The next day, Rudraksh had some crucial work that required him to be at the office, so he decided to leave Ruhanika at home with Rishwik. Before heading out, he turned to Rishwik, his expression serious, and made a rather stern requestâalmost a threatâto ensure that he took excellent care of Ruhanika. Rishwik, slightly amused, raised an eyebrow as if to say, "As if I wouldn't!" With a final nod of assurance, Rudraksh left no stone unturned in ensuring Ruhanika's safety. He instructed the security in charge of the RM mansion to keep a vigilant eye on her, emphasizing that nothing should happen to her while he was away. Then, turning to Ruhanika, he issued a series of well-meaning instructions: "Don't run around, make sure you eat properly, and if you need anything, ask Rishwik to call me." Once he was satisfied that everything was in place, Rudraksh finally headed to the office, feeling a mix of concern and reassurance. As he drove to Malhotra Enterprises alongside Ashvik and Amandeep, he couldn't shake off the thought of Ruhanika's safety and well-being.
Four hours had passed since Rudraksh left for the office, and during that time, he had called Rishwik six times, each time inquiring about Ruhanikaâs well-being. Meanwhile, Rishwik and Ruhanika were comfortably settled in the living room, engrossed in a comedy movie that had them both laughing heartily while munching on popcorn. As the movie concluded, Rishwik casually changed the channel to find something new to watch. Suddenly, without warning, someone grabbed Rishwikâs hand and yanked him to his feet. Both he and Ruhanika were startled by the sudden movement. Ruhanika stood up as well, her eyes still glued to the television, a look of shock frozen on her face. Fear began to creep into Ruhanika's heart as she sensed something was amiss, the joy from the movie quickly fading. Rishwik turned to see who had interrupted their moment of fun, and his expression mirrored Ruhanika's shock.
Rishwik: "Bas, aaj khatam hu main."
(Iâm finished today.)
Person: "Kaha hai vo Rudraksh????"
(Where is Rudraksh???)
The person shouted, or rather roared, his voice echoing with anger that was palpable in the air. His furious gaze was fixed on Rishwik as he took a menacing step closer. Ruhanika felt a chill run down her spine, and she began to tremble as tears streamed down her cheeks. After weeks of peace and laughter in the house, the sudden eruption of hostility shattered her newfound sense of safety. The fear of being hurt again engulfed her, and she instinctively took a step back. Before the angry figure could unleash more harsh words, Rishwik quickly intervened, stepping in front of her protectively.
Rishwik: "Bhai, bhai please suniye, meri baat suniye Kartavya bhai, shant ho jaiye."
(Brother, brother please listen to me, Kartavya bhai, calm down, please.)
Kartavya: "Shut up Rishwik, you told me that Rudraksh married someone forcefully and now you are asking me to be calm??"
(Shut up, Rishwik! You told me that Rudraksh forced someone into marriage, and now youâre asking me to calm down??)
Kartavya's voice boomed as he shouted at Rishwik, but each word only heightened Ruhanika's fear. Her heart raced, and her breathing quickened, making it hard for her to gather her thoughts. The sight of Kartavya's anger was overwhelming, and she felt her body trembling uncontrollably. In a desperate attempt to steady herself, she clutched the fabric of her dress tightly, as if it could provide her with some semblance of comfort and protection. Tears continued to roll down her cheeks, blurring her vision as panic took hold of her, amplifying the fear that had begun to creep back into her heart.
Rishwik: "Bhai yaar, aap aadhi baat sun ke yaha aa gaye, mujhe meri baat kehna ka mauka toh do. Jaisa aap soch rahe ho vaisa nahi hai."
(Brother, you came here after hearing only half of the story. At least let me explain. Itâs not what you think.)
Kartavya: "Shut up, just shut up, vo pagal mere liye kisi ki bhi Zindagi ke sath kuch bhi karega kya?"
(Shut up, just shut up! That madman will mess with someoneâs life for my sake?)
Kartavya's shout pierced the air, and Rishwik instinctively closed his eyes, realizing he had made a grave mistake. The sound reverberated in Ruhanikaâs mind, and she couldn't bear it any longer; tears streamed down her face as she began to cry uncontrollably. Rishwik, hearing her distress, turned to face her, and his heart sank at the sight. Ruhanika, who had seemed so carefree and happy in their company, now appeared fragile and scared. Her trembling frame and the tears cascading down her cheeks revealed the deeper fears she still harbored. It dawned on him that despite the moments of joy and laughter they shared, she was still grappling with her past traumas. This realization only reinforced why Rudraksh had been so vigilant in keeping her safeâshe wasnât just adapting; she was still haunted by the shadows of her experiences. Rishwik felt a rush of guilt, knowing that the moment of anger had shattered the fragile sense of security they had all worked so hard to build around her.
Rishwik: "Angel sshhh yaar, tum mat rona na.."
(Angel, sshh, donât cry...)
Rishwik cautiously took a step toward Ruhanika, wanting to comfort her and alleviate her distress. However, she instinctively raised her palm, halting his advance. The gesture was filled with both fear and a desperate need for space, and it stung Rishwik to see her so affected.
Ruhanika: "N..ahi, hum...are p...aas n..ahi, hum... Du..rr"
(Noo, don't come near me)
Rishwik's heart sank as he took in Ruhanika's distraught state; he had never expected such a strong reaction from her. His gaze quickly shifted to the TV, where a scene unfolded showing a group of people harming a girl. It clicked in his mindâthis was the source of Ruhanika's distress. Realizing that she was having a panic attack, he hastily turned off the TV, hoping to eliminate the triggering image from her sight. In her frantic state, Ruhanika suddenly spotted something and bolted toward the door. It was Rudraksh, returning home. Without a moment's hesitation, she rushed into his arms, wrapping herself around him tightly as sobs wracked her small frame. Rudraksh was taken aback by the intensity of her reaction, but he immediately wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. He could feel her trembling and the weight of her tears soaking into his shirt, his hands gently caressing her head.
Rudraksh: "Betu?? Kya hua??"
(What happened?)
Ruhanika didnât respond; she simply clung to Rudraksh, her sobs shaking her entire body. The sight of her in such distress tore at Rudraksh's heart, shattering it into pieces. He could feel her fear and vulnerability in the way she tightened her grip on him, as if he were her only anchor in a storm of overwhelming emotions. Just then, Rishwik rushed toward them, worry etched across his face. He was desperate to help but felt helpless as he watched his sister break down in Rudraksh's embrace. Rishwik could see how deeply affected she was and realized that her trauma ran much deeper than they had initially thought.
Rishwik: "Angel?"
Rudraksh: "Rishwik kya hua?? Ruh ki ye halat??"
(Rishwik, what happened? Why is Ruh in this state?)
Rishwik: "Actually bhai, there was a molestation scene on TV, and Angel saw it. At the same time, Kartavya bhai shouted, so..."
