(Rudraksh)

"Humare Bina"

(Without us)

As soon as they turned to the door, Rudraksh, Ruhanika, Ashvik, Amandeep, Rishwik, and Kartavya were all taken aback by the unexpected sight. Kartavya’s eyes widened in shock, while Rishwik was the only one smiling, seemingly aware of what was happening. Rudraksh, on the other hand, shot a glare at Rishwik.

Ruhanika, seeing the unfamiliar faces at the door, felt a wave of fear rush through her. Instinctively, she tightened her grip on Rudraksh’s shirt near his chest, seeking comfort. As she tried to shield herself from the strangers by hiding in Rudraksh's chest, Rudraksh immediately sensed her fear. Concern flooded his expression as he looked down at her, his protective instincts kicking in. He wrapped both arms around her, pulling her even closer. He gently rubbed her back in soothing circles, trying to calm her down.

Rudraksh: "Shhh betu, darne ki zarurat nahi hai, koi kuch nahi karega."

(Shhh baby, there’s no need to be scared, no one’s going to do anything.)

Ruhanika looked up at Rudraksh, her big eyes filled with fear and uncertainty, searching for reassurance. Her delicate features wore a scared expression that tugged at his heart. Without a moment’s delay, Rudraksh gently cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs softly caressing her cheeks. His touch was tender, filled with all the love and comfort she needed in that moment. Lowering his head slightly, he pressed a soft, lingering kiss on her forehead. As he pulled back, his gaze remained locked on hers, and he whispered.

Rudraksh: "Shhh, relax okay? They are family too."

Ruhanika: "Parivaar??"

(Family?)

Rudraksh gently blinked his eyes in reassurance, his fingers softly grazing Ruhanika’s cheeks in a comforting gesture.

Rudraksh: "Haa betu, family, apne bhai sa se pucho, agar vo sahi salamat Bach Gaye toh."

(Yes, sweetheart, family. Ask your brother if he made it out safe and sound.)

Ruhanika: "Bhai sa ko kya hua??"

(What happened to Brother?)

Ruhanika's heart raced as she quickly turned her attention to Kartavya, who was just standing there, looking frozen. The two girls who had been at the door just seconds ago were now standing directly in front of him. Kartavya, usually composed and confident, had an unmistakable look of fear on his face, which only deepened the mystery. Ruhanika blinked in confusion, gripping Rudraksh's shirt a little less tightly now but still on edge. She watched as the two girls confronted Kartavya, their expressions unreadable. Her eyes darted between Kartavya and the two girls, unsure of what was happening, but sensing something unusual about the situation. She unconsciously tightened her hold on Rudraksh’s shirt again, her previous nervousness creeping back in as she tried to make sense of what was unfolding in front of her.

Kartavya: "Isha, kriti listen...."

The two women who had startled Kartavya were none other than his wife, Savisha, and his sister, Kritika. Both of them had a commanding presence as they approached him, their expressions firm but laced with a teasing hint of mischief. Without uttering a word, they raised their palms to Kartavya, and in an instant, his bravado faded. He went completely silent, swallowing nervously as a lump formed in his throat. Savisha and Kritika circled him, each taking their time to make him feel the weight of their silent reproach. Kartavya, helpless under their gaze, seemed like a little boy caught doing something wrong. Then, without further delay, they both shifted their attention towards Ruhanika. As they walked towards her, the air seemed to lighten. Both women were dressed in beautiful patiala suits, reflecting their vibrant personalities. Savisha, with her graceful pink patiala suit, looked elegant, her long hair braided and adorned with a traditional paranda. Beside her, Kritika, in a striking blue patiala suit, looked equally poised. Their jutis clicked lightly as they walked, adding to the traditional charm of their appearance.

As Savisha and Kritika approached, Ruhanika instinctively stood up, her heart racing with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. Rudraksh, sensing her unease, stood beside her in solidarity. However, as the two women drew nearer, Ruhanika quickly clasped onto his arms and slightly retreated behind him, lowering her head in a attempt to shield herself. Savisha and Kritika exchanged amused glances, taking in Ruhanika's attempt to hide behind Rudraksh. They observed her from head to toe, noting how she clung to him like a protective shield. Rudraksh, sensing her discomfort, gently held her hand resting on his bicep and tried to pull her forward into the spotlight, encouraging her to meet their warm gazes. However, Ruhanika firmly shook her head, her eyes wide as she silently pleaded to remain hidden behind him.

Savisha: "Ohh toh tum ho Ruhanika."

(Oh, so you are Ruhanika?)

Kritika: "Parjai, eh taan vekhan ch vi theek hi lagdi hai na!"

(Sister-in-law, she looks pretty decent, doesn’t she?)

Savisha: "Haan, sir ton paer tak bas theek-thaak hi hai."

(Yeah, from head to toe, she’s just okay.)

Rudraksh rolled his eyes at the playful banter unfolding before him. Just then, Kartavya stepped in, as he pulled Savisha slightly back, creating a space between her and Ruhanika. In a lighthearted manner, he twisted Kritika’s ear, earning a mock gasp of protest from her.

Kritika: "Ahh bhai, yaar kya kar rahe ho."

(Ugh, brother, what are you doing?)

Kartavya: "Kya natak laga rakha hai dono ne??"

(What drama have you two cooked up now?)

Savisha: "Avya, aap rehne do main baat nahi kar rahi aapse."

(Avya, you stay out of this, I’m not talking to you.)

Rudraksh: "Aur bhabhi, Ruhh nu Punjabi nahi aundi."

(And sis-in-law, Ruhi doesn’t understand Punjabi.)

Savisha, Kritika: "What?????"

