Chapter 471 - I Won’t Back Down

Qin Yufan continued to speak: “And now he’s back in the capital, he even brought his mother with him! If I didn’t argue with him, by now, his mother would be recognized as Mrs. Qin! So only their love is more solid than gold? And so what if they’re reuniting after so many years? Does that mean my mother means nothing at all!? What does she even count as after all these years?!”

“It’s not that I can’t accept my father getting married again. However, I can’t accept him marrying someone else as soon as my mother passes away! He went straight to his first love right after she died! What I can’t accept is that the love I thought my parents had for all those years was fake!”

Qin Yufan typically didn’t speak much. However, today, she said a lot of things to Jian Yiling.

Jian Yiling gazed at Qin Yufan. She saw Qin Yufan’s red eyes and the pained expression on her face.

Jian Yiling didn’t know how to comfort her. And thus, she could only tell her: “It’s not Qin Chuan’s fault. It’s not your fault either.”

Her words hit Qin Yufan in the heart.

It was a very simple fact. A fact that was known to many people.

But no one had said this to Qin Yufan before this.

Today, Qin Yufan had heard those words for the first time in her life.

Those in the Qin family who supported Qin Yufan would constantly tell her how to deal with Qin Chuan.

And those who supported Qin Chuan would tell her that girls could not inherit the family business.

Qin Yufan laughed. It was a helpless and bitter laugh.

After laughing for a while, some tears appeared in the corner of Qin Yufan’s eyes.

“To be honest, I really don’t like you. Especially when I first met you. You just looked like a childish and scheming girl to me. However now, I wish to apologize for those initial impressions I had of you. If it wasn’t for Master Sheng, perhaps, I would have even admired you.”

“He’s him. You’re you. And I’m me,” Jian Yiling said.

Qin Yufan looked at Jian Yiling again and laughed lowly. Then she commented: “I seem to understand why Master Sheng treats you in a special way. You are capable and the way you treat people is quite different to an average person.”

Qin Yufan had seen Jian Yiling’s approach to certain things.

Even though Jian Yiling knew that she was a love rival, she still chose the truth. She didn’t take this opportunity to worsen Qin Yufan’s relationship with Zhai Yusnehng.

Perhaps, this was the reason why Qin Yufan felt more relaxed when she was talking to Jian Yiling. As a result, she spoke more than usual.

Qin Yufan smiled as she picked up the champagne bottle on the table. She poured herself a glass.

She raised her head and drank the entire glass in one go.

As she drank the glass in one go, some of the champagne flowed down from the corner of her mouth and ran down her neckline.

“I’m tired. I want a break. And I want someone to lean on,” Qin Yufan said quietly. “However, I won’t back down. No matter how tired I am, I still want to hold the power of the Qin family. You might not understand why. However, this is something that I must get. No matter what the cost.”

Fifteen minutes later, Zhai Yunsheng arrived.

Zhai Yunsheng rushed into the compartment of the KTV. He saw Jian Yiling. Jian Yiling was still wearing a t-shirt and jeans. She looked out of place in the compartment.

He quickly walked over to Jian Yiling and took her into his arms.

Jian Yiling was a little shocked. She didn’t know why Zhai Yunsheng was suddenly hugging her.

Jian Yiling reached out to try and push Zhai Yunsheng away. She wanted to put some distance between her and him.

Although she didn’t hate this feeling, she still didn’t feel very good about it.

Typically, young men and women shouldn’t hug each other unless they were a couple. This was something that Jian Yiling understood.

After a moment, Zhai Yunsheng let go of Jian Yiling. He turned around to look at the other person in the room —— Qin Yufan.
