Interview with the Alpha

The Millennium Wolves: His Haze

Sienna slowly pulled my sweatpants down, easing my manhood out of its restraints.

My cock was so hard it was almost embarrassing. And when Sienna looked at it, almost fascinated, trailing her fingers along its rigid, expansive length, I couldn’t take it.

“Shit, Sienna,” I bit out, realizing that this must be the first time she’d done it. “Have you ever…?”

“No,” she said softly, confirming my thoughts. She breathed warm air onto me, then stuck her tongue out and took a long taste.

My breath left me. Everything was hazy. I prompted her to take the tip in, to suck it, and she obliged, hesitant at first, then taking as much as she could into her mouth.

I groaned, grabbing a fistful of her hair as she sucked and twisted her hand around my base, making me shudder, making me want to shove myself deeper into her.

I wanted to fuck her mouth, claim it with everything in me.

For an amateur, Sienna was learning fast. She took my length even deeper into her throat, suppressing the urge to choke on it.

After a few moments, she found the right rhythm, and my cock slid smoothly in and out of her slick throat.

~Holy fuck.~

A few minutes later, I was ready to burst. I tried to warn her, tried to lift her off, but the stubborn woman kept her lips tight around my cock. She resisted my warnings, going even harder, faster.

~Oh God, I’m gonna—~

I couldn’t stop it; I shot right into her throat, and she swallowed it all, tasting me on her tongue as I pulled out.

I’d just had one of the best orgasms I’d ever experienced, my whole body pumping with adrenaline, my cock twitching with satisfaction.

I pulled her up, tucking a lock of her beautiful hair behind her ear.

“You’re spectacular,” I informed her. I needed her to know that the gift that she’d just given me—and it was a gift—meant more than any words could convey.

And she seemed to understand, her eyes growing soft and content.

I ran my thumb across her glossy lips, the lips that had just performed a fucking miracle.

~How did I get so lucky?~

Sienna had just blown my mind. There was no other way to phrase it. Sure, I’d known she was hot as hell. That was never the question.

But knowing how inexperienced she was, how innocent she appeared to be, I hadn’t been expecting ~that~. Not even the girls who’d been around the block a thousand times had given me something like that.

She was in the guest room, getting ready now.

I could hear her moving around in there and was imagining her getting dressed. The way her body looked completely uncovered, the way she looked as she was pulling a pair of panties up…

~Stop,~ I ordered myself. It was like I couldn’t control myself at all when we were in the same house. ~Must be the Haze.~

I pulled on a sweater and then headed into the hallway, knocking once on the door Sienna was behind. “Sienna? Ready?”

Not even a second later the door was opening, and there she was in a sleek black blouse and jeans, her red hair tumbling down over her shoulders.

Her curves…the way the fabric clung to her in all the right places…it was too much. I growled, pulling her to me.

“Let’s not go,” I said. “Let’s stay here and…” I trailed off, my suggestion lingering between our heavy breathing.

“Okay, Mr. Alpha.” She rolled her eyes. “Like you could miss the fair.”

She was right. I couldn’t.

“If it were up to me, we’d stay here all day. Fuck the photo op,” I said, kissing her.

“Fuck the photo op,” she said back, looking me in the eye.

But we couldn’t because I was the alpha and the fair was the pre–Yule Ball event that got the whole community together.

And what was a community without its leader?

Bringing Sienna with me to such a public event would certainly get people talking, especially given all the press that would be there.

But for the first time, I was actually confident in my relationship, and this felt like the right move.

~Let them fucking talk. ~

When we neared the fairgrounds, I felt Sienna growing tense. I understood why; coming into the fair, hand-in-hand with the alpha, was bound to be stressful.

She would be under a lot of scrutiny from the pack. Everyone would be curious who had captured the attention of the alpha.

I held her hand in mine, giving it an encouraging squeeze.

“You ready?” I asked, peering down at her.

She nodded, her face tight with determination. I knew I didn’t need to worry about her. Sienna would never back down from a challenge.

~I’m living proof of that.~

I took her past the food stalls and the game booths, through the crowded pathways, and led her straight to a grand table situated underneath a canopy tent.

The table housed my inner circle, the people I counted on the most, Josh and Jocelyn among them.

“Finally,” Josh said as we walked in. “I wonder what took ’em so long.” He winked at Jocelyn.

I could feel Sienna tensing again and shot my beta a dirty look.

“Watch yourself,” I ordered, putting an arm around my mate’s shoulders protectively. I was extremely pleased when she inched closer to me.