Both of them gasped in shock, their eyes widening at the unexpected revealation. Instantly, Ruhanika sought comfort and hugged Rudraksh tightly, her heart racing. Rudraksh wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. Gently, he caressed her head, running his fingers through her hair, trying to soothe her racing heartbeat.

Rudraksh: "Shhh betu, koi baat nahi hai. Ye bhabhi aur Kriti hai."

(Shhh baby, it's okay. This is your sister-in-law and this is Kritika.)

Still wrapped in Rudraksh's embrace, Ruhanika lifted her gaze to meet his eyes, finding solace in the warmth and strength he exuded. Just then, Kartavya approached Ruhanika, and he shot a glare at both his wife and sister.

Kartavya: "Mahiye, tusi dono little sunshine nu dara ditta na!"

(Sweetheart, you both scared my little sunshine!)

Savisha: "Avya, hum mazaak kar rahe the hume nahi pata tha, Ruhi itni dar jayegi."

(Avya, we were just kidding. We didn’t know Ruhi would get so scared.)

Kritika: "haa bhai, aur Rudraksh bhai sorry."

(Yeah brother, and Rudraksh bro, we’re really sorry.)

Rudraksh: "Galti aap dono ki nahi kriti aur bhabhi, ye Rishwik ne hi sab failayi hai khabar aur phir se aadhi adhuri failayi hai."

(It’s not your fault, Kriti and sis-in-law. Rishwik is the one who spread the news, and as usual, half-baked information.)

Ashvik: "Rishwik tu ek kaam kar, Sidha news channel me jaake broadcast karde sab ab."

(Rishwik, do one thing: just go to a news channel and broadcast everything now!)

Rudraksh, Ashvik, and Kartavya turned their collective gaze toward Rishwik, and shot him their deadly glares.

Amandeep: "Bhai Rishi, tu toh Gaya."

(Bro Rishi, you’re in trouble now.)

Rishwik shot a pointed glare at Amandeep, who simply shrugged, clearly unfazed by the scrutiny. He then turned his attention to the rest of the group.

Rishwik: "Har baar bewakoofi nahi karta hu main, aur bhabhs aur Kriti di aap sabki tarah bewakoof nahi hai. Un dono ne meri puri baat suni hai sab pata hai unhe. Aur kartavya bhai, bhabhs naraz hai kyuki aap jabse aaye ho ek call nahi Kiya hai unhe."

(I don’t always do dumb things! And sis-in-law and Kriti Di aren’t as clueless as you think. They know the full story because they listened to everything. And Kartavya Bhai, sis-in-law is upset because ever since you arrived, you haven’t called her even once.)

Kartavya: "Aur tune call karke aag laga di."

(And you lit the fire by calling her, didn’t you?)

Savisha: "Shut up avya, Rishwik ki galti nahi hai. But filhal mujhe apni devrani se milne do hatiye aap."

(Shut up, Avya! It’s not Rishwik’s fault. But for now, let me meet my sister-in-law. Move aside!)

Savisha took a step closer to Ruhanika, her eyes filled with concern and curiosity. But as she approached, Ruhanika instinctively buried her face deeper into Rudraksh's chest, seeking comfort in his embrace. Seeing this, Savisha shot Rudraksh a questioning glance, her brow furrowing slightly. In response, Rudraksh blinked his eyes slowly.

Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, betu dekho ye bhabhi hai aur ye Kritika hai. Kartavya bhai ne bataya tha na tumhe inke baare me."

(Ruhh, baby, look, this is your sister-in-law, and this is Kritika. Kartavya Bhai told you about them, right?)

Ruhanika slowly lifted her head from Rudraksh's chest to meet his gaze and she nodded gently.

Rudraksh: "Ha toh ye bure nahi hai, tumhare birthday ke liye aaye hai, milogi nahi unse sohneyo??"

(So, they’re not bad people. They came here for your birthday, won’t you meet them, my darling?)

Ruhanika: "Hum mil le inse??"

(Can I really meet them?)

Rudraksh smiled gently at Ruhanika, blinking his eyes in a reassuring manner. However, beneath his calm exterior, he felt a pang of pain for her situation. It hurt him to see that this sweet, innocent girl was still unable to fully trust or engage with people she didn't know. Slowly, Ruhanika mustered the courage to turn toward Savisha, who was standing nearby with a warm smile. Kritika also approached them, her expression friendly and inviting. As their smiles met hers, Ruhanika could only manage a small, hesitant smile in return, barely lifting the corners of her lips. Feeling the weight of the moment, Ruhanika timidly bent down to touch Savisha's feet in a traditional gesture of respect. However, Savisha gently held her by the shoulders to stop her. The unexpected contact made Ruhanika flinch slightly, and she instinctively moved back, her back hitting Rudraksh's chest. In that instant, Rudraksh instinctively wrapped his arms around her shoulders from behind, providing a comforting presence that made her feel safe. Ruhanika leaned into him slightly, seeking solace in his strength.

Savisha: "Areh daro nahi Ruhi, main Avya ki wife hu aur ye unki behen hai Kritika. Hum yaha tumhare birthday ke liye aaye hai, milogi nahi humse"

(Don’t be scared, Ruhi. I’m Avya’s wife, and this is his sister, Kritika. We’ve come for your birthday, won’t you meet us?)

Ruhanika slowly took a step forward, her demeanor shifting to one of respect and sincerity. She joined her hands together in a traditional gesture, her palms pressed together as she lowered her head slightly in reverence.

Ruhanika: "Pranam bhabhi sa, pranam didi."

(Greetings, Sister in law, greetings Sister.)

