As Rudraksh descended the stairs, each step reverberated with the intensity of his simmering rage. Ruhanikaâs past had surfaced in fragments, but it was enough for him to grasp the unimaginable horrors she had endured under Vijaypratap and Sukriti Rathore. The fact that they had raised their hands on her, someone so delicate and innocent, set his blood boiling. He had already ordered Amandeep to dig up every shred of information about the Rathores. They had kept Ruhanika captive, mistreating her for years, and now Rudraksh was determined to make them pay.
But just as his mind swirled with thoughts of vengeance, he reached the living area, where Rishwik ran towards him and hugged him tightly. The sudden embrace softened the storm inside Rudraksh. His hard, angered expression melted as concern and warmth took over. Rishwik was the one person who could always bring Rudraksh back from the edge, grounding him with his innocence and love. Now, Ruhanika had joined that sacred space in Rudrakshâs heart, someone for whom he could set aside his fury, even if only temporarily. Rudraksh placed a protective arm around Rishwik, rubbing his back gently, the anger in his eyes giving way to softness.
Rudraksh: "Chote kya hua??"
(What happened, little one?)
Rishwik: "Bhai, just promise me Angel hume chod ke kabhi nahi jayegi."
(Bro, just promise me that Angel will never leave us.)
Rudraksh: "Rishwik"
Rishwik took a step back, his expression softening as he reached out to grasp Rudraksh's hand firmly.
Rishwik: "Bhai, after decades, I finally felt the emotions I used to feel with..."
Rudraksh: "Rishwik"
Rishwik: "Nahi bhai, aaj main nahi sununga aapki. Main nahi jaane dunga ab apni behen ko kahi bhi. Aapka pata nahi par Vo humesha yahi rahegi mere pass."
(No, bro, today I wonât listen to you. Iâm not going to let my sister go anywhere. I don't know about you, but she will always stay with me.)
Rudraksh: "Chote, tu bas emotional ho raha hai, tujhe bhi pata hai humari zindagi kaisi hai aur agar vo is zindagi me aayi toh kya hoga.... Uski apni life pehle se bikhri hai aur hum use.."
(Little one, you're just being emotional. You know how our life is, and if she comes into this life, what will happen? Her life is already shattered, and we...)
Rishwik: "Exactly bhai, aapne dekha hai na kitni masoom hai vo, aur ye duniya kaisi hai ye bhi aap jante hai. Phir kyu dur kar rahe hai Angel ko khud se, kitna bharosa karti hai vo aap pe."
(Exactly, bro! Youâve seen how innocent she is, and you also know what this world is like. Then why are you pushing Angel away? She trusts you so much.)
Rudraksh: "Use bharose ke sath pyaar ki zarurat hai jo main use nahi de sakta, tu janta hai ye baat."
(She needs love along with trust, which I cannot give her. You know that.)
Rudraksh turned his face to the other side, deliberately avoiding Rishwik's gaze, his jaw clenched in quiet frustration. The weight of their shared past hung in the air, thick and unspoken. In the background, Ashvik and Amandeep remained silent, observing the exchange. Both were well aware of the Malhotra brothers' history and the burdens they carried. Neither dared to interrupt, fully understanding the complexity of the situation and the emotions at play.
Rishwik: "Bhai zaruri toh nahi jo unke sath hua vo Angel ke sath bhi ho."
(Bro, it's not necessary that what happened before will also happen to Angel.)
Rudraksh: "Rishwik bas."
(Rishwik, enough.)
Rudraksh abruptly turned back toward Rishwik, his voice rising with unmistakable anger, eyes flashing with frustration. His emotions were barely in check, and the intensity of his glare made it clear that his patience was wearing thin. The tension between the brothers was palpable.
Rudraksh: "Zidd karne ki bhi hadd hoti hai. Main kuch kehta nahi hu toh kuch karega ab tu."
(Thereâs a limit to stubbornness. Just because I don't say anything, don't think you can do whatever you want.)
Rishwik: "Haa karunga kuch bhi, aapki Khushi ke liye Angel ki khushi ke liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hu. Aapse bhi Ladd sakta hu."
(Yes, I will do whatever it takes, for your happiness and for Angelâs happiness. I can even fight you if necessary.)
Rudraksh's gaze was fierce and filled with frustration as he looked at Rishwik, who, in turn, mirrored his anger. The tension between them was palpable. Sensing the escalating hostility, Ashvik stepped in to defuse the situation.
Ashvik: "Rudraksh, dekh Bhai thande dimaag se soch. Teddy ko zarurat hai teri aur shayad tujhe bhi uski. Maine dekha hai kis tarah se dekhta hai tu use."
