Chapter 12
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband by Mariya Mercedes
Chapter 12 BLAIRE âWhat do you mean weâre not going to our house. Blaire? My father asked. once inside the car. Clifford brought another car for us since the one that we used to drive here was only fit for two passengers.
I figure that itâs better to tell him about it now. I couldnât answer immediately. I was contemplating how to put it lightly so that the news about the attack wouldnât affect his health. I was glad that Sebastian volunteered to answer.
âThereâs some problem with the bank. But it is not something to worry about. Youâll be back in your house in no time. For now, youâll all be staying at our house. Stacy and Catherine were already there.â Sebastian said.
âBut didnât you say you were trying to have a child? Wouldnât our presence be a problem for both of you? I think I still have one property in Miami that I havenât put on the bank. We8 can stay there in the meantime,â he suggested.
âDad, no.â I disagree. âItâs better that you stay with me so I can take care of you.â
âHoney, Stacy will definitely take care of me,â he insisted.
âI doubt that.â I murmured. My father definitely heard that, but he fell deaf. I never liked Stacy, but I respected her because I knew she made my father happy. âPlease, stay with us for a little longer. Just to make sure that youâre okay.â
Dad looked at Sebastian in the rear-view mirror as if confirming if it was really okay for him to stay with us. He then smiled before he answered his unspoken question. âItâs fine, Rafael. You can stay with us. Besides, Blaire and I were rather creative. Weâll find a way. And of course, our room is soundproof, so it wouldnât be a problem.â
My eyes widen in shock upon hearing his last words. I gave him a stern look. My checks were burning from embarrassment. On the other hand, 1/5 Chapter 12 Sebastian doesnât look bothered, but rather, heâs clearly enjoying my discomfort. Iâm glad that he was sitting in front while Clifford was the one driving for us and my father took the back seat.
It didnât take long before we finally reached Sebastianâs house. Sebastian probably told them that my father would be discharged today, so we found both of them waiting outside the mansion for us. Stacy was smiling sweetly, as was Catherine. But the latterâs eyes were more focused on my husband than my father. I couldnât help but roll my eyes upon seeing them. Am I the only one who sees how fake they are?
âHoney, Iâm happy youâre finally home!â Stacy greeted my father as she quickly attended to him.
âThis isnât your home, Stacy.â I brushed her off.
ea She gave me a nasty glare but didnât say anything. I responded by rolling my eyes at her. Iâm not here to please any of them, so why would I bother pretending to be nice?
As weâre about to get inside the house, I feel a strong arm pulling at my waist. I looked to my side and found Sebastian with a playful smile on his face. He then slolfully lowered his head and put his mouth near my ear.
âI saw you roll your eyes,â he whispered.
I glare at him. âYou warned me not to roll my eyes at you. That doesnât mean I canât d it with others,â I reasoned out.
He smirked. âYou do know how to make your way around things, donât you? Youâre smart.â He looks so proud.
I raised my eyebrows and said, âI have always been smart. I just pretended. not to know things so I wouldnât hurt your ego.â
He doesnât seem hurt about what I said, but instead, he burst into a huge laugh. His laughter seized their collective attention, and they all turned. toward us with perplexed gazes. I saw how Catherine glared at us. I didnât pay much attention to her because her opinion didnât matter to me. She can curse me all she wants, for all I care.
Chapter 12 âI prepared something for you, honey Stacy told my father.
âHow? You donât even know how to fry an egg,â I asked sarcastically.
I heard my fatherâs loud and sharp breath. âThatâs enough, Blaire. Can we all just get along?â he asked.
I bit my lower lip to stop myself from defying what my father wanted. He needed rest, and the last thing I want to give him is stress.
âIâll try my best, dad.â
âThank you, sweetheart,â he responded. âI donât feel like eating for now. Would it be okay if I took some rest for a while?â
âOf course, dad. Iâll walk you to your room,â I suggested.
âNo need, sweetheart. Stacy can do that for me. Why donât you take care of your husband? Iâm sure he was tired as well. He has been taking care of everything since I got admitted to the hospital,â he said, turning his eyes towards Sebastian.
I looked at him, and somehow I felt guilty for all the things Iâd done to him these past few days. But before I dwelled on pity, I reminded myself betrayed our vows. All of these are nothing compared to the pain that Iâve been through because of that. Weâre not even close to getting even. He will need more than just paying my fatherâs hospital bill to make up for what happened.
that he did worse than I did. He cheated on me. He reminded myself âDonât worry, Rafael. Blaire always takes care of me,â Sebastian answered on my behalf before putting his arm around my shoulder. But what surprised me was when he k*ssed me in front of everyb*dy without a warning.
I was so stunned to speak that I found myself getting along with his charades. Stacy and Catherine look so surprised. I canât blame them. Even I was surprised by what Sebastian did.
âIâm happy to see that everything is working out between the two of you,â he commented.
Chapter 12 I put on a fake simile as I wait for them to leave, Once theyâre gone, I immediately remove his hand from my shoulder. He just chuckled in response.
âI need to go. I have a few meetings to attend. Iâll see you later,â he said. But before he left, he planted another brief k*ss on my lips.
I hissed at him because I knew heâd done that on purpose. The only audience that we needed to put on a show with is not here.
So, I know he doesnât have to k*ss me, but he did.
It almost slipped my mind that Catherine was still there. She instantly greeted me with her fiery eyes once Sebastian was gone. It was as if she completely transformed from this sweet little angel into this evil, coniving b itch.
âYou will not take Sebastian away from me, Blaire. Iâll make sure of that,â she warned me.
âMy dear stepsister, I have no plans on taking him away from you. You can have him all for yourself. You just have to put him on leash because, as you can see, heâs the one who keeps on following me,â I responded.
She smirked and said, âSebastian is definitely plotting something. Heâs probably going to use you and then ditch you once he gets what he needs. Then he will come back to me just like he always did.â She sounds so confident.
I maintain a straight face. Though what she said clearly put doubts in my head, I didnât let her notice. âYouâre probably right. Shall I enjoy and cease this moment with him? It isnât fair if heâs the only one enjoying this game, is it?â Her face was a Kodak moment. She wasnât expecting that I wouldnât fold just like I used to. And thatâs the reason why I pushed her further. âThank you for the heads-up. Iâll be enjoying his company in my bed later tonight.â
âGet your filthy hands off my Sebastian!â she yelled at me before launching an attack. Sheâs about to slap me in the face, but I was quick to catch it mid-air.
âIt probably slipped your dense head, but let me remind you, Catherine..
4/5 00:10 Sun, Jan 21 Chapter 12 Youâre inside my house. Try hitting me again, and youâll find yourself homeless, begging on the street. Thatâs not a warning, but a promise,â I threatened her, quoting what Sebastian used to tell me.
She definitely gets the idea because her expression changes. She looks like a drowned rat. I let go of her and turned my back on her. I decided to leave the house and get some fresh air. I donât think Iâd be able to stand staying in that house with those leeches.
