not there to drive me. But today. I wanted to drive by myself.
Celia looks more excited to go to that boutique than me. She excitedly tells me how beautiful the dresses are in that botique.
Somehow, her excitement radiates through me. I canât remember when was the last time Iâd been to a party, and I canât help but feel excited as well.
I parked the car right outside the botique. After that, Celia and I quickly went inside the boutique. We are immediately welcomed by the staff of the boutique. They asked us all sorts of questions that I had no idea about. We hadnât been long inside the boutique when someone caught our attention.
âCelia! Youâre here?â
âHi, Roman! Iâm surprised to see you here.âCelia greeted him with a peck on the cheek.
âYou know Iâm always here whenever thereâs an important client. But what are you doing here?â he asked with his feminine voice and soft hands waving in the air. âYouâre obviously not here to pick up Mr. Fosterâs suit,â he added.
âWhy would you say that?â Celia asked curiously.
âWell, Mr. Foster is already here to pick up his suit. So, I assume you arenât here for that,â he explained.
I felt a lump in my throat when I heard what Roman said. Heâs here to pick up his suit, so it means heâs planning on going to that party. Yet he didnât even inform me about it. Since he had time to custom-make a suit for tonight, it only means that he had known 3.47%2 Chapter 34 about this for quite some time now.
Celia probably noticed my sudden change of mood, so she tried to salvage the conversation. âYes, I am here to help Mrs. Foster find a gown for tonight. I know itâs late notice, but I trust that you have a beautiful ready-made gown for my madam,â Celia explained.
âM-Mrs. Foster? Youâre Mrs. Foster?â He repeated it as if he couldnât believe what he just heard.
âWhy? Is there any problem with that?â I asked.
He nervously smiled before he answered. âOf course not, Mrs. Foster.â
âWell...â Celia interrupted, following up about the purpose of us coming here.
âYeah, we do have a lot of gowns that will perfectly fit you, Mrs. Foster,â he responded, trying to pick up the mood. âIf you will just follow me...â
â
We immediately follow Roman to where his gowns are. But we were all stunned when we suddenly bumped into someone I wasnât expecting. They were about to come out of the room where the gowns were displayed. It was Sebastian, and on his side was Catherine as she held his arm tightly.
âBlaire.â He uttered my name in surprise. Shock was evident in his eyes. He probably wasnât expecting us to meet under these circumstances.
âAre you here to pick up a gown for tonightâs gala?â Catherine asked smilingly, as if nothing were wrong with our current situation. Iâm not sure whether sheâs ignorant or not for not having a clue that this isnât acceptable.
âYes,â I coldly answered.
âOh, so youâre coming to tonightâs gala? Thatâs so exciting! We can come together,â she added.
My eyes darken, and I clench my fist, trying to stop myself from punching my stepsister in the face. I looked at Sebastian, waiting to see what heâd do with our situation. But he remained silent, which agitates me even more.
âNo, thanks. Iâd prefer to drive myself, I answered. âIf youâll excuse me, I still have a gown to fit,â I said as I walked past them, forcing them to separate.
âCharge whatever she gets into my account,â I heard Sebastian say to Roman.
I turned around to look at him and said, âThereâs no need. Unlike other people, I can pay for my dress. I donât need your money,â
I said, trying to save my face from the humiliation I get from them. After saying that, I didnât bother waiting for his response. I åºçæ47%
Chapter 31 quickly turned around and entered the room.
My legs suddenly felt weak as I finally found myself in the solitude of that room. It didnât take long before Celia followed me inside. She found me leaning on the wall as I clenched my chest.
âAre you okay, Miss Blaire?â she asked as she gently guided me towards the couch. âOh, cr ap! How stup id of me to ask that. Of course, youâre not okay,â she said, condemning herself.
It didnât take long before Roman entered the room as well. He looks apologetic. âIâm so sorry. I have no idea,â he apologized.-
âItâs fine. Itâs not your fault,â I said, assuring him.
âYou know what? I have an idea,â he said, smiling as if heâs planning something wicked.
âWhatever your plan is, as long as it will help Miss Blaire get back to those two, Iâm in,â Celia answered.
