(50): Frustrated

"Kathrine, I think I'm sexually frustrated" I sigh shoving a spoon of mango yoghurt in my mouth.

She snorts "What? Why?"

We are currently in her dorm room. She asked me to come over because apparently she missed me. She's lying.

Anyways Kyle and I spent the rest of yesterday speaking and speaking and speaking. It was so nice, except the part where I was blushing the whole dang time. He then decided to go to the gym and I went to Winnie's because I didn't want to be alone. She was speaking about Liam half the time and said that she really liked him. They've been keeping contact since the resort. I still don't fully like him but she doesn't have to know that. She says things between her and Nick are still weird. They don't speak as much and it's kind of sad, but they do really need the space away from each other.

Kyle didn't end up sleeping with me because I was too pussy to ask him to. We did spend most of the night on the couch cuddling though, I think we went to bed around 3 am.

I frown "Kyle won't kiss me"

"Why not?" She laughs looking at me curiously.

"Remember how I used to think he was a jerk who didn't have feelings?" I start and she nods "Well he does. More than me"

"How so?"

I take another spoonful "Uhm, he said he doesn't want to kiss me yet because he wants to be only thinking about me when he does. He first wants to solve all of his family problems"

"Awww" She coos love-struck, a huge grin on her face "Chels! He's so sweet to you. It's like you're speaking about someone else"

"I know. But I wanna kiss him!" I frown.

She laughs at me "Hush, horn dog, the guy has a point. You'll both regret it if you have your first kiss while thinking about other things"

She's right.

"I know" I admit "It's just a lot"

"I can imagine. You've never been this gushy over a guy... this desperate too" She teases.

I scoff "I'm not desperate"

"Yeah you are" She argues grinning "Don't worry, it's cute. And I'm happy for you, lady"

"Yeah yeah"

Her eyes suddenly widen in excitement "We're dating best friends and we're best friends! That's so cool, right?"

Oh wow.

"Kyle and I aren't dating" I deadpan.

"But you will" She says matter-of-factly "That's so cute, ahhh! We're all goals"

I pat her shoulder "Calm down"

She doesn't.

"Chels! How cute would it be if Winnie and Nick started dating too? That would be so perfect. We'd all be boo'd up and friends at the same time" She continues excitedly.

"Sorry, Kat, but Winnie likes Liam"

Kat frowns "She sucks. You know, Nick is still troubled by it all. My poor baby"

"Does Nathan know you call him your poor baby?" I snort, a brow raised.

"We're friends" Kat says dryly.

I hum just to annoy her "Sure"

"Whatever, you're annoying me" She scoffs and I just smirk victoriously "Did I tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

She grins "Nathan said the 'l' word"

"He did?" I ask also grinning.

She nods sheepishly "Yes. It was at the new years party, after you and Kyle left"

"How'd he say it?"

"We were saying our resolutions then he just straight up said he wanted to stay together for the whole year and he loves me" She grins.

I coo happily "Kat! What did you say?"

"I said I love him too, duh" She informs "Yeah then we kissed, went back to his dorm and made sweet sweet love"

My smile falters "You just had to ruin it. I did not need to know that"

"Oh come on" She laughs loudly.

"You're annoying"

She laughs again "Anyways... do you think you and Kyle will do it?"

I choke on my spit.

"We haven't even kissed"

"Yeah but like, do you think you'd give it to him?" She asks curiously.

I stay quiet for a while thinking "I don't know Kathrine, I'll cross that bridge when I get there honestly"

I mean I get... thoughts about it; doing it with him. But I don't know if I actually would.

"I think you will" She smirks "No one can resist that guy. Word around campus is that he has a big dick and he's gooood"

Oh god.

"Shut up" I shriek.

She just smirks again "Okay, girl"

"He said he doesn't sleep with virgins anyways" I murmur.

"You'll be the exception, duh" Kat says.

I roll my eyes as I finish my yoghurt and put the empty carton on the desk.

"Anyways, Nathan said you spoke to Noah"

"Oh yeah, I did" She drags remembering "He wanted to have a word with you"

"About what?" I ask.

She hums "I don't know... he seemed on edge about something. It was super weird"

"What'd he say to you?" I press.

"He was asking me about you and Kyle. But I promise I didn't tell him anything"

I roll my eyes "He's so weird"

"I know" Kat agrees "I don't know if you want to hear this but he was all over that Lisa chick. It was gross"

"Gosh" I sigh shaking my head.

"Since when does he hang with people who have something against us? Betty, Mick, Kyle's brother. That's too much"

"I know" I agree thoughtfully.

What games is he playing?

"It's just so weird" Kat says "I guess the only

time I can have a proper conversation with him is during summer when we're both home and away from this place"

I hum agreeing "I'm so not excited about classes starting though. We just have tomorrow then it's back to it"

"I know" She groans.

"We had a good break though, right?" I grin reminiscing.

She laughs happily "Yeah dude. Our lives were so damn boring before we met those people. It was just you, Noah and I"

"I know" I join in loudly.

She shakes her head laughing too "It's a good thing we got kicked out, huh?"

"Tell me about it" I play along.

"You'll always be my day one though, you know that right?" She grins adoringly at me.

I hug her smiling "Of course I know, bitch. You'll always be mine too. I'm glad I met you, crazy"

"Same" She giggles.

"Good" I say.

She then gives me a look "Can't say you don't have competition. You know me and Nick get along like a house on fire"

"I know" I roll my eyes.

She laughs "I'm just warning. He might be my new best friend soon"

"Girl, I'm irreplaceable" I snort.

"True" She counters teasingly.

