Chapter 1119
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The voice said, âYou have to get better quickly. Once youâre well, weâll spend all this money and buy delicious food for you.â
Cecilia quickly came back to her senses and said, âOur clientsâ matters are definitely the top priority.
Blake, after you fetch the medicine for me later, please get me my laptop.â
Blake did not try to dissuade Cecilia. âOkay, I got it.â
After Blake took the medicine for Cecilia, she drove to the company.
Cécilia used her phone to assist Blake in unlocking the door to her office. Blake then walked to Ceciliaâs desk and indeed saw a laptop. When she found the laptop bag and unplugged the laptopâs power cord, the laptop screen suddenly lit up. To her surprise, the screen background was actually a picture of Zachâs back, standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window with one hand in his pocket. The sky in the picture was pitch-black. Upon closer look, Blake noticed something. Reflected on the floor-to-
ceiling window was a bed, surrounded by luxurious decorations. It seemed to be a high-end presidential suite in Ventropolis. And on the bed, there was a woman wearing black, sexy lingerie.
Blake was surprised to find that the woman was Cecilia.
Shocked, Blakeâs hands trembled, causing the mouse on the desk to fall. When she bent down to pick it up, she noticed a stack of photos in a partially open drawer.
She was curious. She knew it was not right to see the photos, but she could not bring herself to ignore it.
Blake took out those photos eventually.
She looked through the photos one by one. Beyond the shock and anger, she felt a strong sense of injustice on Madelynâs behalf.
All these pictures featured Zach with Cecilia, and some of them Blake could not bear to even look at.
Upon hearing footsteps outside the office, Blake quickly put down the photos and stood up.
On the way to the hospital, Blake was absentminded throughout the journey.
Before she arrived at the hospital, she even bought a pack of nutritious soup.
In the ward, Cecilia stared at Blake who was busy. âWhen you got me my things, you didnât leave anything behind, did you? Or⦠Did you see something else on my desk?â
This suggestive remark made Blakeâs hands tremble, unable to resist the indirect implication. She hurriedly said, âI didnât. I followed your instructions and absolutely didnât touch anything else.â
Blakeâs words showed her unease.
Cecilia noticed Blake clutching her clothes with her fingers. She scrutinized her for a while before turning away saying, âYouâre my assistant. Of course, I trust you. You can get back to your work. Zach asked you to decorate the wedding venue, right? You can go and do your work now.â
Blake responded, âOkay, Ms. Samford. Iâll come to visit you after work later.â
After walking out of the Community Hospital, Blake felt overwhelmed by what happened. Holding her phone, she struggled with whether or not to tell Madelyn about it.
Two or three days later, the police launched a full-scale manhunt for the person who had assaulted Cecilia. The surveillance cameras in the underground parking lot were still under repair at that time, so the attackerâs face could not be captured.
Cecilia seemed like she did not care about the incident apart from the child, as if someone else would take care of this incident for her.
A man caressed Ceciliaâs face. âIâve found that person for you. Just as you expected, Zach indeed hired him. Zach showed no mercy to you, what a jerk!â
Cecilia sipped on the soup. She then smiled and said, âNo matter what, heâll still be mine in the end. Once I gain control of Jardin Corporation, Iâll leave him with nothing. Then heâll kneel before me, begging and pleading for mercy.
âIf he doesnât behave, Iâll use chains to lock him up. That way⦠Heâll be mine for life.â