Rudraksh suddenly caught sight of Kartavya, whose expression was one of disbelief. Kartavya was taken aback by the unexpected softness Rudraksh was showing towards a girl. It was a stark contrast to the usually tough and aloof demeanor that Rudraksh often displayed.
Rudraksh: "Bhai, youâre here? And you idiot, how can you be so careless?"
Kartavya stood silently, observing the scene unfold before him, his eyes fixed on Rudraksh and the girl. As he took in the unexpected display of tenderness, Rudraksh suddenly redirected his focus to Ruhanika.
Rudraksh: "Shh betu chupp, ye Kartavya bhai hai, anjaan nahi hai daro mat."
(Shh, betu, calm down. This is Kartavya bhai, heâs not a stranger. Donât be afraid.)
Ruhanika: "Vo u..s vo bhi..i ais..e au..r un..h... Vo T...V"
(He... and th...they're like... th..those men on TV.)
Ruhanika couldn't finish her sentence, overwhelmed by emotions, and instead clung to Rudraksh even tighter. The world around them faded away as she found solace in his embrace, seeking comfort from the storm of feelings raging inside her. Rudraksh reciprocated her grip, holding her close as he gently caressed her head, trying to soothe her with his touch. Despite his efforts, Ruhanika's tears continued to flow, each sob a testament to the fear and anguish she had been holding inside. Rudraksh felt his heart ache for her, wishing he could wipe away her pain as easily as he wiped away her tears.
Rudraksh: "Shhh bachcha, tumhe rota dekh ke takleef hoti hai, mat roya Karo na betu."
(Shh, baby, it hurts me to see you cry. Please donât cry, betu.)
Rudraksh kept rubbing her back and gently caressing her head, and gradually, Ruhanikaâs cries transformed into soft sobs. Yet, she still clung to him, unwilling to let go. When Rudraksh attempted to pull her away, she merely nuzzled her cheeks against his chest and shook her head, seeking the comfort of his presence. Watching this unfold, Rishwik felt a surge of guilt wash over him, realizing that his actions had contributed to her distress. A lone tear slipped down his cheek as he took in the sight of his sister in such a fragile state. Without withdrawing his hand from Ruhanika, Rudraksh bent down and lifted her into his arms in a bridal carry. He began to make his way toward his room, Ruhanika instinctively burying herself deeper into his embrace, finding solace in his warmth and strength.
Kartavya slowly made his way toward Rishwik, all the while keeping an eye on Rudraksh and Ruhanika. Despite his steps leading him away, his curiosity about Rudrakshâs unexpected display of affection lingered in his mind
Kartavya: "Kya tha ye"
(What was that?)
Rishwik: "Kya zarurat itna zor se chillane ki, Dara Diya na Angel ko. Kya halat ho gayi uski, itni mushkil se thik huyi thi."
(What was the need to yell so loudly? You scared Angel. Look at her condition; she was just starting to recover.)
Kartavya: "Puri baat bata pehle, Rudraksh ne Zabardasti shadi ki, toh ye abhi kya tha"
(First, tell me the whole story. Rudraksh forced her into marriage, so what was that just now?)
Rishwik: "Sun lete pehle hi."
(You couldâve listened to me earlier.)
Rishwik shot a fierce glare at Kartavya, a look of anger etched on his face. This was the first time he had felt such intense frustration directed at Kartavya, and the tension in the air was palpable. Kartavya, taken aback, could hardly comprehend the unexpected hostility from the Malhotra brothers, especially towards a girl. Before Rishwik could articulate his thoughts and voice his displeasure, Rudrakshâs voice cut through the charged atmosphere. He shouted.
Rudraksh: "Rishwikkkk"
Rishwik and Kartavya dashed towards Rudraksh's room. Rudraksh was gently rubbing Ruhanika's hand.
Rishwik: "Bhai?"
Rudraksh: "Rishwik, call the doctor now!"
Rishwik hurriedly dialed the doctorâs number, urgency in his voice as he requested her to come to the RM mansion immediately. Meanwhile, Kartavya watched in disbelief, witnessing Rudrakshâs tender side for the first time directed toward someone outside his immediate circleâbeyond his family, Rishwik, Ashvik, and Amandeep. As Rudraksh held Ruhanika close, clearly protective and worried, Kartavya placed a hand on his shoulder, trying to grasp the depth of the moment. When Rudraksh turned to face him, his eyes were slightly moist, betraying the concern he felt for Ruhanika. This vulnerability was a new revelation for Kartavya, who had only ever seen Rudraksh as strong and composed.
Rudraksh: "Kartavya bhai, Meri Ruh behosh ho gayi, abhi toh thik huyi thi. Ise kahiye uth Jaye."
(Kartavya bhai, my Ruh has fainted. She was just getting better. Please, tell her to wake up.)
Kartavya: "Rudraksh sambhal aapne aapko, kya hua hai tujhe??"
(Rudraksh, calm down. What happened to you?)
Rudraksh remained silent, his gaze fixed intently on the unconscious Ruhanika. Rishwik came back.
Rishwik: "bhai doctor aa rahi hai."
(the doctor is on the way.)
Rudraksh gently rubbed Ruhanika's hand, his touch reassuring and protective as he tried to soothe her. Rishwik, sitting on the other side, rubbed her feet tenderly, mirroring his brother's concern. Meanwhile, Kartavya observed the Malhotra brothers with a mix of astonishment and respect, noting how tense they were for Ruhanikaâs well-being. Their worry was palpable, a testament to the deep bond they shared with her. Before long, Ashvik and Amandeep burst into the room, having been informed by Rishwik about Ruhanika's distress. They quickly surrounded her, forming a protective circle of support. Ashvik leaned in, caressing her head gently, his voice soft and comforting.
Ashvik: "Teddy, kiddo kya ho gaya, uth jao na."
(Teddy, kiddo, what happened? Please wake up.)
Ruhanika's brothers and her husband were on edge, their worry for her escalating as she remained unresponsive. Just then, the doctor arrived, exuding calm authority as she assessed the situation. She immediately instructed everyone to step outside, creating a private space for Ruhanika. Rudraksh hesitated, wanting to remain by her side, but Kartavya gently urged him to leave, knowing that the doctor needed to work without distractions. Reluctantly, all the men exited the room, casting anxious glances back at the closed door. Once inside, the doctor began her examination. She was already aware of Ruhanikaâs situation, as Rishwik had informed her of the distressing events leading up to this moment.
Outside the room, a heavy silence enveloped the group as they waited, each lost in their own anxious thoughts. The tension was palpable, and the only sounds were the occasional shuffling of feet and the deep breaths of the men who were concerned for Ruhanika. Finally, Ashvik, unable to bear the quiet any longer, broke the silence.