(Rudraksh, think calmly, bro. Teddy needs you, and maybe you need her too. I've seen how you look at her.)
Rishwik and Ashvik were determined to make Rudraksh confront and acknowledge his true feelings for Ruhanika. They believed it was crucial for him to admit his love for her. However, Rudraksh remained resolute in his stance, firmly insisting that he did not harbor any loving feelings for Ruhanika. Despite their efforts, he stood his ground, unwilling to relent or change his opinions.
Rishwik: "Koi aisa jo aapke dil ke bahaut kareeb ho, jiske liye aapka dil dhadakta hai, jiske hone se aapko sukoon mile, aapke chehre pe muskaan aa jaye."
(Someone who is very close to your heart, who makes your heart beat, whose presence brings you peace and puts a smile on your face.)
Rudraksh, Ashvik, and Amandeep exchanged puzzled glances, their expressions a mix of curiosity and confusion. Rishwik, however, simply smiled, a knowing glint in his eyes.
Rishwik: "Yahi matlab hota hai na Yellow ka bhai??"
(Isn't that the meaning of "yellow," bro?)
Rudraksh turned his gaze away, struggling to conceal the turmoil roiling within him. He averted his eyes not only to avoid confronting the uncomfortable truth Rishwik had just pointed out but also to mask the conflicting emotions that the question had stirred up. Deep down, he knew Rishwik was right, but accepting it was something he wasnât ready to do. The internal conflict was evident as he wrestled with the denial and the undeniable reality of the situation.
Rudraksh: "Enough of this nonsense."
Ashvik and Rishwik smirked.
Rudraksh: "Arora, what's the update."
Amandeep extended his tablet towards Rudraksh, and both Rishwik and Ashvik leaned in from either side to peer at the screen. Rudraksh shot them a sharp glare, but his annoyance seemed to have little effect on either of them. They continued to examine the tablet with focused curiosity, undeterred by his evident frustration.
Amandeep: "Sir, this Vijaypratap is a very cunning man. He has kept everything so secretive that we are not getting much information, but right now, heâs searching for a lawyer."
Rishwik: "Iski toh, meri Angel ka divorce karana chahta hai ye Buddha, aise goli marunga isko ki dobara janam lene se pehle bhi 100 baar sochega."
(That old man wants to get my Angel divorced. I swear, Iâll shoot him so hard that heâll think a hundred times before being reborn.)
Ashvik: "Aur uske baad bhi janam nahi lega."
(And even after that, he wonât dare be reborn.)
Rudraksh shot a stern glare at both Rishwik and Ashvik, causing them to immediately fall silent.
Amandeep: "Nahi Sir, ye divorce lawyer nahi dundh raha. Par pata nahi kya kar Raha kuch samajh nahi aa raha. Ruhi ma'am ki sh...."
(No, Sir, heâs not looking for a divorce lawyer. But we still don't understand what he's planning. Ever since Ruhi maâamâs mar...)
Rudraksh raised his eyebrows at Amandeep, who, feeling the intensity of the look, swallowed nervously. The silent pressure was unmistakable, and Amandeep hesitated before responding.
Amandeep: "I mean Ruhanika ma'am, unki shadi ke baad se hi pagal hua hai ye, Jayvardhan se bhi jhagda hua hai iska."
( I mean, since Ruhanika maâamâs wedding, heâs gone mad. He even fought with Jayvardhan.)
Rudraksh: "Ye sab toh normal hai anything apart from this?? Like why he tried make Yellow..."
(Thatâs normal. Anything apart from that? Like, why did he try to make Yellow...)
Ashvik: "umm hmmm"
(Author: Ashvik bhai chup karo, pit jaoge bewajahð)
Rudraksh: "Shut up."
Ashvik placed his finger on his lips.
Rudraksh: "Why did he try to make Yellow marry that old man?"
Amandeep: "No idea, Sir. But yes, Jayvardhan owns 49 percent shares of Rathore Industries and saved Vijaypratap from going bankrupt nearly eight months ago."
Rudraksh: "There must be some hidden motive for sure."
Amandeep: "Sir, one more thing."
Rudraksh: "What?"
Rudraksh asked, his tone laden with both curiosity and urgency, as he scrolled through the tablet that displayed photos of Vijaypratap and Jayvardhan. The images flickered across the screen, their faces stark against the digital backdrop as Rudraksh sought answers.
Amandeep: "S...Sir, actually Jayvardhan Rane owns a b...brothel."
Rudraksh's gaze hardened, his jaw clenched tightly as his hands formed into fists, a clear sign of his intense frustration. Rishwik and Ashvik, standing beside him, mirrored his stern expressions, their own faces etched with anger.
Rudraksh: "Let's goo."