Savisha and Kritika both smiled warmly at Ruhanika, Ruhanika, feeling the warmth of their smiles, gradually returned the gesture with a shy but heartfelt smile of her own.

Kritika: "Kaisi ho Ruhi?? Rishwik ne bataya hume tumhare baare me."

(How are you, Ruhi? Rishwik told us all about you.)

Ruhanika: "Hum thik hai, aap log kaise hai??"

(I’m fine. How are you both?)

Savisha: "We are fine too. Achcha, lagta hai sabne tumhe gifts de diye. Humse nahi logo gift?? "

(We’re fine too. It looks like everyone’s already given you gifts. Don’t you want gifts from us?)

Ruhanika turned her gaze back to Rudraksh, who blinked reassuringly at her and Ruhanika nodded. Kritika, sensing the shift in Ruhanika's demeanor, gently reached out and took her hand.

Kritika: "Tumhe harm nahi karungi, aao zara baitho toh."

(Don’t worry, we won’t harm you. Come sit with us for a bit.)

Kritika gently guided Ruhanika back to her seat, ensuring she was comfortable. Savisha, with a warm smile, turned to Kartavya and asked for his assistance. She opened her suitcase and began rummaging through it, pulling out various items with a sense of purpose. Savisha pulled out several beautifully wrapped items and handed them to Kritika, who carefully held them in her arms, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Then, with a flourish, Savisha retrieved a stunning red dupatta that was long and intricately netted, exuding an elegant charm. As she approached Ruhanika, Savisha draped the dupatta over her head with a gentle yet purposeful motion. Ruhanika looked up at Savisha, her expression a mixture of confusion and curiosity. The unexpected gesture left her momentarily speechless, unsure of what it all meant.

Savisha: "Vo humare yaha nayi dulhan ko aisa karte hai, yaha toh kisi ne kiya nahi hoga na, isiliye."

(In our family, new brides are welcomed like this. But I guess no one here does it, right?)

Ruhanika's face lit up with a gentle smile as she looked at Savisha. Savisha returned the smile, her eyes filled with kindness, and gently placed a coconut on Ruhanika's lap. Savisha reached for a small container of kumkum. She dipped her fingers into the bright vermillion powder and then gently put a small tika on her forehead.

Kritika: "Perfect, ab lag rahi ho tum bilkul Rudraksh bhai ki wife."

(Perfect, now you really look like Rudraksh Bhai’s wife.)

A radiant smile broke across Ruhanika's face, revealing her adorable dimples that seemed to light up the room. Savisha and Kritika exchanged glances, their eyes sparkling with admiration.

Kritika: "Omg bhai, aap itni pretty aur cutie wife lekar aaye ho. Aisi biwi ho tum toh koi bhi ghar se bahar hi na nikle."

(Oh my god, brother, you’ve got such a pretty and cute wife. If I had such a wife, I’d never leave home.)

Everyone burst into laughter at Kritika's statement. However, Ruhanika remained puzzled by the last line, her brows furrowing in confusion. As was often the case, she turned to Rudraksh, seeking clarity in his eyes. He simply shook his head, a gentle smile on his lips, signaling her to disregard the comment. Seeing the playful interaction, Kartavya stepped in, placing a reassuring hand on both Kritika and Savisha's shoulders as he positioned himself between them.

Kartavya: "Ye tum dono kab se aise full traditional Punjabi kudiyo ki tarah sajne lagi??"

(Since when did you two start dressing up like full-on traditional Punjabi girls?)

Kritika: "Bhai actually we thought Ruhi bahaut traditional hai na toh hum vaise hi ban ke jaye, Ruhi ko impress karne ke liye."

(Brother, we thought Ruhi is very traditional, so we dressed up like this to impress her.)

Savisha: "Vaise vi asin nahi chaunde ki eh sanu kahe ke asin aadhe adhure kapde paaye ne."

(Also, we didn’t want her saying we were wearing incomplete clothes or something.)

Laughter erupted among the group, filling the air with a light-hearted atmosphere. Rishwik and Ashvik, unable to contain their joy, stepped forward and embraced Savisha first, pulling her into a warm hug.

Rishwik, Ashvik: "Welcome Home bhabhsssss."

Savisha chuckled, while Kartavya shot a mock glare at Rishwik and Ashvik. Undeterred, the two friends turned their attention to Kritika, wrapping her in a warm embrace. Kritika giggled, feeling the affection from her brothers, her smile widening as they shared this moment of joy together.

Rishwik: "Welcome Home Kriti di"

Ashvik: "Welcome Home Krituuu"

Kritika: "Thanks Rishwik, Ashvik bhai."

Amandeep: "Ruhi bore ho Rahi hai, chalo yaar shuru karte hai celebration."

(Ruhi is getting bored. Come on, let’s start the celebration.)

"Yeahhhhhhh"

Everyone erupted in cheers and excitement as Savisha gently moved Ruhanika's dupatta aside, ensuring she felt comfortable. Just as Rishwik was about to press play on the music, Rudraksh suddenly intervened, halting him with a wave of his hand. Without missing a beat, he dashed inside the house, leaving everyone curious about what he was up to. A couple of minutes later, he returned, guitar in hand, and the crowd erupted into hoots and applause, thrilled by the unexpected performance. Rudraksh settled down beside Ruhanika, flashing her a warm smile that made her heart flutter. She responded with her own radiant smile, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. As he began to strum the strings of the guitar, Rudraksh locked his gaze onto Ruhanika's, pouring all his affection and admiration into the music. His voice flowed smoothly as he sang, each note carrying a melody that echoed the love he felt for her.  The lyrics poured from his heart, each word woven with emotion and devotion, creating an enchanting atmosphere around them. Ruhanika listened intently, her eyes sparkling with admiration, completely captivated by the melody and the man who was serenading her.