Ashvik: "Ye achanak kaise hua??"
(How did this happen all of a sudden?)
Rishwik: "Meri galti hai, maine hi dhyan nahi rakha."
(Itâs my fault. I wasnât paying attention.)
Rishwik spoke up, his eyes filled with guilt. Ashvik chose not to pursue the matter any further, sensing the weight of the moment. Meanwhile, Rudraksh leaned quietly against the door.
Kartavya: "Koi mujhe batayega yaha ho kya raha hai??"
(Will someone tell me what is going on here?)
Amandeep: "Kartavya Sir, she's Ruhanika, Rudraksh Sir's wife."
(Kartavya sir, sheâs Ruhanika, Rudraksh sirâs wife.)
Kartavya: "Forced wife, zabardasti shadi ki thi isne usse. Ab batao yaha kya chal raha hai."
(Forced wife. He married her forcefully. Now explain whatâs happening here.)
Before anyone could utter a word, the door swung open, and Rudraksh instantly turned his attention to the doctor who had just entered. A hush fell over the group as they awaited the doctorâs news, their hearts pounding with anticipation and concern. Rudraksh's expression shifted to one of intense focus, eager for any information regarding Ruhanika's condition.
Rudraksh: "Doctor, vo Ruh kaisi hai??"
(Doctor, how is Ruh?)
Doctor: "Iâve already told you, Mr. Malhotra, not to do or say anything that would trigger her trauma. And thatâs exactly what happened. She was making progress over the past few days, but now sheâs had a panic attack, and I fear she might try to harm herself."
Rudraksh: "Nooo!"
Doctor: "Iâm sorry, Mr. Malhotra, but thereâs a possibility. For now, Iâve given her an injection, and sheâs sleeping. But make sure sheâs not left alone. She may forget this incident, which would be the best outcome for her. Such incidents can lead to depression and nightmares."
For the first time in years, Rudraksh felt a profound fear of losing someone he deeply cared about. The unsettling thought gripped his heart as he entered the room, his pulse quickening at the sight of Ruhanika sleeping peacefully. She looked so vulnerable, like a delicate porcelain doll, and he instinctively approached her with utmost gentleness. He settled down beside her, taking her small hand in his, cradling it with care as if it might shatter at any moment. As he caressed her hair softly, his heart ached at the sight of her tranquility amidst the turmoil. Leaning down, he placed a tender kiss on her forehead, wishing to convey all the care and protection he felt for her.
Rudraksh: "Sorry betu, main tumhe chod ke nahi jata toh aisa nahi hota na. I promise ab aisa nahi hoga."
(Sorry, betu. If I hadnât left you, this wouldnât have happened. I promise this wonât happen again.)
Rudraksh continued to gently caress Ruhanika's head, his touch soothing and tender. But just outside the door, Kartavya stood frozen in disbelief, witnessing something that shattered his previous perceptions. The notorious "Leo," the feared mafia king known for his ruthless demeanor and unyielding arrogance, was now a picture of vulnerability. Never one to apologize, especially not to anyone outside his close circle, here he was, silently seeking forgiveness from his wife for circumstances beyond her control. Kartavyaâs heart raced as he processed the scene before him; the juxtaposition of Leo's hardened exterior with the raw emotion he was displaying was shocking.
Kartavya: "Rudraksh, We need to talk."
Kartavya spoke up in a no-nonsense tone, clearly frustrated by the confusion swirling around him. He had already felt overwhelmed by the unexpected events, and seeing this softer side of Rudraksh was only complicating things further. Rudraksh glanced at him.
Rudraksh: "Rishwik, Ruhhh ke sath reh main abhi aaya."
(Rishwik, stay with Ruh. Iâll be right back.)
Rishwik settled himself beside Ruhanika, holding her hands gently in his own, trying to provide her with the comfort and support she desperately needed. Ashvik perched at the foot of the bed, his expression filled with concern as he kept a watchful eye on his sister. Even Amandeep, who typically preferred to keep his distance in emotional situations, refused to leave the room, feeling the weight of the moment hanging heavy in the air. Sensing the need for a private conversation, Rudraksh led Kartavya to the adjacent room where Ruhanika had been staying after their marriage. The atmosphere was thick with unspoken emotions, and Rudraksh hoped to clarify things with Kartavya away from the heavy tension in the room. As they entered, he took a deep breath, preparing to address the whirlwind of feelings that had overtaken them all.
Kartavya: "What is all this nonsense, Rudraksh? Did you marry that girl just to take revenge on me? Shakal dekhi hai uski, shakal se hi itni masoom hai aur tune use kya samjha??"
(Have you seen her face? Sheâs so innocent, and what did you take her for?)
Rudraksh: "Janta hu bhai maine jo kiya vo sahi nahi tha. Par jab aap ne kaha ki Vijaypratapâs daughter tried to create a rift between you and Savisha bhabhi by making false accusations, I was so furious that..."
(I know, bhai. What I did wasnât right. But when you said that Vijaypratapâs daughter tried to create a rift between you and Savisha bhabhi by making false accusations, I was so furious that...)
Kartavya cut him off, his frustration evident.
Kartavya: "Isiliye nahi bata raha tha main tujhe kuch. Aise impulsive hoke decisions lega toh kaise chalega Rudraksh??"
(Thatâs exactly why I didnât tell you anything! How can you make such impulsive decisions, Rudraksh?)
Rudraksh: "Bhai us ladki ka jo bhi naam hai uska, uske bhai ne, us Sachet Rathore ne Kritika ko cheat kiya, what else do you expect from me to do with them??"
(Bhai, whatever that girlâs name is, her brother Sachet Rathore betrayed Kritika. What else was I supposed to do with them?)
Kartavya: "Kritika isnât so weak that she needs someoneâs help to solve her problems, Rudraksh. My sister, Kritika Khurana, is a strong, independent woman."
Rudraksh: "Still, Iâll do anything to protect our sister and family."
Kartavya: "Rudraksh bhul mat tera maksad kya hai, tujhe koi aur problem na ho isiliye main nahi bata raha tha tujhe kuch. Sachet Rathore and her sister Mahira Rathore both are under custody in London and we have taken legal actions against them."
(Rudraksh, donât forget what your purpose is. I didnât tell you anything because I didnât want you to face any additional problems. Sachet Rathore and his sister, Mahira Rathore, are both in custody in London, and we have taken legal action against them.)
Rudraksh: "And you didnât think it was important to inform me about this? Donât you consider me worthy enough to know, bhai?"
Kartavya: "Tere gusse ki vajah se nahi bataya Rudraksh, main nahi chahta tha tu meri problems me involve ho. You already have a lot in your plate."
(Thatâs why I didnât tell you anythingâI didnât want you to get involved in my problems. You already have enough on your plate.)