Rudraksh took a decisive step forward when the sharp sound of glass shattering reached his ears from his room. Driven by a surge of urgency, he sprinted towards his room, his heart racing with concern. Ashvik, Rishwik, and Amandeep, catching the urgency in his movement, quickly followed suit. Bursting into the room, Rudraksh's eyes fell upon Ruhanika, who was huddled on the bed, sobbing quietly as she clutched her knees to her chest. The broken pieces of glass scattered down only added to the chaos of the moment. Rudraksh's expression softened as he took in the sight of her distress, his earlier anger momentarily forgotten.
Rudraksh: "Betu??"
(Sweetheart?)
Ruhanika's tear-streaked face lifted as she saw Rudraksh enter the room. Her cries grew louder, and he instinctively ran towards her. Rudraksh caught her in a gentle embrace, and sat beside her on the bed. As he wrapped his arms around her, he tenderly caressed her head, offering comfort and solace. His touch was soothing, a stark contrast to the chaos of the shattered glass around them.
Rudraksh: "Shhhh Betu kya hua"
(Shhh. Sweetheart, what happened?)
Ruhanika: "H..ume vo sa.. sapna vo aa..admi.... Hume laga a..ap hume c..chod ke.."
(I...i had th...that dream, th...that man... I..I thought y...you were going to l...leave me.)
Rudraksh closed his eyes, overwhelmed with guilt for Ruhanika's distress and the nightmares that had caused it. His heart ached at the sight of her tearful face. Ashvik, Rishwik, and Amandeep, deeply moved by the scene, also felt the weight of her suffering. Unable to bear the sight any longer and sensing the need for privacy, they quietly left the room, giving Rudraksh and Ruhanika the space they needed to find solace in each other's presence.
Rudraksh: "Shhh betu kuch nahi hua, main.. main toh yahi hu bas niche gaya tha kuch kaam se hmm?? Chup ho jao."
(Shhh, sweetheart, nothing happened. Iâm... Iâm right here. I just went downstairs for some work, okay? Calm down.)
As Ruhanika's sobs gradually subsided, she slowly pulled back from Rudraksh's embrace, her eyes downcast. Her tears had ceased, but the traces of her distress lingered in her demeanor. Rudraksh continued to hold her gently, offering silent support as she composed herself.
Ruhanika: "K..kya aap hu..me maaf ka..renge??"
(W...will you f...forgive me?)
Rudraksh's confusion deepened as he observed Ruhanika's behavior. His brow furrowed, and he gently cupped her face with both hands, guiding her to look up at him. His eyes searched hers for understanding, hoping to grasp what was troubling her now that her tears had stopped.
Rudraksh: "Maaf kyu?? Tumne kuch kiya thodi hai."
(Forgive you? You havenât done anything.)
Ruhanika: "Vahi toh.. h..hum kal se kuch n..nahi kar rah..he. Nima ne kaha tha h..ume aa...apka dh.. dhyaan rakhna hai aur aap b..ah..ar jaake kaa...m karenge."
(Thatâs just it... I...i havenât been d...doing anything since yesterday. Nima told me to take care of you, and youâre g...going outside for w...work.)
Rudraksh was on the verge of smiling at Ruhanika's innocent words, but he managed to hold it back. His gaze softened immensely, showing a tenderness that starkly contrasted with the anger he had exhibited just moments before. The warmth in his eyes was a testament to his deep care for her, revealing a side of him that was gentle and affectionate.
Rudraksh: "Achcha ye sab tumhari Nima ne mere bare me kaha tha??"
(So, this is what your Nima told you about me?)
Ruhanika nodded in agreement and continued speaking, her voice soft and tentative.
Ruhanika: "Haa, vo a..apko Ja..nti thi na, to..h un..he pata tha aapke b..aare me."
(Yes, she k...knew you, s...so she knew everything about you.)
Rudraksh, still confused by her earlier response, furrowed his brow and asked further, his tone gentle but inquisitive.
Rudraksh: "Par vo mujhe kaise janti thi yellow??"
(But how did she know me, Yellow?)
Ruhanika: "Areh un..hone hi to..h aapko huma..re liya c..huna tha na."
(She w...was the one w...who chose you for me.)
Rudraksh's brow furrowed in thought as he began to piece together the situation. His jaw tightened, and he gently caressed Ruhanika's hand, his expression softening as he spoke in a soothing voice.
Rudraksh: "Betu jo main puchunga sach sach bataogi??"
(Sweetheart, if I ask you something, will you tell me the truth?)
Ruhanika nodded.
Ruhanika: "Ha h..um sach hi b..olte hai aur Nima ne ka..ha tha aapse k..uch nahi chup..ane."
