“There is no need. I can take care of Yiling,” Zhai Yunsheng replied with certainty. He did not want Jian Yiling to move into the Zhai Residence

“There’s definitely a need! You have to go and work during the day. It will be incredibly boring for Yiling to stay home all day. And when she gets into the later months, pregnancy will take a toll on her body. You can’t be with her 24 hours a day,” Master Zhai replied. He believed he had an incredibly valid point.

“You can help me take care of the company then.”

“What company? Didn’t all the companies under the Zhai family’s name go bankrupt? You founded your own company. I don’t know anything or understand anything going on. How can I help you take care of it? Besides, I’m going to be a great-grandfather soon. Have you ever seen anyone’s great-grandfather still working?”

Before Zhai Yunsheng had a chance to argue back, Master Zhai tugged on Jian Yiling’s arm and said: “Yiling, I have to live by myself in that huge mansion. The place feels incredibly empty and lonely. Now that you’re taking a break, could you move in with me? We can keep each other company whilst A Sheng goes to work. Furthermore, I’ve planted many beautiful flowers. I need you to give me some pointers and tips,” Master Zhai said pitifully.

As Jian Yiling was unable to say no, she nodded her head and said: “Alright.”

After Jian Yiling agreed, Master Zhai was so happy. He acted like a seven or eight-year-old child.

Then, he said to his grandson: “Why don’t you hurry up and start packing?”

Despite having a grumpy look on his face, Zhai Yunsheng had no choice but to listen to his grandpa.

Very soon, the two of them were taken over to the Zhai Residence.

And thus, for Zhai Yunsheng, even before their baby was born, their alone time had ended.

In the evening, Jian Shuxing and Wen Nuan came to visit Jian Yiling.

The two of them just learned about the news of their daughter’s pregnancy from Jian Yunmo.

“Father-in-law, mother-in-law,” Zhai Yunsheng greeted politely when he saw Jian Shuxing and Wen Nuan.

“Mhmm,” Jian Shuxing responded. His tone and eyes were not very friendly.

Despite seeing this, Master Zhai was still smiling from ear to ear.

He knew that Jian Shuxing probably felt upset. The old man Zhai could only smile at the side.

Surprisingly, Wen Nuan had a gentle smile on her face. She said to Zhai Yunsheng: “A Sheng, Yiling is pregnant with a baby for the first time in her life. As she has no experience, I will volunteer to take care of her. I hope you don’t mind.”

This was quite a good reason to stay beside Jian Yiling. As a mother with a lot of experience when it came to giving birth to children, it was only natural for her to take care of her pregnant daughter.

Zhai Yunsheng replied: “Mother-in-law, I wouldn’t want to trouble you with this. I’ve already hired a few professional nannies to take care of Yiling.”

Wen Nuan: “It’s not any trouble. I’ve temporarily closed my jewelry design studio. As for the nannies, even though they’re professionals, they won’t be as attentive as I am. However, they can definitely assist from the side.”

Once again, Zhai Yunsheng could only smile in response.

Jian Yiling was also listening to this discussion. As she didn’t know what to say, she could only obediently listen to their arrangements.

She felt like she was transported back into ancient times where she was a pregnant concubine who had many people milling around her.

Jian Yiling attempted to say: “Pregnancy is not that scary, I can take care of myself.”

She believed this was true as she had a wealth of medical knowledge. On top of this, she had experience in taking care of pregnant women and even had experience in delivering babies.

“It’s not the same. A doctor can’t perform surgery on himself or herself. Even if you have a lot of experience, you’re still my daughter. It’s only natural that I take care of you when you are pregnant.” Wen Nuan said.