Rudraksh: "Aapki problems sirf aapki kabse ho gayi bhai?? Meri problems me humesha mere sath khade rehte ho aap, aur meri baari aayi toh kuch bataya bhi nahi. Bahar se pata chal raha hai mujhe sab."
(Since when have your problems become just your problems, bhai? You always stand by me in my troubles, but when it was my turn, you didnât even inform me. I had to find out everything from outside.)
Kartavya: "Iska matlab ye toh nahi hai na Rudraksh ki tu kisi se bhi zabardasti shadi kar lega?? Uski zindagi barbad karega??? Bol"
(That doesnât mean you can force someone into marriage and ruin her life! What were you thinking?)
Rudraksh turned away, his back now facing Kartavya.
Rudraksh: "Aisa nahi hai bhai."
(Itâs not like that, bhai.)
Kartavya: "Aisa nahi vo main samajh gaya jis tarah se tu us ladki ki parwah kar raha tha, par phir kaisa hai vo Janna chahta hu."
(I saw how much you care about that girl, but still, I want to understand the situation.)
Rudraksh: "Ha bhai maine Vijaypratap ko Dara dhamka ke, Ruhh se zabardasti shadi ki thi, par vo masoom ladki itna bhi nahi janti ki ye jabardasti ki shadi hai. Us din meri jagah koi bhi hota toh vo shadi kar leti."
(Yes, bhai. I forced Vijaypratap into agreeing, and yes, I forcefully married Ruh. But that innocent girl doesnât even know that this was a forced marriage. Anyone in my place would have married her that day.)
Kartavya: "Matlab kya hai Tera?? Aur ye zabardasti ki shadi me bhi use kitna bharosa hai tujhpe, dekha maine kaise tere pass bhaagi chali gayi. Hai kon ye ladki."
(What do you mean? And in this so-called forced marriage, she trusts you so muchâI saw how she ran straight to you. Who is this girl?)
Rudraksh: "Ruhanika naam hai Ruhh ka bhai."
(Her name is Ruhanika, bhai.)
Kartavya: "And who is she?"
Rudraksh: "Ruhanika Rajpurohit, Princess of Jaisalmer."
Kartavya: "Princess??"
Rudraksh began to recount the entire story, his voice low and heavy with the weight of the past. He told Kartavya about Ruhanika's parents, once a king and queen, whose lives had tragically ended in an accident, leaving her vulnerable and alone. He explained how Vijaypratap, the man responsible for much of her suffering, had held her captive for most of her life, using her as a pawn in his twisted schemes. She grew up in fear and loneliness, unable to experience the love or freedom she deserved. The horrors she endured under Vijaypratapâs control left deep emotional scars, and she had not spoken a word for three long years. Rudraksh continued, his voice heavy with emotion, as he explained how he had once asked Ruhanika to return to her familyâs estate and she met Jayvardhan. He then shared the most disturbing part of her storyâhow Jayvardhan, a man who was supposed to marry Ruhanika, turned out to be a vile person who tried to molest her, which was too much for her fragile soul to bear, and it had taken her even further into her shell, leaving her haunted by the memories of that horrific incident. As Rudraksh shared every detail, from the heartbreaking beginning to the events of today, including how Ruhanika had slowly begun to trust and accept Rishwik, Ashvik, and Amandeep into her life, Kartavya sat in stunned silence. Kartavya stood frozen, the gravity of Rudrakshâs words sinking deeper into his chest. He could hardly believe the horror Ruhanika had lived through, trapped in her own world of fear. It was hard to reconcile the picture of the broken, fearful girl Rudraksh was describing with the bright, smiling woman who had slowly started to find a family in the Malhotra brothers.
Kartavya: "Sheâs only 21, and sheâs endured all this?"
Rudraksh: "Not just this, bhai. Thereâs something deeper, something that her grandmother told me. Thatâs the real reason behind her condition."
Kartavya: "Her grandmother? How? Isnât she dead?"
Rudraksh: "Through a letter."
Kartavya felt a wave of confusion wash over him. Meanwhile, Rudraksh moved toward the cupboard and returned with an envelope in his hand. He extended it toward Kartavya, offering it with a serious expression.
Rudraksh: "This letter from her grandmother."
Kartavya: "How did you get it?"
Rudraksh: "It was in Ruhâs belongings. Just read it."
Kartavya opened the envelope, his heart pounding with anticipation, and began reading the letter inside. As he absorbed the words, a mixture of emotions flooded through himâcuriosity, concern, and a growing understanding of the complexities surrounding Ruhanika and her past.
"Dear Ruhanika's Husband,
I know I will not be in this world when she gets married, as I am aware that my own son, Vijaypratap, is trying to kill me. I am helpless due to my age and physical limitations. However, I have faith in God, and I believe that if my prayers and worship were sincere, He will bless my granddaughter with a loving and kind husband. If you are reading this, I am confident that my Ruhii is in safe hands. Please give her all the happiness she deserves. She has been denied so much in life, especially by my cruel son and daughter-in-law, who have even taken away the last remaining possessions of her parents. All she has left is a pendant, and not even a single photo. She doesn't remember their faces.
Ruhanika was only five years old when they died in a car accident. Life has been so harsh to herâshe was in the car with them. Her parents managed to save her, but they couldn't save themselves. That poor child witnessed her parents burn in front of her own eyes. Since then, she has been terrified of fire, although she doesn't remember much about that tragic incident, as she was unconscious for three days afterward. We found her in the hospital. She does, however, get nightmares from time to time.
I lost my husband, daughter, and son-in-law within a few days, and I was left alone with a 5-year-old Ruhanika. With no other option, I had to seek shelter at my son Vijaypratap's house, which he allowed on the condition that Rathore Industries would belong to him. I agreed, but little did he know that my husband and daughter had already transferred everything into Ruhanika's name. This is why he and his wife are waiting for her to turn 22, so they can claim the property and kill her. But I trust in God to save my Ruhi, and the fact that you are reading this letter is proof of His protection.
I know that I taught her many misguided things, such as telling her that her husband has the right to see and touch her, and that she should never refuse him or disagree with whatever he says. But at that time, it felt necessary. Ruhii is so innocent and naïve that not only was the outside world taking advantage of her, but even the people she was living with were exploiting her. They didn't just physically abuse her; they mentally tortured her to such an extent that one day, that poor innocent soul tried to take her own life. But instead of letting her die, they saved her, only to intensify their torment. Infact, her cousin brother, Sachet Rathore, Vijaypratap's son, I'm ashamed to call him my grandson because he.. he tried to molest an 15 year old Ruhanika, who doesn't even know the difference between good and bad touch. Since then, I have raised her with the belief that "Ek din ek Rajkumar aayega Jo use is narkh se le jayega aur khoob saara pyaara karega, bilkul ek Rajkumari ki tarah rakhega." Ever since, she has lived with the hope that her husband will love and care for her. There are still some things she hides from me, but please, my son, I beg you to give my Ruhi the life she deserves and help her believe in life again. My once cheerful and mischievous Ruhii is now a living corpse; please give her life, son. I am leaving this world with my trust in you and in God, believing that my Ruhii will be safe. Take care of her. She believes she belongs to only one personâher husbandâand she has blind faith in you. Please donât break her trust. Meri bachchi Tut jayegi agar aisa kuch hua toh, jee nahi payegi vo beta, khayal rakhna uska."
