Touchdown
Destined For the King
Hey guys, I'm sorry I've been slacking on the stories but its better late than never, right? Haha! I've read all your comments and Inboxes and I apologize it's been like 2 months since the last update but school is almost done for me which means more updates for you!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today is the big day! My famiglia plane should be arriving before noon. I got the chance to talk to Mama before I went to bed last night and she seemed excited to get an all-expenses-paid mini vacation even if it's for a marriage she doesn't approve of. She's most excited to spend time with me. It feels like we've been separated for years and this is the first time in a long time where we can actually go outside and do mother-daughter activities.
I could barely sleep through the night. Despite Dominic's incredibly strong hold on me, I kept tossing and turning through the night. Most of my nerves were happy nerves. I just wanted the chance to spend time with my family without supervision but there was a fear in the back of my mind that my father won't show up. I missed my mother dearly and her flying down is more than I can ask for but I am a daddy's girl. If he really doesn't show up because of the feud or some unknown reason...I don't know if my heart can take it.
Dominic promised me last night that as long as I take my new guards, I will be able to pick up my family without his presence. I needed to ease my family into the idea of me consensually marrying Dominic and the sight of him will delay my process.
I made sure to be out of bed by 7 am. I had to get ready and prepare for the wild day I'm about to have.
"Come to back to bed now!" Dominic shouted from the bedroom. I was in the bathroom attempting to curl my hair.
"NO! I need to be out on the road by 9 the latest. The plane should touch down by 10 and I need to be there before then. You should be up as well. You're now the leader of the biggest mafia organizations in the world and you're spending your morning whining in bed? How Tragic!"
"That mouth will get you a spanking."
"A spanking that will be returned right back. Your threats are getting old my friend, spice things up." I put down the curling iron and walked over to the bathroom door.
I watched as Dominic dragged himself up from the bed. His unnaturally beautiful chest gained all my attention. I've told Dominic he needs to go to bed with clothes fully on and he does but for some odd reason he always wakes up without a shirt. I dread the day when no shirt turns into no pants.
"Explain why I can't come again?" Dominic wondered.
"You know why you can't come. You're the common enemy in my family and unfortunately, it is up to me to make you tolerable in their eyes. So, do you still think your presence is needed?"
"Yes."
"You're becoming irritating. Do you have my guards ready? Were you able to get Samuel, you promised that he will be my assigned guard."
"I did make some calls once you fell asleep but it seems that Samuel is taking some time off. He spoke to my father and requested for a long leave of absence. Since he was my father's main hand, my father granted his wish."
A leave of absence? Samuel has been in my life as my guard for 4 years! He's been my best friend when I've been locked up in my room for 20 hours a day. He would sneak in movies, food, and let me spend extra time downstairs with my family from time to time. Why is he taking a leave of absence? He promised that he would be apart of this journey with me. I hope he didn't find out about the marriage. If he left because of my decision, I wouldn't know what to say. He has been a second father to me when my father was away at work. If he's disappointed in me and my real father is disappointed in me then I might have to consider that maybe... I should rethink my choice to marry.
But right now, I have to think positive. I can't worry about Samuel's absence or my father's choice to not support me. If I keep letting other people's decisions affect me 2 days before my engagement party then I might as well cancel it and believe me that will cause more issues than solve them.
I got dressed up quickly into my black Adidas tracksuit and a white t-shirt underneath. I want to stay comfortable for the long day I'm going to have. By the time I got out of the closet, Dominic was out of bed and sitting by his desk; typing away on his laptop. He failed to dress but of course, when it comes to business, it always comes first.
"Okay Dominic, I'm ready to go. Can you call your guards, please? Oh and I'm going to be taking 2 Escalades. I don't know how many bags my mother brought but knowing her she probably brought her entire life."
"I got a report from the pilot before they departed, she did bring her entire life with her. Very well. I am letting you take my best man Dante and his 2 right hands. Dante has my Express card in case you need to do final shopping before the party. Please call me if you're detouring away from the schedule."
I walked over to the desk and got behind Dominic. I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you and I'll call you if there's a change of plan. Most likely won't be home until lunch because I want to make sure that mama and my brother have outfits for the party."
"Okay, and you listen to Dante. If he says you have to go then you follow him! I don't need you to assert your feminist authority when people are trying to kill you."
"Oh hush, grandpa."
I gave Dominic another kiss on the cheek before leaving the bedroom. When I got down to the foyer, Dante and his two henchmen were outside standing by the parked Escalades. I glanced back at the stairs to find Dominic in his robe staring at me. I shot him a sneaky smile before leaving the house.
Dante's insane driving got us to the private airport 5 minutes before the plane is planned to land. As we parked on the tarmac, I saw the plane slowly starting to land. Dante made us wait until the plane was fully landed and unloaded before I was allowed out. He sent his two henchmen that drove the other Escalade, evacuate the plane and do a thorough search before I saw my famigila.
Once my mama appeared in the doorway of the plane, Dante exited the car and opened the backseat door for me. I couldn't help but run to my mama. The moment we made eye contact she dropped her purse on the runway and ran down the stairs to meet me. We crashed into a hug in the middle of the runway. Overwhelming tears escaped my eyes as I clung onto my mama for dear life. I never wanted to let go. Roberto appeared quickly behind mama and he managed to squeeze himself into my hug. I used to be irritated with the sight of Roberto but now I held onto him as tightly as I did mama.
"Mama, Roberto Mi Sei Mancato (I missed you)."
"Tesoro, honey you look so beautiful and...big. You've gained good weight."
"Mama, please! Five seconds and you're calling me fat."
"It's better than what I was going to say. I was going to call you a pig." Roberto smirked.
"I don't understand why I missed any of you." I rolled my eyes.