"Dekha tenu pehli pehli baar ve

Hone laga dil bekaraar ve

Rabba mainu ki ho gaya

Dil janiye main tera hi ho gaya

Ho tere aage pichhe ghume soneya

Jadoo tere hath chumme soneya

Mitha mitha ji ho gaya

Dil janiye haye mainu ki ho gaya"

Kartavya knelt down in front of Savisha, a playful smile on his face as he extended his hand to her, inviting her for a dance. She accepted gracefully, placing her hand in his, and together they began to sway to the rhythm of the song, their movements smooth and synchronized. The sight of them brought a wave of joy to everyone around. Not to be outdone, Ashvik followed suit, turning to Kritika with the same hopeful expression. She beamed at him, taking his hand and joining him on the dance floor. Meanwhile, Rishwik and Amandeep exchanged glances. Rishwik was about to approach Ruhanika for a dance when he noticed her completely entranced by Rudraksh. She gazed into his eyes, her face illuminated by a blissful smile that spoke volumes of her feelings for him. Rishwik paused, realizing that interrupting their moment would be a disservice to the magic unfolding between them. Instead, he shared a knowing smile with Amandeep, both of them choosing to let Rudraksh and Ruhanika bask in their connection.

"Main dil tere kadma che rakha dholna

Main tere aage akhiyan na chakka dholna

Je tere te rabb vich takkna pave

Te fir main tenu hi takka dholna

Tu jadun teri zulfan nu kholeya

Mere kolo gya nahi je boleya

Meri tu kami ho gaya

Dil janiye eh mainu ki ho gya

O O ha ha

O jahan jahan tere pair pade

Wahan wahan nazare hain

Wahan wahan nazare hain

Tu mera chandrma aur hum tere taare hain

Aur hum tere taare hain"

Rudraksh, completely lost in the moment, maintained his gaze on Ruhanika as he gently handed the guitar over to Amandeep, who took over the melody seamlessly. With Amandeep strumming the strings, Rudraksh continued to sing, his voice steady and filled with emotion. Kneeling in front of Ruhanika, he extended his hand toward her with an inviting smile. She looked at him with trust in her eyes, knowing that he would always cherish and protect her. Slowly, she placed her hand in his, allowing him to lead her into this intimate dance. As he took her hand, Rudraksh positioned one of her hands on his shoulder while he held the other, pulling her closer to him by her waist. The warmth of their bodies pressed together sent a delightful shiver down both their spines, igniting a spark between them that felt electric. They began to sway gently, moving in time with the music as if the world around them had faded away. Ruhanika’s expression was pure joy, her cute, satisfied smile lighting up her face and causing her eyes to shine like stars. She felt cherished and happy in Rudraksh's embrace, and as they danced, the bond between them deepened

"Ho o jahan jahan tere pair pade

Wahan wahan nazare hain

Tu mera chandarma aur hum tere taare hain

Taare hain taare teri aankhon ke taare

Maare hain maare teri baaton ke maare

Ho tenu dekh badlaan ne rang badle

Ho udd de parindeyan ne fangg badle

Te jag soche main ki badlaan

Oh yaara tere karke malang badle"

Rudraksh twirled Ruhanika gracefully, spinning her twice before pulling her close again,  With a gentle turn, he supported her back with his hand, bringing her closer once more, their bodies moving in perfect harmony. As he turned her again, Ruhanika’s back hit his chest, and he quickly wrapped his arms around her, resting his chin on her shoulder while continuing to sing softly in her ear. Ruhanika felt a flurry of emotions swirling within her, her smile radiating pure happiness. Yet, amidst the joy, a wave of confusion washed over her as she grappled with the hormonal rush coursing through her body. The warmth of Rudraksh's embrace and the intimate nature of their dance left her heart racing and her thoughts scattered. Rudraksh, on the other hand, was fully aware of the feelings flooding his heart—an intoxicating blend of love, and protectiveness. He savored every moment, breathing in the sweet scent of her hair and feeling her warmth against him. He gently turned her again, locking eyes with her as he gazed at her lovingly. The depth of his feelings was mirrored in his expression, and for a fleeting moment, time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in each other’s eyes.

"O jadu hai re jadu teri baaton mein

Suni suni kaali kaali raato mein

Tu roshni ho gaya

Dil janiye eh mainu ki ho gaya

Dekhha tenu pehli pehli baar ve

Hone lga dil bekaraar ve

Rabba mainu ki ho gaya."

Ruhanika felt a rush of warmth flood her cheeks as Rudraksh's gaze lingered on her, and an overwhelming shyness took hold of her. Unable to bear the intensity of his affectionate stare, she quickly buried her face in his chest, seeking refuge in the familiar comfort of his embrace. Rudraksh couldn't help but chuckle softly at her adorable reaction, his heart swelling with affection for her innocence. As the final notes of the song echoed through the room, applause erupted from their family, celebrating the beautiful moment they had just shared. Ruhanika glanced around at the smiling faces, her heart racing at the attention, and once again, she felt a wave of shyness wash over her. Without thinking, she hid herself deeper into Rudraksh's arms, her face pressed against his shirt as she tried to escape the spotlight. The laughter and playful teasing from their friends filled the air, each of them amused by Ruhanika's endearing shyness. Rudraksh tightened his hold around her, a soft smile spreading across his face as he enjoyed this sweet moment, feeling a sense of happiness that only she could bring.

Kritika: "She’s such a cutie pie."

Rudraksh smiled gently, his eyes sparkling with affection, before gently pulling away from Ruhanika. He looked into her eyes.