(one day a prince will come who will take her away from this suffering and love her dearly, treating her like a true princess.)
(My little girl will shatter if something happens to you; she wonât be able to live, my dear. Please take care of her.)
As Kartavya continued reading the letter, he felt his eyes begin to moisten, overwhelmed by the depth of Ruhanika's struggles and the pain she had endured. Rudraksh, already emotional as he reflected on the contents of the letter, felt his own eyes welling up with tears. The weight of Ruhanika's suffering and her current condition hung heavy in the air. Realizing the gravity of their shared understanding, both men sank onto the bed, the silence between them filled with unspoken empathy and a newfound determination to protect Ruhanika.
Rudraksh: "Mera phool andar se kitna murjhaya hai bhai, main kaise use phir khila du, kaise usme jaan daalu??"
(My flower is withering from the inside, brother. How do I make it bloom again? How do I breathe life into it?)
Kartavya felt utterly tongue-tied, struggling to comprehend the reality before him. The innocent girl lying on the bed, trembling at something as trivial as a scene on television, had been deeply scarred by her past. His own shouting had only added to her fear, and now, as he learned the truth of her experiences, he found it nearly impossible to fathom the extent of the pain she must have endured. Each detail that had been revealed felt like a heavy weight on his heart, forcing him to confront the harshness of her reality and his own insensitivity. The realization struck him hard, leaving him grappling with guilt and a newfound resolve to protect her from any further suffering.
Rudraksh: "Aap jante hai, bilkul bachchi hai vo, kuch bhi nahi pata hai use, na is duniya ke bare me na logo ki niyat ke baare me. Na jaane kaise itne saal usne khudko sambhala hoga akele. Mujhse kehti hai ki uski sunne wala koi nahi tha, aur ab mujhse apne dil ki sari baatein batati hai, bas apna dard nahi bata pati hai. Itni masoom hai na bhai man karta hai bas kahi chupa ke rakh lu. Ekdum kanch ki gudiya hai, zara si kharoch bhi aayi toh bikhar jayegi, main kaise sambhalunga use."
(You know, sheâs just like a childâcompletely unaware of the world and the intentions of people. I wonder how she managed to survive all these years alone. She tells me that no one was there to listen to her, and now she shares everything with meâeverything except her pain. Sheâs so innocent, brother, that I just feel like hiding her somewhere, protecting her. Sheâs like a delicate glass doll, and a single scratch could shatter her. How will I take care of her?)
A solitary tear slipped down Rudraksh's cheek as he relived the emotions the letter had stirred within him. He had read those words the very next day after he had confronted Jayvardhan, a moment etched in his mind, yet he had chosen to keep the details to himself. The burden of knowledge weighed heavily on him, but he had felt it necessary to protect Ruhanika and shield others from the truth. Noticing Rudraksh's distress, Kartavya placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, offering silent support.
Kartavya: "mujhe keh raha hai maine kuch nahi bataya, itna sab kuch apne andar dabaye baitha hai, uska kya?? Bata nahi sakta tha, janta hai bas tere ek call pe chala aata main."
(Youâre saying I didnât tell you anything, but youâve bottled up so much yourself. What about that? You couldnât tell me? You know, I wouldâve come running at just one call.)
Rudraksh: "Janta hu, par Savisha Bhabhi ko zarurat thi aapki. Janta hu tabiyat kharab thi unki."
(I know, but Savisha Bhabhi needed you. I knew she wasnât well.)
Kartavya: "Isha thik hai ab. Tu bata tune kya socha hai?? Aur rishwik itna sab janne ke baad bhi chup hai?? Kaise?? Maine dekha vo kitna manta hai us ladki ko aur...."
(Ishaâs fine now. But tell me, what have you planned? And even after knowing everything, why is Rishwik still silent? How is that possible? Iâve seen how much he cares about that girl, andâ¦)
Rudraksh quickly interrupted Kartavya. Kartavya smiled at his younger brother, feeling a sense of admiration for Rudrakshâs concern.
Rudraksh: "Bhai Ruhanika naam hai Ruh ka, Ruhanika bolo."
(Brother, her name is Ruhanika. Say Ruhanika.)
Kartavya smiled at Rudraksh, a warm expression that conveyed both understanding and pride.
Kartavya: "Okay, Ruhanika. Par Rishwik kaise shant hai ab tak??"
(Okay, Ruhanika. But how is Rishwik still calm after all this?)
Rudraksh: "Maine hi mana kiya hai use, aur is letter me jo likha hai vo kisi ko nahi pata sivay aapke. Rishwik ko jante hai aap, gusse me na jaane kya kar de isiliye nahi bataya use."
(Iâm the one who stopped him. And whatâs written in that letter, no one knows except you. You know how Rishwik isâwho knows what he might do in his anger? Thatâs why I havenât told him.)
Kartavya: "Janta hu, tera hi bhai hai tujhse alag kaise ho sakta hai."
(I get it. Heâs your brother after all; how could he be any different from you?)
Rudraksh: "Bhai, bas ek request hai"
(Brother, I just have one request.)
Kartavya: "Ek thappad padega na sari akkal thikane aa jaye, sidha bol kya chahiye aaya bada request karne wala."
(Youâre about to get slapped, if youâre making requests? Just say what you want already.)
Rudraksh stood up, his eyes blazing with rage, the emotions he'd been holding back now bubbling to the surface. Kartavya looked at him, immediately grasping the depth of his anger and the intensity of his feelings. It was clear that Rudraksh was not just furious about the present situation, but also about the injustices Ruhanika had faced. The atmosphere shifted as Rudrakshâs determination turned into a fierce resolve.
Rudraksh: "Bhai, I want Sachet Rathore. I know heâs Kritikaâs culprit, but I want to deal with him in my own way. He will have to bear the consequences for what he did to my wife and sister."
Kartavya: "Bahaut pyaar karne laga hai na apni Ruhh se??"
(Youâve really started to love your Ruh, havenât you?)
Rudrakshâs eyes softened at the mention of Ruhanika, the fury within him momentarily replaced by tenderness. He averted his gaze from Kartavya, feeling a mix of vulnerability and shyness washed over him. Seeing the shift in Rudraksh's demeanor, Kartavya smiled at him, recognizing the profound love and concern that lay beneath the surface.