(Yes, I always t...tell the truth. Nima said never to hide anything from you.)
Rudraksh mentally expressed his gratitude towards Ruhanika's grandmother for imparting such lessons to her.
Rudraksh: "Betu tumse kisne kaha tha ki mujhe tumhari Nima ne chuna hai?? Tumne pehle dekha tha ki tumhari shadi kisse ho rahi hai??"
( Sweetheart, who told you that Nima chose me for you? Did you see who you were marrying before the wedding?)
Ruhanika shook her head, her gaze steady as she looked up at Rudraksh.
Ruhanika: "Mami ne ba..taya tha ki aapko Nima ne ch..una hai. Aur h..umne aa..pko pehli b..aar shadi ke ma..ndap me hi dekha."
(My aunt t...told me that Nima c...chose you. And I...i saw you for the first t...time at the wedding altar.)
Rudraksh's eyes widened as the realization sank in. He understood now that the people around Ruhanika had misled her, and that she might have married anyone who was in the position of a groom, even Jayvardhan. Anger boiled within him, but he fought to keep his emotions in check, knowing that he needed to stay calm for Ruhanika's sake.
Ruhanika noticed that Rudraksh hadn't responded, and her heart sank, thinking that perhaps he was upset or angry because she wasnât doing anything. With a heavy heart, she tried to get down from the bed, feeling as though she had disappointed him. However, Rudraksh quickly noticed her attempt and gently held her hand to stop her.
Rudraksh: "Kaha chali tum??"
(Where are you going?)
Ruhanika: "Aap n..araz nahi ho..na please. Hum sa..re k..am kar lenge a..ap apne of..fice ja sakte hai."
(P...please donât be m...mad. .Iâll do all the w...work, and you can go to the o...office.)
Rudraksh's lips curved upwards slightly, betraying a hint of a smile, but he didnât let it fully emerge.
Rudraksh: "Kisne kaha main naraz ho jaunga??"
(Who said Iâd get mad?)
Ruhanika looked at him with confusion, sensing the subtle shift in his expression. Rudraksh, unable to resist the impact of her innocence, averted his gaze, trying to maintain his composure.
Rudraksh: "Kuch kaam nahi karogi tum, chup chaap se araam Karo. Shaam tak tumhari reports aa jayenge phir jaisa doctor bolegi vaisa karna hai."
(Youâre not doing any work. Just rest. Your reports will come in the evening, and then weâll follow the doctorâs orders.)
Ruhanika: "Par p..hir aa..pka ka.."
(B...but your w...)
Rudraksh: "Nima ne meri har baat manne bhi kaha hoga na??"
(Nima must have told you to listen to everything I say, right?)
Ruhanika nodded.
Rudraksh: "Bas phir jo main bolta hu vahi Karo aur abhi yaha se bahar nahi jaogi tum, koi kaam nahi karogi sirf araam samjhi??"
(Then, do exactly as I say. You wonât go out of this room, and you wonât do any work. Only rest, understand?)
She nodded, but as she attempted to place her feet down, Rudraksh swiftly stopped her, glaring at her with a mix of concern and frustration.
Rudraksh: "Kaha na nahi jaana hai niche phir kyu??"
( Didnât I say not to step down? Then why?)
Ruhanika didn't flinch, as Rudraksh hadn't raised his voice. Understanding her sensitivity, he knew he had to be patient. She lowered her eyes, nervously fidgeting with her fingers, as Rudraksh continued to watch her with a softened expression.
Ruhanika: "Vo hu..me va..ha jaana hai."
I want to g...go there.)
Ruhanika pointed towards the washroom, and Rudraksh followed the direction of her hand.
Rudraksh: "Ha toh bol do mujhe, main le chalta hu na paglu.*
(Then tell me, Iâll take you, silly.)
Rudraksh gently lifted Ruhanika in his arms and carried her to the washroom, giving her instructions to avoid putting any strain on her injured leg. After a few minutes, she returned from the washroom, and Rudraksh carefully lifted her again, placing her back on the bed.
Rudraksh: "Tum yahi araam Karo main aata hu."
(You rest here, Iâll be back soon.)
As soon as Ruhanika was back on the bed, she immediately reached out and held Rudraksh's hand, shaking her head. He responded by gently caressing her cheeks, offering her reassurance and comfort.
Rudraksh: "Abhi tumhe kaha na meri baatein maanogi??"
(Didnât I just tell you to listen to me?)
Ruhanika nodded.
Rudraksh: "Toh bas 10 minute dedo mujhe main kuch kaam khatam karke jaldi se tumhare pass aata hu thik hai??"
(So, give me 10 minutes. Iâll finish my work and come to you, okay?)
