Teach me important things

No-one mentioned it

no-one planted it in me

I grew up old realizing,

my relationships wouldn't work

my issues would get worse.

I would give a lot of myself to others

and fill the empty gaps

with somebody else's

and no-one really told me

why it wouldn't work.

No-one paved my road to self-love

I grew up looking for confront in others

because no-one told me

no-one planted it in me

the love and respect I should have for me.

So instead of giving me dolls

to play with

and telling me how I need a man

or how I can't do this or that

teach me important thing

like independence and

how I should love myself.