Kartavya: "Ohh toh finally Rudra ko shant karne wali Shakti aa hi gayi."
(Oh, so finally the force that can calm Rudra has arrived.)
Rudraksh: "Ais..a aisa ku..kuch nahi hai bhai. Bas pa..parwah hai mujhe uski. Zimmedari hai vo meri."
(N-no, itâs not like that, brother. I just⦠I care about her. Sheâs my responsibility.)
Kartavya: "Sirf zimmedari ke liye kisi ke aakhon se aasu nahi behte Mr. Rudraksh Malhotra. Vo bhi us insaan ki aakhon se jiski ankh ke aasu saalon pehle sukh chuke ho."
(Tears donât fall from someoneâs eyes just because of responsibility, Mr. Rudraksh Malhotra. Especially from someone whose tears dried up years ago.)
Rudraksh glanced around the room, his eyes darting from one corner to another as he attempted to push back against Kartavyaâs understanding. He wanted to disagree, to maintain a facade of strength and detachment, but inside, his heart was shouting a different story.
Kartavya: "Khair jaane de, ye bata Vijaypratap jise dundh raha hai use tu bhi dundh hi Raha hoga, mila kuch???"
(Anyway, let that be. Tell me, this Vijaypratap youâre looking for, have you found anything?)
Rudraksh: "Main janta hu vo kise dundh raha hai, aur jaldi hi main us tak pohch bhi jaunga, Ashvik ko bhi bol diya h ki abhi Vijaypratap ki company ko kuch na kare, kyuki ab vo hoga jo usne kabhi sapne me bhi nahi socha hoga."
(I know who heâs looking for, and Iâll reach him soon. Iâve also told Ashvik to hold off on doing anything to Vijaypratapâs company because soon something will happen that he couldnât even have imagined.)
Kartavya: "Kya matlab hai tera?? Kya socha hai??"
(What do you mean? What are you planning?)
Rudraksh: "Bhai voo...."
Rudraksh was suddenly interrupted by Rishwik, who came running toward him with urgency.
Rishwik: "Bhai, bhai vo Angel ko hosh aa raha hai. We don't know use kuch yaad hai ya nahi, vo kaisa react karegi."
(Brother, brother, Angel is waking up. We donât know if she remembers anything or how sheâll react.)
Rudraksh quickly dashed to his room, with Kartavya and Rishwik closely behind him. As he entered, he went straight to Ruhanika, sitting beside her with a sense of urgency. He gently took her hand in his, his fingers intertwining with hers as he caressed her head softly.
Rudraksh: "Betu???"
Ruhanika slowly opened her eyes, still feeling a bit dizzy from her recent unconsciousness. As her gaze shifted to Rudraksh and then around the room, she furrowed her brows in confusion. Rudraksh's heart raced, bracing himself for her reaction as he studied her expression. She attempted to sit up, and instinctively, Rudraksh moved closer to her, gently helping her into a seated position on the bed.
Rudraksh: "Araam se jaana."
(Slowly sweetheart)
Ruhanika: "Arehh hum kaha jaye?? Aap humesha hume jaane ko kehte hai par hum jaye kaha?? Niche?? Par kyu?"
(Where should I go? You always tell me to go somewhere, but where should I go? Downstairs? But why?)
Rudraksh simply looked at her, his face a blank canvas devoid of any expression.
Ruhanika: "aur ye hum is waqt so kyu rahe hai?? Kya samay hua hai??"
(And why are we sleeping at this time? What time is it?)
Rudraksh let out a sigh of relief upon realizing that Ruhanika didnât remember anything from the chaos earlier. It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted from the room, allowing everyone to breathe easier. The tension that had filled the air moments ago dissipated, and the pounding hearts of those present began to settle into a more normal rhythm. Ruhanika glanced over at Rishwik.
Ruhanika: "Rishi Bhai, hum aur aap toh niche TV dekh rahe the na??"
(Rishi Bhai, werenât we watching TV downstairs?)
Rishwik: "Haa Angel, par phir tum thak gayi aur so gayi."
(Yes, Angel, but then you got tired and fell asleep.)
Ruhanika: "Achcha??"
(Oh, really?)
Ruhanika felt a wave of confusion wash over her, but she quickly shrugged it off, choosing to focus on the warmth of the moment. Turning her gaze to Ashvik and Amandeep, she smiled.
Ruhanika: "Ashu bhai, Aman bhaiya, aap jante hai vo jo movie Rishi Bhai dikha rahe the hume vo bahaut achchi hai. Agli baar na hum sab sath me dekhenge, khoob mazaa aayega."
(Ashu Bhai, Aman Bhaiya, you know, that movie Rishi Bhai was showing me was really good. Next time, weâll all watch it togetherâitâll be so much fun.)
Ashvik: "Jaisa tum kaho teddy."
(Whatever you say, Teddy.)
Ruhanika grinned.
Ruhanika: "Aman bhaiya, aap bhi toh jawab dijiye."
(Aman Bhaiya, you should respond too.)
Amandeep: "Maine toh bola hi hai na Ruhii, tumhari har baat manunga."
(Iâve already said, Ruhi, Iâll agree to whatever you want.)
Ruhanika smiled and nodded at her brothers, while Rudraksh gazed at her with an expression of deep affection. However, her eyes then shifted to Kartavya, who had been standing at the door behind Rishwik. As he stepped forward, Ruhanika felt a flicker of fear at the sight of an unfamiliar face in the house. Instinctively, she clutched Rudraksh's hand tightly, seeking comfort and security, and shifted closer to him.
Ruhanika: "y..ye kon hai??"
(W-whoâs he?)
Rudraksh glanced at Kartavya, gauging his reaction, before turning his attention back to Ruhanika. He gently caressed her cheeks, his touch soft and soothing,to ease her anxiety. His fingers brushed against her skin as he spoke in a calm voice, reassuring her that everything was alright.
Rudraksh: "Betu, ye mere bade bhai hai Kartavya bhai. London me rehte hai aaj hi aaye hai humse Milne."
(Betu, thatâs my elder brother, Kartavya Bhai. He lives in London and came to meet us today.)
Ruhanika turned her gaze back to Kartavya, her curiosity still piqued. He met her look with a warm smile, one that radiated kindness and understanding.
Rudraksh: "Daro mat tum vo kuch nahi karenge, bhai bahaut achche hai."
(Donât be scared. He wonât do anything. Brother is very nice.)
Rudraksh continued to soothe Ruhanika with gentle words, his voice a soft cocoon around her. In a gesture of respect and humility, Ruhanika then joined her hands in front of Kartavya and lowered her head slightly.
Ruhanika: "Pranaam, inke bade bhai."
(Greetings, his elder brother.)