Rudraksh: "Relax, sab apne hi toh hai, okay??"

(Relax, everyone here is family, okay?)

Ruhanika nodded and smiled.

Rishwik: "Bas ab bahaut hua mera akelapan, ab meri pasand ke gaane bajenge."

(Enough of my loneliness. Now, my favorite songs will play.)

Rishwik dashed over to the music system, excitement radiating from him as he hit play on "Gallan Goodiyan." The lively beat filled the room, and without missing a beat, he rushed toward Ruhanika, grabbing her hand and twirling her into the dance. Laughter bubbled from her lips, her eyes sparkling with joy as she joined in his spirited moves. Her laughter bubbled up as Rishwik danced with wild abandon, his movements infectious. Ruhanika couldn’t help but giggle, her spirit lifted by the vibrant atmosphere that surrounded them. The joy was contagious, and one by one, their family joined in, transforming the space into a vibrant dance floor filled with laughter and spirited movements. But amidst the whirlwind of movement, Rudraksh remained still, his gaze solely fixed on Ruhanika. He stood back, a soft smile playing on his lips as he admired his beautiful wife, her laughter echoing in his heart. Watching her joy and carefree spirit lit a warmth within him, and he felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for having her in his life. In that moment, the world around him faded away, and all he could see was her radiant smile, making every worry and concern melt away.

"Main Daalun Taal Pe Bhangra

Tu Bhi Gidda Paa Le

Chal Aisa Rang Jamaa De Hum

Ke Bane Sabhi Matwaale

Mann Kahe Ki Main Le Aaun

Chaand Aur Taare Saare

Inn Haathon Par Main Chaand Rakhun

Iss Maang Mein Bhar Doon Taare

Hello Hello Tu Floor Pe Kab Hai Aayi

Ye Lo, Ye Lo, Badi Solid Masti Chaayi"

As Rishwik twirled Ruhanika away, the energy of the dance shifted, and partners exchanged places like a lively game. Ruhanika found herself in front of Kartavya, who grinned at her with encouragement. Savisha, meanwhile, joined Rishwik, and Kritika paired up with Amandeep, creating a delightful dance ensemble. In the corner, Ashvik, feeling a bit left out, decided to break into a lively Bhangra routine all on his own. His exuberance was contagious, and soon everyone burst into laughter, captivated by his enthusiastic moves. They couldn’t help but join him, their spirits soaring higher with each beat. Seeing Ruhanika looking a bit lost in the swirling chaos, Kartavya took it upon himself to teach her the steps of Bhangra. He demonstrated the rhythm with infectious energy, clapping his hands and stomping his feet, while Ruhanika watched intently, her eyes wide with curiosity. He guided her through the movements, encouraging her to let loose and enjoy the moment. Ruhanika’s initial hesitation faded as she began to mimic Kartavya's steps. With each sway and bounce, she found herself laughing, her cheeks flushed with excitement. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter and music as everyone danced together, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

"Hello Hello Too Much Hai Tumne Lagayi

Ye Lo, Ye Lo, Control Karo Mere Bhai

Dhak-Dhak Dhak-Dhak Dhadke Ye Dil

Chhan Chhan Bole Amritsari Choodiyan

Raat Badi Hai Mastaani

Toh Dilbar Jaani Kar Le Gallan Goodiyan

Dhak-Dhak Dhak-Dhak Dhadke Ye Dil

Chhan Chhan Bole Amritsari Choodiyan

Raat Badi Hai Mastaani

Toh Dilbar Jaani Kar Le Gallan Goodiyan"

The song changed and now it was "Chaiyyan chaiyaan".  As the upbeat rhythm of "Chaiyyan Chaiyyan" filled the air, the energy in the room skyrocketed. The infectious melody beckoned everyone to move, and without a moment's hesitation, they let loose, swaying and twirling with glee. Ruhanika felt the excitement wash over her, her spirits lifted by the joyful atmosphere surrounding her. No one allowed her to feel isolated; they all engaged her in their dance, pulling her into the vibrant circle. Rishwik and Ashvik playfully gestured for her to join their impromptu dance-off, their laughter ringing out as they attempted to outdo each other with silly moves. Ruhanika couldn't help but giggle, her initial shyness melting away under the warm camaraderie of her family.

"Jinke Sar Ho Ishq Ki Chaaon

Paanv Ke Neeche Jannat Hogi

Jinke Sar Ho Ishq Ki Chaaon

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya"

Ruhanika moved closer to Rudraksh, her heart swelling with affection, and gently took his hand in hers.

Ruhanika: "Aap bhi chaliye na, kitna aanand aa raha hai."

(You come too! It’s so much fun!)

Rudraksh: "Nahi yellow, main aise itna dance nahi karta hu."

(No, sweetheart, I don’t really dance that much.)

Ruhanika: "Toh aaj kar lijiye na humare sath, hum chahte hai aap bhi aake sabke sath thoda mazaa karein."

(Well, today you should. I want you to come and enjoy with everyone.)

Rudraksh: "Par betu.."

(But baby...)

Ruhanika: "Hum vinati karte hai, chaliye na"

(I request you, please come!)

Rudraksh: "Vinati nahi, Sirf hukum kiya karein aap meri Rajkumari ji, chaliye."

(Not a request, just give me an order, my princess. Let’s go.)

Rudraksh playfully tapped Ruhanika's nose, prompting her to grin widely. With a burst of excitement, she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the group. As they joined everyone, the lively atmosphere was punctuated by a chorus of enthusiastic voices shouting.