Ruhanika: "H..um inte..zaar karenge."
(Iâll wait.)
Rudraksh was taken aback by the unfamiliar warmth spreading through his chest when Ruhanika said she would wait for him. His lips, seemingly acting on their own, gently brushed against her forehead in a tender kiss. Ruhanika, feeling the gentle touch, instinctively lowered her head, savoring the comfort and closeness.
Rudraksh: "Bas 10 minute betu, abhi aaya."
(Just 10 minutes, sweetheart. Iâll be right back.)
Rudraksh left the room, his thoughts heavy as he walked out. In the living area, Rishwik, Ashvik, and Amandeep were seated, their expressions etched with concern for Ruhanika. They exchanged glances, each one silently hoping for her swift recovery and feeling the weight of the situation that had unfolded.
Rishwik: "Bhai, Angel kaisi hai??"
(Bro, howâs Angel?)
Rudraksh: "Yellow thik hai."
(Yellow is fine.)
Ashvik, Rishwik, and Amandeep sighed in relief.
Rudraksh: "Arora, make sure he begs for death when I meet him, but I need him alive."
Amandeep: "Definitely, Sir."
Rudraksh: "Rishwik?"
Rishwik: "Iâve started the system hack, bhai. Youâll get the required information by tomorrow morning."
Rudraksh nodded.
Rudraksh: "Ashvik?"
Ashvik: "Vijaypratap wonât get any support from the underworld. Donât worry, and his company will soon go bankrupt."
Rudraksh and Rishwik shared a knowing smirk as they wrapped up their discussion. Rudraksh couldn't help but reflect on the drastic shift in his feelings towards Ruhanika. Just the day before, he had been focused on his mission to bring her down, yet now he found himself using all his resources to ensure her safety and well-being.
As he walked back to his room, he thought about the many questions he still hadâquestions only Ruhanika could answer. However, he was determined not to press her while she was still so fragile and overwhelmed. When he entered the room, he saw Ruhanika sitting on the bed, gazing out of the window. Her expression was distant, lost in thoughts that seemed to weigh heavily on her. Rudraksh could tell that this young woman, who had so much on her mind, was struggling to process everything.
With a sigh, he approached her, ready to offer comfort and support, while silently vowing to address his concerns in a way that would not add to her burdens.
Rudraksh: "Betu kya kar rahi ho??"
(Sweetheart, what are you doing?)
Ruhanika turned her face, her gaze meeting Rudraksh's as he sat down beside her.
Ruhanika: "Hum..ne ku..ch nahi kiya sa..chchi. aa..pne kaam ka..rne se mana k..kiya toh hum y..aha se hi..le bhi nahi hai."
(W...we didnât do a...anything, r...really. Y...you told us not to w...work, so we h...havenât even left h...here.)
Rudraksh reached out and gently pulled on Ruhanika's cheeks, a playful gesture that highlighted the softness of her chubby cheeks. the only part in her body which is chubby.
Rudraksh: "Phir se literally le liya na sab."
(Youâre taking everything literally again, arenât you?)
Ruhanika: "Jii??"
(What)
Rudraksh: "Jii kuch nahi. Chalo let jao"
(Never mind. Come on, lie down.)
As Ruhanika was about to lie down, Rudraksh's words caught her attention, making her sit up abruptly. The sudden movement put pressure on her injured shoulder, causing her to wince slightly. Rudraksh, noticing her discomfort, immediately became concerned and moved closer to ensure she was comfortable.
Rudraksh: "tumhari dressing karne ka waqt ho gaya. Main bulata hu kisi ko."
(Itâs time for your dressing. Iâll call someone.)
Ruhanika: "Ahhh"
Her wound throbbed with pain, but she grasped Rudrakshâs hand tightly and shook her head, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.
Ruhanika: "N..ahi. vo.. la..dkiyan nahi."
( N...no, not th...those girls.)
Rudraksh: "Betu, tum daro mat. Ab main toh nahi.. matlab ki main..vo main kaise dekh sakta hu tumhe. Bas 5 minute me vo kar dengi aur main aa jaunga."
(Sweetheart, donât be scared. I canât... I mean, how can I look at you? Theyâll take just five minutes, and Iâll be right back.)
Ruhanika: "A...aa..p d..keh sakte hai. Hu..me. Nim..a ne k..aha tha aa..p jab hume de..khana ch..aahe aap de..kh sak..te hai aur hum..e mana nahi ka..rna hai."
(Y...you c...can look at us. N...Nima said that w...whenever you w...want to look at us, you c...can, and w...weâre not supposed to refuse.)
Rudraksh closed his eyes, overwhelmed by frustration and embarrassment.
Rudraksh: "Ye kya bakwas sikhayi hai tumhari Nima ne tumhe."