Kartavya couldn't help but smile at Ruhanika's sweet voice and her adorable gesture. Her innocent display of respect and vulnerability touched him deeply, and he felt a sense of warmth spreading through him.
Kartavya: "Hello Ruhii"
Rudraksh shot a glance at Kartavya, a flicker of irritation crossing his features. Why does everyone want to call his wife by a nickname? he thought, feeling a possessive instinct rise within him. Kartavya caught the look and smirked, amused by Rudraksh's protective nature. As Ruhanika prepared to step down from the bed, Rudraksh quickly reached out, gently holding her hand to stop her.
Rudraksh: "Kaha chali tumhari sawari??"
(Whereâs the vehicle off to now?)
Ruhanika: "Humari sawari?? Humare pass koi sawari nahi hai."
(Ride? I donât have any vehicles.)
Rudraksh: "Mera matlab kaha ja Rahi hai aap Rajkumari ji??"
(I meant, where are you going, princess?)
Ruhanika let out a light giggle, the sound like a gentle breeze that filled the room with warmth and joy. It instantly brought a smile to Rudraksh's face, his heart softening at her reaction. However, Kartavya's expression shifted from amusement to shock.
Kartavya: "Ye devil muskurane kab se laga??"
(Since when did this devil start smiling?)
Kartavya leaned in closer to Rishwik, Ashvik, and Amandeep, muttering quietly.
Rishwik: "Jab se Devil ki life Angel aayi hai."
(Ever since the devilâs life gained an Angel.)
Ashvik: Y"e kuch nahi hai bhai, aap rukiye abhi toh ye hasta bhi hai."
(This is nothing, brother. Just wait, he even laughs now.)
Kartavya: "mujhe sare shock ek sath mat do tum log."
(Donât give me all the shocks at once.)
They all giggled softly.
Ruhanika: "Vo aapke bade bhai hai na, toh hume unhe Pani, chai nashta dena chahiye na usi liye niche ja rahe hai."
(Heâs your elder brother, right? So we should offer him water, tea, snacks, right? Thatâs why Iâm going downstairs.)
Rudraksh: "Koi zarurat nahi hai. Bhai ko kuch nahi chahiye, vaise bhi unhe sab khud karna pasand hai. Tum araam Karo bas abhi."
(No need. Brother doesnât need anything, and he prefers doing everything himself anyway. You just rest for now.)
Kartavya: "Nalayak insaan, biwi ke aate hi palat Gaya. Pani tak nahi pucha mujhe."
(This useless man! The moment his wife shows up, he change completely. he didnât even offer me water.)
Rishwik: "Aap jaise aaye ho na bhai, main toh aapko muh Tak nahi lagata."
(The way youâve shown up, brother, I wouldnât even bother talking to you.)
Kartavya: "Tere muh lagega bhi kon, I have a beautiful wife for that."
(Who would want to talk to you? I have a beautiful wife for that.)
Rishwik: "Chiiii ghatiya aadmi, besham insaan bachche ke samne kya bol rahe ho?"
(Ugh, disgusting! What are you even saying in front of a kid?)
Ashvik: "Sabse pehle tu bachcha bolna band kar khudko, harkatein dekh apni."
(First of all, stop calling yourself a kid. Look at your behavior.)
Amandeep: "Aur aap sab khusur phusar band kijiye aur Sir ko dekhiye."
(And all of you, stop whispering and pay attention to Sir.)
Kartavya, Ashvik, and Rishwik exchanged glances, their amusement fading as they noticed Rudraksh and Ruhanika watching them intently. Ruhanikaâs expression was one of confusion, her brow slightly furrowed as she tried to understand the dynamics in the room. In contrast, Rudraksh wore an irritated look.
Kartavya: "Kyaaa??"
(What?)
Rudraksh: "Go down, I'm coming."
Rishwik: "I'm not going anywhere, main Angel ke sath rahunga, vo akeli bore ho jayegi."
(Iâm not going anywhere. Iâll stay with Angel; sheâll get bored alone.)
Ruhanika: "Nahi Rishi Bhai, ye hai na humare sath, hum inke sath bore nahi hote."
(No, Rishi Bhai, heâs here with me. I never get bored with him.)
Rudraksh smirked, meanwhile, the others struggled to suppress their giggles, trying to maintain a semblance of seriousness in the moment. Rishwik, however, was sulking in the corner, his pout making it clear that he felt left out.
Kartavya: "Eh theek hi chal raha hai ithhe, tere naal taan ehhi hona chahida si. Chal, thalle chal ke dasda haan tainu."
(Everything seems fine here. This is what should have happened to you anyway. Come on, letâs go downstairs. Iâll tell you there.)
Rishwik shot a glare at Kartavya, annoyance etched across his face.
Rishwik: "Haan, jinnu vekho bas mere piche hi paya rehnda hai."
(Yeah, everyone just keeps pestering me.)
Rudraksh fixed them all with a sharp glare, his expression brooding and intense.
Rudraksh: "Jao tusi sare, mera kamra hai eh, tuhade loka da conference room nahi!"
(All of you, go! This is my room, not your conference hall!)
They all cast one last glance at Rudraksh and Ruhanika before quietly exiting the room, leaving behind a palpable silence. Rudrakshâs gaze lingered on Ruhanika, who offered him a faint smile, a mix of warmth and melancholy. In response, a sad smile crept onto Rudraksh's face, reflecting his concern and affection for her. With gentle resolve, he stretched out his arms toward her, silently beckoning her to come closer.
Ruhanika: "Jii??"
(What?)
Rudraksh: "Mujhse apna dard chupane ki zarurat nahi Sohneyo, janta hu sab yaad hai tumhe."
(Thereâs no need to hide your pain from me, sweetheart. I know you remember everything.)
Rudraksh's voice was soft yet filled with sincerity as he spoke, and the moment his words left his lips, Ruhanika's composure faltered. Her lips wobbled as a rush of emotions overwhelmed her, and tears welled up in her eyes. Before she could contain herself, she threw herself onto Rudraksh, burying her face into his chest as sobs wracked her small frame. He instantly wrapped his arms tightly around her, holding her close as he rubbed her back soothingly. The warmth of his embrace enveloped her like a protective cocoon, and he could feel his shirt dampening with her tears, each drop a testament to the pain she had endured.
Rudraksh: "Shhh bas bas, main hu na Ruh tumhare pass?? Phir kyu Darr gayi itna?? Kuch nahi hoga ab, koi kuch nahi karega."
(Shh, itâs okay. Iâm here with you, right? Then why were you so scared? Nothingâs going to happen now. No one will do anything.)
Ruhanika: "hu..m jaan..te hai ki aap hai hum..are sath, ku..ch nahi hoga h..ume, par hum..are baar baar pura..ni baa..tein yaad aa jati hai aur h..um da...rrr jate hai."