"Saare Ishq Ki Chaaon

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya

Saare Ishq Ki Chaaon Chal Chaiyya

Paanv Janat Chale Chal Chaiya Chaiya

Paanv Janat Chale Chal Chaiya Chaiya"

The energy in the room skyrocketed as everyone erupted into laughter and excitement. Without missing a beat, they all began doing the iconic hook step of the "Chaiya Chaiya" song, moving in unison and matching each other's energy. The vibrant atmosphere filled with joy, as the infectious rhythm drew everyone into the lively dance, their laughter echoing off the walls.

"Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya"

Next, Ashvik and Rishwik exchanged mischievous glances, their excitement bubbling over. With a synchronized movement, they kicked off their shoes, sending them flying into the corner of the room. Without hesitation, they leaped onto the couch, striking playful poses as they shouted the next lines of the song.

"Woh Yaar Hai Jo Khusbhu Ki Tarah

Jiski Zubaan Urdu Ki Tarah"

Then Kartavya knelt down on one knee in front of Savisha, spreading his arms wide with a dramatic flair and sang.

"Meri Shamo-raat Meri Kaynaat

Woh Yaar Mera Saiyyan Saiyyan"

Amandeep and Kritika playfully nudged Ruhanika toward Rudraksh, and he instinctively stepped forward to catch her, wrapping his arms around her protectively.  Meanwhile, Ashvik and Rishwik leaped down dramatically, drawing everyone’s attention. With a synchronized move, all the boys bent down on one knee in front of the ladies of the house, their arms spread wide open, exuding a mix of charm and playful mischief.

"Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya

Chal Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya Chaiyya"

As the final notes of the song faded away, the room erupted with laughter and joy. Family members exchanged warm hugs, their hearts filled with the spirit of togetherness. Ruhanika, still beaming from the fun, looked around at the faces of her loved ones, each one glowing with happiness.

Ashvik: "okay chalo ab bhook lagi hai mujhe, teddy ke bahane hi sahi, Mr. Rudraksh the great Malhotra ke hathon ka khana toh chakhne milega."

(Okay, now I’m hungry. Even if it’s for the teddy, we’ll finally get to taste the great Rudraksh Malhotra’s cooking.)

Rudraksh: "Zyada bakwaas Kari toh sirf chakhne hi milega."

(If you keep talking nonsense, you’ll only get to taste it, not eat it.)

Everyone burst into laughter at Ashvik's exaggerated annoyed expression, which only made him pout even more. Ruhanika turned to Rudraksh, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Rudraksh: "Hun ki hoya sohneyo."

(What happened, my darling?)

Ruhanika: "Ji kya??"

(What?)

Rudraksh: "Kya ho gaya bachcha aise kyu dekh rahi ho??"

(What happened, baby? Why are you looking at me like that?)

Ruhanika: "aaj khana aapne banaya hai??"

(Did you cook today?)

Rudraksh: "Jii, aur sirf aapke liye, chaliye ab aap hume aapki khatirdari karne ka mauka dijiye chaliye Sohneyo."

(Yes, and just for you. Now let me treat you, come on sweetheart.)

Rudraksh playfully poked Ruhanika’s dimples, eliciting a giggle from her.  With a mischievous grin, he began gently guiding her by her shoulders toward the dining area, his touch light yet reassuring. Behind them, Ashvik, Rishwik, Amandeep, and Kritika rushed after them, their laughter filling the air. The lively energy of the group created a delightful buzz, making the moment even more enjoyable. Kartavya slipped an arm around Savisha, pulling her into a side hug as they both watched Rudraksh and Ruhanika with amused expressions. They exchanged knowing glances, appreciating the sweet chemistry between the couple.

Kartavya: "Kitna khush hai na Rudraksh??"

(Look how happy Rudraksh is.)

Savisha: "Pehli baar Rudraksh bhai ko itna khush dekha hai, nazar na lage in dono ko."

( It’s the first time I’ve seen Rudraksh Bhai this happy. I hope no one casts an evil eye on these two.)

Kartavya: "Umeed hai jaldi hi sab thik ho jaye, aur inki zindagi me der sari Khushiyan bhar jaye."

(I hope everything gets better soon, and their lives are filled with happiness.)

Savisha: "Zarur hoga, Ruhanika ke bas aane bhar se Rudraksh bhai aur humara chota sa Rishwik, dono hi kitne khush hai ab sab achcha hoga."

(It definitely will. Just by having Ruhanika around, both Rudraksh Bhai and our little Rishwik are so happy. Everything will be alright.)

Kartavya: "Ashvik bhi ab pehle jaisa nahi rahega, kitna positive change hai sab me."

(Even Ashvik is no longer the way he used to be. Such a positive change in everyone.)

Savisha: "Aman bhi ab chup chup sa nahi rehta."

(Aman is also no longer so quiet.)

Savisha and Kartavya exchanged glances filled with warmth and understanding, a silent conversation passing between them. With a soft smile, Kartavya leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead.

Kritika: "Ohh love birds, ab khane bhi aa jao."

(Oh, love birds! Come for dinner now!)

Kritika shouted. Kartavya and Savisha shared a knowing chuckle, their faces lighting up with warmth as they joined the others at the dining table. Rudraksh had gone above and beyond, preparing a white sauce pasta specifically for Ruhanika. He was fiercely protective of it, ensuring that no one else even thought of taking a bite. His affection was evident as he gently fed Ruhanika, watching her face light up with each mouthful. She savored the creamy goodness, her eyes sparkling with delight. While Rudraksh doted on Ruhanika, he had ordered a variety of dishes for the rest of the group, ensuring everyone had something to enjoy. However, Ruhanika focused solely on her beloved pasta and the sweet cake for dessert. Ruhanika seemed completely enchanted by the pasta, hardly touching anything else. Once they finished their dinner, Amandeep suddenly stood up with a grin. He dashed off, leaving everyone speculating about what was happening. Five minutes later, Amandeep returned, and he handed an envelope to Rudraksh.