"ALESSANDRA!!!!" A loud collective yell shouted from behind Roberto. I untangled myself from my famiglia to see a sight that brought another wave of tears from my eyes. At the top of the staircase from the plane were two people I haven't seen in a long time. There stood my two best friends in the entire world, my sisters from different misters if you will. I ran up the steps to hug Juliana and Babina. I never felt so complete. You never truly appreciate the people you have in your life until they are taken away from you.
"Juju, Babi! I missed you guys so much! I can't believe you're here!"
"We're here?! We can't believe we're seeing you again! We thought we'll never see you again!" Juliana cried out.
"You don't understand how much I miss this curly mop head of yours, Babi!" I laughed as I twirled my head through her gorgeously huge brown curly hair. I've always been jealous of how full and luscious her hair always looked.
"Don't get me started...I can't believe you're back in our lives again."
I've known Babina and Juliana for my entire life. Babina and I have been friends since we were 2 months old. Our mothers were actually best-friends turned arch nemesis back in high school because they both fell in love with the new boy Luca Alfonso. They split up when they both tried to date Luca. Luca entertained my mother and Babina's mother but at the end of their senior year Luca met some new broad during vacation and decided to stop talking to them both. Babina's mother ended moving away but returned back 5 years older, married, and with a 2-month-old. They rekindled their friendship and we've been inseparable ever since.
Juliana came into the picture when we were 2 years old. Her famiglia was originally from Genoa but moved to Milan She lived down the road from me and Babina. Babina and my mother went on a walk when they saw Juliana's mother gardening in her yard. They started to talk and Babina and I made instant friends with Juliana.
We've stayed a friend for years because we all brought different things to our friendship. Babina is the curly wild card as we call her. She's incredibly gorgeous like her mother. Full curly hair, bright green eyes, and a beautiful smile but her attitude is what stands out. She's always been fearless no matter what she had to face. She is always adventurous and outgoing. She would do any dare you tell her to do.
Juliana, on the other hand, was a little miss sweetheart. She is so pure and innocent, despite being friends with such bad influences like us. Her long straight beautiful blond hair paired well with her dark blue eyes and her always rosy cheeks. She always did the right thing and never thought twice about doing something for someone else before herself.
Our group dynamic was unstoppable...until I had to disappear. I missed these girls like I missed my famiglia.
"Hey! Hurry up and get off the plane. We are tired and hungry Cuzzo!" A grumpy voice called out behind me. It was my Nana and Nono. I didn't even realize they were still on the plane trying to get off!
"Nana! Nono! It's been too long!" I walked inside the plane to give them a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I glanced around the plane but as I feared, it was empty. My father decided to stay at home instead of supporting me. He made his choice.
"Tereso! Come on, let's go get something to eat." Yelled my mama.
----------
Everyone was stuffed inside the main Escalade that Dante drove while everyone's luggage was trailing behind in the backup car. The car was loud with conversation, laughter, and yelling. This is what I missed. Surprisingly, no one brought up Dominic or the wedding the entire ride into the city. I had a feeling they made an agreement on the plane to save their worries until after we got home. Mama definitely has some unanswered questions for Dominic and she's going to let him know.
We made a few stops before we went home. I wanted to treat my famigila to a nice day of shopping courtesy of Dominic Black American Express card. I needed to win Dominic some brownie points considering he's going to get his more than an earful from everyone. We stopped at every and any store we can find. Babina and Juliana have very expensive taste so they made sure we stopped at the high-end places first before going to the small boutiques for my mother and my grandparents. I must have racked on at least $20k onto his credit card. I hope he won't be too mad...
I sent a text to Dominic while we shopped in the last boutique that I should be home soon. It was only 3 pm which I expected to spend a long time shopping with such shop-alcoholics as my famiglia and friends.
The ride home wasn't as loud and crazy as the ride to the outlets. Mostly because I drowned out any conversation around me. I was too worried about what events are to come. I needed mama to agree to the wedding, she doesn't have to like it but I need her to come and show support. The last thing I want to hear is mama saying she wants to go home.
"Ally, why are you so quiet?" Babina wondered.
"Nothing just thinking," I whispered quietly.
"Don't worry, your mother promised to behave when meeting Dominic. She promised no physical contact. We couldn't get her to compromise on the swearing though." Juliana whispered quietly to me.
A small smile appeared on my face. Lord this is going to be a nightmare.
We made it home soon enough. In front of the house was the second Escalade and around it was maids unloading their luggage. Dominic stood proudly at the front door, overseeing the maids unload the car. He cleaned up quite nicely. His hair was jelled back with a fresh line up. His face was shaven, washed and somewhat glowing with the help of the sun. His suit was a dark purple fitted suit with matching purple velvet shoes.
"Oh my lord...this is where you've run off too. I can't be mad." Juliana mumbled under her breath.
I made sure I was the first one out of the car before anyone else exited. Once Dominic saw me, he walked down slowly to stand by my side. I saw his hand stick out grasp my waist but I took a swift step to the side to avoid his touch.
"Dominic, I'm a nervous wreck and your touch won't make it better. Sorry." I whispered nervously.
"Do not reject me in public principessa. Come back here." He really chooses the wrong time to be irritating.
"Dominic I'm trying to save my life and yours. Just stand beside me please."
Dante helped get my grandparents and mama get out the car first. Roberto, Juliana, and Babina followed after. I took Gabriel's hand and led him over to the car.
"Mama, Nana, Nono, Juliana, Babina, Roberto...this is Dominic. Dominic this is my famiglia." I said shakily.
Mama looked him the eye with pride. No one said a word. For a long moment, there was a starring contest between Dominic and my mama. I needed someone to say something...to say anything!
"So how in the world did you get my daughter to agree to marry you?!" Mama screamed out. Oh boy, here we go!
