Chapter 1253
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Blake said, âBut, Dr. Stewart, if you go to the hospital now, Iâm afraid Cecilia will harm you. Moreover, I believe she has people secretly watching you. Sheâll surely hurt you as soon as you leave the research institute.â
Kai smoked the cigarette in his hand. Despite the bitterness in his tongue, the nicotine provided him with a stimulating effect. He casually flickered the cigarette ash and said, âDo you really think so highly of her? She isnât the only smart one in the entire Ventropolis.
âAnyway, sheâs just a parasite. Can you guess why, despite being the CEO of the company for such a long time, she still doesnât have the highest authority and canât make the most significant decisions in the company?â
Blake replied, âWhy?â
Kai looked at the person next to him and said, âThis isnât some could tell you. You have to find the answer yourself. Why didnât tell you anything at all?â
Blake shook her head, âHe kept a lot of things from me.
Kai smiled, âYou should take the initiative to ask and investigate in you donât know about something. Being smart and sophisticated is the most important in your line of work. How can you compete with Cecilia with your current mindset?â
Blake pursed her lips. She hesitated before saying, âI never intended to compete with her. I just want to stop her from doing terrible things.
My sister wasnât this bad back then. She was genuinely very good. I just donât know what turned her into the person she is now.
âSheâs turned into someone who resorts to any means just to achieve her goals. I canât just watch her make mistakes after mistakes. I need to stop her before things become irreparable.â
Kai shifted his gaze and looked out of the window, âIt seems like thereâs someone more clear-headed than her.
âIf the news of Jardin Corporation is in chaos because of one woman, even Hayson would be so furious that heâd come back to life.â
Blake asked, âSo, what do we do now?â
Kai replied, âTell Joanna everything I just said about Zachâs problems. Sheâll know what to do. But this surgery is extremely risky, and I must be the one who does it. Just let me know when the surgery is, and Iâllâ
handle the rest.â
Blake nodded solemnly, âOkay. Iâll go to her now.â
Kai shook his head at her impulsive behavior, âYou donât need to rush there. You can just call her. Also, youâre wasting your time by coming here every day.â
Blake shook her head, âI donât think itâs wasting my time. This matter is very serious, and Iâm afraid Cecilia is monitoring my phone. So, I must come here personally.â
Kai complimented her, saying, âYouâre quite meticulous. But to reach Kevinâs level, you need at least another ten years. Think about this carefully. If you were Kevin, whatâd you do? Howâd you handle this situation? And what will be the potential outcome?
âThink it through. When Zach wakes up, youâll be promoted and have your salary raised in no time.â
Blake could not tell Kai was teasing her. She nodded earnestly, âDr. Stewart, rest assured. Everything will be fine.â
She thought, âThis is just about whoâs more astute.â
Blake was a smart person since she was young. She looked for a nursing intern who was about to enter the hospital as her undercover at SereneCare Hospital.
With no surveillance in place, Blake took precautions by utilizing the companyâs secure intranet, impervious to even the most skilled hackers, to avoid being monitored.
After Blake told Joanna the reason Zach had been in a coma for so long, Joanna immediately arranged for the surgery to be done the next week.
