A middle-aged man stood at the end of the hallway. His voice was trembling as he pleaded. “CEO Bai, I’m Lu Youtian, the director of this hospital. I wish to discuss Long Yifan’s situation with you...”

Lu Youtian’s complexion was pale and his back was covered in cold sweat.

He had not known that Long Yifan was Bai Qinghao’s future father-in-law. After all, it was the Fang family that had a marriage alliance with the Bai family.

Logically speaking, wasn’t the commander’s future father-in-law supposed to have the surname ‘Fang’?

Who would have thought that the Fang family’s lady took her mother’s name, and that her father had married into her mother’s family.

“Drag him here.” Bai Qinghao commanded coldly.

A bodyguard immediately caught Lu Youtian’s arms and held them behind his back. He dragged him towards Bai Qinghao.

“CEO Bai, I really didn’t know that Long Yifan is your father-in-law to-be...” Lu Youtian’s expression was white like a sheet of paper.

He secretly peeked at Bai Qinghao’s frigid expression. He could not tell if the man was angry.

His gaze shifted to the other person present there. He was dumbstruck to see that CEO Bai, who was rumoured to avoid all women, was holding a fat and ugly woman in his arms!

Wasn’t CEO Bai’s fiancée, Fang Manxue, supposed to be drop dead gorgeous?

Why was this woman so ugly?

The question threw him off but this was none of his business.

His priority was to focus on protecting the hospital and holding onto his small life. “If I had known that you were related to Long Yifan, even if I was threatened with death, I would never have dared to...”

“Shut up!” Bai Qinghao’s gaze pierced through him like laser beams. He calmly threatened him. “If Long Yifan survives and recovers, your little life will temporarily be safe. But if he dies, both you and the treating doctor will have to pay with your lives!”

Lu Youtian nearly wet his pants from fear. His complexion was pale and he did not dare to speak up again.

Everyone knew that Bai Qinghao always kept his word. If there was someone he wanted dead, there was no way for that person to live!

After some time, the lit sign outside the operating theatre darkened. Several doctors and nurses came out of the room. When they noticed the fiercely guarded hallway, they were all dumbstruck.

The next moment, they were flabbergasted at the sight of Bai Qinghao. They had only ever seen him in the newspapers till now. To think that such a big figure would appear here.

Their gaze immediately turned respectful.

Lu Youtian rushed to ask the doctor. “Zhang Jingting, how is Long Yifan’s situation?”

The operating doctor, Zhang Jingting, noticed the hospital director’s flustered state and became nervous. “There were no problems with the surgery. After some rest and good care, he will be fine. However, he is still in a coma. That state remains unchanged.”

Lu Youtian heaved a sigh of relief. “Thank god you managed to keep his life.”

Zhang Jingting was confused by his anxiety. “Director?”

“If something had happened to Long Yifan, we would all have to be buried with him!”

When the doctors and nurses heard these words, their complexion turned waxen. They began quivering.

The nurses were wheeling a hospital stretcher out. Fang Xinxin rushed forward and saw that Long Yifan was unconscious. She cried out. “Dad...”

Long Yifan, who was in ‘deep sleep’ remained unresponsive.

For the first time, Fang Xinxin felt that it was a blessing for her father to be unconscious. At the very least, he would not have to suffer from the pain of the surgery.

“Arrange for Long Yifan to be transferred to a hospital under the Sheng Shi Group.” Bai Qinghao commanded expressionlessly. “As for this hospital... their staff neglected to provide their patient with proper medical treatment. There’s no need for it to exist any longer!”
