Chapter 295: Forming a Team

“No thank you,” Jian Yiling replied. Her answer was calm and decisive.

“Jian Yiling, are you sure that you don’t want to play with us? We’re really good at the game! If you don’t believe us, we can show you our rank! We’re definitely not just bragging.”

“I don’t want to gain elo,” Jian Yiling replied.

Jian Yiling’s response snuffed out the hopes of her male classmates.

Ahhh, girls who play these kinds of FPS games don’t have any ambitions regarding their rank.

Meh. Forget it. They wouldn’t force someone who didn’t want to play to join them.

When the global online team auditions started for the game ‘Zerg Invasion’, Yu Xi immediately came to find Jian Yiling.

His eyes were filled with excitement and anticipation as he said:

“God Ling, let’s form a team!”

“We’ve done that yesterday already.”

“Noooo, I’m not talking about that. I mean let’s team up for the tournament! There’s an official tournament for Zerg Invasion now! We can start through the auditions and then advance through the ranks together! You, me, and Master Sheng! We can find another person to make it four! Then, we can form a team!”

Jian Yiling took a look at Yu Xi. She saw the hope and excitement in his eyes so she decided to not reject him immediately.

Yu Xi continued to ‘beg’ Jian Yiling. “God Ling, please! Just promise me, okay? Please, please!”

“Well, we need to find one more person. Who do you plan to ask?” Jian Yiling questioned. This was a very practical question.

“Jian Yujie!” Yu Xi blurted out immediately. “Although that kid doesn’t know how to play the game, we can still teach him! Either way, God Ling and Master Sheng will be carrying us! Yujie just needs to make sure that he doesn’t hold us back! Everything else will be okay. Trust me!”

The more Yu Xi thought about it, the more he liked the idea. And thus, immediately after talking to Jian Yiling, he approached Jian Yujie.

At first, when Jian Yujie heard that Yu Xi wanted to play games and team up with him, he was about to refuse. He wasn’t interested in playing games.

However, when he heard that Yu Xi was teaming up with Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling, he immediately agreed. Then, he suggested that they replace Zhai Yunsheng.

“I can agree to your request and team up with you guys. But can we replace Zhai Yunsheng? Isn’t he from the capital? He’ll have to go back home sooner or later so it won’t be convenient to have him on the team.”

“It’s fine. We have to get the top 20 before we worry about that. Furthermore, the first few games are online. So even if he goes back to the capital, we can still play together remotely. I’m telling you now though, Master Sheng is very good at the game. With your sister and him leading the two of us, we have a really good chance at winning.”

Yu Xi didn’t see a problem with his plans.

Master Sheng had to be on their team. Their team needed two carries! If not, they wouldn’t be able to make the top 20.

Yu Xi easily talked out of the reason that Jian Yujie found. And thus, Jian Yujie said sullenly, “Ahhh okay. Send me the download link for the game. I’ll start playing tonight.”

Jian Yujie thought to himself, it’s just playing a game. If he got good at the game, he would show Yu Xi that they didn’t need Zhai Yunsheng in the team.

When Jian Yujie got home, he immediately downloaded ‘Zerg Invasion’ on his computer.

Nowadays, his mother was less strict with him. He was no longer forced to study when he came home. He didn’t have to learn about finance and business administration anymore.

Even his pocket money had been given to him on time. He had plenty of time to do the things that he liked.

Whether it was watching magic shows online or buying magic props, He Yan didn’t say a thing about it anymore.

Whilst Jian Yujie was happy about this, he also knew that his sister had done this for him.

Yiling had cared about his feelings. And thus, she hadn’t revealed what his mother had deliberately hidden from the family.