I chuckled. âMay I remind you that both of you are on his payroll, not mine?â
âOh, boo-h o o! Weâll make his money worth it by taking care of his wife when he should be the one doing that,â Celia complained. âSo, whatâs your plan, Roman?â Celia asked excitedly.
âI have the perfect revenge dress for this,â Roman said.
âRevenge dress?â I asked innocently.
âRemember the story about a princess who was cheated on by her husband? Then the next day, she went out on the press wearing this se xy, gorgeous black dress. Weâll do that as well. But this will be more daring and seductive. Letâs see what your husband will say if he sees you in this dress,â Roman explained as he slowly went inside another room to pick up the dress that he was talking about.
He retrieves a black serpentine dress from his closet, its sinuous fabric flowing gracefully as he unveils it. The dress, with its sleek and winding design, exudes an air of mystery and allure. The deep, inky hue accentuates its serpentine charm, creating a garment that promises to wrap around the wearer with a subtle yet captivating embrace. As it hangs delicately in his hands, the dress seems to possess a quiet elegance, ready to transform the wearer into a mesmerizing figure of enchantment.
âIsnât that too revealing?â I asked the moment I saw the dress.
âIt is. But isnât that our goal in the first place?â Roman responded.
âItâs so beautiful, Roman! Youâre as talented as expected!â Celia commented, clapping.
09:10 Mon, 22 Jan Chapter 34 âCome on, Miss Blaire. Try it on,â she suggested.
As I stood up, a nervous anticipation coursed through me, and I carefully shed my clothes to slip into the alluring black serpentine dress he had brought out. The smooth, cool fabric embraced my skin as I delicately maneuvered into its sleek contours. The dress seemed to meld seamlessly with my form, hugging every curve with a seductive allure.
The sleek material clung to my b*dy with a sultry grace, tracing the curve of my shoulders, accentuating the gentle swell of my waist, and cascading down to k*ss the floor in a seamless flow.
The neckline, a tasteful plunge that hinted at sensuality without sacrificing sophistication, drew attention to the graceful curve of my neck. The gownâs back, a daring interplay of straps and open design, added a touch of mystery to its allure.
As I moved, the fabric whispered in hushed tones, a symphony of darkness and desire. The gownâs slit was extremely high; with one wrong move, it could expose my most intimate part.
âI donât think I can wear this. The slit is too high,â I commented.
âDonât worry, Miss Blaire. I created this dress with slip-proofing. No one is going to see whatever it is that youâre intending to show,â he responded. âTrust me,â he added.
I took a deep breath as I decided to let everything fall into Romanâs hands. Heâs the designer, so he definitely knows his gowns better. I blew a deep sigh and said, âOkay, Iâll take this. How much?â I asked.
âItâs ten thousand dollars,â Roman answered.
My eyes almost budged out of my eye socket when I heard him say the price of the gown that I was wearing. âThat expensive? I donât think I can afford this,â I said.
âNah! Itâs all good. Didnât you hear your husband say that weâd charge everything into his account? Miss Blaire, this isnât the time to be that strong, independent woman who for herself. Youâre his wife, so youâre entitled to everything he owns. Thatâs the money youâre spending, madam. No need to be ashamed of.â
can pay âBut...
His words echoed in the room: âNo buts. Weâre going to charge him for everything. Even this...â
My eyes widened in surprise as he revealed a dazzling set of diamond earrings and a necklace. The exquisite jewelry sparkled under the lights, and my jaw dropped at the heer opulence before me.

I hesitated, feeling a mix of awe and reluctance. âNo, no, no. Thatâs too much!â I protested.
He dismissed my concerns with a wave of his hand. âItâs fine. Iâm sure your husband wonât say anything about this. If he does, then you are free to bring it back to my boutique,â he assured me.
âAre you sure?â I questioned, still marveling at the luxurious jewels in my hands.
âOf course! Everything for my perfect revenge dress plan,â he exclaimed with excitement. âCelia, please tell my assistant to call my glam team. We have a queen to prepare.â
As the plan unfolded, I couldnât help but feel a surge of anticipation. The glamorous attire and dazzling jewels became part of a grand scheme, a visual representation of reclaiming power and elegance. The excitement in the air signaled not just a transformation in appearance but a symbolic act of empowerment, a bold step into the spotlight with confidence and poise.