(What nonsense did your Nima teach you?)
Ruhanika looked at Rudraksh, her confusion evident on her face as she tried to understand his reaction.
Ruhanika: "K..ya Ni..ma ne galat ba..taya??"
(D...did Nima s...say something w...wrong?)
Rudraksh sighed, his frustration melting into a soft smile as he shook his head, clearly moved by her innocence.
Rudraksh: "Hun main tennu kis dassa sohneyo. Tussi inne kinne masoom sawala pochede ho."
(Oh, how do I explain this to you, sweetheart? You ask such innocent questions.)
Ruhanika's confusion grew as she tilted her head to the right, her eyes narrowing slightly as she tried to make sense of his words. Her innocent curiosity only added to the gentle warmth in Rudraksh's gaze.
Rudraksh: "Hun aaj ta main ta muskura hi dena hai taudi gallan sun sun."
(I have no choice but to smile when I hear you talk.)
Ruhanikaâs frown deepened as she struggled to understand Rudrakshâs words, her brow furrowing in a mixture of confusion and curiosity. Rudraksh found her bewildered expression endearing, and though he was tempted to pull her close and kiss her cheeks, he managed to control himself, savoring the sweet moment of her innocence.
Ruhanika: "Ky..a kaha aa..pne?? Aur hum..e kuch sa..majh kyu nahi aa...ta?? Kya h..um alag hai??"
(W...what did you say? W...why donât I understand anything? Am I d...different?)
Rudraksh: "Jii aap sabse alag hai Sohneyo. Hun main aaj tak tere vargi masoom kudi nahi vekkha."
(Yes, you are different, sweetheart. Iâve never seen anyone as innocent as you.)
Ruhanika: "Hum a...lag hai?? Kya hum bhi aa..pke do..st aur bhai ki ta..rah.."
(Am I d...different? Am I like y...your friends and b...rother?)
Rudraksh's resolve finally gave way under the weight of Ruhanika's cuteness. In just a matter of hours, she had managed to rule his heart in ways he hadn't anticipated. The unfamiliar sensation of not wanting to restrict her, but rather cherish her, overwhelmed him. He cupped her face gently in his hands and softly caressed her cheeks, allowing himself to fully embrace the tenderness and affection he felt for her.
Rudraksh: "Main kya kehta hu ye baad me bata dunga. Abhi kuch kaam hai jiske liye mujhe niche jaana hoga. Tumhe le chalu?? "
(Iâll explain everything later. Right now, I have some work to do. Shall I take you with me?)
Ruhanika nodded.
Rudraksh: "Ruko pehle tumhare dressing kar dete hai."
(Wait, letâs do your dressing first.)
Rudraksh stood up and walked to the closet, returning moments later with a first aid kit. He noticed Ruhanika lying down, her gaze fixed on him with a mix of curiosity and trust. As he approached, he felt a wave of nervousness and shyness wash over him. Despite his calm exterior, inside he was acutely aware of the delicate balance he needed to maintain. Ruhanika, though innocent and childlike in many ways, was perceptive, and Rudraksh was keenly aware of the importance of ensuring she didnât misinterpret his intentions. He wanted to provide the care she needed while making sure she felt comfortable and safe.
Rudraksh: "Suno, main na abhi aakhein band karunga. Toh tum mujhe batana chot kaha hai aur main dressing kar dunga thik hai??"
(Listen, Iâll close my eyes now. Then you tell me where youâre hurt, and Iâll do the dressing, okay?)
Ruhanika: "Par aap hu..me d..ekh sakte hai."
(B...but you c...can look at us.)
Rudraksh: "Hun mere layii horr mushkil na kar sohneyo. "
(Please donât make this harder for me, sweetheart.)
Ruhanika: "Jii???"
(W...what??)
Rudraksh: "Haa par mujhe na aise chot dekhne se na Darr lagta hai. Tum chahti ho main Darr jau??."
(I get scared seeing injuries. Do you want me to be scared?)
Ruhanika quickly shook her head and reached out, holding his hand firmly.
Rudraksh: "Bas phir jaise kahunga vaisa karogi na??"
(Just do what I say, okay?)
Ruhanika nodded appreciatively as Rudraksh gently patted her cheeks. With a calm, reassuring demeanor, Rudraksh closed his eyes momentarily, focusing on the task at hand. He carefully opened the top two buttons of her shirt to access her wound. Following her subtle guidance, he dressed her wound with careful precision, ensuring it was properly tended to. Once he finished, he buttoned her shirt back up, his eyes meeting hers as he reopened them.
Rudraksh: "Thik hai?? dard toh nahi hai na??"
(Does it hurt?)
