When Zhang Zian stood on the high platform to observe, he had already called the relevant departments, mainly the Binhai Forestry Bureau, and reported to them that there were some monkeys here but probably didnât have proper licensing. However, it was unclear if the relevant departments would come. After all, they werenât the patrol police.
After the phone call, he instructed the black and white kitten not to run around. Seeing that it nodded as a promise, he then squeezed into the crowd.
At the time, the situation didnât look good for him. He couldnât save all the monkeys, but he had to save at least this one. Even if he couldnât see it on the outside, he felt at ease as soon as he heard the sound of the keyboard.
âSqueak!â
The new monkey heard Zhang Zianâs voice and turned its head with widened eyes. It stared at him with anticipation.
Zhang Zian looked down and saw that the hair on its neck was pressed hard enough to leave an indent. However, its round eyes shone with wisdom, which was quite different from the other somewhat rowdy monkeys.
He recognized that it was a Rhesus Monkey, and the other four were the same species as well. However, this monkey was younger and looked cuter. The way it stared at his eyes looked like a kid admiring their parents.
âSqueak!â
It reached out its hands to him as if waiting for him to take it away. It even gave up the toy keyboard that it had never left behind.
Zhang Zian also reached out to it. Although the other hand was holding a birdcage, one hand was enough to pick up such a small monkey.
However, its hand was violently slapped aside.
The man inserted himself between Zhang Zian and the monkey. He said arrogantly, âThis is my monkey. What makes you think you can take it away?â
This was indeed an unsolved problem.
Zhang Zian was an ordinary person with no law enforcement power or right to arbitrarily invade other peopleâs property. Although he was almost sure that the couple didnât have the required breeding permit, they were only suspects before being convicted by the court.
If he insisted on taking the monkey now, he would also be breaking the law.
But if he did nothing, who knew when the relevant departments wouldâve arrived? By then, the couple mightâve already taken the monkeys somewhere else.
He was usually cautious and would think of other ways to circumvent legal risks. He would try to solve problems without breaking the law, but today was an exception.
At that moment, he didnât seem to want to follow the rules.
After more than 20 years of obeying the law, this might be the time of his life when he did something different.
Even if it was only for a day.
âIf the law doesnât work for me, then I will use violence to get my way!â he thought.
Right in front of everyone, he flexed his empty arm and naturally concentrated his strength built from momentum and throughout the lower half of his body. Once done, he struck the manâs nose without any fancy moves to it.
âYou should have listened and given in earlier! I wouldnât have had to punch you in that case,â he said casually. He rubbed his greasy fist on the black cloth of the birdcage.
The manâs shock surpassed even the pain he felt. With his eyes opened in disbelief, his nose squirted blood as he fell on his back.
The surrounding spectators were also stunned. In such a situation where things werenât in his favor, he dared to initiate a fight and hit a man. He was very manly indeed!
âYeah! People fighting! People fighting! People are fighting in broad daylight! Where is the law!â
The woman screamed at the sight of her man lying on the ground as blood kept flowing out of his nose.
It was strange, but the spectators who were filled with indignation earlier and wanted to beat him up did nothing. After Zhang Zian took the initiative to provoke a fight, they kept silent and didnât say anything. Many people quietly left out of fear of getting involved.
They initially thought that Zhang Zian as a weak and deceivable man, but now they that he was not.
The more honest people were, the more likely they were to be bullied. However, who dared to bully the one wearing the big gold chains with his arms tattoed?
Man was the ruler of all things and knew when things were in his favor. However, the same didnât apply to dogs.
When the two big dogs saw their masters being hit, they angrily rushed towards Zhang Zian without being told.
Even if Zhang Zian was brave, he wouldnât fight two big dogs with his bare hands. He immediately retreated.
Clank!
Clank!
Just a little bit more.
He was so close to being bitten. Luckily, the length of the chain had reached its fullest extension.
He could almost feel the burning breath from the dogsâ nostrils and smell the foul odor from their mouths.
However, he had only taken a few steps back when his ass seemed to have hit something. Looking back, it was the fat boy who landed on his back and spilled his snacks all over the ground.
âAh! You dare to hit me! You have to pay for my snacks and my clothes!â The fat boy sat on the ground and cried without hesitation.
Zhang Zian thought that this fat boy was also familiar, but he didnât want to think about it or know him.
The woman snorted and cried as she held her man and helped him to wipe his nosebleed. She pleaded for everyone to help her seek justice and not let Zhang Zian escape.
The two big dogs continued to rush toward Zhang Zian. This made the iron chain continue clanking away.
Zhang Zian gave the little monkey a wink and used his finger to draw an imaginary half circle. Whilst the attention of the two big dogs was concentrated on him, he suggested that it went out from the sides.
The little monkey knew what he meant and did as he was told.
The spectators watched silently and used their mobile phones to record videos. No one was idle.
However, an unexpected obstruction appeared; it was the four old monkeys. One of them suddenly came over, grabbed the hair of the little monkey and did not let it go. Instead, it hurried the other monkeys over and each pulled an arm or a leg.
Monkeys were closely related to humans, and their level of intelligence was higher than most animals.
The old monkeys knew that when the small monkey was around, the couple would cook better food for it that they could grab to eat. If it ran away, they would have to eat the garbage previously fed to them. There were also afraid that the couple would be angered and lash out on the four of them.
If they also had a chance to run, they didnât mind running with it. However, they knew they couldnât run away because their chains were still around their necks.
Therefore, for their benefit, they couldnât let the little monkey run away.
They were as realistic, cruel, intelligent, and selfish as a human.
It was at that moment that under the repeated impact of the two big dogs, the chains that held them were finally broken.
The spectators were dumbfounded. The two dogs were so fierce that whoever got caught by them would be bitten to death.
People ran away immediately. They were afraid of running slowly and being bitten by the dogs. As people ran in various directions, many people ended up running into one another. The scene was very chaotic.
The man managed to stop the nosebleed and stood up. Instead of stopping his dog, he became angry and waved a short whip. He pointed at Zhang Zian and said, âBite him!â
This scene gave Zhang Zian a strong sense of Déjà vu, and he blurted out,
âThe red flag spurs the peasantâs armed forces, while the enemy raises the hegemonâs whip!â
It seemed that citing this poem triggered something. Suddenly, a series of screaming meows echoed all around him.