(I-I know youâre w-with me, nothing w-will happen to me. But I-I keep remembering t-those old things, and I g-get so scared.)
Rudraksh continued to caress her head, his fingers weaving through her hair as he whispered comforting words. After a moment, he gently pulled her back to look into her eyes, cupping her cheeks with both hands.
Rudraksh: "Janta hu betu, par dekho ab tum us ghar me nahi ho, bhulne ki koshish karo sab kuch, please."
(I know, sweetheart. But look, youâre not in that house anymore. Try to forget everything, please.)
Ruhanika: "Hum na sach keh rahe hai, hum bahaut koshish karte hai."
( I swear, I try really hard.)
Ruhanika instinctively pinched her neck.
Ruhanika: "Par hume yaha bahaut dard hota hai."
(But it hurts so much here.)
Ruhanika pointed toward her heart, her eyes reflecting a mix of vulnerability and fear.
Ruhanika: "Aisa lagta hai andar kuch hume jakad raha hai, saans bhi nahi aati hai hume. Itni takleef hoti hai ki kuch keh bhi nahi paate. Aur bilkul akele the hum."
( It feels like something is gripping me from inside. I canât even breathe. It hurts so much I canât even speak. And I was completely alone.)
Rudraksh quickly pulled Ruhanika into a tight embrace, not wanting her to see the tears welling up in his eyes or the anger that simmered just beneath the surface. Holding her close, he closed his eyes, allowing the warmth of her soft breaths against his chest to soothe him, grounding him in the moment. They remained in each otherâs arms for several minutes, finding solace in the shared silence, the world outside forgotten. When he finally pulled back, he cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs gently caressing her cheeks.
Rudraksh: "Ab meri baat dhyaan se sunna."
(Now listen to me carefully.)
Ruhanika nodded.
Rudraksh: "Sabse pehle ye jo aaj tum niswartha ki devi bani thi..."
(First of all, you played the selfless saint todayâ¦)
Ruhanika: "Ye konsi Devi?? Humne toh kabhi nahi suna"
(Which saint? Iâve never heard of her.)
Rudraksh: "Offo, har baat me sawaal kaha se le aati ho tum yaar."
(Ugh, where do you come up with these questions?)
Ruhanika: "Matlab sawaal nahi kare??"
(So I shouldnât ask questions?)
Rudraksh: "Ruuhhhh sunogi meri baat??"
(Ruuhhh, will you listen to me?)
Ruhanika nodded.
Rudraksh: "Dobara kabhi ye mat karna ki apna dard apne andar hi chupa ke rakhi taaki sab log khush rahe. Tumhe jaisa bhi mehsus hota hai tum mujhe bataogi humesha samjhi??? Main hu na ab tumhare betu, phir kyu kiya aisa."
(Donât ever do that againâbottling up your pain just to keep everyone happy. No matter how you feel, youâll always tell me, understood? Iâm here with you now. So why did you do that?)
Rudraksh's voice dropped to a whisper, filled with a gentleness that wrapped around Ruhanika like a warm blanket. The softness in his tone stirred something within her, and despite the heaviness in her heart, an involuntary smile tugged at her lips. She lowered her head, a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks, and nodded slowly, her eyes shimmering with gratitude and trust.
Ruhanika: "Maaf kar dijiyega, dobara aisa nahi karenge hum."
(Iâm sorry. I wonât do it again.)
Rudraksh: "Good, aur sirf araam karogi tum."
(Good, and youâre just going to rest now.)
Rudrakshâs tone shifted to a strictness that caught Ruhanika off guard, causing her to pout adorably.
Ruhanika: "Aap gussa hai kya humse?? Humne jhuth bola toh???"
(Are you mad at me for lying?)
Rudraksh: "Tusi nahi jandi betu, tainu te gussa hona mere bas di gall hi nahi hun sohneyo."
(You donât know, sweetheart. Getting mad at you isnât something I can do anymore.)
Ruhanika: "Jiii??"
(What?)
Rudraksh: "Nahi gussa nahi hu betu, tum araam Karo na yellow please."
(No, Iâm not mad. Just rest, please.)
Ruhanika: "Nahi nahi hum thik hai, aapke bade bhai aaye hai, vo kya sochenge ki hum kuch karte hi nahi hai."
(No, no, Iâm fine. Your elder brother is here. What will he think if I donât do anything?)
Rudraksh: "Bhai kya sochenge ye bhi tum sochogi toh bhai kya sochenge?"
(If you start worrying about what my brother will think, then what will my brother think?)
Ruhanika's expression morphed into one of genuine confusion, her brows furrowing as she tried to decipher Rudraksh's words. It was a look that was both endearing and comical, prompting a soft chuckle to escape from Rudraksh.
Ruhanika: "Aap kya kehte hai hume samajh hi nahi aata hai."
(I donât understand what youâre saying.)
Rudraksh: "Zarurat bhi nahi hai, aaj bahaut dimaag chala liya hai tumne ab thoda araam do use, chalo let jao."
( You donât need to. Youâve used your brain enough for today; give it some rest. Now lie down.)
Rudraksh gently guided Ruhanika to lie back on the bed, as she settled in, he pulled the duvet over her, tucking it snugly around her to ensure she felt warm.
Ruhanika: "Par aapke bade bhai v..."
(But your elder broâ¦)
Rudraksh: "Kartavya bhai, kuch nahi bolenge yaar, tum so Rahi ho ya main jau??"
(Kartavya Bhai wonât say anything. Are you sleeping or should I leave?)
Ruhanika: "Nahi nahi hum so rahe hai dekhiye hum so hi Gaye hai. Ekdum gehri nind me hai."
(No, no, Iâm sleeping. See, Iâm already asleep. In a deep sleep.)
Ruhanika closed her eyes.
Rudraksh: "toh bol kon Raha hai??"
(Then whoâs talking?)
She peeked open one eye to catch a glimpse of Rudraksh, and a playful smile spread across her face. The moment their eyes met, they both burst into soft giggles, the lightness of the moment lifting the weight that had lingered before.
Rudraksh: "Nautanki, chalo so jao, main yahi hu chinta mat karo."
(Drama queen, now sleep, I'm here only, don't worry)
Ruhanika nodded softly, her eyelids fluttering as she closed her eyes, surrendering to the calming sensation. Rudraksh settled beside her, gently running his fingers through her hair, each stroke soothing her troubled mind. It wasn't long before her features softened, the tension easing away as she slipped into a peaceful slumber, the effects of the injection taking hold. Watching her, Rudraksh felt a surge of love wash over him. He leaned down and pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, lingering for several seconds, wishing to impart warmth and comfort through that small gesture. After ensuring she was tucked snugly under the duvet, he stood up, taking one last look at her serene face. Quietly, he left the room, but not before closing the door only halfway. He wanted to remain alert, ready to be by her side the moment she woke up.