Ruhanika shook her head.
Rudraksh: "Niche chale ab??"
(Shall we go downstairs now?)
Ruhanika again nodded.
Rudraksh: "Rishwik ke sath baithogi kuch der?? Jab tak main kaam karunga??"
(Will you sit with Rishwik for a while? Iâll be working until then.)
Ruhanika's eyes widen, she was hesitant and little scared but nodded in yes.
Rudraksh: "Daro mat vo bura nahi hai. Bas thoda shararti hai."
(Donât be scared, heâs not bad. Heâs just a bit mischievous.)
Ruhanika: "Par Sha..rarat bachche ka..rte hai, ky..a aapke Bhai ba..achche hai??"
(But mischief is something kids do... Are your brother good?)
Rudraksh: "Ha vo bachcha hi hai mera, par ab tum kuch der shant raho koi sawaal nahi samjhi??"
(Yes, heâs like a kid to me, but for now, you should stay quiet and not ask any questions, okay?)
She nodded in agreement, and he carefully guided her downstairs. He settled her on the couch facing Rishwik and Ashvik, making sure she was comfortable. She avoided looking at them, feeling a mix of fear and discomfort, especially since they often laughed at her. As she sat there, Rudraksh bent down closer to her and spoke softly, trying to offer reassurance and comfort.
Rudraksh: "Tum baitho yaha kuch der, main aata hu thik hai. Aur chalna nahi, kuch chahiye ho toh in dono gadho ko bata dena."
(Sit here for a while. Iâll be back soon. And donât go anywhere. If you need anything, let these two idiots know.)
Ashvik and Rishwik both shot Rudraksh a glare, but he remained unfazed. Rudraksh straightened up, but Ruhanika gently tugged at the hem of his shirt, drawing his attention back to her.
Ruhanika: "Aa..p Jaa..yenge toh ye dono aapke bh..ai aur d..ost hum..pe hase..nge."
(If you leave, these twoâyour brother and friendâwill laugh at me.)
Rudraksh cast a stern glare at both Rishwik and Ashvik, his eyes conveying a clear message of disapproval and warning.
Rudraksh: "Nahi bachcha koi nahi hasega. Hasa toh mujhse bura koi nahi hoga."
(No one will laugh, dear. If anyone laughs, it will be worse for them than for me.)
Ruhanika hesitantly nodded in response. Rudraksh gently patted her cheeks with a reassuring smile before heading towards his home office, accompanied by Amandeep.
Ruhanika sat quietly on the couch, her gaze flickering between Ashvik and Rishwik. Both of them offered her warm smiles, but she quickly lowered her eyes in response. Rishwik and Ashvik exchanged amused glances, shaking their heads at her innocent demeanor. Despite their smiles, Ruhanika's fear made her look away whenever they glanced in her direction. As she watched Rishwik type rapidly on his laptop, her curiosity grew. She had seen laptops before but had never observed someone typing with such speed. Her eyes followed his hands with fascination. Noticing her interest, Rishwik decided to use this moment to make her feel more at ease. He slowly stood up and walked over to her. Ruhanika, feeling his approach, instinctively lowered her gaze. Rishwik, understanding her hesitation, approached her with a gentle demeanor, hoping to create a comfortable atmosphere.
Rishwik: "Angel, kya main yaha couch ke is taraf baith jau??"
(Angel, can I sit here on this side of the couch?)
Ruhanika: "Aa..p ka hi ghar h..ai, aa.p hum..se kyu puch r..ahe hai??"
(Itâs your house... Why are you asking me?)
Rishwik smiled gently and extended his hand towards Ruhanika's head in a gesture of reassurance. However, seeing his movement, she instinctively closed her eyes tightly, bracing herself. Not wanting to overwhelm her, Rishwik withdrew his hand, maintaining his calm and supportive demeanor.
Rishwik: "Daro mat, kuch nahi karunga. Main na yaha baith jaata hu phir tum achche se dekh paogi main kya kar Raha hu."
(Donât be scared, I wonât do anything. Iâll sit here so you can properly see what Iâm doing.)
Rishwik settled beside Ruhanika, keeping a respectful distance. As she watched him, her gaze was drawn to the swift movement of his fingers on the laptop keyboard. Rishwik, noticing her fascination, smiled warmly and then turned his gaze towards her. The softness in his eyes made Ruhanika feel more at ease, especially recalling his kind gesture of braiding her hair earlier. For the first time, she didnât lower her eyes, feeling a sense of trust in his presence.
Rishwik: "Kya tumhe ye sikhna hai??"
(Do you want to learn this?)
Ruhanika shook her head.
Rishwik: "Achcha, kya tum mujhse dosti karogi??"