So I finally got around to asking my parents to buy a car. Dad was cool with it, he even gave me some advice on what cars to look for. I was on speaker so I ended speaking to the whole family. Josie has a week left so we're all very excited. She said the baby had been kicking so hard and I couldn't help but laugh happily. I really can't wait to see them.

Mom on the other side... our conversation went something like this:

"Hey, mom" I greeted when she finally answered the phone.

"Sweetie. Hi" She said.

"How have you been?"

"Good thanks and yourself?"

"I've been good thanks" I murmured.

I was kind of nervous to bring it up because I knew she would ask too many questions. I wanted to beat around the bush for a while longer.

"So... what's up? I know there's a reason you called" She said.

I bit my lip thoughtfully "Uhm, is it okay if I buy a car?"

"A car?" She asked confused.

"Yes. A car"

She stayed quiet for a while, making me more nervous "Why?"

"Cause I need transportation" I replied.

"What about your friend, Kathrine? Doesn't she drive you around?" She asked.

"Yes but she gets busy"

Mom stayed quiet again "I don't know, Chelsea. I don't think I want my daughter driving herself around"

She too overprotective.

"Mom. I can drive" I informed kind of annoyed "And I'm 19"

"So what?" She challenged.

I groaned "Mom. Please"

"No" She said sternly.

Are you kidding?

"Why not?" I half snapped before fixing my tone "Mom, why can't I get a car?"

"Cause you're a child"

I groaned, this close to just hanging up on her "I'm not. Please just say yes"

"No"

Oh my gosh.

"Can you at least think about it?" I tried.

She stayed quiet "Do you even have money for a car, Chelsea?"

"Yes" I replied.

"The answer is still no" She told me.

"Why did you even ask?" I snapped, very annoyed at this point.

"Don't speak to me like that" She scolded.

I groaned "You know what? I have to go mom. Bye"

"Chels-"

I hung up before she could go on.

And yeah, that's basically how it went. I just don't understand why she has to be so hard about everything. It's just a dang car. I won't even bother her with the expenses, dad said he'd take care of everything. All I needed was for her to say yes. Just a simple yes.

I made that call when I was already at the car place. Kat dropped me off after we left her apartment and was going to look with me but something came up.

Now I'm all alone at 'Audi' with a grumpy face because my mom said no. Well I'm still going to look though, these cars are niiiiice.

"Hey"

I was just look at a white Audi A3 when I'm interrupted by a feminine voice. I look back to see a black-haired girl.

"Hi?" I say unsurely.

She smiles sheepishly "Uh, sorry. I just noticed we look the same age and are both shopping alone. Do you want company?"

Okay...

"Sure" I agree.

She does look my age. She's very pretty. She has long black hair, as I mentioned, soft brown eyes and is about the same height as me. She's wearing jeans and a red jacket.

"My name's Avery" She says.

I smile politely "Hey Avery, I'm Chelsea"

"Chelsea" She nods "So, uh, are you at the college? I think I've seen you around"

"You have?" I ask.

She nods "Yeah, uh, you're friends with Kyle and them?"

Kyle. Of course.

"Yeah I guess" I murmur.

Why is she mentioning him? Maybe she's slept with him or something. Suddenly... I don't like her anymore.

She laughs suddenly "You must think I've slept with him or something"

Did I make it obvious?

"Have you?" I enquire.

"No, of course not. I've never even met him, to he honest. Everyone just knows him. And I know I've seen him with you" She tells me.

I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Are you also there?"

She nods "Yep, second semester"

"Cool. Me too" I tell her "I wonder why I've never seen you"

"The campus is pretty big" She laughs.

I laugh too. She seems nice enough "So, what kind of Audi are you looking for?"

Both our gazes fall on the sexy cars in front of us. She moves around to the Audi that's next to the A3 I was looking at.

"This one" She grins.

It's a silver, convertible and I don't even know the girl but I know it would suit her a lot.

"Nod bad" I counter "I think you would look good in it"

She smiles as she opens the car and enters, pretending to drive. I was right... the car really suits her.

"I'm taking it" She says.

I laugh "Woah, already?"

She shrugs "Yeah, my step-dad said if I found one that I liked then I could take it"

"Lucky you then. Congrats" I say.

"What about you? You've been looking at that one for quite some time" She says, gesturing to the white A3.

I frown "I want it but my moms being hard"

"Oh sorry" She murmurs "Do you want me to wait for you? I can always buy this one at another time"

I laugh surprised "Woah, Avery, we just met. You don't have to do anything for me"

"Oh yeah" She also laughs sheepishly.

"Go on... go talk to the guy who can help you with this" I encourage and she offers me one

more smile before doing that.

She really seems like a nice girl.

I can't even remember the last time I met someone new. I think it was Winnie, right after I met Nick and Kyle. It feels like forever ago.

I think she takes about 20 minutes, as I still look around for other possible options, until she returns with a huge smile and keys in her hands.

"Lookie!" She cheers jiggling the keys.

I smile "Congratulations, lady"

She then offers to drive me home in her new car and I cannot decline the offer. Yes I'm familiar with the phrase 'you should never get in a car with a stranger' but come on, she looks harmless.

I just really can't wait to get my own.

I'm the worst, I know 😭. And this is how I'm making my great return... with a filler. I AM SO SORRYYYY but best believe I'll make it up to you guys.

I don't really want to go in detail about what's been happening but I promise I'm okay, safe and healthy and I won't go ghost for this long EVER again until I finish the book.

I have good news though!!! I've had so much time that I had quite a few (a lot) chapters done and I can't wait for all of you to read them. The plot is thickening honeyyyy. 🤪 I want to update all of them NOW but I don't want to overwhelm you guys. I'm promising at least 4 updates per week. 🥳❤️