Amandeep: "Sir, everything is ready, just your signature is pending."

Rudraksh nodded appreciatively, accepting the paper and pen from Amandeep's outstretched hand. As he glanced over the documents, a sense of determination filled him. With a confident stroke, he signed his name, the pen gliding smoothly across the page.

Kartavya: "What’s this, Rudraksh?"

Amandeep: "It's just that Ruhi loved some chocolates which Rishwik had imported from the US. They weren’t easily available, so..."

Ashvik: "Don’t tell me—this madman took the franchise of that brand, and now he’s going to start it in India."

Amandeep: "Absolutely."

Kartavya, Savisha, Kritika, and Ashvik exchanged surprised glances, their expressions reflecting a mix of disbelief and admiration. It was clear they hadn’t anticipated Rudraksh’s decisive move. Meanwhile, Rishwik, dashed towards Ruhanika, his eyes shining with enthusiasm. He took her hand in his, gripping it gently but firmly.

Rishwik: "Angel, please apni chocolates mere sath bhi share karna please please, main bhi apni coffee share karta hu na."

(Angel, please share your chocolates with me too, please, please! I always share my coffee with you, right?)

Ruhanika: "Ji Rishi Bhai, hum bilkul batenge aapke sath."

(Yes, Rishi Bhai, I will definitely share them with you.)

Rishwik beamed with excitement, and grinned. Ruhanika turned her gaze to Rudraksh and he raised his eyebrows.

Rudraksh: "Hun ki??"

(What now?)

Ruhanika furrowed her brows in puzzlement.

Ruhanika: "Hunki kinki??"

(What, what?)

Rudraksh and the others chuckled at her innocence.

Rudraksh: "Mera matlab ab kya hua??"

(I mean, what happened now?)

Ruhanika: "Aapne vo franchise kyu li?? Bahaut mehenga hota hoga na ye toh, vo bhi sirf ek toffee ke liye??"

(Why did you take the franchise? It must be really expensive, right? And that too, just for some chocolates?)

Rudraksh gently patted her cheeks, his touch warm and reassuring.

Rudraksh: "Tuhadi khushi to agge kuch vi nahi."

(Your happiness is more important than anything.)

Ruhanika: "Jii?"

(What??)

Rudraksh: "I mean kuch nahi tum na itna mat socho okay??"

(I mean, nothing—don’t overthink it, okay?)

Ruhanika nodded, a soft smile on her face as the evening progressed. The atmosphere was filled with lighthearted chatter and laughter as they all engaged in a little chit-chat session, sharing stories and making memories.

Savisha and Kritika, sensing Ruhanika's initial shyness, made it their mission to draw her into the conversation. They encouraged her to share her thoughts, and soon Ruhanika found herself laughing along with them. Though she remained seated next to Rudraksh, holding his hand for comfort, the warmth of the sisterly bond blossomed between Ruhanika, Savisha, and Kritika. After some time, they decided to capture the joyful moments with photographs. The camera clicked, capturing candid smiles, playful poses. Rudraksh watched Ruhanika's face light up as she posed and laughed, feeling a swell of happiness knowing that she was gradually opening up to the people around her. As the night wore on, exhaustion began to set in, and one by one, everyone started to head back to their rooms. Finally, Rudraksh and Ruhanika entered their room together. The door clicked shut behind them.

Rudraksh: "Ruhh, tum andar change kar lo main yahi kar lunga okay??"

(Ruhi, you go inside and change. I’ll change here, okay?)

Ruhanika: "Ji thik hai."

(Okay, fine.)

Ruhanika and Rudraksh stepped into the closet together, Rudraksh quickly grabbed a couple of his vest and a pair of comfortable sweatpants, mindful of giving Ruhanika the privacy she needed, he left with a reassuring smile before closing the door behind him, allowing her a moment of solitude. Once outside, he changed into his own clothes and was waiting for Ruhanika. After few mins Ruhanika opened the door and called Rudraksh.

Ruhanika: "Suniye na"

(Listen...)

Rudraksh glanced towards the closet door, where Ruhanika stood gracefully draped in a soft cotton kurti, paired with a matching salwar and dupatta. A warm smile spread across Rudraksh's face as he took in her radiant appearance.

Rudraksh: "Sunaiye na"

(Go ahead, I’m listening.)

Ruhanika: "Vo kya aap humari sahayta kar denge, humse ye Baal khul nahi rahe hai, vo Rishi Bhai ne na jaane inme kya lagaya hai."

(Um, will you help me? I can’t seem to open my hair. I don’t know what Rishi Bhai put in it!)

Rudraksh: "Abhi aaya."

(I’m coming.)

Rudraksh stepped into the closet with Ruhanika, guiding her towards the vanity. He gently helped her settle onto the soft ottoman, where she sat comfortably. Standing behind her, he began to delicately remove the accessories from her hair. As he unfastened the intricate clips and pins, Ruhanika watched him with a curious gaze, intrigued by the tenderness of his actions. She noticed the way his fingers moved with precision and care, as if he was handling something precious. Rudraksh, feeling her gaze upon him, couldn’t help but smile and said.

Rudraksh: "Pucho Sohneyo jo puchna chahti ho"

(Go ahead and ask what you want to ask.)

Ruhanika: "Vo Jab aap na niche gaana ga rahe the na, hume na humare bheetar pata nahi kuch mehsus hua, jaise humare bheetar titliya ud rahi hai."