( Okay, will you be my friend?)
Ruhanika tilted her head in curiosity and pointed towards Rishwik, her eyes filled with confusion. Her gesture clearly asked, *"Are you offering friendship to me?"*
Rishwik: "Hmm mujhse dosti, pata hai isme bhi na tumhara hi fayda hai."
(Hmm, being friends with me would benefit you.)
Rishwik placed his laptop on the center table and turned fully towards Ruhanika. Ruhanika, still puzzled, asked with a hand gesture how it will benefit her.
Rishwik: "Achcha batao main kon hu??"
(Alright, tell me, who am I?)
Ruhanika: "A..aap toh inke B..hai hai."
(Y...you are his b...brother.)
Rishwik: "Correct, Main Rudraksh bhai ka chota bhai hu, toh socho na main tumhe bhai ke baare me kitna kuch bata sakta hu na."
(Correct. Iâm Rudraksh bhaiâs younger brother. So think about it, I can tell you a lot about him.)
Ruhanika: "Jaise?"
(Like what?)
Rishwik: "Jaise ki bhai ko kya pasand hai kya nahi pasand, unhe kab gussa aata hai jab nahi, kya khate hai kya nahi sab kuch."
(Like what he likes and dislikes, when he gets angry and when he doesnât, what he eats and what he doesnâtâeverything.)
Rishwik noticed Ruhanikaâs curious eyes and smiled warmly.
Rishwik: "Tum patni ho na unki tumhe pata hona chahiye na ye sab, tumhari Nima ne bataya hoga na."
(Youâre his wife, right? You should know all this. Your Nima must have told you, right?)
Ruhanika took a moment to think, her expression thoughtful. Then, she nodded, recalling the lessons her grandmother had taught her about husband wife.
Rishwik: "Toh karogi dosti??"
(So, will you be friends with me?)
Ruhanika's eyes dropped to the floor, her lips forming a sad pout. Rishwik couldn't help but chuckle softly at her adorable expression, finding her sadness both endearing and heartwarming.
Rishwik: "Ab kya ho gaya Angel?? Nahi karni dosti??"
(What happened now, Angel? Donât you want to be friends?)
Ruhanika: "Vo b..aat nahi hai"
(Thatâs n...not the issue.)
Rishwik: "Phir??"
(Then what is it?)
She was fidgeting with her fingers, twisting and turning them nervously as she continued to look down, lost in her thoughts.
Ruhanika: "Vo aap hu..mesha ha..ste hai humpe, hume ac..hcha nahi lagta. Au..r hume do..sti kar..na nahi aata."
(Y...you always l...laugh at me. I donât l...like it. A...and I donât know h...how to make friends.)
Rishwik fought back a laugh, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he shifted a bit closer to her. He leaned in slightly, trying to match her level of comfort while maintaining a gentle and reassuring presence.
Rishwik: "Achcha thik hai toh main sorry bolta hu meri galti hai main hasa na tumpe. Sorry, maaf karogi??"
(Alright, okay. Iâll say sorry. Itâs my fault for laughing at you. Sorry. Will you forgive me?)
Ruhanika: "Pa..r aapne apne k..aan to..h nahi pakde."
(B...but you didnât hold your e...ears.)
Rishwik stifled his laughter again, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he playfully held his ears. His gesture was light-hearted, intended to ease the tension and make Ruhanika feel more at ease.
Rishwik: "Achcha ye lo ab kaan pakad liye. Ab karogi maaf??"
(Okay, here you go. Iâve held my ears now. Will you forgive me?)
Ruhanika nodded her head.
Rishwik: "Thank you Angel."
Rishwik gently patted her head, and to his surprise, she didnât flinch. Instead, Ruhanika felt a sense of safety and comfort she hadn't anticipated. Despite being surrounded by unfamiliar faces, she found herself trusting these new people more than she expected. Even Amandeep and Ashvik, whom she had initially been wary of, gave off no negative vibes, adding to her growing sense of security.
Rishwik: "Aur dosti, vo main sikha dunga tumhe kaise karte hai. Sikhogi??"
(And as for friendship, Iâll teach you how to do that. Will you learn?)
Ruhanika nodded. Rishwik extended his hand toward Ruhanika, and she gazed at it with a puzzled expression. It was clear she didn't immediately understand the gesture.
Rishwik: "Ye mere hath me hath milao, aise hi karte hai dosti."
(Just hold my hand and shake. Thatâs how you become friends.)
Ruhanika hesitated for a moment before tentatively extending her trembling hand toward Rishwik. Noticing her unease, Rishwik gently took her hand in his and began to rub it softly. His soothing touch gradually calmed her, and her hands stopped trembling as she started to relax in his presence.