“Monica from the ~Pack News~ was looking for you,” Josh said, his tone more formal after my warning. “She wants a quote.”

I nodded and grabbed a couple of hot cocoa cups from the bar, handing one to Sienna. “Hope you don’t mind I’m yanking you with me on business,” I said, a low growl slipping into my tone.

I actually liked this. I liked showing her off. She was my mate, and I couldn’t wait for the world to know.

~When the time is right.~

She looked at me, and something about her gaze was almost Haze-like, drawing me in, tempting me.

I just had to give in, to kiss her so that everyone would know who she belonged to. I didn’t care who saw.

But as soon as our lips touched, a camera flash pulled us apart.

“Hey, Alpha, over here!”

The interruption came from a short woman with curly hair who was waving so hard I thought her hand would fly off.

I knew who she was. Monica from the ~Pack News~. I knew her ~too~ well.

She had made a spectacle about my breakup with Jocelyn and seemed intent on scandalizing every aspect of my life.

“Monica,” I greeted her with what I hoped sounded like politeness before extending my hand for a shake. Really, I was suppressing a snarl.

She clutched my hand all-too excitedly, and her face flushed. “Tell me, tell me,” she said, her eyes darting between Sienna and me. “Is this ~serious~?”

I hated reporters who wanted to stick their noses into my private life. “I thought you wanted a quote about the fair?”

She waved me off. “Fairs sell cocoa. Sex sells papers,” she said, winking and laughing at her own comment.

Since I saw no way out of it, I glanced at Sienna, letting her know with my eyes what I was about to do.

I’d simultaneously get Monica off my back and show Sienna my commitment.

I took off my jacket and pulled the collar of my sweater down, letting Monica see the mark Sienna had given me.

Monica gasped, and I felt Sienna turning to stone—either from embarrassment or shock—I couldn’t tell. But I thought I saw the faintest sign of a smirk on her lips.

“So it’s a done deal?” Monica asked, her eyes glimmering as if I’d just given her the juiciest story of her career.

“Nothing’s ever done in this world,” I said, ever so politically correct. My grandfather would’ve been proud.

“So there may be room for another lady?” she prodded.

I pulled Sienna closer to me, wrapping my arms around her from behind. “Right now, this is all the lady I need.”

The glimmer in her eyes disappeared, and she snarled. Apparently, she did ~not~ like that answer.

Deciding enough was enough, I took Sienna’s hand and started putting distance between Monica and us, calling back over my shoulder, “I’ll find you later for that quote!”

When we had gotten away from the crowd, I turned to Sienna. “Sorry about that. You did great.”

I really was so impressed with how she had kept her cool around Monica. She was completely poised and confident, never once showing her discomfort.

“I did?” she said, arching an eyebrow. “I didn’t say a word.”

“Exactly.” I grinned softly. “Handled yourself like a pro. How about I make it up to you?”

“And how do you plan on doing that?” she inquired.

I looked around, searching for something we could do, just the two of us, out of the public’s eye. My eyes landed on the Ferris wheel.

When I turned back to Sienna, she was looking at the same thing. “The Ferris wheel is actually my favorite,” she said, blushing a bit. “You can make fun of me for that if you want.”

~Was she nuts~? “Make fun of you for loving the Ferris wheel?”

“I didn’t say I ~loved~ it. Just that I like it the best.”

I smiled at her almost childlike defensiveness and said, “Let’s go.”

I started to pull her toward the ride, but Sienna suddenly jerked away, causing me to turn around.

“Did you see that?” she asked, breathing heavily.

I looked around, confused. “See what?”

“The lady!” she said as if it was obvious.

“What lady?” I asked, scanning Sienna’s face, which went rigid.

“She was right there!” she said, her lips quivering.

“Sienna,” I said, staring at her, “are you all right?”

She looked at the forest behind us and nibbled her lip before nodding. I, too, looked at the trees, trying to sense whatever she thought she saw.

But there was nothing.

Taking her hand again, I pulled her close. “Let’s go, then.”

I was concerned by the sudden erratic behavior.

First, she’d called out the name Emily in her sleep, over and over again.

Now she thought she’d seen strange women near the woods.

Something was going on, something Sienna still wasn’t ready to share.

Was it because I wasn’t being honest with her? Did she somehow sense that, causing her to stay closed off herself?

I looked back at the Ferris wheel, and my heart began to beat wildly. Because I had just come to a decision.

I still wasn’t certain that the time was right, but maybe there was no right time.

We needed to open up to each other, to tell the truth.

~I have to tell Sienna that we’re mates.~
