The past few days had been nothing short of a dream for Aashna and Dhruvin.

From their midnight phone calls that stretched until dawn to the way he dropped her home on his bike every evening, their new relationship had slipped into their lives seamlessly. Dhruvin made sure she ate properly, often bringing an extra tiffin just for her, knowing she hardly cared about her meals. “Pani pee le, Aashu,” he would remind her at least five times a day, even sending her texts when they weren’t together.

And in return, she had started accompanying him to his badminton practice, sitting on the sidelines with a book while he trained for his upcoming competition. It had become their routine, and they both secretly loved it.

The next day at college, things took an interesting turn.

Aashna was standing near the library, waiting for Sia, when a senior, Veer, approached her with an easy smile.

“Hey, Aashna,” he leaned against the wall beside her. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you for a while. You have no idea how hard it is to catch you alone.”

She smiled politely. “Oh? What did you want to talk about?”

“Just wanted to tell you that you look beautiful today,” he said smoothly.

Aashna blinked, taken aback by his directness. Before she could respond, she felt a familiar presence behind her.

“Yeah man, she looks beautiful every day. What’s so special about today?"

Dhruvin’s voice was light, but Aashna could sense the edge beneath it. He walked up beside her, casually slipping his hand into his pocket, his gaze steady on Veer.

Veer hesitated for a second before smiling. “I was just telling her what everyone already knows.”

“Oh, you’re that generous with compliments?” Dhruvin raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching in amusement, but his eyes held a challenge.

Aashna watched, biting back a laugh. She knew that look—Dhruvin was playing it cool, but the slight clench of his jaw told her otherwise.

Veer chuckled. “Well, some people deserve them more than others.”

Dhruvin hummed, taking a step closer to Aashna, his arm lightly brushing hers. “Good to know.”

Then he turned to her with an easy grin. “Aashu, let’s go. We’re already late.”

She nodded, suppressing a smirk, and let him lead her away. As they walked, she nudged him lightly. “Possessive much?”

“Me? Possessive?” He scoffed, shaking his head. “I was just enjoying the conversation.”

Before she could retort, Manan, who had been watching the entire thing from a distance, strolled up beside them, barely containing his laughter. "I thought you were dangerous, but now all I see is a love-struck fool."

Dhruvin rolled his eyes. “Shut up, Manan.”

Manan smirked. “Just tell me one thing—when that senior flirted, did it make your head burn with anger or your heart burn with jealousy?"

Aashna laughed while Dhruvin smacked Manan on the arm, making him yelp.

Later in the day, Dhruvin found Aashna alone in an empty classroom, going through her notes. He leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. “Mujhe nahi pata tha tujhe attention itna pasand hai.” (I didn’t know you liked attention so much.)

She glanced up, smirking. “Only yours."

Something flickered in his eyes before he walked in, sitting way too close beside her. “Oh really? Good to know.” His voice was low, teasing, as he reached over and stole a piece of chocolate from her bag, popping it into his mouth.

“Dhruvin!” She glared at him. “That was my last one!”

“Not my problem,” he said smugly, licking the last traces of chocolate off his lips, watching her with a knowing smirk.

She huffed, crossing her arms. “You’re insufferable.”

“And you love it.” He leaned in slightly, his voice just above a whisper.

Her heart stuttered, but she refused to let him win. Smirking, she poked his chest. “Keep stealing my food, and I might start rethinking things.”

He chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Liar.”

Their playful banter continued as the day went on, filled with stolen glances, teasing remarks, and moments that made her blush furiously. Dating Dhruvin Deshmukh was going to be an experience like no other, and Aashna had a feeling she was going to love every second of it.