(Well, when you were singing downstairs, I felt something inside me, like butterflies flying around in my stomach.)

Rudraksh gazed at Ruhanika, his heart echoing the same sentiments she had just expressed. He felt a whirlwind of emotions swirling within him—love, admiration, and a deep connection but it was tough for him to explain these things to her.

Rudraksh: "Achcha aur kya kya hua??"

(Really? And what else did you feel?)

Ruhanika: "umm aur humare Shareer me thihar si uthi jab aap humare sath nritya kar rahe the."

(Umm, and when you were dancing with me, I felt a little shiver in my body.)

Rudraksh: "Aur??"

(And?)

Ruhanika: "Aur...umm aur pata nahi hume kuch samajh nahi aaya par hume na aaj bahaut achcha laga, aapke sath bhi aur baaki sabke sath bhi. Sab kitne achche hai. Hum sab humesha aise hi rahenge na??"

(And... umm, I don’t know, I can’t really explain it, but I felt really good today—with you, and with everyone else. Everyone is so nice. We’ll always stay like this, right?)

Rudraksh finished gently unraveling Ruhanika's hair, letting the strands cascade freely around her shoulders. With a tender touch, he began massaging her scalp, his fingers working in slow, soothing circles.

Rudraksh: "Bilkul hum sab aise hi rahenge betu."

(Of course, we’ll always stay like this, my dear.)

Ruhanika: "Par aap bataiye toh hume vo humare bheetar ajeeb kyu laga??"

(But tell me, why did I feel that strange feeling inside me?)

Rudraksh smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around Ruhanika's neck, pulling her closer to him. He pressed a gentle kiss on the top of her head. As he settled into the moment, he rested his chin atop her head, cherishing the intimacy they shared.

Rudraksh: "Tum abhi nahi samjhogi par dheere dheere samajh jaogi."

(You won’t understand it now, but slowly you will.)

Ruhanika: "Aap bataiye toh Aisa kyu hota hai hum sach me samajh jayenge."

(Please tell me, why does that happen? I will really understand.)

Rudraksh helped her to her feet and then gently turned her to face him.

Rudraksh: "Betu, mere sath bhi aisa hi hota, umm kaise batau... Achcha tum itna samajh lo jab kisi ki nayi nayi shadi hoti hai na aur vo dono ek sath waqt guzarte hai toh shuruwat me aisa hi hota hai."

(Sweetheart, the same thing happens to me too. Umm, how do I explain it... okay, just know that when two people get married and start spending time together, this is how it starts.)

Ruhanika: "Achchaaa, toh dekhiye itni si toh baat thi aur hum samajh bhi gaye."

(Oh, so that’s all it was! See, I understood it easily.)

Ruhanika beamed with pride at her own cleverness, and Rudraksh playfully poked her dimples, eliciting a soft giggle from her.

Rudraksh: "Chalo ab thak gayi rahogi na so jaate hai."

(Alright, you must be tired now, let’s sleep.)

Ruhanika: "Jii"

(Yes.)

Both of them settled onto the bed, but Rudraksh noticed a fleeting look of pain cross Ruhanika's face. Concern etched on his features, he leaned closer, trying to understand what was troubling her.

Rudraksh: "Kya hua betu?"

(What’s wrong, sweetheart?)

Ruhanika: "Bas pairon me dard hai thoda sa."

(It’s just that my feet hurt a little.)

Rudraksh: "Itna nachogi toh hoga hi na, lao main tumhare pair daba deta hu."

(Well, that’s bound to happen after dancing so much. Come on, let me massage your feet.)

Rudraksh reached out, intending to gently hold her feet, but Ruhanika quickly pulled them back, he furrowed his brow in confusion, trying to grasp her reaction.

Ruhanika: "Aap bhi thak gaye hai. Chaliye so jaate hai, khud ba khud thik ho jayega."

(You’re tired too. Let’s just sleep; it’ll get better on its own.)

Rudraksh attempted to explain himself, but Ruhanika was too preoccupied to really hear him. After insisting that he should get some rest, she settled beside him, holding his hand with a gentle grip. Her head found its way to his shoulder, and she began to fidget with his fingers, her mind racing as she launched into a spirited rant about her day. Rudraksh couldn’t help but chuckle at her animated recounting; it was endearing to see how passionate she was, even when sleepiness was creeping in. He noted how she often found comfort in these simple moments with him. He listened intently, but as her words gradually slowed and her eyes fluttered, he knew she was getting sleepy. With a tender smile, he carefully maneuvered her to lie down properly on the bed, ensuring she was comfortable. But before he could settle down himself, she shifted closer, resting her head against his chest and sprawling out on him like a content cat.

Rudraksh’s heart swelled at the sight; she looked so peaceful, so utterly relaxed. He wrapped his arms around her, drawing her even closer, and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. The warmth of her presence enveloped him, and he felt an overwhelming sense of contentment wash over him. Within moments, he felt her breathing deepen, a soft rhythm that signaled she had drifted off into a peaceful sleep. Smiling to himself, he closed his eyes, allowing the comforting weight of her in his arms to lull him into slumber as well, both of them enveloped in a cocoon of warmth and love.

Precap: Ruhanika gives a nickname to Rudraksh

(much awaited I know 😜😜)

The target for the last chapter is still incomplete, but I’m updating this one as per the schedule. Even though the views are at 5k, the votes haven’t even hit 1k—it’s really unfair. People are reading but not voting! The next chapter on Saturday will only be updated once the target is completed.

I’ve also added the aesthetics for the characters and the event. Hope you all enjoy it! I meant to include it in the previous chapter but forgot. Apologies for that.💖💖
